Bad Dreams Come True

Chapter 1: No Sleep

Blaine Anderson was talking to Liza Marie's teacher, Mrs. Jones, about her falling asleep in class again for the fourth week in a row.

When they got home, Blaine asked, "Liza Marie, Why are you falling asleep in class? Why aren't you going to sleep at night?"

Liza Marie looks at a picture of Noah and Quinn Puckerman and says, "I keep having bad dreams about bad men hurting Uncle Nono's butt and whipping him with a whip if he says no to them. In the last dream, he looked as bad as Jesus did when he was put on the cross but wiff more muscles. The bad men even put something in Uncle Nono's eyes so he couldn't see! Papa, I'm afraid to go to sleep because I am afraid he'll be dead!"

Blaine and Kurt knew Noah had been Missing In Action for the last month and that Liza Marie's falling asleep in class was around the same time. They also hoped Liza Marie was just having bad dreams and what she saw in her dreams was wrong. Yet they feared she was right and kept what Liza Marie saw in her dreams from Quinn.

That night, Liza Marie had another dream about Noah in a hospital screaming, "No more needles please!"

Which made her say, "He said no more needles Assholes! Now, back off!"

Although the doctors didn't hear her, she could tell Noah did and said, "Uncle Nono, if you hear me, I want you to say my nickname."

Then Noah says, "Little She-Hulk?"

Soon after that, Liza Marie wakes up to hear Quinn say, "Liza Marie isn't the only one that had dreams about Puck getting raped and whipped, Blaine! The Army won't tell me anything and act like he is dead!"

This made Liza Marie run into the living room and say, "Try calling them again, Auntie Queenie! I just had a dream that Uncle Nono was in the hospital!"

Quinn makes the call and says," This is Quinn Puckerman. Is there any word on my husband, yet?"

Then she smiles at Liza Marie after talking to the man on the phone and says, "They found him! He is sleeping right now and will be home soon."

Liza Marie asked, "What about his eyes? Can he see?"

Quinn frowns before asking, "Did you see something happen to his eyes? Because I didn't."

Liza Marie just looked down and said, "They put something in his eyes that made them burn, and then his eyes looked like most blind people's eyes do."

When Noah came home, finally, he didn't want to be around anyone but Liza Marie and Quinn. One day while Noah was working on his truck. Which was the only thing he could do well by memory.

He soon heard Burt say, "Damn, Puckerman, now I know why you only brought that thing in for tune-ups."

Noah looks at Burt and says, "It's the only thing I can do by memory, Burt."

Before they heard Liza Marie say, "Grandpa Burt, Uncle Nono lets me help him sometimes when he can't get his hand in smaller spaces."

Noah says to Liza Marie as he is working on his truck, "Liza Marie, I bet your Dada did that for Grandpa Burt there too when he was your age."

Burt laughs and says, "Yeah but when he got older he was in my office most of the time hiding from you and your football buddies."

Then Noah stops and says, "Burt, I am really sorry for all the crap I did to Kurt back in high school."

Burt looks at Liza Marie as he says to Noah, "Puck, I forgave you a long time ago for that and I'm sorry…"

Noah cuts Burt off, saying, "Burt, it wasn't your fault! You didn't do anything! God, since I've been home that's all I've heard! I'm fucking sick of it! I was raped and tortured for a fucking month! I was blinded as part of that torture and the only thing I can do is work on a truck that I can't fucking see to drive! Liza Marie was afraid to sleep because she was having nightmares about me being tortured and now I'm the one afraid of going to sleep. Because I relive that hell every time I go to sleep and it's the one thing I wish I couldn't see!"

Soon Noah is storming into the house and Burt follows him while holding Liza Marie. As Kurt asks, "Dad, what did you say to him?"

Before Burt can answer they hear Noah say to Quinn, "Quinn, you weren't there! You don't know shit! I was raped and I could have fucking died! I swear the only one that gets what happened to me doesn't even know what rape is! All she knows is I was whipped like Jesus Christ and bad men hurt me! I could have died Quinn and you could be a widow right fucking now! Kurt and Blaine have never had to go through the shit I did and I hope they never do! Because I have been through hell and I wouldn't wish that shit on anyone! Now, leave me the hell alone, and don't tell me you understand because you have no fucking clue!"

Quinn just walks back into the living room and Liza Marie goes to check on Noah.

Then they heard Liza Marie yelling at Noah, saying, "Uncle Nono, I wished you didn't get hurt and that you could see again. I wish I could have saved you from those bad men but I didn't and I hate that you're blind now. But yelling at everyone is not going to change the fact you were hurt! You are Uncle Hulk and you are better than those bad men! Stop feeling sorry for yourself and go ask Grandpa Burt for a job! He bought his shop back and if you can remember where everything is on your truck! Well, I bet you can remember where everything is on the vehicles you disabled! Uncle Nono, you are still my hero and it fucking hurts me to see you like this! Now, go back in there and tell everyone that you're sorry for being a jerk! Or I'll take back my Hulk doll and you can go back to having those bad dreams! You may hate everyone feeling sorry for you, but I hate that you are treating everybody except me like they did this to you! And don't tell me you're not because I know you are! Now, get your big baby ass in there and tell everybody you are fucking sorry! Goddamn it!"

Soon Noah walks back into the living room holding Liza Marie and says, "Sorry for the way I've been acting and Liza Marie is right. Ha, I have been a big baby and I know you guys were just trying to help."

Then he pauses before saying to Burt, "Burt, if you have a job open for a blind asshole like me. I would appreciate it if you could give me a job."

Burt chuckled and said, "Ha, you got it, Puck and Liza Marie, I think that was just what Uncle Puck needed."

Liza Marie just smiled before looking at Quinn and saying, "Anything I can do to help." Before hitting Noah upside the head and saying, "You're lucky I am too little to kick your ass, Uncle Nono!"

Which made Quinn say, "You might be small, Liza Marie, but you're just what Uncle Puck needed to get his head out of his butt. I have been trying for days! You are the only one he listens to."

The next day Burt picked up Noah for work and since it was Saturday Liza Marie went with them. As soon as they walked in Burt and Noah started working on a truck similar to his own. Noah could feel the other guys looking at him and said, "You know, Burt, I remember when I would bring my truck in for tune-ups. These guys would joke about how good they were and say they could work on any engine blindfolded."

Then Burt looks up and says, "These cars aren't going to fix themselves! Get back to work!"

And Liza Marie says, "My Uncle Nono lost his sight while fighting for our country and doesn't need people looking at him. The same way people look at me when I am wiff Dada and Papa! He is not a freak and deserves your respect! Now, if I hear Grandpa Burt yell at you again you'll regret it! You think Grandpa is mad! You don't want to see me mad!"

This made Noah laugh and say, "She might be Blaine's daughter but she is just like Kurt. Ha, I must've looked like a dog with his tail between his legs yesterday when she yelled at me. Just like these guys probably do right now."

Burt looked at Noah and said, "Puck, Liza Marie is like Rachel. Ha, I have been around Rachel enough to know what she is like. Don't tell Rachel this but I can handle Liza Marie better."

Noah says with a laugh, "Ha, that's why Liza Marie is my buddy, Burt. She's more like us than she's like Rachel."

When Burt brought Noah home, he said, "I'm proud of you, Puck. You have been through the wringer and came out swinging. Look, when Kurt was a boy I used to worry that he would be beaten to death by you or the guys on the football team and I know he is not as tough as us. But I bet he would have died fighting the whole way. I mean I know you weren't mugged, but like Kurt, you are still here and you will meet a lot of people that won't look past you being blind. Just like people can't see past the fact Kurt is gay. I know you can handle all this, but I'm still here if you want to talk about anything, son."

Noah just says, "Thanks, Burt, and tell Kurt that his dad is the greatest man I know." Before he gets out of the truck and goes into his house.
