Enjoy :)
Hermione Jean Granger was staring out the bedroom window of her apartment. Silence spread everywhere. Not any noise, not the slightest bird's chirp or wind's blow, could be heard.
Those honey-colored, tearstained eyes were lost in thought. She had puffy red eyes from crying. She couldn't believe him.
Ron.
That man had broken up with her! For god's sake, they had been dating for 2 years! Ginny had promised to give Ron what he deserved, but what Hermione needed was comfort, not revenge.
Too bad Ginny was busy with Harry. Luna was off exploring and looking for new creatures. There wasn't a soul on this planet that could comfort Hermione at this moment.
It's fine. I don't need a man anyway. He'll only mooch of my work! Hermione had tried to tell herself. But no matter how much she repeated those words in her head, she just couldn't get herself to believe she was going to be single for the rest of her life.
Draco Malfoy was sitting on his chair - made by his family's old house-elf, Dobby. Draco stared out the window of the manor. It was a chilly day.
Lonely and single, Draco Malfoy was quiet. His father was in Azkaban again and his mother was very quiet lately. Draco worried about her - the one person that had truly loved him. When he asked about her, she said it was the long-lingering effects of the war on a person. She was old, anyway. Narcissa Malfoy.
Draco sighed. His gray-blue eyes were fixed on the willow tree that was in front of his mansion. While he looked like his mind was blank, there was one person he couldn't get his mind off of.
It should've been his mother, he told himself. But no, it was someone quite unexpected.
It was Granger.
The brightest witch of her age, best friend of Potter's, Muggle-born. Draco stopped using that foul word after the war. Mudblood.
Her bushy brown hair, her lovely chocolate eyes, her smooth skin.
When Draco went to the side of the Death Eaters during the war, everyone looked at him weirdly. He couldn't describe their emotion. Some looked like they loathed him. Some looked surprised. Some looked calm, annoyed, indifferent, sad.
But Granger hadn't looked at him like that. Her eyes were full of empathy and understanding. Perhaps she felt pity? He couldn't tell.
What he longed for was a true friend. All those "friends" at Hogwarts - Pansy, Blaise, Astoria, Daphne - they had been fake. They had only liked him for his pureblood and Slytherin status. He wanted someone true and loyal - he hated to admit it, but kind of like a Hufflepuff.
Perhaps Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger were looking eye to eye. Maybe they were just too far away to see each other. Maybe their pupils were looking at each other. But why would a typical Muggle apartment building be near a huge wizard's manor?
