Chapter 6- Plight of the Rush; Romance on the Set

As Vanellope and Rancis finish their date and leave the diner, the director is remaining observant of them.

Director

You can say that I was being creepy and spying on my actors, but these two are the most important to me right now.

Vanellope turns to Rancis. "Thanks for the date Rancis, I had fun." She smiles.

"Im glad you had fun Vanellope, I did too." he said with a smile.

Vanellope turns to head back to the studio, but pauses for a moment, thinking. Rancis looks at her confused. "Vanellope?"

She quickly turns back and pecks him on his cheek before turning and heading back.

Vanellope

That kiss felt right, I didn't want to scare him with a full kiss, but I still wanted to show my appreciation for the date.

Rancis stood there motionless, his face red as a cherry.

Rancis

I wasnt expecting that peck on the cheek from her, but it was wonderful, a bit frustrating that she just turned and left before I could do anything.

Rancis snapped out of his stupor and ran to catch up with Vanellope. The director continuing to observe. "I dont want to approach them directly without knowing how they feel about this." He looks down at the file folder in his hand. When he looks back up, he notices Taffyta and Candlehead leaving the diner. "That gives me an idea."

He turns and heads back to the studio.

Back at the studio, The Director pulls Taffyta and Gloyd into his office.

Director

If I can get these two on board with the plan, I can have them scout those two out for me, I hope this doesnt back fire on me.

"Thank you for meeting with me before your next scene." The Director says as he hands them a copy of the script for Scene 7.

Taffyta looks over the script as Gloyd answers. "Of course. Are we going over our script for the next scene?"

The Director puts down his copy of the script. "Yes, but there is something else as well."

Taffyta and Gloyd look up at him, curious.

"Before I tell you this, I need you two to promise to not let this get out yet." he said.

Taffyta and Gloyd looked at each other, then back at the Director. "Of course." Taffyta said. "Whats going on?"

The Director sighed before opening a desk drawer and pulling out a file folder. "This." He sets down the folder in front of them.

Taffyta and Gloyd look and read the words "Director's Cut" on the folder. "Director's Cut?" Gloyd asks.

"When the Producer asked me to film this movie, he also provided a Director's Cut of the script. He said that if we were able to produce this version of the production, we would get extra pay."

Taffyta and Gloyd perked up. "More pay? Gloyd said

Taffyta looked at the file and reached for it, as she did, the Director put his hand on the folder, keeping her from picking it up. "Whats the difference between the regular production and this one?" She asked him.

The Director leaned toward them. "If I show you, you cant tell anyone outside this office."

Taffyta, with her hand still on the folder, looked at Gloyd, whom nodded his head. She turned back to the Director. "We wont say anything."

The Director looked at them both for a bit, then sighed and removed his hand from the folder, allowing Taffyta to pick up the folder. "The difference is only one scene." He said as Taffyta opened the folder.

Gloyd laughed. "One scene? Thats it?"

"Its much more then just a scene Gloyd." Taffyta said as she looked up, shocked.

Taffyta

I never would have guessed for even a second that this was even a possible thing.

Gloyd looked over at the script. The scene title said "The Next Step" He began to read the script, then went wide eyed. "Oh. Oh my."

The Director nods. "You now see what I have."

Taffyta looks up. "How do you expect us to help with this? We arent even in this scene."

"Your right, you two arent in the scene, but you guys do know the two actors that are." he said.

The Director stood up and looked out the window. "I dont want to approach them until I know how they might respond to this kind of offer."

Gloyd looks up" That makes sense."

"What do you need us to do then?" Taffyta asked.

The Director looked back at them. "You two know Vanellope and Rancis quite well from your interactions on set. I need you to probe them about this, but without actually bringing it up. See how they would feel about this particular situation, then let me know what you think they might say about it."

Gloyd and Taffyta looked at the script again, then to each other. "Okay, we will try." Taffyta said as she closed the folder and sat it back on the desk.

The Director smiled. "Okay, but remember, no one knows about this, especially those two. Lets keep it that way."

Gloyd and Taffyta nodded before getting up and leaving the office.

The Director sits down in his chair, looking at the folder. "I just hope this works."
