When Kendra and Bracken walk through the door Kendra was immediately tackled by Warren and Vanessa. They were crying tears of joy. Kendra was laughing so hard. "Hey guys. I missed you too."

Warren and Vanessa helped her up. "I missed you so much, don't ever do that again." They both said at the same time. Which made the whole room laugh. Vanessa leaned into Bracken saying something. Kendra could only hear it because Bracken let her. "Thank you unicorn for keeping her safe. And congratulations on finally getting the courage to ask her. I can tell she is super happy."

Kendra was touched. Finally those two were getting along. Kendra went over and hugged Vanessa. Vanessa clearly wasn't expecting it but, hugged her back nonetheless. Both sets of Grandparents were there. All of them were so happy to see her moving around again. Kendra was glad too it had been nearly 2 weeks since she stood on her own. It felt odd. 2 weeks was all she was given to live. That whole conversation felt like an eternity ago. Speaking of feelings Kendra herself felt odd. She looked at her skin.

She was glowing. Actually glowing. Could anyone else see this? She stared at her hands in astonishment. Eventually Seth asked, "Hey Kendra what are you looking at." That answered her question.

"Do you really not see this?" She asked.

"See what." Warren replied.

"Kendra are you saying you can see your light?" Bracken asked with an excited look on his face.

"Yes. Is this how I looked when we first met?"

"No, you are shining a lot brighter now than back then."

"Wow, that's insane. How do you stand looking at me. This is kind of burning my eyes."

"I have just adjusted my eyes. Now all I see is a goddess. And I am lucky to call her mine."

"Okay love birds." Warren said. "Bring it down a notch."

"Grandpa interjected himself into the conversation. "Okay everyone not to damper the mood but there needs to be a mission briefing now."

Everyone sobered up quickly. "Alright. Celebrant is going to hit Jade Tower in China. We expect he will hit in a week. That doesn't give us much time. But we do have time to get there through air travel so, tonight everyone who is going will pack. Tomorrow morning at 9 those going will leave. Any questions."

Seth raised his hand. "Grandpa who exactly is going on the mission?"

"Well that all depends on Kendra. She is going to be the team leader on this one."

Kendra internally said crap. Bracken heard her and asked. What's wrong.

I have never been a team leader for anything. Not even in sports. I follow. I don't lead.

Kendra I think you are more of a leader than you realize. Did someone give you an order when you approached my mother to save your family 3 years ago.

Well no.

Did someone tell you to kill the Demon King with Vasilis.

No.

Did someone tell you to come and save me from the Underealm all by yourself.

No.

See you are a leader. Show them that.

Kendra spoke aloud, "I want everyone in this room besides Dale and all of my grandparents to come."

Everyone nodded silently pleased that they were allowed to come. Mostly because they wanted to protect her this time. Even Bracken though he didn't make it his frontal thought. He didn't want Kendra to think he was worried.

Everyone went upstairs to pack. Bracken already had his things from the Fairy Realm so he decided to help the siblings pack. He was also staying the night in the guest room. He was helping Kendra fold her clothes into her bag. She still seemed worried about being the team leader. He knew she would be fine. He also knew she would be safe. Everyone would protect her this time. She looked at him strange. Now he cursed the bracelet.

"You don't think I can protect myself?" Kendra said aloud.

"Kendra it's not that at all." Bracken replied. "It's just that you almost died last time you went on a mission. Everyone is worried about you. Including me. Kendra just promise us all you won't be reckless. Please. For me."

"Bracken I won't promise that. If I see an opportunity to protect you all I will take it. I will promise though I won't take unnecessary risks."

Bracken nodded that was enough.

They continued packing for tomorrow. Kendra shut down her head so Bracken couldn't hear her. I will save everyone in the world even if it cost's me my life. Bracken didn't react so she knew it worked. She opened her mind back up and said. I love you.

His reply was instant. I love you too.
