Sanji knocked on Nami's door. The date was the worst in his life. He can't believe he messed it up on the one person it wasn't suppose to. Sanji waited as he baratted himself. He should have done things differently. But what was really frustrating was what? He knew the restaurant was somewhat the problem, but did he also not like the walk in the park? Was it bad? He seemed to enjoy the crepe. Was it too boring?
"Sanji, what are you doing here?" Nami asks shocked. She thought he would take the day off since Luane was dropped off at school by Zoro she thought Sanji would be taking the day to relax.
"I need advice." He says desperately. She invited him in with a nod. When he gets to the living room he sees Perona and Robin sitting on the couch, a couple drink on the table.
"Hello Sanji how was your date with Zoro?" Robin asks in the friendly way she does. Sanji groaned and fell face first onto the couch.
"That bad?" Nami asks.
"I don't know what went wrong? We were fine in the car ride but after the restaurant it just went downhill from there." Sanji says turning his head to the side for air. "I asked if he hated me then he told me his name and that he's a simple person." Sanji groans again. "I don't know what he means by that." Sanji says. He felt like he could cry.
"You actually thought Zoro hated you?" Nami asks sitting down with Robin and Perona.
"He seemed to be ignoring me." Sanji sits up, his hair a little messy from laying on the couch.
"Was he quiet?" Perona asks.
"Yeah, he barely said a word. He also didn't stuff his face like he did."
"What restaurant did you take him too?" Perona asks.
"Bella Notte."
"That really fancy one?" Nami asks, eye the size of saucers. Perona shakes her head.
"You seem to know the problem." Robin points out as she look at Perona.
"Trust me, I've been raised with him since I could remember."
"But weren't you adopted in middle school?" Nami asks.
"Yes but we were in the same hell hole since either one of us could start remembering things. They always stuck us together because we were the freaks. With his green hair and my pink hair people really started to think we were brother and sister even though we weren't. During his first year of middle school, the winter break we got adopted. Well he did but he didn't want to leave me so he got Mihawk to adopt us both."
"He never said anything."
"Why would he? You guys never asked. It really was like we were both brother and sister and I know Zoro hates fancy restaurants. He hates going to those places especially for work, but sometimes he has to so he sucks it up and goes no matter how many times he complains and groan like a five year old."
"Sanji when you were planning this date what did you have in mind?"
"What went well before." Sanji says.
"YOU IDIOT! Zoro isn't a girl, he's not going to swoon over you because of how fancy the restaurant you took him too is. He's not like those girl you dated in highschool, he's not easy and he doesn't fall for stupid crap like that." Nami says very harshly. Sanji felt himself shrink.
"Sanji, this date wasn't meant for you to impress Zoro it was for you to get to know him, get to know each other."
"Zoro could care less about fancy dinners, all he wants is a fun night out. Do something silly. If he's in a place or around a person he doesn't like he'll be really quiet." Perona says.
"Zoro's never really been the one to care about money." Nami says.
"What about the rest of the date?" Robin asks.
"I took him to walk in the park and we got some crepes." Sanji says with his head down.
"That's better but I think the dinner ruined the rest of the date." Perona says.
"But he should have gotten the hint, I told him to dress formal." Sanji says.
"There are multiple occasions that require formal wear." Robin points out.
"Zoro would have enjoyed a play or a ballet better than a fancy dinner." Perona says.
"Really?" They all asks.
"Yes, we use to go to ballets and plays all the time. He seemed to enjoy those. He once told me he thought it was funny how dramatic everything was. How a simple misunderstanding ruined everything and caused so much trouble. He seemed to like ballets because he could appreciate the amount of hard work and practice it would take to perfect."
"I'm guessing he understood ballet as he worked in the kendo club." Robin says.
"Right, it took a lot of hard work and practice to train to win tournaments." Nami says.
Sanji looked shock, Zoro would have been fine with a play or even a ballet. "How would I have known." Sanji says covering his face in frustration.
"You would have if you asked what he liked." Robin says.
"What do you know about Zoro?" Perona asks.
"He's noisy, messy and brutish but also kind. I know he likes to take naps, and likes to eat rice balls and drink sake." Sanji says.
"If you knew he like rice balls and sake why take him to a fancy restaurant?" Nami asks with a frown.
"Messy? Zoro is not messy at all. Have you seen his room? Everything has a place and everything is it. He took showers every night, deep cleaned his room every week. Cleaned his swords every week too. He was so happy when we learned that everyone got their own room and he wouldn't have to share with Luffy. Ace and Sabo weren't so bad." Perona says.
"Zoro also isn't a brute. He's quite the gentleman." Robin says.
"If by noisy you mean his snores then that can't be helped. Other than that he's quite tame and will get crazy when he wants to. Everyone does when we're with Luffy."
Sanji groans and fall face first on the couch again. "I messed up so bad. How can I make this up to him?" He asks.
"You can, just tell him you're sorry and ask for a makeup date."
"I will." He says.
He calls himself a gentleman but he doesn't even know what his crush is really like. Talk about disgraceful.
