Hey. I'm back with another oneshot once again. This time with LENKU!? Yeah. I wanted to try this out for a while.

Hey, if you don't like it, then don't read it. I do not want to deal with people talking about how I (somehow) ship those two when it's not that bad of a ship, it's only some (key word: some) people who are toxic with it. Same goes with all the other ships. Yes, some rinlen (or other ships like negitoro) shippers needs to take a break from all this toxicity.

Anyways. This is pretty much a oneshot about what happened when Len was in his Hikkikomori days (Shut-in days), after Rin had left him for a while. And this is after he met Miku.

[DISCLAIMER] I do not own any vocal synth mentioned in this fanfiction and none of this is canon. I do not want to deal with the law and other people who would think this is canon. All I want to do is write stories and probably make money. (I want to open a kofi but I don't know how to lol)

[WARNING] I hate the internet and I may be screaming so many swear words.

Ships mentioned here: RinxLen, MikuxLen

[NOTE] It's up to interpretation if Miku had a crush on Len. But Len did have a temporary crush on Miku.

[NOTE 2] Italics means English, since Len doesn't understand the language.

"Huh? You're going away?" A small boy said to his childhood friend. His friend nodded with a sad smile on her face as she whispered to her older sister's ear. Her sister looked at the small boy and said to him, "She said she is going to America to see her Dad. She would be gone for a while."

Tears started to flood the boy's eyes, making his sight blurry. He didn't want to see the girl that he made a strong bond with, despite the language barrier, to go somewhere far where he wouldn't see her again.

"Why!?" The boy sobbed, wiping his tears. "I don't want you to go! I need you!" His face reddened from not only his tears but embarrassment. He didn't want her to see him like this. He promised her that he wouldn't cry anymore. This only made him cry even more, which is something he never wanted to do at all.

He felt something soft on both of his cheeks, forcing him to look up. His moist, emerald green eyes, starring at two pretty sapphire eyes. "Don't cry, Len. I'll be back soon, I promise you." She smiled at him as she comforted him. Even though he didn't understand, the boy hoped she would come back sooner or later.

.

It has been over three years now. Instead of going outside and having fun, Len decided to shut himself inside. It felt much comfortable there, and no one would bother him. Yes, he does miss her, but he also had other reasons than just missing her.

"Ren? Dinner's ready," A voice of a grown, mature woman called. "I know you don't want to come out, so I'm leaving it here." A soft thud was placed on the front door of his room. "If you're ready to go out, then let me know."

With that, the woman left. Leaving the seven-year-old boy alone in his own room. It's not like he cares since it had become his daily routine. It's either his mom or his older sister Anon who comes to the door to give him his food so he can survive.

Before he went to his door, the sound of footsteps quickened all the way to his room. After that, the door slammed wide opened, or maybe slid all the way open. There, it revealed a girl just a few metres taller than him with long teal hair up to her back. Her expression shows how furious she is with him, despite her eyes being closed.

Len took the food and attempted to close the door, not noticing the girl in front of him. That attempt failed since the 12-year-old is still there. "Kagamine-san! You missed my concert again!" the girl cried. Len stared at her, just for a moment.

"No, I didn't," he whispered. He hasn't talked in a while ever since his childhood friend left for America to see her father, so it was alien for him to speak. "...What are you doing here, Miku?" He asked softly, still sounding like a whisper. Miku pouted at him, still mad at him for missing her concert.

"I came to confront you! You didn't attend my concert at all!" she complained, "I even gave you backstage tickets! Yet here you are lazing around!"

"...I am not being lazy..." Len muttered, "I...just don't like people." Miku stared at him, her eyes widening a little bit to show her heterochromia. "You're still waiting for her?" She asked him.

"Is that why you became a shut-in? Because of your best friend?"

Len stayed quiet. "...I thought so," she glared at him. "It's always about your so-called 'friend'! I'm tired of this!" Len didn't dare to look at her. He quietly chewed on his sandwich to avoid her.

"Don't you dare ignore me!"

Len stared at her. Just for a moment, and went back to eating his sandwich. After finishing his food, he walked over to his laptop and showed her the concert. The only difference is that he went there online.

"I told you I did attend to it," Len responded, a bit louder this time. Miku facepalmed. 'A least he saw my performance...' Miku thought to herself as she sighed. Len still didn't look at her in the eyes, so all he did was stare at his laptop.

Miku sat beside him, watching over his shoulder to view his laptop. Len blushed at that sudden action Miku made as he tried to move away from her just a little bit. "So. Who is that friend you're always talking about?" She asked him, still moving closer to him with no intention.

Len's face burned into a bright shade of red.

"Uh...Sh-She's a friend of mine since kindergarten..." He whispered. Miku looked at him, then back at the laptop. "Oh, I see. What's her name?" Miku asked, interested in this subject.

"L-Lin..." Len answered while stuttering. He then realized his mistake and rephrased what he had said, "I- I mean Rin!" Miku giggled at him. She finds it cute that he would try to correct himself, pronouncing words with 'R' in them.

"Really now?" Miku smiled. That smile immediately vanished when she realized that her friend was using the same excuse to not watch her live concerts. "H-Hey, wait a minute! I'm still mad at you!"

Len didn't believe her and continued to watch her concert.

Len is now twelve. Miku's fifteen.

Miku decided to surprise him by bringing him a nice gift for him to enjoy. She wants to cook something for him, as a way to say thank you for being her friend. She asked her manager*, Lola, for cooking lessons.

Lola was teaching her how to bake a cake when something came to her mind. "Miku, why are you asking me of all people?" She asked Miku with a questioning tone. Miku turned to Lola with a smile on her face, unaware that she stirred the batter for too long.

"It's for a friend of mine! Today marks our 2nd anniversary!" She beamed. Lola looked surprised that Miku would do such a thing to someone that she didn't know. Usually, Miku would give her family her payment to pay their bills, but baking a cake for a friend is new to Lola.

"I hope he likes it!" Miku chirped, piquing Lola's interest more. "So, your friend's a boy, huh? Is he your boyfriend?" Lola asked. Miku blushed at this question.

"N-no! He's just a friend of mine!" She stammered while placing the batter into the cake pan, "Isn't that against the rules to date someone!?" Lola chuckled.

"Well, yeah. But it's not that big of a deal to the company," Lola explained while adding the temperature to the oven after cleaning up the mess Miku made. "As long as you don't announce it, your reputation as an idol would be stable."

"B-but Lola!" Miku pouted, causing Lola to laugh.

A few hours later, Miku snuck into Len's home. Len was already prepared with everything. This shocked Miku because, as said before, Len had organized everything for that special day they shared together.

Miku somehow felt guilty about this, knowing she only baked a cake for him. That's all there is to her gift. She looked at Len. He's feeling much more fidgety than she expected him to.

"Len, I never knew you could do all of that..." Miku commented, causing Len to blush in embarrassment. He looked away from her, still embarrassed about his friend's reaction.

"It's amazing!" Miku beamed, "You can do all of that even though you were in your room the entire time! How can you do that!?" Len didn't answer. Instead, he decided to change to a different subject, "Uh...Why don't we already start this?"

Miku tilted her head in confusion but didn't question him further and sat down beside him. They were having a conversation about how they first met. Miku teased him about seeing his crying face. Len mentioned the day she thought he was a girl when he actually wasn't.

Everything went well.

"...I think you'd be great friends with her, don't you think?" Len asked. Miku knew where this conversation was going as soon as he mentioned her. It's been almost eight years, and Len still believes she's coming back.

"Uh...Yeah. I think she would..." Miku hesitated. She really wants to tell him that maybe his friend, Rin, isn't coming back. But she doesn't want to ruin this day for them. Instead, she decided to stay quiet about this subject.

"Uh...Anyways, are you gonna eat the cake I baked for you?" Miku asked. Len's eyes widened, "You can bake?" Miku nodded. She presented her cake, which was supposed to be a vanilla cake. Len stared at it for a while.

"It'll taste good! I promise you," Miku insisted. Len cut a piece of cake and placed it on his plate. He then took a small bite of it and chewed. Miku stared at him, despite her eyes being closed at the moment.

She didn't need to ask since Len was already on his way to the bathroom.

Two years had passed. Len is now fourteen, and Miku's now sixteen.

The both of them are now apart. Len finally got out of his shut-in state to attend high school and meet new friends. Len met a hyper girl named Gumi. Though she's three years older than him, he still manages to get along with her.

Miku, on the other hand, is continuing her pop idol career. She goes on world tours, television interviews, and she even has her own show. She met Meiko and her two lovers, Kaito and Luka. Miku recommended Len hang out at Meiko's place if she finishes her current world tour.

Though they were separated, they were still in touch.

Since Len just got out of his room, he barely interacts with his classmates. He doesn't know them at all, and he's a stuttering mess when making friends in his grade. As of now, everyone's talking about a new student arriving in their class.

It didn't bother him at first. He didn't want to hear more information about it. As soon as the teacher entered, everyone went back to their seats and waited for the announcement.

"Good morning, students."

"Good morning," Everyone replied.

"So, we all know there's a new student in this class," She started. All of the students were about to celebrate with joy. They couldn't do that because of how strict their teacher can be.

The teacher sighed, "And yes. She's a girl."

Some of the boys were celebrating quietly. Some girls were also excited. Either because they are attracted to a girl, or they want to make a new friend.

"But, she doesn't speak our language, but she speaks English."

English? Doesn't that somehow ring a bell?

"You can come inside!"

As the door opened, Len's eyes widened. The once short and choppy hair was now long and tied into a low ponytail. Her once brightened sky blue eyes were now dull grey ones. But her face just said it all. Everything about that girl made him happy that his best friend came back.

"Everyone. Meet Rin. Please treat her with care."

She kept her promise, as she did nine years back.

Sometimes I question why I name my documents like that. No I am not telling you what it is, alright?

Anyways you have reached the end of this oneshot, and I am kinda surprised that I writing over a thousand words. Usually I struggle at that. Last time, during the chaotic year, I didn't have writers block at all (and my grammar was shit) and I wrote over eight thousand words (My grammar is still shit though). Thoughts on this? You want another ship fic (platonic or romantic), then you can go to the poll on my profile, or review which one you want.

I am thinking of making a multichapter fanfiction though, and I am procastinating on my work, so this means multitasking I guess :3.

*Lola is actually Miku's co-manager. Miku's actual manager is Wil (Sorry Wil fans, but I made him the strict one :'| don't kill me)

This is farewell for now. I'll see you on the next one. (If you can actually see me, then I am surprised and kinda freaked out)
