Good evening all, firstly I would just like to take a second to thank you for all the reviews and pm's I have been getting, I read them all with joy, it makes what im doing that much more enjoyable. Like I have said before I have been working on this story for a few years now and was always dubious about posting it because it starts out so dark and I didnt think you, the readers, would be interested in something that starts off seeing our beloved Callie going through absolute hell. but the stats are showing that lots and lots of you are reading, so I shall continue working on this one.
Now, finally it's time for the chapter you have all been waiting on for two reasons. firstly its time for the Arizona/Earl show down... can anyone guess how thats going to go? probably not... Earl is a POS after all! and secondly Calzona are finally reunited but will it go as you want it to?
This fic really is a labour of love, alot of time and effort has gone into writing it and trying to get it just right, hopefully that comes across when you are reading it. If you could please take a second to drop a review at the end to let me know your thoughts.
This will be the last we see of Earl for a while... dont worry though he wont be gone forever, just incase there are any Earl fans out there who want to see more about him... he will be back muahaha!

"Arizona, how are we going, it's almost time that we called the police and got them involved I'm afraid, we can't legally wait much longer" Webber smiled sadly as he entered the meeting room to find Arizona sat typing furiously on her laptop.
"I think I have about everything that I'm going to get. I have input all the evidence into this software that will be released to the market next year. It compiles all the data and gives a 3D model of the patient and the injuries sustained. Because this is a case of long-term trauma to her body, I have run two diagnostics, the first is for the most recent trauma, the one that brought her into the Emergency Department four days ago and shows only the injuries sustained as a result of that specific trauma that I can isolate. The second shows her overall injuries that I have been able to determine from the x-rays, CT's and from your surgeon's diagnosis'. The software runs determinations based on the images I have scanned into it and suggests likely causes of the trauma based on its extensive database of injuries that the developers have input into it, it's great for things like breaks and bruises but not so good on scars as obviously the skin has been re-formed since the incidence, but it gives a good idea as to the cause of a lot of her damage" Arizona took a deep breath as she flicked through various pages and allowed the chief of surgery to inspect her work with his own eyes.
"This is amazing software, I wasn't even aware something like this was in the making, 'I will definitely be investing in this for the hospital!" Webber smiled softly; he was not only impressed with the software.
"I hope you don't mind but I took the curtesy of getting each of the people you had brought in here as well as Bailey and Montgomery to write up an affidavit of their findings and conclusions, which I have also scanned into the software which confirms the software's findings on most cases and once I print it all out, the software automatically inputs reference points so the police will be able to flick between the entire document and make sense of it all. It's fantastic software, especially for this kind of case where there are numerous trauma's that are unknown. Hopkins were the first to get access to it on a trial period, I can get you the developer's information if you would like to get in touch with them" Arizona offered nervously.
"That would be great" Webber smiled. He had noticed the ease that Arizona had settled in with his staff, he had seen her work ethic and she was clearly a loyal person, and Hopkins was an amazing school, he had already done his research into the med student and wasn't all that surprised to find that she was not only at the top of her class but had broken all the records for Hopkins to date, by all intents and purposes, she was a prized student, and not surprisingly, he wanted her at his hospital. "Ok let's get this printed"
"On it. I also took the liberty of filling in my own affidavit to add to the file, and one from each of Callie's parents, I detailed why I am doing this and the permissions granted to me by you to do it, I hope that's ok... I just didn't want any of it to be inadmissible just because I skipped a tiny part" Arizona asked curious of what the response would be.
"Funny you should mention affidavits because I have one here for you too" Webber pulled four sheets of A4 paper from a manila folder and handed them to the blonde to scan and add to her docket. "I have detailed how I came across you, the permissions I granted you and why and everything we have done to date as well as my findings on Callie's case based on my own investigations and the investigations of my staff. That should confirm anything you have said but if they have any doubts, here is a copy of the contract I had you sign when I brought you on as a temporary member of staff in order to grant you access to all of this... that should stop any type of inadmissible claims" Webber handed another five A4 pages to Arizona that was the extensive contract she had to sign just to be allowed to sit in that room.
"Thanks chief, I really appreciate all the help you have given me, and the resources, I really could never thank you enough... but I did hear Carlos mention something about a donation once all this is finished so it doesn't look like a payoff" Arizona laughed softly as she rubbed her head.
"Well, it seems like you have everything we need" Webber patted her shoulder thankfully, a donation would always be welcome, but that was far from any bodies minds when they offered the help, the blondes determined pleas were what put the nails in the coffin that was Earl Thompson's abuse over Callie Thompson.
"Not everything, his confession would be a good thing… and about that… I need your help with something" Arizona smiled hopefully.
"Why do I feel like I'm not going to like this" Webber asked with worry.
"I need you to separate him from Callie for a little while, I'm going to approach him and try and get him to confess while its being recorded, I need to know where your CCTV covers so I can get a visual, and I'm going to record the audio on this amazing device Addie gave me earlier" Arizona offered with a shrug.
"This is a bad idea, if he is abusive then what's to say he won't turn on you?"
"Well at the same time I am trying to get a confession, you and Bailey will be talking to the police not too far away, hopefully if I do this right he will blow up and not only will we get it on video and audio, but with lots and lots of witnesses and a couple of cops to boot" Arizona filled him in on the entire plan.

Callie had just been wheeled away for a CT, a test which Earl couldn't join her due to the chance of radiation poisoning, fucking doctors making shit up just to piss him off. Just as he was about to exit Callie's room a flash of blonde hair appeared in front of him looking at him accusingly.
"What the fuck are you doing back here, you're not allowed here" Earl growled as he looked down at the blonde with distaste.
"Where is she Earl? you can't stop me from seeing my best friend. tell me where she is" Arizona of course knew where the brunette was, all she was trying to do now was bait the bastard into believing that he was still home free and safe, lull him into a false sense of security in hopes that he would admit his confession.
"she's somewhere you will never get your dirty hands on her you filthy dyke, now piss off back where you came from" Earl scoffed.
"Not until I see Calliope, I came here to see her and I'm not leaving until I do" Arizona spat, deliberately using Callie's full name to goad him. Callie wouldn't dream of letting this scum bag use her full name and if he had been regardless, he would have seen the disdain and annoyance in her eyes every time so hearing the blonde use the name so candidly was certain to get him on edge, or so she hoped.
"She doesn't want to see you" Earl scoffed, crossing his arms over his midsection and puffing out his chest to make himself feel like the big man he was far from being.
"Did you tell her I was here?" Arizona asked knowingly.
"Yes, and her parents, she said she wanted to make sure none of you came anywhere near her" Earl lied with practised ease.
"Bullshit, she would never refuse to see me" Arizona scoffed.
"she's refused to talk to you for the last three years, she doesn't want anything to do with you anymore, get that through your thick skull and fuck off back to whatever rock you crawled out of" Earl's face began to redden, someone back chatting him was not something he was used to and it was ruffling his feathers.
"See here's the thing Earl, I have my suspicions that Calliope didn't decide to avoid me and her family, and all of her friends, and everyone she knows. I strongly suspect that someone has forced her into hiding, and I am strongly suspicious that this same person is the reason she is laid in a hospital bed right now… you wouldn't know anything about any of this would you?" Arizona asked in an accusing tone, sure to punctuate each word perfectly as a blow to the man.
"Nope, don't know what you're talking about… perhaps it's all in your mind because you can't handle that Cal chose me over you" Earl smirked evilly.
"See that's the point, Calliope would never choose anyone over me, like I would never choose anyone over her, which makes me think that you are refusing her to see me. Are you Earl? refusing a fully grown woman to speak to her best friend just because you're a pathetic, lonely little coward with no friends of your own?"
"Piss off, do you think I'm stupid enough to not see what you're doing right now you stupid little rug muncher. Do you really think I would give you a show in front of all of these people?"
"Fine, let's go somewhere more private and you and we can work this problem out in private"
They move into Callie's room and Arizona closes the door behind her, glancing up subtly at the CCTV camera opposite Callie's room that had a view right through the door. Suddenly the blinds closed and Arizona tensed before glancing to Earl.
"Like I said, you want this conversation… no witnesses" Earl smirked and Arizona could swear she could see a satisfied evil in his beady eyes.
"Fine, no witnesses, now you have me out of sight of everyone else, how about you tell me exactly what the hell you think you are doing to my best friend" Arizona crossed her arms defensively over her chest.
"she's my wife, what I'm doing to her is no business of yours" Earl offered as he took a step closer to the blonde, stepping into her personal space threateningly.
"that's where your mistaken, Calliope's wellbeing will always be my business and if you're hurting her then you will have me to deal with" Arizona threatened holding her stance, she wouldn't allow him the satisfaction of knowing he was scaring her, she wouldn't take that step back because it would allow him to know she was scared of him, instead she stood still hoping that her lack of fear for him would ruffle his feathers even more.
Earl couldn't contain his laughter at the small women's gall. "What exactly do you think you're going to do blondie" he spat, knowing that Arizona hated that name and only allowed Callie and her brother to use it.
"Try me and see Earl. I strongly advise that you get out of here, file for divorce and never show your face around here ever again"
"Oh really, and why would I do that?" Earl smirked, he could see the fear in the blue eyes despite Arizona's best efforts to hide it, he knew he was winning and with a few more chosen words he would have the blonde running to hide.
"Because I'm certain when I see Calliope and assure her that I'll be by her side when she reports you to the police, you will be regretting not taking option A"
"you'll stay the fuck away from Callie" Earl warned, taking another calculated step forward, fully expecting for the blonde to finally take that step back, but she didn't, she stood her ground.
"You can't stop me. What are you going to do Earl, option A or option B" Arizona leaned slightly towards Earl, showing him that she wasn't going to budge.
"Neither, I'll take option C and beat the shit out of you, pretty sure you won't be saying shit to anyone with a broken jaw" Earl growled in a menacingly low tone.
"What like you broke Callie's jaw?" Arizona scoffed humourlessly.
"The fuck are you talking about… wait how did you know that?" Earl's eyebrows rose in shock.
"Oh, I know lots Earl, I know about every single broken bone. The numerous concussions. The miscarriages. The scars you have left all over her skin… I know all about them all, and so do you because you're the one who caused them all aren't you, you piece of shit" Arizona took a step towards him, trying to throw him off kilter and closer to that elusive confession.
"You don't know shit, fuck off back to Baltimore or where ever you came from" Earl scoffed standing his ground, his big hands curled into fists as his anger rocketed.
"Does it make you feel like a big man knowing that you can beat a woman?" Arizona teased him in a serious voice.
"You want to find out, do you?" Earl threatened mockingly.
"Come and try it, I will show you a woman who doesn't submit quite so easily, I do warn you though my bark and my bite are just as bad as each other" Arizona pushed harder.
"Fucking dyke, you'd like that wouldn't you. So you can run straight to the cops with a black eye and cry rape" Earl scoffed as he eyed the blonde suspiciously, trying to figure out her motives.
"that's the difference between us, I have ethics and morals" Arizona pointed out with well worded jabs to the big man's ego.
"you've got a big mouth on you, shame you're a dyke… a mouth like that would be great at blowing me off" Earl mocked and grinned when Arizona grimaced at the thought and the crudity of his phrase.
"Shame we will never find out, I tend to avoid rapists and men who beat up women" Arizona scoffed in his face, she could see the vein in his throat bulging and pulsing with the rapid rhythm of his heart beat, she knew he was close to blowing, she just hoped that the cops were going to arrive soon because she knew in an altercation, she stood no chance against him. Callie had always been the bigger and stronger of the two, if she couldn't defend herself against him then Arizona stood no chance.
"you're really starting to piss me off" Earl warned.
"Are you trying to threaten me or is that the only kind of foreplay you know of?" Arizona mocked.
"Trust me you'd know if I was trying to threaten you" Earl smirked, he could smell the fear rolling off the smaller woman.
"Why because I would end up in a hospital bed next to your wife... the last person you threatened" Arizona jibed once more.
Earl grabbed Arizona and pinned her to the wall by her neck, her feet two inches from the ground as he strangled her. Her eyes widened in panic as she realized she couldn't breathe and Earl was likely to actually kill her. Despite being petrified, she couldn't help but feel triumphant when she realizes he will have no way to hide her body, the cops were meters away and will be on their way soon. They will find her body, arrest Earl for her murder and take him far away from Callie, she will be safe even if Arizona won't be there to see it and help her pick up the pieces.
The door to the room opened and Mark Sloan wheeled Callie into her room, Callie screamed in fear when she instantly saw her best friend being strangled by her husband. Mark jumped forward, abandoning Callie's bed in the door hole as he tackled Earl, punching him solidly in the face and knocking him unconscious with one hit that broke his nose instantly.
Arizona drops to the floor, her hands instantly moving to grasp at her neck
"Hey blondie, don't do that you're going to make it worse. Come here and let me see. You ok?" Mark asked as he made his way to her side and began to inspect her neck, instantly seeing how red and swollen it was but all Arizona could do was nod, she couldn't find any words even if she could have pushed them out around the fear.
"C'mere sit on this chair and let me see. Security!" Mark yells out past the bed that was still abandoned in the doorway and holding a very scared looking Callie.
"Arizona are you ok, what the hell are you doing here?" Callie asks, finally finding her voice.
"She can't talk right now her throat is completely swollen" Mark offered her a calming smile as he tenderly pressed against her neck, searching for any signs of serious damage. The blonde was able to breathe so at least her airway wasn't completely closed.
Security entered and Earl was cuffed with his hands behind his back and rolled over whist he was still unconscious.
Derek Shepherd is called in to do an exam on him as the police approach.
Callie's bed is pushed aside to make way for the many people coming and going out of her room and the entire time her eyes are focussed on Earl, waiting for him to come to and lose his shit at her.
Webber entered the room with two detectives, both in suit trousers and shirts and grim expression as they took in the scene around them. The chief put a stack of manila folders down at the side and points out the door. "That's the camera we were just discussing. Security is transferring the footage from the past five days onto a flash drive for you to take just now. I believe Ms. Robbins has an audio device for you too"
"You fucking bitch" Earl groaned as he finally started to come to his senses just to hear that he had been set up.
"Mr. Thompson, good of you to join us. We are placing you under arrest for suspicion of assault and battery, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assault with intent, attempted murder and rape on Mrs Calliope Thompson and the attempted murder of Ms. Arizona Robbins. You have the right to remain silent, what you do say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney, if you can't afford one then you will be appointed an attorney by the State. Do you understand?" the taller of the two cops read his rights.
"As Ms. Robbins is unable to speak due to the injuries sustained by Mr. Thompson, I would like to provide you with the evidence Ms. Robbins has compiled over the past seventy-two hours which show a clear history of abuse caused by the accused. She did this under my authority and under the volunteer contract I gave her and had issued with our HR department which authorized her to have access to Mrs. Thompson's medical files. As you will see when reviewing this evidence, she has documented Mrs. Thompson's injuries extensively, it includes all medical history of the abuse, evidence of the assault directly leading to her admission to hospital and contains affidavits from anybody who has come into professional or personal contact with the abuse of Mrs. Thompson" The chief motioned towards the manila folders containing all of the blondes hard work.
"Cal tell them she's lying for god's sake" Earl scowled. Callie looks at Earl with scared eyes before staring at the floor in shame.
"Ms. Robbins, I assume that you would like to press charges for the assault and attempted murder on yourself by Mr. Thompson? I will accept a witnessed nod or shake of your head due to your inability to speak from your injuries that Dr. Sloan witnessed the accused giving you" the cop asks.
"yes" Arizona croaked through her gravelly voice, wincing at the pain she was awarded for her effort.
"Would you like to file for a restraining ordering" the shorter detective asked.
"Absolutely… and for Callie too?" Arizona croaked again.
"Shh, try not to speak and make it worse" Mark tried to quieten her.
"Mrs. Thompson would you like to press charges against your husband for assault, battery, attempted murder and rape crimes that will be investigated and may be reduced or added too by an attorney of your choice, if you cannot afford an attorney the state can provide one?" The taller detective asked the brunette carefully and with concern as Callie started to panic and hyperventilate.
"it's ok Calliope, I'm here now... your safe" Arizona nodded softly, coaxing the brunette into being a little stronger.
Callie glanced at Earl who was glaring at her before nodding solemnly. "ye-s... yeah I… do" Callie sobs and cuddles into herself as much as possible through the pain.
"You fucking bitch. Why are you lying? I'm going to get my lawyer to take you for everything, do you hear me? I'm going to flatten you" Earl practically screamed.
"Mrs. Thompson would you like for me to organize a restraining order to ensure that your husband is kept away from you?" detective
Callie nods "please"
"Mr. Thompson, a temporary restraining order is in place, this means that you cannot be within five hundred yards of either woman whilst the courts lodge an official order. If you break this order, you will be arrested and detained without the option of bail and will be held within a segregation cell in a detainment facility so that you are unable to come into contact with, or coerce somebody else to come into contact with either Calliope Thompson or Arizona Robbins. You will be notified by your case worker if the official order has been approved or lifted" The detective motions for the shorter detective to grab the evidence and follow.
"Wait! Audio!" Arizona croaked.
Arizona pulls the recorder from her pocket and hands it to the officer who looks at it with a smirk.
"This is Officer Daniels, badge number 341891. Ms. Arizona Robbins has handed me this device from her left hooded jacket pocket and has been touched by nobody else during the exchange. The exchange was witnessed by Deputy Collins, Mrs Calliope Thompson and doctors Webber, Bailey and Sloan and as of nineteen hundred hours and forty-three minutes on the date of June third twenty zero nine, it is in police custody and will be bagged for further investigation" hitting stop and smiling at Arizona sadly. He gives her his card and tells her to email him with her contact details as soon as possible so he can get in touch with her regarding the case. And if either woman needs anything to just call. He hands a second card to Callie, and then another to the chief.
"Ok let's get this neck seen to rocky" Webber smiled sadly as he motioned for Arizona to follow him and leave the room.
"Please… don't go!" Callie begged pitifully.
"Callie, they need to check out her neck and throat and treat her, I'll stay with you till she gets back" Mark offered softly hoping to settle the spooked woman.
"No, if Cal wants me to stay then I'm not leaving her side. Can you bring what you need to me please?" The blonde croaked her voice gravelly and winced with each word and breath. The sentence was said slowly as she held her throat supporting the injury in hopes it will aid a smoother ability to speak.
Webber nodded his approval and orders Dr. Bailey to get on it before moving Callie's bed back into place and reattaching her lines. "Sloan go and get your hand seen to, I will wait here with these ladies"
"All due respect Chief, but no way! I'm staying right here until they are safe!" Mark argued.
"They are safe now and I will watch them. Go and get sorted and come back when your hands fixed up Dr Sloan" Webber argued back.
Callie watches in confusion and fear at what's going on as Mark leaves. Webber goes about checking Callie's stats then begins his own inspection of Arizona's throat. "I warned you that it was a risky move"
Arizona simply nodded her agreeance.
