The entry to rest of my life

Haruhi is nervous at first when she receives the letter but eventually decides that avoidance is almost impossible now. So she reads it and sees that her presence has been requested in two days' time at the headmasters office and failure to show would result in police being called. This causes a new set of problems. First and foremost she knows that if they are willing to call the cops on someone with the last name Kasanoda then they are taking the little invasion very seriously, but it also means they haven't contacted the police yet which is good for Haruhi as she can try to talk her way out of this. Problem number two is they will 100% call her Ojisan if she doesn't show up. She hasn't fully informed him of her less then legal practices and he won't be happy with her acting so carelessly and getting caught so easily. Third and probably most immediate is she had told Yui she would attend and clean in two days and hasn't missed any events with Yui outside of family things. So she will have to tell them that she can't go and because it's so last minute they know it won't be for family and they will eventually get it out of her.

So she needs to make a plan for telling. Good news they are meeting tomorrow for coffee so she can tell them all together, bad news they are meeting tomorrow morning for coffee so she has little time to plan. First she needs to make this seem less bad then it is. If she were to think about it as if she was Yui then maybe it will give her a chance to explain herself in person and prove to them she is who she is and that she's a good person despite her actions and name. Nari would say that i need to dress for the part and probably give her a makeover after yelling at her for not saying something sooner, and Kage will scold her for being irresponsible and tell her that she needs to go and apologize (which he knows she won't do). Hoping this will work out like she planned, she heads to bed and hopes all goes well tomorrow.

The next day Haruhi is the first to arrive at the café, taking the time to look over her actions from the hack and try to find where she got caught. Just as she reaches the moments right before she got caught, Yui and Nari walk in and join her so she has to stop and find it later. As they are ordering, Kage walks in and orders from the bar. He sits down and they start talking about the following day and the schedule. Haruhi knows she has to step in before this gets too far so they can re-plan as soon as possible. So she taps Nari on the arm hoping she recognizes the signal and stops the conversation. Thankfully she does and asks Haruhi what's up.

"Guys I have to tell you something and I don't think you'll be particularly happy about it." She said

"Haruhi what's going on you seem off." Yui had sensed something was off with their friend since she arrived.

Deciding to get right to it she starts. "You know how Nari and Kage have both gotten their letters" they nod and look for her to continue "well Ritsu and his right hand both got there's a little while ago as well. So I started getting worried that maybe I haven't gotten mine yet because I won't be getting one at all. So I decided to look into the school system and check my student status. Well when I got to my file it said that I had been accepted but my letter was put on hold to verify my identity."

Before she can continue she is cut off by Yui. "Just so we are all on the same page, by look into you do mean hack into the school right?"

"Technically, yes I hacked into Ouran's systems and found my personal file. But that's all I looked at, I promise ." Haruhi tried to defend herself.

Nari looked at Haruhi with an expression she had never seen the girl use before. If Haruhi were to guess she would say it was a mix between betrayal and hurt. "So let me get this straight. you assumed you hadn't gotten in so instead of talking to us about it and trying to come up with a plan together, you decided that we weren't important enough to you to help and went by yourself to find the information. It's also safe to assume that the only reason you are telling us now is because you were either caught or are giving up and are telling us to go to Ouran without you." Before Haruhi could respond Nari gets up and runs outside.

Haruhi didn't miss a beat and followed her best friend outside. Thanks to her running she was able to catch up with her friend rather quickly and stop her from getting too far. She pulls her to a bench on the sidewalk and won't let her go until she can explain. Haruhi can tell Nari isn't happy with her but didn't think she would be so angry. She also didn't think she would figure her motive out so quickly. Though Nari is her best friend and they have known each other for years she has never been the most observant person, or at least that's what Haruhi thought. Clearly she knows Haruhi better than she guessed. So she waited a few minutes before trying to say anything. When Haruhi felt Nari had calmed down a little she tried explaining everything.

"Look I know you're upset but just let me say a few things first." she got a nod from Nari and continued. "You are right, I should have talked to guys when I first thought I wasn't getting in, but I didn't want to stress you guys if it was nothing or if it was something I could fix on my own. I get that you guys are always there for me and I really appreciate that but I thought that if I told you guys we would go full in and I didn't want to put that on you guys. " Haruhi could tell Nari wanted to say something but nodded at her before she could say anything and continued on. "If my letter was lost in the mail or if someone else at the compound had it then I would have stressed you guys out for nothing. By the time I found it was a real issue I had already been caught in the school system and couldn't take it back. I know I have a lot to explain to you guys but I will answer any questions you have but I would rather do it all together so why don't we head back and I can tell you, Yui and Kage all together."

"They are right behind you so all you really have to do is explain the hacking thing and what will happen now." Nari looked up at Haruhi with something similar to her regular smile and a small weight was lifted off Haruhi's shoulders she didn't know she had. She turns at Nari's words and see's Kage and Yui standing a little bit behind her and judging by the expression on their faces they heard everything she explained to Nari a minute ago. They walk closer and sit (Yui on the bench on Haruhi's other side and Kage on the ground facing them) down to hear what Haruhi has to say. That's when she tells them about the hacking competitions she entered over the past summer and continued throughout the year and how she donated any winnings to Yui's two clubs. She told them about her hacking into the school and how she got caught a little while after she found her file and was immediately kicked out. As it was her first time being caught she is unsure how it happened. Then yesterday she got a letter from the school but instead of an acceptance letter it was a summons to the headmasters office and threat of legal action if she doesn't show.

She can't not go because Her Oji can't have that attention and she wants the chance to explain herself. So she tells them that she can't go to the event tomorrow and apologizes fervently, mostly for lying to them all this time but also for having to bail on them at the last minute. She sits in silence for a few minutes expecting them to yell at her or scold her for doing something (slightly) illegal, but when she looks up she can see that Kage and Nari are both barely holding back laughter and Yui looks more like a slightly inconvenienced mom. Finally Yui breaks the silence by telling Haruhi that maybe next time she shouldn't get caught so fast and be more prepared when she does things like this, knowing full well that nothing she could say would stop Haruhi from hacking anyway. Then Kage and Nari fully release their laughs and tell Haruhi they thought she was smarter than this. Once they all calm down a bit Kage and Yui have a secret conversion with nods and gestures while Haruhi and Nari look a little displeased that they aren't the only ones who can do that anymore. Kage turns to Haruhi and tells her that he will be attending the meeting with her tomorrow for emotional support and physical backup if need be. And once the meeting is over and depending on the result they will help her figure out how to tell her Ojisan about EVERYTHING (hacking included).Once they all agree on the plan for tomorrow they head back to the café and try to enjoy the rest of their time today. They even agreed to cancel their individual plans for the day and hang out at the compound.

Haruhi wakes up the next morning feeling something she hasn't felt in a very long time. Scared and a little bit nervous. As she leaves the compound she gets a text from Kage saying to meet him at the café to get breakfast and make a real plan for the day. She gets there about 15 minutes later and finds Kage already at their regular table and already his and her coffee and breakfast to go. They walk to the train and find a car waiting for them, apparently her body men assumed she had a long way to go today and got a car prepared so as to avoid any unnecessary social interaction. With the ride they get to Ouran High School about 20 minutes early. Haruhi gives her name to the security at the gate, but they don't have approval for three other people. So she hawks them if they can call whoever her meeting is with and inform them that there is no way her men would let her go alone and Kage is there as her friend, and incoming student. After they do so they allow her onto campus but inform her men that any weapons must be left at the gate and that the school guards would escort their party to the office. One all of that is settled they walk through campus and arrive at what seems to be the center of campus.

As they walk into the building they follow the guard to the top floor and into the back right corner of the building. They stop at a conference type room where they are told to sit and wait for men they will be meeting with. Haruhi sits near the middle of the long side with her back to the window and Kage sitting directly on her left. Her men stand post a couple chairs over on either side. They sit for a couple of minutes in silence waiting for whoever they will be talking with. Haruhi assumes it will be at least the director of the school and the head of their IT department. After about 25 more minutes two older men and one boy who looks about her age walk and sits across from them. One man sits right across from Haruhi (probably the director) while the other sits on his right opposite Kage, and the younger kid sits further away towards the end of the table and takes out a laptop. Haruhi looks across from here to the two men and then to the younger boy and realizes maybe for the first time that these men have most likely already talked to her father and knew who she was. so the only real reason she was here was because of her (partially) illegal actions regarding her actions.

Sorry for such a long wait. I'm going to be completely honest, I didn't have a reason to write for a while. But I just got a new computer and a new job which means some more free time and a little more room for inspiration, so I hope this means I will go back to updating regularly. Also sorry its so short its my first chapter back its all i could get for now.
