Welcome to Stuck in the Past! This is a sequel to my story Stuck in the Future, and if you want to understand what goes on in this story I highly suggest that you read that fanfiction first. It's totally worth it. And, welcome back to those who have read Stuck in the Future, I hope you love this story as much as the previous, or even more! Now, without further ado, Chapter 1!

(Even though this fanfic is rated K+, this chapter has descriptions of imprisonment, but nothing bad. Just a quick warning:))

About 20 years in the future...

It was dark. Wet. Dirty. He could feel the vengestone chain wrapped around his left angle, and chains on his wrists, keeping him attached to the wall. He tried to stand up once again, but he proved to be too weak for such a feat. He had a vague idea on how long he had been a prisoner, but was not sure, as the cell had no windows. He knew it had been long enough to become sleep deprived, hungry, and thirsty. They were only fed once a day, or, he thought. Time had now concept at this point.

Jay Walker, the Master of Lightning, has been through something much like this before, years and years ago. He knew, or hoped, he could handle it again. He was older now and much more experienced, so it should be easier, right? Well, maybe if he were alone, but Jay knew that there were two more ninja in the cell with him, even though he could not see them. This made things a whole lot more complicated. Now, he needed to stay strong for the two of them, not just for himself. If he panicked, they would panic too, if he lost hope, they would follow suit. Jay guessed that is just what happened when you are the oldest Ninja present, a literal father to one of them, and a father-figure to the other. He would not lie to himself, though: Jay was very worried.

Jay thought about how his cellmates have been holding up, how well they would continue to hold up, how strong they were. But, he found himself going through their personalities. Anything to distract him from the problems at hand.

Maya Walker-Gordon. His and Nya's daughter. At 17 years old, she had a fun, loveable type personality with a determination that could rival any Ninjago criminal's. If she wanted to rule Ninjago, she would successfully do it, no questions asked. Luckily, she was very kind-hearted, not one to do something like that. She had the tendency to talk really fast, like him, and focused on the important things in life, not panicking about the itty bitty tiny things. Jay wished he could take a page out of her book. Maya had two elements, a very rare condition, Lightning and Water. She was the Hydro-Electric Ninja.

Montgomery, or, Mo. He is only 15, but, like his father, proved that age did not define him. He was Lloyd Garmadon's son, Akita was his mother. Not only did he have Energy, but he could also change into a wolf at will. His Formling DNA proved to be useful in battle, but this soon became his way to deal with stress, transforming from wolf to human consistently. Mo was very wise, much like his great uncle, Wu. He was serious, but could pull very good pranks if he wanted. He was fueled by his team, which was good, but, in situations like these, where there were only three of them, not so good.

The rest of the Ninja Team was currently stuck in Nadakhan's Djinn Blade. Keith, Master of Fire, Liam, Master of Earth, Gila, Master of Sand, and Andy, Master of Ice. Lloyd is the Sensei, and Kai is an assist for training and whatnot. Well, they were until Nadakhan caught them in his blade. Every. Last. One. Jay, Maya, and Mo were the only ones left.

Jay knew the villain's plan. The Djinn wanted to break him, and figured hurting others would push the Blue Ninja off the edge. It hasn't yet, but he sure has been worried about the two young ninjas. Speaking of them, they have been awfully quiet. They could be sleeping, but, in this place, sleep was only a wi一. No, he would not even think that word. Sleep was only a dream. Yea, a dream.

"Maya? Mo? How are you two holding up?" Jay asked, not wanting to wake them, but chances were that they were not sleeping. Jay could hear shuffling in the distance, paired with heavy breathing. Maya and Mo were fortunate to only have a vengestone chain attached to their leg while trapped in this horrid cell. But, then, Jay knew from experience that even that could be a huge hindrance.

His daughter's voice spoke up in the darkness. " We're okay. Mo has turned into a wolf again, I think he is too stressed right now to stay human."

"Is he wounded? He's really quiet. For a human and a wolf." Jay was concerned. Nadakhan was ruthless this time around, forcing the three of them into a long round of Scrap-n-Tap nearly everyday. Jay tried to give the younger ones strength, but found it hard to find it himself.

" I don't know. He's sleeping right now." Maya's voice was dry, probably from the lack of water. But, she did not sound scared, but determined. Just like her mother. At least Nadakhan would not have the privilege of marrying Nya this time, or killing her for that matter.

"Don't wake him. We have enough trouble with Nadakhan even at full strength. Speaking of which, you should try to get some, too. Sleep, I mean. I think Scrap-n-Tap will be in a few hours."

Jay imagined Maya nodding in the darkness as she agreed with him. Then it was silent again. Jay wanted to close his eyes, but fought to stay awake. Someone had to defend them. They could handle their own, sure, but Jay would not let his guard down. It was too risky. Suddenly, Jay heard a poof sound beside him, and knew that he was here. Great.

" I heard someone say my name." Nadakhan said in his smooth, accented voice. The evil Djinn chuckled, and the Blue Ninja felt the Djinn Blade draw close to his neck, but not hit it. Nadakhan and Jay both knew that this time around, gaining infinite wishes was not his priority. The evil mastermind had not made the other ninja make wishes, no, he only struck them with the Blade, trapping them, and that was it. No chance of smarting your way out of it. Nadakhan did not want to fail.

"Hey, Orange Peel, what's up? Did I forget to send you an invite to our tea party down here? Or did I not intend to invite you at all?"

"Oh, no, my little canary, It was I who invited you." He said with a laugh, lighting a candle. Jay could now see everyone, Maya cuddled up in the corner, Mo, as a wolf, curled in on himself, and the Djinjago Prince himself. Nadakhan observed the sleeping ninja, smiling.

"Some people manage to have some sense," the Djinn commented, soon looking towards Jay, "...unlike you. Jay, you may have grown up, but you are still as stubborn as before. Just wish it all away, and I will be happy. Just a few words, and I will free them from their pain."

Jay shook his head. " I know you won't let them go, Orange Peel, and, unlike last time, I have more to fight for than ever. So, good luck. I'm not saying it!"

Nadakhan made his way to Maya and Mo, Jay freezing in fear for them. The villain clanged his sword against the wall, waking Mo and Maya up, Maya screaming in fright and Mo changing back to his human form with a groan. Now that Jay could see them, as they sat up, Jay noticed how pale and thin they were. He probably looked like that, too.

Jay gasped as his greatest enemy put a different sword to his daughter's throat, making her wince in fear. This sword would actually hurt her. If she was struck, she would not be put in the Blade. Something even worse could happen.

"Dad…" Maya whimpered, closing her eyes. Jay could tell that she was so scared. He had to do something.

"Make your final wish, or your precious girl dies. Your choice." Jay's thoughts were rolling around in his head. What should he do? He had to protect his daughter, but if he did, he would not be able to protect them after the fact. Suddenly, he had an idea. Hopefully it worked.

"Fine, I'll make my wish, I promise, just let her go! Please!" Nadakhan smiled at Jay's outburst and promise.

"Good." He drew the sword away from Maya. " Say it!"

" I...I wish...I wish that this is not the time or place that they will be your enemy, but another! But, please, anywhere but the past, especially after we faced the Time Twins!" Nadakhan heard the wish, and smiled.

" Your wish is yours to keep. Though, I cannot promise I will fulfill the last bit, as you did not wish for it, my little canary." Then, the Djinn laughed, and disappeared in a puff of orange smoke, the vengesone ball and chain falling off of Maya's and Mo's feet. Maya wasted no time in reaching her father, soon pulling on the chains that bound him, fighting to free him. Her efforts proved to be useless.

"Dad! Why did you do that? I thought we were never supposed to make wishes! Why didn't you say that you would be free, too? Why? I can't face Nadakhan without you! I'm so scared! We have to get you out of here!" She said, rushing through the words. Jay placed his hand on her knee, trying to calm her.

"It's gonna be okay, you hear me? I think I may have tricked him. You just have to trust me."

"Dad? What do you mean? I一" Maya looked down at her hand, and noticed she was slowly disappearing in orange dust. She looked over at Mo, who was experiencing the same thing.

" I...When I said I did not want you two to face him in the past, I lied. In reality, I want you to go to the past. I used reverse-psychology. He's hopefully sending you there, and if he does, you must get help from the Ninja of the Past. Face Nadakhan in a different time, and save our future. Please." Jay said, talking fast as his family, his pupils, disappeared right in front of him. Mo nodded, before disappearing in a cloud much like the Djinn's himself. Maya, though, looked at her father once more, searching for reassurance.

"Go get him, Maya. I love you." And with orange smoke, Jay was left alone, locked up in a cell, chained. You two are our last hope… Stay strong….I believe in you… Jay thought, before closing his eyes and letting his exhaustion consume him.

That was the first chapter! I know it may be confusing, but all will be explained in further chapters. I hope you enjoyed it. I was so excited when I thought of this sequel.

Have a great day/night, and stay tuned and review! I appreciate and love the feedback!
