Escape is Futile

As I walk I feel eyes on my back,

I turn around to see nothing.

I continue my trek,

a sense of dread quickly rising.

My pace begins to quicken,

as I hear a distant laugh.

I stop in an alley to catch my breath,

when I feel heat against my neck.

I turn to face a being greater than I,

so tall his shadow consumes me.

He backs me into a corner,

trapping me with his arms.

He scanned me like a predator,

I was now his prey.

He neared my neck as I tried to scream,

but a scream never came.

I felt his teeth pierce my skin,

as if two blades were in my neck.

I could feel my life being drained away,

as everything went black.
