Sonic had failed to save himself from the explosion on the Space Colony ARK, thus ending his life at the young age of 15. 12 years later, his younger sister Tara is still struggling from the loss. No matter how much she tries to run from it, the past will never die. Soon enough, she'll realize that she has to face it head on. Rated M for strong language and some eventual violence.

1. Prologue

You've heard the beginning of this story before.

While on the Space Colony ARK, Sonic is sent into space in a capsule, rigged to explode. Eventually, it does so, and he is thought to be dead.

But according to the original story, he came back to his friends unharmed, and eventually, all was well again.

Unfortunately, this is not the same story.

All Sonic's younger sister Tara remembered that day was watching the explosion… then waiting. She waited for so long. It was weeks before she realized he wasn't returning. Since then, she's been hurt, confused, angry.

But, she always lied about how she was, even if it was just to herself. She would much rather bury her feelings deep within than deal with the painful reality.

Not too long after losing Sonic, Eggman was killed at the end of a battle when his base was blown up with him inside.

Life became almost normal for everyone, but they never forgot the hero, brother, and friend they lost.
