The Nomad, a young Time Lord boy, smiled as he observed the control console of his TARDIS. Adjusting and flicking several switches, he eventually stepped away and watched the time rotor light up and begin to rise and fall. He then looked down at the robot dog, plugged into the cylindrical base of the hexagonal console, that had been his faithful companion.

"Sorry, old buddy. We'll need to get you back to home before Romana notices you were gone, K9. Set binary coordinates 10-0-11-0 by 0-2 from Galactic Zero Center."

"Coordinates laid in," K9 responded.

"Engage spatial drive."

"Affirmative. Entering Gallifreyan timezone, Rassilon era."

As the spinning blue box edged closer to The Nomad's home planet in the fury of the space-time vortex, a gaping hole into nothingness suddenly appeared. Tendrils of destruction flared from it, and the TARDIS began to accelerate.

The control room of the TARDIS began to shake, as The Nomad frowned again. "What's going on, K9?"

"Insufficient data."

The Nomad walked over to the console again and flicked the scanner switch. The shutter screen rolled down to reveal the gaping hole, that the TARDIS was speeding for!

"K9, engage maximum overdrive!"

As the walls of the TARDIS began to twist and distort, The Nomad grappled with the controls, trying to put them back on their flight path. The time rotor began to move faster, and faster, until suddenly, everything went black.

Rosalina enjoyed watching the stars with her Lumas. The small Comet Observatory was currently in orbit above the Mushroom planet, when suddenly, one of her Lumas flew over to her from a telescope.

"I just found a new star!" the young and enthusiastic Luma cried.

"A new star?" Rosalina asked incredulously. "Not often we get those."

But as she took the telescope, she did find a stellar phenomenon in an undocumented spot. A flashing light, and a moving one at that. As she zoomed in on it, she was able to see that it was some sort of battered wooden booth. As she focused on the writing, she read the words"POLICE PUBLIC CALL BOX". The small lamp on top of it was the light her Luma had noticed.

"Bring it in using the tractor beam," Rosalina said. "It looks like a human object, I want a closer look at this."

The Luma scurried away, and Rosalina followed.

The Nomad opened his eyes on the floor of the TARDIS. Looking up, he saw the familiar pulsing white ceiling, and was relieved that it was still there. Jumping up, he examined the control room, to find K9 still plugged into the console.

"K9!" The Nomad shouted.

"I have regained control, Master. TARDIS has stabilized."

"Are we at Gallifrey?"

"Negative, Master."

"I thought we got free from that anomaly."

"Affirmative. But Gallifrey is not on sensors."

Somewhat confused, The Nomad tapped the scanner control. "Mhm... the star placement is different, there's a nearby M-class planet... and..." The Nomad trailed off as he noticed the Comet Observatory on the screen in front of him. "A battle station!"

"Negative, Master. The station does not contain armaments."

The Nomad noticed the image of the planet and the station were getting bigger. "Well, it seems to be pulling us in."

"Affirmative."

"That's not the only thing that's different," The Nomad began as he checked the computer screen. "The solar system - no, the galaxy is completely differen.t K9, explain everything - that anomaly, the different stars, everything."

"Insufficient data."

The Nomad pondered for a moment. "Extrapolate. For example, is it possible we've traveled, to another dimension?"

"It is possible, Master. Attention! We are coming into land!"

As the TARDIS landed, The Nomad grabbed his Sonic Screwdriver off of the TARDIS console and K9 retracted from the console.

Rosalina walked to the surface of the Observatory as the strange blue box landed next to her. She walked up to it, and reached her hand out to open the door, but before she touched the handle, the door swung open and a young boy's face popped out.

"You operate this station?" The Nomad demanded as he stepped out. Once K9 had rolled out, The Nomad quickly slammed the TARDIS door shut.

"Yes, I do," Rosalina said.

"Good. Nice to meet you, I'm The Nomad," he said, extending his hand. Reluctantly, Rosalina took his hand and shook it.

"What were you doing in space? And how did you breathe?" Rosalina asked.

The Nomad turns around. "I was in my box. It's bigger than it... oh, never mind." He turns back around. "Anyway, bluntly, we're from another universe, K9 and I," The Nomad said, gesturing to the robot dog beside him. "That box is just a disguise for our spacetime vehicle."

Rosalina nodded. "I think I can arrange for you to get back."

"Really?"

"I'll simply have to call on the power of the Origin Star, and we should be good to - " Rosalina trailed off as several of Bowser's airships could be seen moving towards them. "Go..."

"Alright, well K9 and I will stand by in the TARDIS. Come on, let's go!" The Nomad said, beginning to walk towards the TARDIS. But he was interrupted as a cannonball from an airship struck the Comet Observatory, sending the TARDIS flying off into space, and knocking everyone to the ground. The Nomad got up and bolted to the edge of the Observatory, watching the small blue box slowly move away.

"We're under attack!" Rosalina yelled.

Another cannonball struck a huge star in the middle of the area they stood on, launching it away into space, and the attacks were becoming more fast and furious.

"Master! This unit infers destruction of the installation within two minutes!" K9 cried. But The Nomad couldn't hear him.

Bowser laughed as his fleet of airships pounded the Comet Observatory. Already, the Origin Star had been broken up. Kamek flew over, moving next to the Koopa King.

"King Bowser," Kamek said. "An unidentified object is drifting next to the Observatory."

"Magnify," Bowser commanded.

On the screen in front of them, The Nomad almost chasing after the TARDIS as it drifted away could be seen. As the screen zoomed in on the blue box, Bowser smiled. "Seems important to them. Bring it in."

The grappling hooks attached to the TARDIS and dragged it towards the lead airship as The Nomad finally made his way to K9. Over the cacophony, The Nomad shouted, "try firing at our attackers!"

The small laser attached to K9's nose extended and a red beam lanced out from it, striking one of the airships, to little effect.

"Negligible damage, Master!"

Bowser walked down to the cargo bay where the blue box stood in front of him.

"Open it," Bowser said.

Two of the strongest Koopatrols onboard attempted to both push and pull open the doors of the box, to no avail.

"Out of my way!" Bowser shouts, pushing fast them and trying to breathe fire on the box. Again, nothing happened. Bowser looked behind him and nodded to Kamek, who raised his wand. However, before he could do anything, the lamp on the box began to flash. A wheezing, groaning sound filled the air and the box faded away, dematerializing.

With the artificial gravity of the Observatory visibly failing, The Nomad found keeping his footing difficult. As the cannonball that would almost certainly ensure his death was launched, he heard an impossible sound. He turned around to see the TARDIS materializing!

"Get in!" The Nomad shouted, and ran over to the battered blue booth. Inserting his key in the lock and turning it, he pushed open the door, and bustled in, followed by K9, rolling in, and then Rosalina. With everyone in, The Nomad tapped the door control, and it closed.

"Impressive," Rosalina said, looking around at the large control room. Roundels with pulsing white light dotted the walls of the room, and then Rosalina's attention shifted to the control console, which The Nomad was operating.

"I'll put us down on the nearby planet. Maybe then we can get some help to get back your Origin Star," The Nomad said, pulling the dematerialization lever. "Good thing the TARDIS homed in on me when she did."

"I wouldn't be so sure," Rosalina said. "There's another person in here."

"That'd be the mind of the TARDIS. She's not just a machine, you know."

"I'm not so sure," Rosalina said.

Rosalina raised her wand closed her eyes. When they opened, a much older woman, a Time Lady, was standing before her.

The Nomad gasped. "Lady President! What are you doing here?!"

I know this one was a little short, but I hope you guys enjoyed it. I wanted to set the stage a little bit for the adventure so stay tuned for Chapter 2.
