"A date that will live in infamy."

-Franklin D. Roosevelt December 8, 1941.

Ginza ,Tokyo, Japan

It was a normal day in one of the most important cities in the world. People continued with their normal routine, even with the mysterious disappearances of the past few days that scared people and had the police on high alert. They worked or enjoyed their lives not knowing that many would embrace eternal darkness.

Everyone went on as usual until the traffic was interrupted by a structure that seemed to appear out of nowhere, obstructing traffic on the main streets of Ginza.

It was a strange structure resembling a large gate that quickly attracted the attention of those who did not know what it was, curiosity attracted many people, some even took out their phones to record or take pictures of the structure.

Many asked questions about what was happening. Questions that were suddenly answered when a light suddenly appeared inside the structure. The light increased alarmingly only to end in an explosion that destroyed everything in its path, even nearby vehicles flying out, crushing many innocent people.

Panic spread throughout the area, people tried ro escape without looking back to save themselves from whatever that was. It was a stampede of terrified people running and screaming in the chaos.

In the midst of everything, you could hear some screams that came from inside the structure and then what seems to be the sound of war trumpets. Thus begins a battle that was never thought could happen.

The beginning of everything

Everything turned into chaos, soldiers from fantasy story accompanied by war beasts swept everything in their path. Each of them seemed to have different supernatural abilities. Some of them were Warriors with superhuman strength and speed capable of killing multiple civilians in seconds. Others were Archers who could fire arrows at the speed of a bullet. They also possessed blue or orange color arrows that could explode like a projectile from a grenade launcher when they made contact with their targets. Many were Mages who could launch elemental attacks capable of devastating everything in their path.

Things were horrible in Ginza, people were slaughtered in horrible ways, being captured and enslaved or worse, being eaten alive by horrible monsters that were advancing through the streets. Soon the corpses became so many that they would accumulate into mounds and the blood of the innocents would spread in a heinous scene.

The situation was horrible and everything got worse when many strange portals appeared throughout the Chūō region bringing a huge number of soldiers of different species apparently that occupied almost the entire region of the city.

Incredibly, the number of rapes and looting by the invading soldiers was minimal except for some soldiers in Roman clothing, who would soon be arrested for delaying the conquest. The troops had a mission to fulfill first. The rape and looting had to wait after the conquest of the capital.

As expected, the number of calls to the police was huge, and despite what was initially thought to be a large-scale joke with bad taste, they quickly realized the gravity of the situation. In a short time, police forces were mobilized to try to contain the situation as long as possible until the army arrived, unfortunately their efforts were in vain. Because when they came to help the civilians and fight the invaders, they were literally slaughtered.

At first some of them could be killed, but the accompanying wizards quickly created what looked like blue energy shields that rendered conventional infantry firearms useless. From afar, Archers with their arrows and Wizards with their magic unleashed powerful attacks devastated Japan's police forces. They along with war beasts that apparently immune to damage, made these clashes completely one sided.

In close combat, Warriors using their superhuman abilities to kill everything ahead. Their magic shield were able to resist multiple 5,56 mm bullets from the anti-riot police and their magic swords could cut through police shield with ease. And to put salt to the wound, every non-fatally wounded soldier was healed by the magicians making their losses very few.

The bodies of the poor defenders were soon scattered everywhere and even so, some still firmly held their position.

"We have to resist as long as possible until the military arrive," said a policeman to the rest of the comrades who were still standing.

"It is impossible, the only option now will be to go back or we will all die uselessly." replied one of his companions with noticeable fear in his voice.

"We can't retreat yet, there are people who are still fleeing the place, if we run away, innocents will die, we have to hold on until ..." the policeman's voice froze when he looked at something that was appearing in the sky.

"What! is that ?! "

Two portals appeared in the sky and two giant red dragons wearing black armor appeared from them. They let out a loud roar and began to burn everything in their path. All opposition was wiped out from the area, people were turned to ashes and soon vanished with the wind. The dragon flame was even capable of melting concrete buildings and streets.

Triple Alliance Main Camp, Ginza

Tiberius laughed at what he was seeing, the Japanese were running like cowards and the only ones who could stop their advance were very weak soldiers who seemed to have some strange gunpowder weapons, but the power of the triple alliance armies defeated them with very little casualties.

There was no doubt that they would win. How could these barbarians defeat hundreds of thousands of soldiers, battle beasts and two fire dragons of the mightiest empires!

"Watch Fafner, you said I was going to have a tough campaign and it turned out to be easy, these barbarians are nothing compared to us." Tiberius said arrogantly.

Fafner rolled his eyes. "This result is due to the surprise attack, their armies will arrive at any moment, we have to prepare." said Fafner.

The elf general saw the buildings. They were big and beautiful although they were quite repetitive, in his mind he knew that it would not be an easy task, but he did not think of a defeat seeing the current results.

"It would be better to go back to Thorin, he is waiting for us to plan our next steps" Fafner said to Tiberius.

The two of them went to the operations center of the main camp only to receive some hostility from the dwarf general

"Why did it take so long?" asked Thorin

"Calm down, we were just seeing how the barbarians are being defeated." said Tiberio

"I think calling them barbarians is lowering them too much, my soldiers brought me some of their weapons and I must admit that they have an incredible design and from the reports from the battle front they are very lethal, better than the ones in Falmart that are useless against magic, perhaps in the future we could replicate them to help the conquest. "Thorin spoke with a positive tone about Japanese weapons.

Tiberio was a bit surprised by the words of the dwarf general, it was unusual for the dwarf to say such positive things about the metallurgy of others. The dwarf arrogance on those topics was well known, which worried him for a few seconds even though he tried to ignore those feelings.

"If what you say is true then you have to order that they capture all the possible ones, and if it is necessary to capture enemy soldiers to learn how to use them" Tiberio commented

"You are right, I will give the order as soon as possible to bring all the possible ones, I am sure that the great dwarf blacksmiths will manage to discover their secrets" said Thorin.

The elf general said nothing, just listened to his companions, disparaging things or compliments depending on who he was talking to until he interrupted them.

"Tiberio and Thorin, I understand the points of view of the two but we have to plan the future of the conquest of this kingdom." Fafner said while he took something out of his armor.

"What is that?" asked Tiberius

"It is apparently a very detailed map of the kingdom of Japan, the troop took it from a university and brought it to me. With this we could have better planning for our next steps." Fafner spoke.

Tiberio seemed somewhat confused by the words of his partner. "A map of Japan? You won't believe that information, right? Don't you remember the information we got from the prisoners and all the nonsense we got out of them. It is obvious that most of them are a blatant lie of the enemy, surely to confuse any aggressor. "said the general of Sadera.

"Tiberio is right, everything the prisoners say is impossible, we cannot trust that information." said Thorin supporting Tiberio.

Fafner did not say anything for a few seconds due to his doubt on the matter. The things that the kidnapped prisoners said along with what the wizards took out were ridiculous. Instant communications around the world, nations with millions of men in their armies, kingdoms with ridiculous populations despite their size, and weapons with the ability to destroy entire cities. Impossible things like that were ignored for being too exaggerated, just a kind of washing brain of the population.

"I have also thought about that, maybe our magicians are wrong or maybe these people believe in lies of the kingdom, we did not bring any medusae to verify 100% the secrets of the enemy, but something clear is that if we capture their capital possibly the rest fall from his kingdom like any other that has been conquered in the past. "

"Then we must move fast, this information is surely false, we must teach the Japanese who we are" said Tiberius almost shouting.

In general, elf and dwarf did not say anything, they only nodded, for the moment they would doubt any Japanese information, they will simply follow their plans for the time being to turn Japan into a vassal state of the triple empires, to launch others in the future conquests, they have long-term plans as they had the means to create other stable portals to this world.

During the next hours the main camp was expanded and fortified not only with wizards and battle beasts but also with the extremely large and incredibly lethal dwarf cannons, they were used as artillery and have a great range. The alliance was confident with everything they had prepared. Now they just had to wait for the results of the upcoming battle. But they were sure of the triumph in the capital. The triple alliance has never been defeated in the past, united they were invincible.

Events on the front lines

The armies of the Triple Alliance advanced like an avalanche on the city. They couldn't be defeated, the enemy caused few casualties, having a combined force of 290,000 combat units made them impossible to defeat.

The elves advanced on the Taitō region, the dwarves advanced on Chiyoda, taking the imperial palace that fortunately no one important was found at the time and the human army advanced on the Minato region.

"Keep moving, this city must fall before nightfall." shouted a Sadera centurion to the troops under his command that were advancing on the streets of the Minato region. Their advance was apparently impossible to stop, but in the middle of some streets they were attacked from the left. Sounds of thunder and then a large number of soldiers fell to the ground dead, the army had arrived.

The first JSDF forces clashed with the invaders, massacring the invading soldiers. The ancient soldiers tried to protect themselves with Testudo formation only to have the Howa Type 89 assault rifles pierce through them with ease.

The wizards stepped forward on the front lines and created magic defenses to repel the attacks and although they were successful even with the 7.62 mm bullets, the same could not be said for the weapons of the vehicles. For example, the M2HB machine gun on the Type 96 armored personnel carrier, which fired 12.7 mm rounds could easily penetrate the shields causing a huge number of casualties. Slowly but surely the invaders were pushing back.

As the Japanese forces advanced, voices could be heard from a group of mages in a language most Japanese soldiers did not know and soon a wall of ice appeared in front of them, blocking their way.

The ice structure created by this magic seems to be very strong as it could resist the high caliber weapons the JSDFs were firing, at least for a while, but before collapsing due to accumulating damage, something broke the barrier.

Strange beings about 3 meters tall made of iron (with an appearance similar to that of a Frost Atronach from Skyrim), appeared in front of the Japanese forces. They were very intimidating creatures, especially because of their clawed could go through everything.

The great iron beasts advanced with astonishing speed (despite their size and weight) straight towards the JSDF soldiers. Shots rang out in a desperate attempt to bring down the iron beings, all to no avail. The 12.7 mm bullets ricocheted off them like nothing, even the 40mm automatic grenade launcher couldn't do enough damage to stop them.

The iron creatures tore apart the Japanese soldiers. The golems crushed them like insects, hurled them into the air like torn dolls and dismembered them with the strange claws they possessed. Even armored vehicles suffered a similar fate as they were ripped apart by the supernatural force of the iron golems.

In other places, the results were similar, the JSDF forces were not prepared for these types of beings, more powerful anti-tank weapons, explosive weapons or tanks were needed to stop them.

Other beings also complicated the battlefront.

Giant spiders could spewed acid so strong that it melted everything it touched and had armor so hard that it required weapons like the Browning M2 machine gun and plenty of ammo to finish them off.

Large fire salamanders capable of launching fire and ambushing unsuspecting soldiers by burying themselves underground and attacked them by surprise. Those reptiles were hard to kill due to their super regeneration.

These monsters inflicted heavy casualties on the JSDF and caused the battle to last longer than anyone could have imagined.

(In the sky)

A brutal confrontation between the wyvern lord and the Japanese attack helicopter, although the latter were more focused on stopping the dragons that were turning part of the city into hell.

Modern forces had many advantages but the number of enemies was much greater, they had to kill and dodge everything that was thrown at them. The wyven were attacking with elemental attacks, such as fire or strange ice structures from their mouths to the surprise of the Japanese forces.

In the middle of the battle one of the helicopters fired an anti-tank missile at one of the dragons in the arm, but the armor along with its thick scales protected it from almost all damage. The only thing it did was enrage the beast, the fire dragon directed its efforts to destroy the helicopters that dared to attack it.

(In the city)

The battle turned into a terrible and bloody affair that few could imagine. The clashes in a city like Tokyo generated many problems for the military forces. It prevented them from using weapons such as heavy artillery (at the moment because there were many innocent people in the occupied city) or maneuvering their tanks or calling in air strike.

In another circumstance this battle would have lasted a couple of hours at best with all the enemy soldiers slaughtered, but the environment and their skills and beasts caused a stalemate.

The battles on the ground and in the air would last much longer than anyone would have believed. A battle between technology and magic, something that existed only in the imagination and never thought possible in real life, was happening.

The Japanese government

When they were told that the capital was being attacked they could not believe it, even more so when they were told that those responsible were fantasy army, they thought it was a very cruel joke.

But as time went by they realized that everything is real and the attack was being devastating for the city.

Sectors of the city were completely invaded.

In Shinbashi, the Dentsu building collapsed due to a massive attack from one of the dragons, if it had not collapsed you could see it melting like a candle.

Sectors like Nihonbashiningyocho were now only a graveyard from the attacks of the invader's beasts.

All the military forces near and far were called to contain the enemy, they knew that they were not normal beings, they informed the United States to receive constant support for the fight for the capital.

The prime minister said a few words about this event to the entire Japanese population:

"My Japanese compatriots, I must inform you about a horrible tragedy. The capital is being invaded by an unknown enemy that does not come from this world. Apparently they are of extraterrestrial origin. At the moment, our troops are fighting to try to contain the invader. We do not know who they are but no matter the cost we will prevail. I ask everyone to prepare for the challenging days ahead that our country will face"

Second Lieutenant, Yoji Itami

How had this happened? Those words were in my head since everything started, a normal day to go to an anime convention turned into hell by an invader that I never thought I would face. A dream I always had where I was taken to a fantasy world for a ridiculous adventure now just a nightmare in an ironic twist.

I never had these emotions before, I was a soldier, it was very clear to me, but I had no experience in combat, nor did I believe that I would face such a strange invasion.

When this cataclysm began, I tried to evacuate as many people as possible but the great dragons burned everything in their path and those strange creatures could destroy any obstacle. I thought the Imperial palace would protect us but it was useless. Lucky for us the JSDF came at the right time.

Now we had to drive the invaders back to their place of origin, but that was easier said than done.

The enemies were more problematic than we thought, their magic and war beasts could fight against our weapons, fortunately their losses were greater than ours.

The fighting lasted until nightfall and no one seemed to want to lose ground. Some of our soldiers were burned alive by traps that looked like magic runes on the ground, barely detectable, or killed by salamanders that appeared unexpectedly at our feet or were eaten by hydra, dissolved in acid by spiders and other forms of murder that would surely be in my nightmares.

And in the middle of the battle now I am surrounded ...

"God, I hate giant spiders!" I spoke with hatred, words I never thought I would say seriously in my life.

We had fallen into a trap being trapped along with other soldiers while a group of huge green spiders trapped us in a building, these wretches cornered us and worst of all, our weapons seem not to work against them. They looked like beings out of science fiction rather than out of a fantasy world.

"Don't let them eat me!" a soldier in my group begged me fearfully, you could see he lost an arm, acid from the arachnids.

"I won't let them, soldier!" was the only thing I said.

For the next few minutes we fought with all we had, the minutes seemed like hours against the beasts, leaving us between a rock and a hard place. Luckily for us a Type 90 Kyū-maru tank appeared and finished off our enemies, turning them into pieces of meat with its 12.7 mm machine gun.

"If there is a god, let him bless the tanks." I said with all possible honesty.

(several minutes later)

"Are you okay?" ask my injured partner after leaving the place.

"Yeah, just a little bruised honestly, these kinks were ..." my words were interrupted by a roar.

The calm disappeared when one of the dragons could be seen forcibly landing near our location. It appeared that he was superficially injured and had difficulty flying properly. In his jaws you could see he had the remains of a Boeing AH-64 Apache, good men killed by these abominations.

The beast's gaze was directed towards us, preparing to kill us.

At that moment the tank was shot directly at the dragon head with 120mm APFSDS shell but as expected the beast survived, enraged, the beast attacked the tank and with its jaws grabbed it, destroying it on the spot.

"We have to get out of here or we will all die!" screamed one of my colleagues, almost desperate.

We all retreated while the dragon was still busy destroying what was left of the tank. He was furious at backing away, but it didn't matter, soon this would be over, I'm sure.

10 hours later

The enemy conquered large sectors of Tokyo, but their advances were getting slower after every hour. The Japanese were able to stabilize the front after suffering heavy casualties. They brought in heavy weapons like tanks, large caliber weapons, even naval forces like Asagiri-class destroyers.

Main Camp, Ginza, Tokyo

Many hours later.

Tiberius was furious, they thought the city should have fallen by now but it seems the natives were stronger than they thought, even one of the dragons was injured in battle. How could they not only penetrate armor made of enchanted ebony, but also dragon scales?

To make matters worse, the reports from the scouts in the front reported thousands of casualties and a great stalemate. They also spoke of large steel elephants that began to appear in large numbers that could destroy the gollems before they came close to attack, like birds of steel that were responsible for many Wyvern losses and wounding one of the great dragons.

"How is it possible? They were supposed to be weak barbarians. How the hell are we being contained?" asked Tiberius, with a voice full of anger and frustration.

"We underestimate them, we thought it would be an easy victory with our magic, but apparently our enemy also has great magical abilities like us." Thorin replied.

"It's not magic." said Fafner.

"What?" Tiberius asked incredulously.

"For more than a century of life, I had been able to feel magic on a target, but their machines have none of that, it was pure steel. At first I thought that I was just making a mistake or that somehow the enemy could camouflage their magic essence but now I'm sure there is nothing there." said the elf general seriously.

"How is it possible? It would take a long time to create something like that and it would be impossible to make it move." said the dwarf skeptically about Fafner's words.

"I don't know, but we made a mistake!" for the first time in a long time the elf was worried.

"Even if it is true, we can still win, we outnumber them even if we cannot continue advancing. After taking their capital we can bring more forces from our territory. We didn't bring our elite forces. Each of our empires has nearly a million soldiers along with a hundred thousand battle beasts including a large number of dragons and the great dwarf monsters we can win this conflict." said the human general firmly.

Tiberius's words were true, they did not bring the best for the subjugation of this kingdom and that gave them hope of winning despite having certain fears. Now he had to plan how to win or at least contain this strange enemy.

In the midst of plans for new strategies to end enemy threats, Thorin came up with something.

"I have an idea, which will not solve all our problems, but maybe we can stop the steel elephants, which would lighten the load."

"What would that be?" Tiberius asked.

"Iron gollems use a mana crystal that helps them to have their supernatural abilities."

"what is the point? "

"The point is that if the crystal is damaged very abruptly, it will produce a devastating explosion. Under normal circumstances that would be impossible due to the resistance of the glass but the gollems can be destroyed if necessary by themselves. Although I must warn you that this tactic would cost us the long the most powerful creatures of our land army."

"In these circumstances you have to take the risk, I hope Thorin idea works or else we will have serious problems." Tiberius spoke with a serious tone.

"With the current results we are in trouble Tiberio, the only thing we can do is fight to wear down our enemy." said Fafner as he left the place.

"Where are you going Fafner?"

"I will help the situation of our men a little, so that it's not so horrible. Apparently, a metal ship is killing many of our men. I'll take care of it."

When he came out of the tent, he summoned a Wyvern to lift him up into the skies and prepared to launch a long-range attack that only a prodigy could do.

Fafner braced himself, strange runes appeared around him and he launched an attack that looked like a plasma rain directly at the metal ship that exploded, killing the entire crew.

(What he destroyed, was an Asagiri-class destroyer that was supporting the Japanese troops)

Fafner then unleashed a similar attack against a platoon of tanks.

A show of power to make this world fear prodigies, though there was no denying that Fafner had trouble unleashing those attacks.

"Damn it, I think I overdid those attacks and I didn't bring any magic potions for recovery." He spoke introspectively while looking a bit exhausted as if a normal person had exercised.

"I would like to help the troops but I am sure they will attack the base, I must defend it, I just hope we can win." Fafner returned with the other generals.

(Results of the day)

Falmart's forces occupied most of Chūō, also parts of Minato, Chiyoda, and Taitō.

Japanese forces supported by US troops halted the invader's advance overnight resulting in a stalemate.

Second day of battle

The world was watching carefully of what was happening in Japan, an attack from another world and the Japanese were trying to expel them from their homeland, many brave men died for it.

Japanese soldiers were advancing on Shinkawa to clear it of any invaders. A large group of forces advanced near the Japanese Language School, Tokyo Galaxy, a university that was attacked in the first hours of the invasion where the students were captured or died mainly from collateral damages.

"Those damn bastards will pay!" said a Japanese soldier angrily at the things he saw the day before.

"Keep the focus Kaien, we have work to do." said one of his colleagues.

"How is it possible that they have taken so much of the city?" Kaien asked unable to understand what happened.

"According to survivors who escaped, several portals were opened and after a few hours they disappeared, their magic and their two dragons did the rest, only the Ginza GATE is open and from what I have heard it is 3 times bigger than in the beginning."

"Well, anyway, one of his dragons according to the army could have been wounded and when some of the dragons fly again, the 201st Squadron, F-15J / D will come and finish them off in a short time."

"Wait, isn't it supposed that you can't attack with this type of weapon so close to the city?" spoke the soldier named Daichi.

"Do you want the dragons to keep killing and destroying everything in their path until the helicopters kill them?"

Daichi's answer was a nod.

"It's risky but there's no other way to do it faster."

No one can deny that.

As they moved forward, they couldn't help but notice that it was too quiet.

"Where are they?"

"Surely they already escaped."

When they crossed a street, two gollems appeared seemingly out of nowhere.

"But how? ..."

Unfortunately Kaien could not finish his sentence as the gollems grab the tank and in less than 3 seconds they exploded with tremendous force killing almost everything around.

Kaien miraculously survived, despite being severely wounded. He lay on the ground unable to move because of his wound.

"Shit ... you sons of bitches!" Kaien said in his weak voice.

He couldn't see clearly, stunned he could only see an approaching shadow.

"I'm here ... help!" he yelled with all the might of him hoping that what he was seeing was Japanese.

Unfortunately it was a large lizard walking on all fours approaching him. Kaien quickly pulled out a pistol firing in an attempt to stop the beast, only to see with his eyes that the bullets seemed to have no effect and any wound seemed to regenerate.

As expected, he tried to run away, his instincts screamed at him to survive despite everything, but as expected he was unsuccessful and the beast caught him.

Kaien screamed, his body was being pierced by the teeth of the beast and for a few seconds he remembered his childhood, his mother's embrace, his father's look of pride and the woman I love so much smiling at having her son.

Kaien dropped one last tear and the darkness called out to him.

...

He was one of many soldiers who died a tragic death but they were not the last as other explosions were heard in other parts of the occupied city, almost at the same time.

Suicide attacks were very effective, they appeared out of nowhere. The JSDF didn't know what happened, as if the enemies were made invisible. When the armored vehicles were wiped out, a mix of soldiers, wizards, and battle beasts exterminated the unfortunate who survived or captured them.

The generals of the Triple Alliance smiled when they were told the results. The strategy would be changed somewhat. The day before, the Wyverns would attack a target with everything they had to overwhelm it. Now the battle beasts would try to use the environment to their advantage, the soldiers also had to take advantage of the buildings to attack instead of going in directly.

At the moment they were sure of a victory, the armies of the Triple Alliance were enormous, they could not lose, they had overcome all obstacles, this would be no different.

Battle events of day 2

The sounds of the explosions could be heard from a distance constantly.

This new type of strategy on the part of the triple alliance resulted in heavy Japanese casualties as they were unable to detect the golems in time.

The attack was so successful that the Japanese forces had to withdraw from many places due to the heavy casualties they suffered, just further proof that this war would not be easy.

The only problem was that the golems could not last forever despite their numbers, this tactic could not be maintained for long.

Forces with magical components advanced into regions devastated by suicide attacks supported by their battle beasts.

The same could not be said of their air forces, the Wyverns suffered many casualties by the modern air forces despite their best efforts.

Seeing that the invading force advanced again, the Japanese decided to bomb and destroy every nearby structure to devastate the enemy forces. They even tried to attack the main camp, but mysteriously each attack was apparently repelled by the same individual who destroyed the ship.

For the remainder of the second day, the battle escalated, causing Falmart's forces to be finally stopped at dusk.

This war had only just begun
