Bridgette walked back and forth, causing Geoff to be irritated. "Try to relax," he said while slitting on the bench near the door way. He was going through his feed on his phone. Truth be told, Geoff was nervous for his friend. He knew that if Duncan was pressed charges, it would be over.

"relax? You're best friend is sitting in the jail cell, so how can you stay so calm," Bridgette said. She wanted to kick that phone out of her boyfriend's hand."

Suddenly, the door open. "Bridgette." Courtney ran towards her. "Where is he?"

"I don't know. They won't tells us," Bridgette said. She then notice John was here. Then she noticed the dress. "Oh, I didn't know you two were having a dinner date."

"It's okay. Just tell me where they hold him." Bridgette pointed towards the opposite of the doorway. "I'll be right back." And Courtney preceded to go through.

"No one enters through here." Courtney was stopped by a police offer.

"I'm Duncan lawyer, so I have the right to talk to my client," Courtney said. The offer than backed away, and Courtney then proceeded to walk inside where she saw Duncan laying in the jail cell.

"Did you finally bring me something to eat," Duncan said, not noticing Courtney was here.

"You got arrested, and all you can think of is food."

Duncan sprinted up when realizing that voice was Courtney. "What are you doing here," he asked.

"I'm here to get you out." Courtney stepped closer. "What happen, Duncan."

Duncan got up and walked towards where Courtney was standing behind the bars. "I don't know. All I remember is that someone jumped on me, then the next minute, the police came."

Courtney got a clearer view of Duncan bruise. "Oh, Duncan..." it must have felt painful on him. "Did you a least get medical check."

"Oh, this..." Duncan touched his bruise. "This is nothing. I have been in worst situations than before."

"Did they say what you're arrested for?" Courtney ask.

Duncan nods his head. "No, they just told me I'm under arrest."

"Than by law, you shouldn't be detained if they have a reasoning. Before right back." Courtney walked out of the area.

She still the same as ever, Duncan thought. He sigh while sitting down. Why was she here... even though Duncan knew she was taken, he still feels...

The door open. "You're free to go." The officer said.

Duncan stood up. "Am I being charged?"

"No, but if you stand here, you will be."

"Good day sir." Duncan remarked as he left the unit. There was Geoff.

"Duncan, my man." He gave a punch to his shoulder. "What is it like being a free man."

"Ask me the next time I get arrested."

Then he notice Courtney was talking to someone. Bridgette notice. "That's Courtney fiancé, Josh," she said. "Don't do anything stupid."

"Relax. If you think I'm going to destroy their relationship, then you are wrong," Duncan said. Courtney then walked towards them.

"I told them that if they didn't have any evidence that you started the fight, they can't charge you," Courtney said.

"How can I make this up to you," Duncan said. "Especially since I ruined your special night for having to bail out your best friend boyfriend friend."

"It's okay." Courtney said. "This was the better part of the night."

"I see." Duncan notice Josh was walking towards him.

"Oh, this is my fiancé." Courtney introduced him.

"Nice to meet you," Josh said.

"Yeah." Duncan didn't do greetings, but he was surprise to meet him so soon.

Courtney grabbed her bags. "I have to go," Courtney said. "If there is any trouble regarding this situation, please call me first." She handed him a business card. "I'll talk to you later, Bridgette."

Courtney left the station with Josh, leaving the rest behind.

"What do you say, man. Shall we head back," Geoff said. It was getting late, as they both had work tomorrow.

"I can drive you guys back home." Bridgette looked at the time at her watch.

As they went out of the station, Duncan began to speak, "why did you call Courtney." He asked Bridgette who was at her car door.

"She was the only lawyer I knew." Bridgette replied, getting her car keys out of her pocket. "It's funny, because I was talking to her at her office, she told me you guys met up... the conversation was briefly. Her father showed up."

It then hit Duncan. "Her father was there? Why would he do that?"

"Because he owns the building, Duncan. Now, get inside the car before I drive away without you."

"Fine." Duncan got inside the passenger seat, and Bridgette drove away, far away from the station.

"That was a day," Josh said as he stepped inside along with Courtney at their place.

"Sorry about everything," Courtney said while sitting on the couch. "I

"It's okay." Josh sat beside her. "And besides," he wrapped his arms around her shoulders, "I am not the one who should be apologizing for."

"I'll call him tomorrow. I'd rather not hear him yelling at me through the phone," Courtney said.

"I'll talk tell him that there was something we forgot to do, as your dad always believes me," John said, kissing Courtney's forehead.

"You don't have to cover for me," Courtney said. "I'm tried, so I think I'll head to bed." The time she looked, it was getting very late.

"I'll be there soon."

Courtney nodded and headed right to the bedroom.

The next day, Courtney walked to her office.

"Ms Davis, there's 8 am appointed waiting for you," her secretary said.

"My appointment?" Courtney didn't remember booking one. She quickly went to her office, where Duncan was sitting there. "Duncan?"

Duncan turned around to see Courtney standing at her door. She was holding a cup of coffee, while other arm carried her case folders.

"What are you doing here." Courtney went to her desk and placed the coffee and folders right on top. "I mean, I know I said you can call me if you're having problems, but I never said come over uninvited."

"Sorry about that," Duncan said, "but I needed to talk to you."

"And you couldn't call, because?"

"I need you to look over this." Duncan slipped a note. "It's my other case files, just to see if I am really a free man."

"This is number to a jail?' Courtney figured he's been there. "This is beyond my reach. I can't clear your permeant record." She then remember something. "There is actually someone who can help you, uh, let me go get their number. Wait just a second."

Courtney got up and left the office. As soon the door close, Duncan immediately got up and walked around. Where is it, he thought. Then, he stopped when noticing a picture frame. He picked it up, and felt something. He turned around to see his suspicion was right, "nice try." He ripped off and immediately crashed into his pocket. Duncan than placed the frame back, but didn't notice that the women next to her dad looked familiar.

"That's my mom." Duncan was started to see Courtney entered without knocking.

"I didn't mean to snoop around."

"It's okay." Courtney walked towards Duncan. "I got the number."

"Oh, look at the time, I need to head out." Duncan placed the picture frame down and proceeded to walk out.

"What about the number," Courtney said.

"Like you said, there's a phone for that." Duncan immediately left the building and walked a few blocks before taking out both his phone and...

"Bridgette, it's me. Don't hang up... listen, I know you're at the library right now. There is something you have to do... let's just say a little birdie is watching us," Duncan said while holding the crushed up microchip in his hand before throwing it into the puddle of water.
