Chapter 1: Night Tour

In a cold night in February, two 5-4 Detective's Squad members, Detective First Grade Danny Reagan and Detective Maria Baez were on their way to get a coffee, when Central gave a call of shots fired in the Bitterman Projects.

"We are like 2 blocks out." Baez said, and Danny grabbed the radio.

"5-4 Detective's Squad to Central, show us responding to the shots fired." Danny told the Dispatcher, and they immediately started the car and headed to the call.

Upon arrival, both exited their vehicle with their weapons out when more shots fired were heard on the left side of the Projects, immediately Danny made a hand signal for him to go on the left and Baez to cover him by going to the back of the left side.

"POLICE!" Danny yelled, no response.

"NYPD, ANYONE THERE?" Danny kept yelling, until he heard a word.

"H-Help!" Someone said faintly.

When Danny heard that, he carefully moved to the position where the individual called for help, during that time Baez was securing the scene. Danny found a person laying behind a wall, bleeding out from a Gunshot Wound to the abdomen, after he saw that, he grabbed the radio.

"5-4 Detectives Squad, requesting a 10-85 and a Bus forthwith at this location, read; Male shot at this location." Danny told the Dispatcher

"Hang on, alright? Help is coming, hold on." He told the person down.

Baez approached Danny and tried to help him to keep the individual alive until FDNY EMS got on-scene, but it was too late as he bled out. Minutes after that, the first RMP arrived on scene, securing it, closing it off and called the ME's Office and CSU.

"You alright, danny?" Baez said while she was looking at Danny's direction.

"Yeah… I am good." He responded.

CSU started working the scene, and they tried to find the casing, but nothing turned up.

"Detective Reagan!" A CSU Detective yelled.

"What is it?" Danny responded.

"We can't find anything, not even the casing." CSU Detective told Reagan

"The shooter must picked it up, I guess." Baez stated.

Some minutes later, the M.E. arrived and inspected the body for a while.

"Hey, Reagan." The M.E. on shift said.

"Yeah?" He responded.

"Looks like he bled out, but I can't see a bullet or an exit wound, I will find the bullet once I finish the autopsy. Come by tomorrow evening for the results." The M.E said, while the Assistant Coroners brought the stretcher to load the body in the van.

"Alright, thanks." Danny sighed after he said that.

After that, CSU finished processing the scene, and the ME's Van left to go to the Morgue, then the scene was released by NYPD Uniformed Officers.
