It had been 20 years since the calamity befell the kingdom and decapitated the government.
The Lanayru Islands had, on the surface, been untouched by the cataclysm, but all sense of direction had been lost and the villages simply lived day to day.
(Mercay Town) It was the coronation day for the new chief, while his father had been beloved his son was more of an outlier, being young wasn't the problem(he was plenty wise) the problem was his political views, especially those on the late royal family "my fellow Hylians and Zora, the time has come to recognize that the times that we once knew have passed and that we must adapt to the new times that have befallen us, we need to stand together not have the nobility, lords, priests, and shamans standing against the peasant and the honest, hard working man," the young chief's sharp blue eyes panned over the assembled Hylians and Zora, taking careful note of how the nobles and lords made sure to distance themselves from the peasants,
"It has come to my attention that the rapidly rising bread prices are threatening the very livelihoods of the common family,"
Many nods came from the peasants, while the people on the islands mainly ate fish, they still needed bread and other simple starches in order to continue to thrive
"In order to combat this my first decree will be a request, I 'request' that the nobility, lords, and priests surrender half of their land and Rupees to the state in order for equal redistribution to the peasants so that they can live. In trying times like these, in which the gods have abandoned us and the King and his daughter have perished, we must stand together and not be separated by unbridgeable divides in wealth and property, Hyrule united under Hylia!"
He then turned back into the town hall with the loud cheers of the peasants and the slow clapping of the aristocracy to his back, "well done Elijah, couldn't have worded it better myself, I liked the unity under Hylia bit at the end," congratulated Chief Elijah's younger brother
"Yeah, if they try to stop the slow revolution by not handing their power over to the working class they will be rightfully viewed as greedy and it won't be hard to simply confiscate it with an army of angry Hylians and Zora. We should also keep an eye on Kakariko village, the people who live there are sheikah and have been long time allies of the late Royal Family, they also have a mostly intact army, but assuming we can bloodlesly take over the villages in Lanayru and establish good trade relations with the Zora, well, i'm certain that they will kneel to the working class Zion,"
"All equal under the Union of Hyrule," Elijah said with a small smile
"We are going to have to change the motto in the future, using the word 'Hyrule' will evoke memories of the late kingdom and of course the goddesses, can't have gods in a communist utopia now can we?" Zion replied with a small smirk.
