Welcome back to DEATH BATTLE! Spyro Edition. Last time we got a look at Cynder's fighter profile. Now let's get a look at her opponent: Tommy Oliver. That's right, the greatest Power Ranger to ever live. So let's get to it! Here we go!

Wiz: The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Once just five teenagers with attitude, but after some help from the one and only Zordon, they became an elite secret fighting force that proved a perennial thorn in the side of one Rita Repulsa.

Boomstick: After sending plenty of monsters at the Rangers, and all of them losing, resulting in quite a few headaches, Rita had had enough.

Wiz: So she decided to fight fire with fire, or rather Ranger with Ranger. Fortunately for her, and to the dismay of everybody else, the perfect candidate for the process had just moved to town.

Boomstick: Everyone, meet Tommy Oliver. The new kid in Angel Grove.

Wiz: And after fighting Jason, the Red Ranger, to a tie in a martial arts tournament, a move which earned him the respect of Jason and some degree of admiration from the Pink Ranger, Rita decided he would be the one that would bring about the end of the Power Rangers. So she had him kidnapped and brought to her palace on the moon, where he was placed under her spell and given the secret sixth Power Coin, turning Tommy into the Green Ranger.

Boomstick: Yeah, these aren't the only powers Tommy has used, in fact he's actually the most experienced Power Ranger there is, but for the sake of today's battle, we'll be sticking with the green and gold.

Wiz: And that golden armor is more than just a cosmetic difference. That shield can mystically reflect attacks back on whoever used them, or at least provides some sort of benefit seeing how it's a key part of the power-up for other Rangers, and the fact that exchanging the shield was a key practice in defeating several different monsters, like Cardiatron and, seemingly, Oysterizer.

Boomstick: Really? Those're the names they came up with?

Wiz: Getting back to the point, it's no wonder the Green Ranger's powers are so sought after. On his own, in his first battle against the Rangers, the Green Ranger absolutely wrecked them. Rendering it entirely possible that the Green Ranger is the strongest of the original Power Rangers.

Boomstick: Not bad for just a guy with a dagger.

Wiz: Even then, the Dragon Dagger is not a weapon to be messed with, given how it can somehow fire energy beams.

Boomstick: And LIGHTNING! Plus when played like a flute, it can summon the mighty Dragonzord!

Wiz: Which will not be featuring in this fight.

Boomstick: Damn it.

Wiz: Did you honestly expect us to put the Dragonzord in this?!

Boomstick: Maybe?

Wiz: Anyways, back to the point. Tommy's already incredible power was only increased when granted a secondary weapon. The Sword of Darkness. While possessing similar energy projection powers to the Dragon Dagger, the Sword of Darkness is on a whole other level, given it's beam could only be blocked by the Megazord's shield. A single Ranger's attack took the Megazord to deflect.

Boomstick: Holy shit! Can anything stop this guy?

Wiz: Well, destroying the Sword of Darkness was apparently the only thing capable of ending Rita's control over him. So that's exactly what the Rangers did. But even after being freed from Rita's spell, Tommy continued fighting the good fight with the power the witch gave him.

Boomstick: Until she stole it all back with, of all things, a magic candle.

Wiz: Even without his Green Ranger powers, Tommy Oliver has proven a master martial artist, and natural born leader, as evidenced by how he essentially ran the Power Rangers from his return as the White Ranger up until his retirement well into the Turbo years.

Boomstick: There's a reason he's known as the greatest Ranger to ever live.

And that wraps up Tommy's fighter profile. Tune back next time to see Cynder vs Tommy Oliver in action! Same time... same channel!
