Kakashi woke up the next morning feeling better than he had in years. His shoulder was almost completely healed with only a pinkish scar left over. His ribs were fixed and the bruising was gone. He was completely clean and all his sore muscles had finally relaxed and he had felt like he had gotten enough sleep to last him a lifetime.

He sat up and got out of bed, putting on his shirt again and all his armor. Once he made sure his cloak was hiding all of his weapon pouches, he walked to the office by the hospital wing and knocked once.

The nurse poked her head out and gave Kakashi the stink eye. "Why are you walking around so soon after I healed you?" She asked, giving him a disapproving glare.

"I feel fine." Kakashi answered. "Could you tell me where I go to eat?" He hadn't eaten since he got here because he fell asleep immediately after his ribs were healed. His stomach growled as if confirming his immense hunger.

"You probably wouldn't feel anything if someone shot you with a stupefy charm." The nurse muttered under her breath. "Follow me, I'll bring you to the great hall. Most of the teachers should be there already since breakfast started fifteen minutes ago."

"Excuse me, miss, but what is your name?" Kakashi asked. The nurse raised her eyebrows in surprise, obviously having forgotten that she hadn't been introduced last night.

"I'm Poppy Pomfrey, students call me Madam Pomfrey. And yours?" Madam Pomfrey asked.

"My name is Hatake Kakashi, in my culture we say our family name first so my first name is Kakashi." Kakashi informed her. They had reached the great hall and Madam Pomfrey opened the huge doors to reveal a giant room with floating candles and a brilliant morning sky.

Kakashi had to admit that he was impressed, not that he would ever show it. At the end of the room there was a long table with adults lining one side of it. Dumbledore was sitting in the middle of the table, happily talking to an old lady in dark green robes and her hair tied tightly in a bun.

When Dumbledore noticed Kakashi's arrival he stood up and waved his hand to him in a beckoning motion. Kakashi walked up to the table and stood a little ways away so that Dumbledore could introduce him.

"Good Morning, Mr. Hatake. These are the teachers for this year, well, most of them. Our Defense Against the Dark Arts professor will be arriving on the first day of school. Everyone, this is Kakashi Hatake, a transfer student going into the third year." Dumbledore announced.

Some of the teachers smiled brightly and waved, while others just regarded him curiously. One teacher, a greasy black haired and hook nosed man, just scowled a little more than he had been previously.

Dumbledore motioned for Kakashi to sit down, so he sat down between the old lady and the scowling man. Both of them had not clapped upon his introduction and were instead giving either cold stares or inquisitive glances.

"May I ask why you are wearing a mask, young man?" The old lady asked.

"Because I want to annoy people." Kakashi retorted sarcastically.

"How would wearing a mask annoy people?" The scowling man asked.

"Because they would ask questions about it and I would never give them straight or correct answers in return." Kakashi answered, and they both realized he was currently doing that exact thing to them.

"What about your eye?" The old lady asked, looking at his Hitai-ate. Kakashi pulled it up and revealed his gruesome scar. The old lady's face drained of its usual color and the scowling man just looked suspicious.

"What happened to it?" The scowling man asked.

"Honestly?" They both nodded. "Well, I was chasing someone, and when me and my friends finally caught up to them there was a terrible battle." Kakashi started only to be interrupted here by the old lady.

"You lost your eye in that battle?"

"No, I lost my eye from that person's friend. See, we killed the guy we were chasing, but his friend was angry at us so we fought him and he cut out my eye." Kakashi finished.

"You killed someone?" The scowling man asked in disbelief. Kakashi just hummed in response and the old lady gasped.

"You shouldn't joke about those sorts of things, young man. You are much too young to even be able to comprehend death." The old lady said, much to Kakashi's annoyance. He looked at her for several seconds, a tense silence forming around them.

When he finally spoke, it was quiet and tense. "I have seen death the day I was born when my mother died. Then again when I was four years old when I saw my father stab himself through the heart with a katana. The first time I killed was when I was ten and I have done so many times afterwards."

Dumbledore looked at him with something akin to pity, but not quite as degrading. The old lady fell into a horrified silence along with the scowling man. The rest of the staff members had not heard, so they continued to talk.

"Mr. Hatake, I'll have professor Snape take you to Diagon Alley and show you around." Dumbledore said, pointing to the scowling man. Professor Snape seemed to be slightly afraid of Kakashi, which made Kakashi's slightly sadistic side light up in delight.

"Of course. I thank you again, Professor Dumbledore, for helping me." Kakashi said. Dumbledore smiled kindly at him.

"It's nothing, I should thank you for humoring my wishes. I would have let you stay whether you agreed with my deal or not." Dumbledore said. Kakashi highly doubted what he was saying, so he just nodded along. The old lady was looking between the two, confused.

"Albus, might I ask what this 'deal' was that made you think it was a good idea to let a murderer into the school to pose as a student? We already have a murderer to deal with, we don't need another one."

"Minerva, Mr. Hatake isn't a murderer. He has killed before, but he will not do so here and the only reason he has is because he had to. Our deal was quite simple, he would teach me about his type of magic, and I would teach him about ours." Dumbledore said.

Minerva raised her eyebrows. "He has his own type of magic?" She asked dubiously.

"No, it is not uniquely 'my' magic. It is from my village, and I happen to be a master of it."

"A master? You're only thirteen." Professor Snape said, scoffing.

"I am a master enough to be able to kill with it." Kakashi rebutted calmly. Snape shut up.

"Mr. Hatake, I must advise you against mentioning that you have killed before to the other students, they will not take kindly to it." Dumbledore said softly. Kakashi eye-smiled and nodded, knowing he won't deliberately tell people, but he wouldn't put in any effort to keep it a secret either.

"Sure thing, Professor." Kakashi said, his voice revealing his thoughts. Dumbledore shook his head and smiled.

"Albus, are you sure it is safe keeping him here as a student?" Minerva asked.

"Minerva, I am sure that he won't hurt anyone here while he is a student." Dumbledore said softly.

"What about when he isn't a student?" Snape asked, catching the way Dumbledore phrased his answer. Dumbledore remained silent and Kakashi looked down slightly.

"What?! You mean to say nothing is stopping him from hurting any one of us when he graduates?" Minerva asked.

"It's not like I like to hurt people, you know. Well, I don't like killing them at least. And besides, it's highly unlikely that I will get any orders to kill any of you." Kakashi said.

"Orders?" Minerva asked. Kakashi looked towards Dumbledore and noticed that the rest of the staff table had stopped eating and was listening to their conversation.

"Yes, Orders. Mr. Hatake is from a combat oriented school so he has learned a lot of fight skills. He also gets missions from his headmaster to capture and… defeat certain enemies of their school. Right now he is here because his headmaster is an old friend of mine and they requested to have one of their students learn our magic, while promising to have their best student come in order to teach me how to use their magic." Dumbledore lied.

"I won't kill any of you unless my headmaster tells me to, and he probably won't because he is friends with Dumbledore." Kakashi said.

"I see." Minerva said, still not entirely convinced.

"Well, Mr. Hatake, Severus, you must be getting to Diagon Alley now." Dumbledore said, before turning to Minerva. "Minerva, I trust you to tell the other teachers about Mr. Hatake."

"Oh NO YOU DON'T!" A shout came from the other end of the table. Madam Pomfrey had stood up and was marching towards Dumbledore and Kakashi. "He just recovered from a life-threatening injury. He will not be traveling today!" Madam Pomfrey continued, reaching for Kakashi's arm.

Kakashi jumped out of the way and ran away. Madam Pomfrey chased after him until they had reached the corner of the room and Madam Pomfrey shouted, "Ha! You're cornered now!"

Kakashi's eye twinkled and he put one foot on the wall. Some of the teachers shouted in surprise when he put his other foot on the wall and started to walk up. Madam Pomfrey realized what he was doing, even though she didn't know how, and reached up to grab him.

She was too late though and Kakashi had already reached halfway up the wall. He started running along the side of the wall back towards the staff table, defying gravity. The teachers had dropped their jaws at both his wandless magic and his fast pace.

When he reached the staff table, he jumped down at least twenty feet, did a flip in the air, and landed right next to Dumbledore. "I hope you have a quick way for me to go, because Madam Pomfrey is quickly advancing and I do not want to be caught by her."

Dumbledore laughed and took out a slightly moldy sock and quickly shoved it into Kakashi's hand. Snape reached out and grabbed the sock as well, so that they were holding it between them. Suddenly, Kakashi felt a jerking sensation on his hand and he disappeared from the Great Hall.
