this is the first chapter of my first ever original 'Fruits Basket' fanfiction, 'A Catboy's First and Only Love'. as you can imagine from the title of the fanfiction alone, the main couple in this fanfiction is the relationship between Kyo Sohma and Tohru Honda known by the everyday 'Fruits Basket' fan as 'Kyohru'. this whole entire fanfiction will be an original plotline.

The Prince Yuki Fan Club girls were extremely on edge today about Tohru Honda's friendship with not just Yuki, but with all of the other Sohmas who attended Kaibara High School, as well.
Motoko Minagawa: I just can't take it anymore. Four beautiful Sohmas grace this school with their presence, and that awful little witch, that Tohru Honda, has to ruin everything.
Minami Kinoshita: Oh yeah, she's so incorrigible, and it vexes me so.
Mio Yamagishi: What do we do about her, Motoko-senpai?
Motoko Minagawa: We're out of range of both her and the Sohmas, so we'll have to let her off the hook, for now. But, make no mistake, we shall get divine retribution from her for her closeness to the Sohmas very soon.
A few moments later, the Fan Club's main representatives were walking the halls together on their way from the club's activities, when they noticed that one Sohma in particular was just several feet away from them. Kyo Sohma, the Prince's brash and aggressive cousin who was practically the Prince's polar opposite despite being related to him, was actually calmer than normal... a lot calmer than normal. Not only was Kyo, of all Sohmas, actually calm, but he was smiling, too.
Kyo Sohma, the roguish black sheep among the Sohmas who attended Kaibara High, was actually smiling a pure, genuine smile. The Fan Club girls had never before seen him smile like that; actually, they had never before seen Kyo Sohma smile, at all. It was quite unusual for Kyo, of all Sohmas, to smile at anything.
The Prince Yuki Fan Club girls decided to revel in the lavishly boyish smile on his face that everybody at school would normally never see on the dashing, debonair rogue kind of a high school boy that was Kyo Sohma. The smile on the face of the prince's rougishly charming cousin almost looked just like a smolder, it was so attractive.
Motoko Minagawa: Ladies, we should take this moment to appreciate what might as well the rarest sight one might ever witness among the beauty of the Sohmas.
Minami Kinoshita: It's weird to say this about Kyo, of all Sohmas, but with a smile like that, he might actually be handsome enough to truly rival even Prince Yuki's good looks, even if he's angry all the time.
Mio Yamagishi: I know. It's too bad Kyo Sohma-senpai's always so mean to all the girls around him. Not only that, but it's a complete waste of his own good looks as any member of Prince Yuki Sohma's family that he rarely ever smiles. He's actually really handsome if you take a closer look at him.
Rika Aida: He actually is such a hottie, in his own way. I truly feel sorry for all the girls who fail miserably to notice that about him.
Chie Gotou: Wait a minute, aren't we among those girls? We're kinda being hypocrites if that's our observation of him, all of a sudden.
Mai Iwata: Shut up, Gotou, and just take in the sight of Kyo, of all Sohmas, actually smiling for once. It's something that not a lot of girls ever get to see.
Rika Aida: Yeah, he's a real hottie when he smiles. Who would've thought?
Motoko Minagawa: He certainly is a total dreamboat when he's actually very calm.
Then, they all remembered who their favorite Sohma was supposed to be.
Motoko Minagawa: Definitely not saying he's as handsome as Yuki Sohma, just saying Kyo Sohma has his own attractive features and is a heartthrob in his own special way.
Rika Aida: Yeah, like in a dashing,-debonair-roguish kind of way, that is.
Minami Kinoshita: I agree. He's handsome, alright, but in the same exact way Maid Marian found her own lover boy, Robin Hood, to be.
Mio Yamagishi: Exactly, girls. He's like the kind of prince that brings that little sense of roguish charm here to Kaibara High School.
While they were focusing on remembering that Yuki was still their favorite Sohma boy at the school, they turned themselves back around only to find out who Kyo was smiling at so genuinely. It was none other than Tohru Honda, the rival of theirs who they considered as a witch. They did not know what she had done to make Kyo smile, but they thought that it had be a spell of some sort which she put on him.
Rika Aida: Oh, I get what's going on, now. Kyo Sohma wasn't smiling for just any particular reason, in general. He was smiling at Tohru Honda.
Mai Iwata: I know he's not Prince Yuki and all, but it's still unforgivable of that witch to meddle with any member at all of our beloved prince's family, nonetheless.
Minami Kinoshita: I'm so angry with her, right now. What's so great about that stupid Tohru Honda that the Sohmas like this much, anyway?
Mio Yamagishi: Nothing's great. There isn't a single good thing about her that could possibly make her such good friends with Yuki or make even Kyo smile that genuinely at her.
Mai Iwata: Maybe, she really is a witch that cast her love spell on Kyo in addition to Yuki. That has to the reason why they don't get along that well even though they're family.
Chie Gotou: Maybe, she has some dirt on the Sohma family that no one else knows about.
Rika Aida: If she knows a secret about them, she may be using it to blackmail them into being in love with her.
Motoko Minagawa: If that's the case, I suppose we should confront it right away. We all owe Kyo Sohma that much. He did knock the devil woman attention whore known as Kimi Todou down a peg, after all.
They all remembered when Kyo Sohma finally put that devil woman in her place. They all flashed back to that very day.
Kimi Todou was on Yuki's student council thanks to Makoto Takei's selecting and reselecting, and even re-reselecting of the student council who would be under the prince's charge when he would take over Takei's position. Kimi had heard rumors about Kyo Sohma who, despite being related to the prince, was very skittish around girls to the point of putting one in an armbar on his first day of school just for grabbing his arm first. She decided she was up to the challenge of trying to be the one he would fall in love with. After all, what man did not like her? Or_ so Kimi thought.
Kimi Todou: Well, hi there, handsome. Aren't you Kyon Kyon, Yun-Yun's cousin?
Kyo was shocked by the nickname that this random chick had given to his cousin, Yuki. She was just some random girl to him, anyway.
Kyo Sohma: I'm sorry, I'm confused. Who the hell are you, ya hag?
Kimi was absolutely shocked by this term he used for her, of all girls.
Kimi Todou: What do you mean "hag"? It's not like I have any wrinkles to back up your term for me.
Kimi had never had this reaction from a guy before. Nevertheless, she was still determined to break down this boy's walls. But, Kyo refused to budge, no matter what flirting method she used on him. When she tried to put her arm around him, however, that was when he snapped at her.
Kyo Sohma: Don't touch me, you stupid, ugly little girl. Who do you think you are, trying to flirt with me like I can persuaded into even tolerating a girl like you?
Kimi had never been called "stupid" or "ugly" before in her life. She did not take it well. It caused her to explode and push him into several of the desks in retaliation.
Kimi Todou: How could you call a girl like me names like those? Do you even know who I am?
Kyo Sohma: I don't, but you remind me a lot of a girl who stalks me like ugly on an ape. I never liked her, either.
Kimi was very surprised by this boy's further assessment that she was ugly. She finally left the room in tears and ran back to the student council room. Minami, Mai, Chie and Kyo admirers from the classroom had been among the people watching the ordeal.
Kyo's admirers were relieved that he shot Kimi down. Granted, he did the exact same thing to one of them on the school trip, but it gave that girl her confidence back that he would learn to like her and the rest of them the way they liked him one day.
Minami, Chie and Mai were praising his actions in their heads, then all three of them reported the events to the rest of the Prince Yuki Fan Club members. Of course, Motoko and the others in the Prince Yuki Fan Club were beside themselves with gratitude of what Kyo Sohma had done to bring Kimi Todou down a peg.
Motoko Minagawa: Kyo Sohma, you are such a hero. You tore the devil woman down like she was an old, tattered wallpaper.
Mio suddenly became concerned about an issue in their loyalty to Yuki Sohma.
Mio Yamagishi: But, Yuki is still our one and only true prince, right, Motoko-senpai?
Motoko Minagawa: Of course, Yuki is still our favorite Sohma, but there's no reason we can't praise his orange-haired cousin for being the one to finally break down the devil woman attention whore known as Kimi Todou.
Rika Aida: What's the point of worshipping the prince if we don't bother to praise the feats of his family in addition to his own once in a while? Besides, Kyo Sohma brings that sense of roguish charm to the school.
At first, Mio saw major unfaithfulness in them praising a Sohma other than Yuki. Eventually, though, even she warmed up to the idea, too.
Mio Yamagishi: Oh yeah, he brings the bad boy kind of a hottie to the school. I'm starting to get what other girls at our school see in him.
Motoko Minagawa: I agree, Mio. Perhaps, we in the club had Kyo Sohma pegged all wrong.
Minami Kinoshita: He was such a hero when he tore that devil woman attention whore down. I wish everyone else in the club could've been there to see it all happen.
The entire Prince Yuki Fan Club sighed in response to Minami and the other two's report.
With that, their collective flashback came to its end.
Of course, they were grateful to Kyo Sohma's rejection of the she-devil, Kimi Todou. They were more than willing to repay his kindness_ by bringing down Tohru Honda, who was more than ironically the love of his life, which, of course, was the only problem with the action they were going to take against the girl they considered as a witch. Unfortunately, they thought Tohru had Kyo and the other Sohmas under a spell and/or knew a secret about them and was blackmailing them with it.
