Sonic and his friends were defeated. They lost everything, their homes, their planet, and their lives. Now overlanders most stand up and fight for them equipped only with the powers and guidance of the fallen heroes gifted to them. It's a fight to end the darkness that has encased the planet. But can mere children succeed where heroes have failed?

32. The Final Battle

The Wielders of Chaos part 32

"The Final Battle,"

"Mom…dad…" Miles questioned.

"Miles how, what…" his mom questions. Miles' father suddenly moves forward pushing Miles behind him to push his weapon forward blasting monsters to pieces.

"Stay behind me Miles!" his father exclaimed.

"What…?" Miles questioned.

"Are you alright?!" Miles' mother cups his face to get him to focus on her. She looks into his eyes as he does the same. Both of their eyes reveal a large amount of confusion at the current situation. "I thought you were in Soleana."

"I was-I mean, I don't know what's going on…"

"This is probably Mephiles trying to mess with us, Charlie can you hold the line?"

"Only for a few seconds at best, our squad was wiped out!" He responds.

"Miles stay behind us!" she says moving to support Charlie. After a quick glance back at Miles she readies her weapon to fight. The both of them carry assault rifles trying to fight off as many monsters as they could as it was like a massive wave of bodies all moving to converge on them. All trying to claw over one another akin to a rushing river that threaten to overtake them in a single moment.

"What's going on?" Miles asked Sonic.

"I don't know, this is weird for me too," Sonic says.

"They're getting more aggressive, Viv!" Charlie exclaims.

"I noticed!" she responds. A monster lunges for Miles' father latching on to barrel of his weapon at it opens it mouth to bite into the man's throat. Miles is quick to jump in wrapping his arm around the creature's throat before it could bite and using his momentum to throw it off.

"Now you guys get behind me!" Miles exclaims suddenly pushing his parents aside. Before they could say anything, he kicks up a powerful tornado that scatters the monsters. While stuck in midair, Miles moves into a light speed attack taking out each monster in a blur of speed. Miles skids to a stop in front his parents then grabs his parents' arms. "Chaos Control!" he suddenly warps away. Even though the warp took them a few miles away they were still in range to see Mephiles' castle. "We should be safe for a moment."

"Miles…" his mother says astounded.

"That was teleportation, just like what Agent Shadow is capable of, how did you do that?" His father adds.

"I don't really know what's going on, but I've had a lot of practice," Miles says with a bit of a smile at the fact he was able to surprise his parents.

"Are these really your parents?" Sonic asks.

"Honestly, I'm not sure how, but I think so," Miles whispers to his partner.

"Miles you learned how to master your powers!" his mother exclaims as she wraps her arms around him in a tight squeeze. Miles was inclined to return it.

"Yeah, I 've needed to use em a lot lately," Miles says.

"What are they teaching you at Soleana?" his father questions placing a hand on Miles' head.

"Hmm, I think I'm starting to get it…"

Miles releases his mom to look down at his emerald. "You get what's happening?"

"Yeah, Shadow had said that Mephiles has the power to manipulate time. He once sent Shadow into the future and he said it felt very similar to Chaos Control. So maybe this is an example of that."

"I get it now," Miles says. He looks at his parents who had started talking with each other to assess the new situation their in. "This is before my parents were killed…" Miles looks back at his Chaos Emerald before looking at the partially ruined world, seeing the green beginning to fade. "Hey Mom, Dad," He says grabbing their attention. "I love you guys."

"We love you too," Viv responds instinctively without prompting. "But you sound so sad saying that."

"Because I think I'm from the future, in my time, you guys died…" Miles explained.

"Miles, did you time travel?!" Charles asked astounded. "That's amazing!"

Miles smiles warmly, "Yeah, but it was Mephiles who caused it, and I think Mephiles sent me here to try and save you. See I'm a Chaos Wielder," Miles says revealing the Chaos Emerald on his belt. "I have all the powers of Sonic the Hedgehog, so in a way, I'm the new Sonic in my time without Sonic."

"That's…that's…" Charlie was lost for words.

"That's amazing!" Viv quickly intervenes hugging the boy again. "I knew that you would be destined for greatness! You're the first known human to connect with the Chaos Force after all!"

"Mom, I think you're missing the part where you die…" Miles says while in the grip of the hug.

"I heard that part," She says. "That's doesn't change how proud I am of you."

"So, the Miles we know is still in Soleana?" Charles asks.

"Yeah, I am, that's when I got the news of you…"

Miles wraps his arms around his mom, "I missed you guys…"

Viv doesn't say anything more only accepting the embrace. "You've never been one for affection so I'm soaking this all in."

"Miles, you traveled through time, because of Mephiles, what does that mean?" Charles asks.

"My friends and I, we're going to destroy Mephiles. We have all seven Chaos Emeralds and then some."

"How does that work?" he asks.

"I have Sonic's spirit in this Emerald," Miles says. Miles holds up his Chaos Emerald so the hedgehog could speak.

"Nice to finally meet you in person Mr and Mrs Allgaleta," Sonic says from the emerald. "Well in person isn't really accurate since I'm a voice in a emerald and all though you get what I mean…"

"Amazing…so the heroes that fell gave their abilities to those they find worthy…" Charles says.

Miles looks over to Mephiles' castle. He can tell just looking at it that it isn't as big as the one in his time. The monsters are more savage, higher concentration, but less focused. "I bet I can defeat Mephiles here, I know it's possible. At least I can-,"

"Miles, you know that's not how time travel works," His father says.

"But it could be, I have the power to save you guys!" Miles exclaims. As this discussion a horde of monsters is charging toward them. A mess of four legged beasts all rushing towards them, many stumbling over each other as they rush forward.

"Looks like we have to fight!" Charlie exclaims.

"Not yet," Miles says. He raises his Chaos Emerald over his head. "Chaos Control!" This action brings time to a sudden stop. A wave of Chaos Energy dispersed from the emerald like a giant wave. As the wave moves, everything it touches freezes in place, everyone except Miles and his parents.

"Time manipulation too!" Viv exclaims happily.

"Our son is really throwing a lot at us isn't he," Charles says with a smile aimed at her.

"He most certainly is," she agreed.

"See, I can defeat Mephiles here. I can save you guys, and maybe I could prevent others from dying…"

"Miles, you know it can't work like that…" Sonic points out.

"Why can't it?!" Miles exclaims glaring at his emerald. "Why can't I do this? I know I can!"

"He's right Miles," Viv states facing her son. Miles looks at her surprised but assumes Sonic must've projected his voice to all those present. "Mephiles sent you here knowing that's what you wanted. He can manipulate time afterall, this is just another trap for you. Who knows what doing that may do? We're experts on Chaos Energy, and one thing we know about it is that it can be unpredictable, hence the name. We can't always dictate how we want fate to play out."

"But you'll…you'll die…" Miles says looking at his parents. "I'll never see you guys again…is…is that really okay with you?"

"Well let's look at the facts Miles," Charlie steps forward placing a hand on his son's shoulder. "You know we love you, with everything we have. We'd move worlds for you, and missing the person you'll grow into being hurts, it really does." His grip on the boy's shoulder intensifies as he seems to hold back tears. "However, our deaths is what helped create the person you are right now and the person that stands before us couldn't possible make me any prouder. I would never in a million years want the person you've become to disappear."

Tears begin to fall down Miles' eyes as he looks at his parents. His hands clenching and unclenching. Wishing for some cosmic force to help him in making this decision, to make it easier. His parents are scientist and soldiers. Everything they've done have been to make a better world for him. Many called that clear naivety and wishful thinking. They didn't care though and that was always their goal, they told him enough for Miles to know this. Miles' tears flow freely now as he breaks down. He reaches for them holding them tightly. They return his embrace just as tightly.

"I love you guys," Miles says.

"We love you too Miles, to the moon and back and then some," Viv says.

"Another fact," he says holding his son. He pulls out the embrace before looking Miles in the eyes. "Now go save the world."

"Yes sir," Miles says as he pulls himself away. He looks at them one last time before racing off. His legs moving so quickly it looks like a infinity sign. "Sonic, can we time travel?"

"We need to build up more speed."

"On it," Miles says as he begins increasing speed as light gathers around him. "Chaos Control!" He releases his hold on the flow of time to speed through time. When he does it was as if the time stream was laid out before him. Like a stream of light all moving through an empty space. Before he could decide on a destination he feels himself yanked forward. That's when he crashes back into Mephiles' throne room. His feet skidding to a stop. It takes Miles a moment to reorient himself to the change and for his head to stop spinning. He looks forward to see he is alone at the moment.

"Are we in the right time?" Miles questions.

"I think so," Sonic says. Suddenly Cinos and Mikaela appear at his side a few moments later.

"Hey guys," Miles says looking at the two.

"Sup dude," Cinos says with a smirk.

"That was a crazy time wave that Mephiles hit us with," Mikaela says rubbing her head.

"Where did Mephiles send you guys?" Miles asks.

"To the point in time when my parents left me in Mobotrobilis…" Cinos says.

"The point before I found my emerald…" Mikaela says. "I wasn't exactly in the right state of mind to take on the type of responsibility that came with this power. I have some regrets, I won't lie…"

"What about you Miles?" Cinos asks.

"Right before my parents died…"

Cinos grimaces, "Geez, that's messed up…"

"Yeah, and I have a lot of aggression to work out!"

"Well let's do it!" Cinos says.

"Guess I'll help everyone else find their way back while you two do your thing…" Mikaela says.

Cinos and Miles rush forward as Mikaela teleports away. The two friends combine into a single spin attack targeted at the hedgehog like figure of Mephiles. They both easily destroy the form and the throne in one strike.

Miles places a finger to his ear, "Is anyone here and not trapped in a different time?"

"This is Ed, Vic and I are still here. What's up?"

"We're detonating the charges now, and we'll warp to you!" Miles looks at Cinos who nods.

"Chaos Control!" Cinos exclaims as the two of disappear. They reappear on the head of the Chaos 6 that Victor is in control of.

"Nice of you join us mates!" Ed says as he wields a whip made of Chaos Energy to knocked away a monster. "Mind telling me where the hell everyone else went?"

"Mikaela is bringing them back, Cinos are the charges set?"

"Say the word man," Cinos responds.

"Do it." Miles responds.

Cinos presses a button on his hip that triggers a chain of explosions to occur throughout the entire castle. The explosions triggering all begin collapsing the pieces of the castle bringing it to a halt. Afterwards things go quiet as the beast all pause in their assault. At that moment Mikaela appears just above them.

"I managed to pull most of our team from out of the time stream," She looks out onto the destruction of the castle. "Did we do it?" Mikaela asks.

Cinos stares out into the destruction before his eyes narrow. "No, it isn't over yet."

Suddenly the pieces of the castle begin to converge creating an enormous creature. A multi-limb creature with a large halo floating behind it. It's head is in the shape of a eagle as its eyes glow before letting out a roar. Energy crackles all around it as purple sparks fly off its form with purple embers scattering into the wind bathing the sky around them in an ethereal glow. It was as if the world was about to set on fire with purple flames.

"Figures it wouldn't be that easy…" Miles mutters.

"What the hell is going on?" Ed asks.

"Mephiles has had his mind scattered through numerous timelines and dimensions in an effort to assert his presence." Tikal says.

"What the hell does that mean?" Ed retorts.

"We've finally got his attention," Miles supplied.

"So called heroes, I have witnessed your efforts through my progeny. They have seen you struggle, seen you fight, and seen what you've lost. Why neglect the gift that I've given you? To reunite with those you've lost, with those whose lives you may have ruined, to right wrongs done to you, so why throw that away?"

"You aren't god Mephiles. You don't belong in our world!" Miles exclaims.

"Miles here we come!" Rob exclaims in his ear. Miles looks to see Rob flying over to him. Miles leaps up extending a hand for Rob to grab Miles' wrist. Then the two fly into the air.

"Rob, you okay?"

"Yeah…he sent me back to the moment my parents left me all alone to fend for myself. With everything I know, I could've helped them, maybe prevented Mephiles from destroying our world." Rob glances down at Miles. "I'm guessing he sent you somewhere similar?"

"Yeah something like that. Have you seen Tony?"

"Right here!" Tony says flying beside them. "Sorry to keep you waiting. He sent me somewhere weird, but I'm back!"

"You wanna talk about it man?" Miles asks.

"Nope, let's just start hitting stuff!" Tony exclaims.

"My thoughts exactly," Rob adds.

"Triple spin attack?" Miles suggests.

"I'm down," Tony says.

"Affirmative," Rob adds.

The three of them move in close together to create a triple spin attack all moving together. Tony and Rob focusing on spinning and staying close to Miles while he aims. They charge right toward Mephiles. The attack however is deflected by a powerful shield surrounding Mephiles' form. This sends all three of them into a fast free fall.

Mephiles reaches down to grab a horde of monsters into his fist. He crushes them all at once before sending a focused beam of energy tearing apart the land all around them. The attack is able to split the ground beneath them. Gravity becomes inverted as rocks and debris begin to float into the air.

"This is but a single world, all will fall before Solaris…"

"Different day same song," Sonic mutters.

"You mean that he only wishes to be complete and become Solaris again?"

"Yeah, but right now, he's incomplete since Iblis doesn't exist anymore."

"Well, he's missing something so what do you think-," Miles cuts himself off as he sees Sol floating in the air moving toward Mephiles. "The power of flames…"

"That's why he needed the Sol Emeralds!" Tails exclaims.

"To recreate the flames of Ibilis, by using Sol as a sort of conduit for it," Rob said.

"So, it was always about Sol…" Miles mutters.

"Flame of the Sol Emeralds, lend me your power. The flame is the one that burns the brightest in the night. Let flame be the one that aids in your sight. The fires that burn continue to burn with the strength of my might!"

"There's a version of a Tikal's Prayer for the Sol Emeralds too?" Tony questions.

"Sol!" Miles exclaims rushing forward. His legs carrying him at hypersonic speeds as he moves about the debris to get higher. Trying to get closer before the girl could be pulled in. He leaps out grasping her hand. She looks back at him. "Sol, don't do this!"

"But, he can correct my mistakes. I can redeem myself, I can have my family with me again…"

"Your sister is still alive, you can change things Sol!"

"How did you-,"

"Andy mentioned it to me, I know, you can't be in the same room without one of you trying to kill each other. She thinks you betrayed her, and you feel that she might be right," Miles gulps. "But it's never too late.

"You can't possibly know how I feel Miles." She speaks.

"You were one of the first people I met during this whole crazy adventure. You've been with me every step of the way. I've seen you, I know you're better than this, so be better!"

"Miles I…" She looks back at the awaiting form of Mephiles, the creatures arm extended to her waiting patiently. "I want this so bad. He showed me how I could correct my mistakes."

"Sol, lets focus on the facts," Miles says.

"What are the facts Miles!?"

"You have the powers of Blaze, the princess and defender of another dimension. She recognizes you as a person worthy of her power. You have become a protector, and you've gained friends who will support you no matter what. Friends who you can go to war with. This is only the beginning of this journey," Miles smiles up at Sol. "And if you want me, I can be there for every step of your journey," Miles adds. Miles feels Sol's grip on his hand tighten.

"Do not doom your own future child over fleeting feelings. Allow me to help create the world you wish to see,"

Sol looks at Mephiles the monstrous being before her, "I see…. thank you," She stares resolutely at the being before her. "You taught me the prayer of Sol that had been lost to time."

"You foolish-!"

"Flame of the Sol Emeralds, lend me your power," The giant arm reaches for Sol. Miles kicks up a powerful gust of wind that aids him allowing him to dodge the grab. He holds Sol bridal style as he runs along the arm. Spikes jut out the arm as Miles runs along it. Sol putting her trust in Miles to keep them safe as they move. "The flame is the one that burns the brightest in the night," . Let flame be the one that aids in your sight." Miles dodges spikes and monsters growing on the very surface of this monstrosity. "The fires that burn continue to burn with the strength of my might!"

Suddenly all the Sol Emeralds that were gathered on the field all begin glowing. Each person surprised by the rush of power flowing through them and the emeralds. There is an explosion that manages to knock Mephiles off balance for a moment. Miles opens his eyes to see he was the one being carried now. He sees a powerful aura encompass Sol with her jacket taking on a red hue and her eyes turning red.

"Whoa…" Miles mutters.

"She accessed Blaze's super form!" Sonic cheers.

"I'm amazed…she was able to do so without having all the emeralds in her possession…" Blaze mutters amazed.

"I figured the Prayer would be something similar to Tikal's prayer in being able to increase the power of the emeralds."

"WOOHOO!" exclaimed Andy as she flies through the air with a giant flaming piko piko hammer. She swings it clearing the way of multiple monsters.

"This is AWESOME!" George exclaims flying around with flames around his form. He lobs fireballs left and right in a type of carpet bomb technique.

"I got your back," Lauren says moving to DJ's side as he bashes a monsters face into the ground as she lashes out with flames.

"Everyone with a Sol Emerald has their own Burning Super Form…" Miles mutters.

"This power is not to toyed with by children!" Mephiles exclaims. Sol flies backwards in the air just as Mikaela flies forward.

"Get a taste of this!" She says pushing her hands out in a sort of psychokinetic fire blast that launches forward into the eagle shaped face of Mephiles. The monster growls flinching back before launching flying eagle like monsters from his body.

"There's my ride," Miles says. "I leave the rest to you babe," Miles falls from his arms to latch onto on of the flying monsters as it goes by.

"Onto pet names already huh," Mikaela says flying back to her side.

"Shut up and burn this sucker," she responds. They both launch a large fireball into Mephiles chest that makes the creature flinch back.

"You choose fire against a Sun God, a most unwise decision…" he growls as embers began to change color. The creature lashes out with a powerful heatwave that knocks the two of them away.

"This Sol power isn't really my thing…" Eddie remarks throwing a fireball. "Feels like it at odds with your powers Tikal!"

"I agree, which is why I have an idea." Tikal says.

Chaos lets out a brief roar.

"Chaos knows what you're thinking and he's not sure it's a good idea…" Victor translates.

"Won't know till we try, what ya need me to do?" Eddie asks.

"We need to go to the Master Emerald first," she says.

"And how can I do that. I can't warp without a Chaos Emerald, and right now were kinda short in supply. Besides I'm not as good at it as Cinos is."

"You are riding the embodiment of Chaos Energy, besides when have you let rules dictate your actions before Edward?"

"Heh, fair enough!" Ed scoops up a bit of the liquid green energy made of Chaos. He fashions it into a makeshift Chaos Emerald. "Alright her goes everything. Wish me luck Vic!"

"Don't take too long!" he responds.

"Always wanted to try this since those guys make it look so cool. Chaos Control!" he holds the fake emerald over his head, the emerald shines brightly before Eddie vanishes.

Chaos lets out a grumble.

"I agree lets tear $#%& up!" Victor exclaims. The Chaos 6 form turns into an orb that jets out spikes as it begins rolling forward trampling all in their way.

"These monsters seem to give Mephiles power!" Kitt exclaims slashing off the head one creature before throwing a paper bomb into a Dark Gaia monster.

"They're getting more aggressive too," DJ notes catching the jaws of a large hound trying to bite his head off.

"Well the Chaotix got this, no doubt," Will says kicking away the monster from DJ as he's flying by.

"Does that include me?" Lauren asks throwing a fireball.

"Keep doing that and you're a shoe in," DJ responds.

"WOOOHOOO!" George goes flying by again.

"Stay with Frost, George!" Lauren calls up to the boy.

"Don't worry Laur, I got him," Frost says over through their earpiece. She looks to see a large explosion follow before Frost leaps into the air following George's trail of destruction closely.

"I'll make sure he doesn't get himself killed too," Victor adds as Chaos 6 launches tendrils into the air as spears taking out many of the airborne enemies.

"Wish we had super powers…" Will groans.

Mephiles reaches down to grab a cluster of monsters again before crushing them in his fist.

"Heads up everyone!" Miles calls over coms.

Mephiles releases a powerful beam of purple light that uproots the landscape in a single shot. It has the similar effects as prior inverting the very laws of nature around it. Even those not hit with it, are thrown by the force of the blast. The gravity is thrown askew and the gravel is launched skyward.

"I hate that attack…" Cinos groans from his place on the ground.

"At least the monsters are thinning…" Kailia mutters from her place next to him on the ground. He picks himself up dazed and clearly in pain. He rubs his side feeling a sticky liquid, he looks at his hand to suck his teeth at seeing the blood.

"Even the Ultimate Lifeform is capable of bleeding Cinos. Believe in your strength," Shadow says simply.

"Right," Cinos says he reaches down to help up Kailia. She smiles thankfully as she takes his hand to get back on her feet.

"Guess break times over," Kailia says.

"Yep, let's get to it," Cinos responds.

"You guys got this, we believe in you," Rouge adds. The two stares forward as Dark Gaia monsters begin approaching them, Nightmares, and Big Belly creatures.

"Should we call for back up?" Cinos asks.

"For them or us?" she retorts with a smirk. Cinos returns the smirk before they both take a look of resolution as they rush back into the fight.

In the sky Mikaela and Sol continue their battle against the main form of Mephiles. Their attacks make the creature flinch, but they weren't doing enough damage to actually hint at a possible victory. It was as if they were punching a solid wall. No matter how much they tried they weren't seeing a change in much. Mikaela looks at all the gravel and rock floating in the air.

"I've got an idea!" She flies away quickly using her psychokinesis the gather as much as she possible could, even grabbing monsters along with raw material. She gathers it into a large giant meteor. She then separates the orbs and shapes them into large giant stone fist. "And for affect!" she lights them on fire. She rushes forward with her giant stoned fists. "Put em up you bastard!" Mikaela swing a fist into the eagle shaped face of the wanna be god. She assaults the beast with hard hits over and over. In the face and chest.

"Kick his ass Mikaela!" Sol exclaims.

"Futile." Mehpiles mutters as he his limbs catches the fist of both. He crushes them under his great strength.

"I got this," Sol exclaims gathering energy in her fist. "Plasma Burst!" she exclaims firing a blast of concentrated heat at Mephiles. The concentrated beam of plasma burns away at Mephiles who screams in pain.

"I am a Sun God child!"

"Correction, an incomplete Sun God," Sol responds pouring on more heat.

"She can't keep this up," Miles mutters.

"What can we do?" Sonic questions from his emerald.

"Do guys think you can ground Mephiles?" Miles questions over coms.

"For a few seconds maybe!" Mikaela responds in a yell.

"That's all I'll need," Miles suddenly turns and runs away from the battlefield. He runs and runs building up speed more and more. His legs pumping faster as he feels his lungs began to cry out in pain, even as his legs ache and his injuries start to cry out. He doesn't stop running.

"You sure about this?" Sonic asks.

"Nope!" Miles responds.

Mikaela and Sol fly above Mephiles to begin raining down fire upon him like a storm.

"Go down you bastard!" Mikaela yells pushing out her hands to use her psychokinesis to push Mephiles towards the ground.

"Focus on Mephiles with range attacks!" Rob yells firing energy beams into Mephiles' face. The empowered members with the Sol Emeralds began focusing their flames on Mephiles. All of them pouring on the large beast with fire blast. Choas 6 with Victor in control rushes the creature to wrap tendrils over all it's limbs and dragging it to the ground.

"He's so…powerful…" Victor groans feeling his arms shaking with the effort. "Stay strong Chaos!"

"He's down!" Mikaela exclaims.

At the very moment the words leave her mouth Miles rush in, faster than anything they could track. They couldn't even see him or notice him come. The results there were easy to see as suddenly Mephiles lost a limb, then the next second he loses another before a barrage of unseen attack strike in him in rapid succession.

"Chaos Strike!" Victor uses all of the power in Chaos 6, focuses it into his emerald, before unleashing a powerful energy wave that decimates Mephiles. The beast falls to the ground as Victor goes falling to the ground unable to move a finger. He almost passes out until he felt a warmth as he is suddenly stopped from falling. He looks to see that George has him in his arms.

"You okay bud?" He asks as they return to the ground.

"Yeah…I'll…I'll be fine…" Victor mutters. Suddenly Miles skids to a stop in front of them.

"You two okay?" Miles questions.

"Yeah," George responds.

"Good," Miles responds.

"Miles!" Victor exclaims leaving George's arms to see to him. "You okay?"

"Just…need…a sec…"

"That hurt…" Mephiles mutters from his place on the ground. There was no movement before all the monsters began rushing towards him. "That hurt," He growls as the monsters began to reconstruct Mephiles. "You puny creature actually hurt me!"

Mephiles moves to crush the three boys under his fist. Miles grunts as he gets to a prone stance before the three of them vanish. Miles slides to a halt with George and Victor under his arms. He quickly collapses as soon as he got them away.

"Whoa…" George mutters. His eyes turn to Mephiles as his eyes glare at them. "Uh oh…"

"Chaos Control!" Cinos exclaims rushing towards them. With the sudden warp all three of them were removed before the laser eye beam could hit them. They reappear a few meters away.

"Thanks Cinos…" Miles mutters still prone on the ground.

"Course…but…not much left to do that again…" Cinos mutters grabbing his side.

George looks at his hands, still empowered with the flames. He glares at Mephiles but is held back from flying. He looks to Victor who clung to him. "Don't even think about it stupid. Wait for more help…"

"But-,"

"He's right, hold off a sec," Miles says getting to a prone stance. He looks at Mephiles who seems to be glaring at him specifically. The monstrous form of Mephiles was able to alter his form getting rid of the multi-limb form to for the limbs to shift into wings. The eagle head jets out forming a more defined mouth as the purple energy crackles around him. A longer neck and a thick tail with taloned feet. Mephiles raises up more as he gets to his feet. He flaps his wings to unleash a burst of wind that hits everyone in the face forcing them to flinch under the pressure of the winds. However, Miles continues to stare forward as Mephiles continues to glare down at him.

"I was foolish in not cutting you down first. I see now, that this fight will end with your death. I can appeal to these people as long as you don't exist. Removing you will allow this world to prosper. I couldn't see it, or I either ignored it. The simple fact is that I cannot exist alongside you. I cannot be all that I am if you are still within this world. No matter what timeline, or which world. As long as you exist I will never be free from this prison of limbo. I shall rid the worlds of you, Sonic The Hedgehog!"

"Gotta…catch me…first…" Miles says. He gets to his feet and runs.

He runs even though he shouldn't be able run anymore. Even though his travel speed is that of a small buggy with a flat tire. He runs as best he can. He knows that he can't run forever. He can't even run as fast as he wants to right now. His legs are spent. He's bleeding from more places than he cares to count. His friends all move to protect him as best they can. Rob moving in overhead to laydown covering fire with his blasts gloves that are overheating. Tony rushing to his side to protect his flank. Even Cinos is skating alongside him. Sol screaming at Mephiles to leave Miles alone as she lashes out wildly with fire. Frost standing his ground as he launches boulders at Mephiles. Andrea as she hammers against Mephile's face. As the Chaotix attack the main body, even as Lauren heals Kalia despite the other claiming that she's fine. Despite the Victor trying to call upon Chaos' power once more to help him in this fight. Despite, Mikaela wanting to drop a continent on Mephiles despite not having the strength to do so. Despite all this, Mephiles keeps his gaze aimed at Miles and Miles shares the eye contact with the same intensity. Both aiming to end the existence of the other. Miles is suddenly pinned down by the very ground around him.

"Die, once more."

"Sorry it took so long," Ed remarks.

With his words coming through everyone sees a floating island warp into the airspace from above.

"Tikal taught me a new prayer so get ready for the epic power up." Ed clears his throat for dramatic affect. "The Servors are the Seven Chaos. Chaos is power that can enrich ones heart. Dreams can be Chaos, wishes can be Chaos, and thoughts can be Chaos. All that is Chaos is turned into power. That power is what creates miracles for the future. Let the future be Chaos. Let the future be a miracle, let Chaos be the future!"

The Master Emerald is spinning rapidly almost like a top. It even lifts off the alter slightly as the giant green emerald shines. The green glow that exudes from it is blinding to Ed as he covers his eyes. The Master Emerald shoots outs rays of light. The Chaos Emerald receive these lights as they suddenly change. The Chaos Emeralds transform into Super Emeralds. The Super Emeralds grow in size as they manifest. The power consumes Miles as he is blinded by light. The next moment he is free once again with power unlike anything he has ever felt coursing through his veins. He looks at the giant emerald before him. Seeing the visage of Hyper Sonic.

"You're not me, you know that right?" Sonic says.

"What do you mean?"

"I know you've said that you're the new Sonic The Hedgehog or whatever. I didn't correct you because I thought that helped you. What I mean is you're not me, there's only one Sonic."

"…And there's only one Miles." The boy responds with a nod. "I get it."

He reaches through the image of Sonic and touches the emerald. Energy traces around his arm before the emerald merges with him. His eyes go white for a moment before they focus until his irises turn red as his body crackles with energy. His vision refocuses on the image of Mephiles and the battlefield around him. Light shines from corners of the battlefield. He also notices water pooling around his feet. The water seems to breath life into the land, turning the grass green under its surface. He hears a loud roar and turns to see a towering figure emerging from the waves. Victor is surrounded by the water with green glowing eyes as the water takes form into a giant beast.

"That's Perfect Chaos!" Sonic exclaims. The water beneath Miles jets him up into the sky until he is standing on a pillar of water. Soon he sees he isn't the only one, as everyone who held a Chaos Emerald had them changed into Super Emeralds. Also, those with Sol Emeralds were reenergized. There they all stood as pillars of light atop these water pillars staring at Mephiles. Mephiles roars as boney wings jet out his back as its limps regrow as it roars in outrage at the light.

"Wielders of Chaos!" Miles began. "Let's save the world."

At his call each person leaps off their water tower flying towards Mephiles. Mephiles reaches down to gather monsters again. However, Perfect Chaos, with he land drowned raises spike stabbing through the hand and destroying the monsters. Frost rushes forward covered in flame. He swings his claymore and in one explosion of fire dismembers the arm. Hyper Tony rushes forward smashing apart another arm. Mikaela grabs another arm for Andrea to rush forward splitting it with one might swing. Kaila uses her screw kick with a rainbow glow around her as she moves smashing into Mephile's chest throwing him back in the air.

"Chaos…" Cinos began. "Lance!" He sends a barrage of red lances that rain down on Mephiles like a thousand arrows pelting his body.

"Magical Burst!" Rob calls using his magical flickies around his body to converge into his hand to unleash a narrow beam with extraordinary power. The laser moves fast in the blink of an eye. With the resulting explosion coming in after a few moment after the attack passes.

"I am Solaris…"

"The world already decided we don't need Solaris in this world!" Sol says flying forward with Lauren and George at her side. The three of them combine into a fiery torpedo that nails Mephiles in the chest and passes through his chest.

"RRRAAGGH!" Mephiles exclaims.

"Chaotix let's make some noise!" DJ exclaims. Kit moves around Mephiles' form placing chaos infused paper bombs. Will flies stabbing Mephiles in the eye with his 3 foot stingers, and DJ crashes his fist down on the top of the eagle like head. The paper bombs all explode when Kit makes a hand sign detonating them all at once. Pieces of the fake Solaris form begins to fall apart. Numerous holes all over his form and the wings singed and destroyed.

"Victor!" Miles gestures.

"You got it!" Victor exclaims as the jaw of Perfect Chaos opens with a charged attack ready. "Chaos Destruction!" the beam is fired obliterating the entire bottom half of Solaris.

"We've used up a good portion of the Chaos force here guys…" Ed grunts with his hands raised in front of the Master Emerald as it spins much slower. "We have to end this now!"

"In a flash…" Miles mutters. His eyes glow as all time seems to stop for him alone. He flies forward crashing into the fake Solaris. There is a blinding light before the remains of the Solaris knock off falls to pieces. It was soon that a sparkle flew into the sky. "Gotcha…"

Mephiles, in his hedgehog form retreated in a separate dimension. He drops to his knees. "I can't fail…I must live on…I must-,"

"It's over Mephiles," Miles says suddenly appearing behind him. Mephiles jolts turning his head to see the form of Hyper Miles before him.

"No…you can't…"

"I figured you'd try the same trick, but with this power I track everything. Nothing moves too fast for me, you could teleport and I can track you," Miles says simply.

"Ah, of course. I suppose this is my final moments…"

"Yeah…"

"Then I choose to fight for my existence," Mephiles rises to his feet. "I request that we at least have a fair fight…if this is to be my last moments."

"You've taken away hope from everyone else, but you expect me to give you hope?" Miles questions.

"That's what all this has been hasn't it? A fight for survival, the right to exist in this world…"

"…fine," Miles releases his Hyper form as he separates from the Super Emerald to return to his normal state. "Let's have at it…"

The two stare each other down in this dark place. The ground in which they walk on is unclear and the dimension within is unclear. It was a gutsy move, but Miles at least gave pity to Mephiles. The two stare each other down for a few moments. Miles rushes forward punching Mephiles across the face, too quickly for Mephiles to react. He assaults Mephiles with hundreds of blows within seconds. It was harsh and overpowering, however Mephiles foresaw this. He raises a spike behind Miles.

Miles stands resolute as he sees that Mephiles had impaled himself as he dodged out the way at the last second. Mephiles is surprised and suddenly Miles crashing into him with a spin dash destroying Mephiles.

Miles finds himself back in his own world. He stands before the former form of Mephiles, that was trying to be Solaris. He stares down at it. Staring down at it as the presence of Mephiles has finally left it and this world. As he stares down at it until someone grabs his hand. He turns his head seeing Burning Sol standing next to him with a smile. He smiles back gripping her hand tightly.

"WE DID IT!" Cinos exclaims suddenly tackling Miles. Cinos ruffles Miles's curly hair in celebration. "We did it dude!"

"Do I need to get you two a room?" Sol asks.

"Come on Sol this is my best friend!" Cinos says with his arms around Miles' neck. "You can cuddle with him later. Best friends have priority over girlfriends!"

"Can you not cuddle with someone else?" Miles questions incredulously.

"Cuddle with your girlfriend later!" Cinos exclaims. Both Sol and Miles seem to huff at him.

"Notice neither of them have denied it…" Andrea mutters to the others.

"It wasn't a matter of if, only when," DJ points out to the annoyance of Sol and Miles.

"Even I knew it would happen," Victor says approaching the group while leaning on George.

"Nice job bro!" George exclaims smiling at Victor.

"So close…" Victor mutters.

"Glad everything worked out. 'thank you Ed' oh you are so welcome after all, I don't do this to be the hero after all," Eddie says as he joins the group.

"Subtle Ed," Lauren says. However, she reaches out the wrap him in her arms. "But thank you for your effort. You really helped us in our hour of need."

Ed chuckles seemingly nervously, "Yeah, ya know, gotta keep things in order for you guys."

With that they all look up seeing the sunrise. For the fist time in a long time, seeing the sun shine down upon them warming them all under it's glow.

"Why don't we all just enjoy this," Miles suggests. With that the Wielders of Chaos all sit down on the green grass as they watch the sunrise together. As not only a group of teammates but as friends who saved the world from despair.
