Tina didn't focus on the Transfiguration lesson; she was busy in thinking about the meeting with Pearl. She was pretty good in Transfiguration; she was the first in the class who turned the match to a needle few lessons back. She wasn't the only one who didn't listen, all the No-Maj-borns didn't listen too. But, of course, Transfiguration was the worst lesson for that. Professor Silas Prott noticed something is off. "What wrong with you all?! Why are you not listen to me?! You need me to transform another one of you to an animal to wake you up?!" The professor called. That's startled all of the class.

"No, please don't, we are listening." Clarence Hawks called, still afraid after the teacher transfigured him to a hawk.

"Really? If you all listen so name one of the Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration." Prott demanded.

"Sir, we haven't learned about that yet." Lavonna stuttered.

"What's new?" Oscar hissed, rolling his eyes.

Tina raised her hand to answer the question, she didn't listen at all in the lesson but she knew the answer. "Yes, Goldstein, maybe you'll rescue the class from complete failure." The professor told her.

"I know that food is one of the things you can't conjure from thin air." Tina answered, that the only one of the five she knew. Queenie really loves cooking and she always watched their mom cook so she explained it once.

{Flashback, 1909, the Goldstein's House}

Tina sat in the dinning room with the paper and play Spot the Snargalluf. Queenie watched their mother as she cooked dinner.

"Hey, mom, when you could teach me how to cook?" Queenie asked her mother.

"I cooked mostly with magic and you are still a child, dear.' Her mom answered.

"I guess creating food could be very complicated." Queenie sighed.

The mom laughed, "You can't create food, it's against the Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration. But you can summon it or transform it to something else or even increase the quantity of it." She explained and doubled the chicken to demonstrate it.

"Wait, really, how come you can't use magic to create food?" Tina asked, she did listen to their conversation but she didn't have something to say until now.

"Even magic has it's limits. Just like you can't create love." She answered and kissed her daughter's head.

"How old I need to be so you'll teach me how to cook?" Queenie asked her mother.

"Well, at least eleven. Now we should eat." Their mother put the plates with the food on the table.

{End Flashback}

"Goldstein, Goldstein!" The professor said loudly. Tina snapped off her thoughts, she looked around and noticed the lesson is over. Besides the question she answered she didn't listen at all.

"What is it sir?" Tina asked the teacher slowly.

"Stay here for a minute." Prott ordered.

Tina looked at her roommates, "We'll wait for you." Nella promised and the three of them got out.

When everyone left the classroom, the professor stood up on his feet and look Tina directly in the eyes. Tina wasn't sure what to do, she might daydream but she didn't do something that he needs to punish her. She was a bit afraid; no one wants to get in trouble with the Transfiguration professor and if she would say anything it could be worse. So, she waited for him to say something. "Goldstein, listen, you are one of the best students here in this class, you were the first one who transformed the match to a needle and you are the only one who answered to my question. You have a potential but you can't do what you did today. I noticed you didn't listen, and that is unacceptable in my lesson."

Tina actually expected for something worse, he might have scolded her but he also mentioned she is a good student. "Thanks sir, I'm sorry sir, it won't happened again." she muttered and lowered her head.

"Good, you can go now." The professor told her.

Tina left the classroom quickly. "Thanks for waiting me, we should go to Charms before we'll be late." She told her roommates and started walking.

"What did he want?" Evelyn asked.

"Something happened?" Nella added.

"He just scolded me because I didn't listen today and told me I'm a good student." Tina told them.

"Wait, he gave you complement?!" Hazel called.

"Yes, I think he can be nice sometimes." Tina said.

"Who could believe that?" Evelyn asked and they all laughed.

They arrived just in time for the lesson to start. "Sit down, girls, hurry up, put your quills on the tables," Professor Drew urged them, "today we'll learn about the Levitation charm."

"Which I already know because of the Charms Chalice." Regina smiled arrogantly.

"Yes, anyway, the spell was invented by Jarleth Hobart in 1544. At first, he saw he discovered how to fly. He went up to a roof and casted the spell but he only hovered in the air. He thought his clothes making him heavier and took them off. Then he realized that the clothes were what charmed and not him and he fell to the ground. He created charm that can levitate things not him. He couldn't fly with this spell. That is something you all should remember, you can't control your movement in the air, so it's better to use it on objects and not on the living. Now you should try to cast this charm on the feathers." The professor explained.

Regina made her blue quill to flew in the air without an effort. She made it look so easy that the class thought they would succeeded to do this as well very fast. But they wrong, by the end of the lesson only four other students levitate their feather. The pink quill of Cecile was the first one to be in the air. Evelyn also succeeded levitate her quill in the middle of the lesson. Near the end the feathers of two boys from the first room was in the air, because they sat next to each other and float the feathers in the same time they collided in the air and fall to the floor. "That wasn't suppose to happened," the boy who had spanish accent, Mario Coyota, muttered and went to pick up his red quill. He gave the other boy, Keldon Chandler, his feather back.

"You want me to wait you outside the private room?" Phiri asked Tina before her meeting with Pearl.

"No, it'll be weird, wait me in the bathroom." Tina answered.

"Alright." Phiri nodded and walked away.

Tina knocked on the door. "Come in Tina." She heard Pearl's voice. Tina opened the door and sat on the armchair. "How was your month, since the last time we met?"

"Fine." Tina answered shortly.

"I heard Thunderbird won twice, I'm sure it was excited." Pearl told her.

"Yes," Tina said.

"Celebrating with the whole house supposed to be fun, wasn't it?" Pearl asked her.

"It was alright." Tina mentioned.

"How are your studies?" Pearl asked another question.

"Maybe you should ask the teachers?" Tina rolled her eyes.

"I did ask them." Pearl stated.

"Wait, what? I wasn't serious! It's only the second month, we barely start to study why did you talked to them?!" Tina was shocked, she stood up on her feet, she didn't actually mean for it.

"Please sit down, Tina," She demanded, "I'm responsible on you and all the No-Maj-borns in your year, part of it is know how you behave and your studies because there is no one else to report it. I mostly do that before Christmas, but your Transfiguration came to talk to me about you today."

"What?!" Tina called; she did not see this coming.

"He said you didn't listen in his lesson today, and that is a shame because you are a good student." Pearl stated.

"Why he even mentions this?! He also wanted to speak with me after lesson, so one time I didn't listen, I wasn't the only one who wasn't focus!" Tina called.

"Yes, but if he talked to you after the lesson and came to say this to me as well that means you did something wrong." Pearl told her.

"Why you think I wasn't focus on the lesson? I just couldn't stop thinking about this stupid meeting!" Tina called.

"This is still not excuse, you need to listen in your lessons." Pearl reminded her.

"He probably hasn't mentioned that I was the only one who could answer about his question right?" Tina folded her arms; she was still standing.

"No, but that doesn't matter, these meetings will be once a month and you can't let it effect on you, please it shouldn't happen again." Pearl asked her.

"I'm going, we done for today." Tina decided and got out from the room. She didn't even ask for permission, Pearl frustrated her so much and she didn't plan to continue with this meeting today. She walked as fast as she could to the bathroom where Zephirina waited for her, so no one will notice something is off.

"How was it?" Phiri asked her after Tina got inside the bathroom.

"Awful! She lectured me I should listen more in the lessons! Fine, so I wasn't focus in the transfiguration lesson today, because of that I need to get into trouble? And I thought Professor Prott could be nice I can't believe he went to snitch on me to Pearl, specially after he told me I'm smart!" Tina yelled and started to cry.

"Wait, hold on, what happened with Professor Silas Prott?" Phiri asked her, she had a feeling she doesn't know the whole story yet.

"I wasn't listening in his lesson, well, all the No-Maj-born also didn't listen, because of the meeting with Pearl of course, so he got angry and yelled at us, he asked a tricky question who wasn't even related to the lesson and I'm the only one who could answer it. He still asked me to stay after the lesson because he wanted to scolded me for not listening but he also said I'm a good student and I really thought he isn't that bad but then he just went to talk to Pearl about that, because talking to me directly wasn't enough for him!" Tina explained.

"That is really not nice," Phiri said the first thing she could think of and felt appropriate for her.

"He shouldn't have gone to her, he talked to me. It's supposed to be enough; I can't believe they would call her on every nonsense and mess up I'll do." Tina sighed.

"And she would come, because she'll need to monitor your situation and check how are you, to other students, letter to the parents will be enough but it's not the treatment with orphans and No-Maj-borns." Phiri explained.

"I hate it, I really do hate it, I can't listen for one lesson without it's become a big deal?" Tina groaned.

"I think it just because Pearl came today so Prott decided to talk to her directly, he might have not done it if he couldn't meet her." Phiri mentioned.

"It doesn't change the fact that he did it, I love transfiguration but we have horrible teacher." Tina said.

"I know, I don't think anyone love him, well, besides Sophie I guess." Phiri remarked and they both laughed.

"What you did to Professor Prott this week? Pearl told me something happened." Sadie asked Tina while they walked to the Orphanage in Saturday.

"I didn't do anything. Why Pearl would mention this to you?! And if she talked to you why you haven't come to talk to me? She just told you something happened and you decided to wait with it until our walking to the Orphanage?" Tina asked in rebuke, if Pearl talked to Sadie about that, so Sadie decided to wait until today to speak about that with her, she specifically chose to do this conversation here.

"I just thought it would be better to talk about that why we are alone, and Pearl only mentioned you ran away from the meeting because something happened with Prott. I thought you want some space and if I'll come and talk about that right away you would be mad." Sadie sighed.

"Just so you know, nothing actually happened in the lesson, Prott is just not nice. Half of us didn't listen so he got angry and when he asked a hard question, I was the only one who knew the answer, but he scolded me after the lesson was over and then went to talk about that with Pearl and I wasn't listen because I was focus in thoughts about the meeting." Tina explained.

"The Protts do that all the time, on the smallest things. They alert the Kid's care employees on everything, just be the best student as you could, you were the one who transform the match to a needle Silas is already impressed from you, continue that way and he won't dare to talk to Pearl." Sadie promised her.

"Not sure if being a good student would do any effect on him but we'll see." Tina mentioned.

They arrived to the entrance of the Orphanage. "Wait, I need to talk with you on something else." Sadie stopped Tina.

"On the way back." Tina decided and went to her sister's room.

"Hey, how was your week? You won?" Queenie asked

"Yes, Thunderbird won in Quodpot." Tina answered and sat on her bed, depressed.

"Are you going to tell me what happened?" Queenie noticed something is off.

"I don't want to tell this whole story again I just needed to tell this to Sadie so just read my mind." Tina told her sister.

"You ran away from the meeting with Pearl, I don't need to read your mind to know that, she told me herself and me to talk to you and calm you down." Queenie admitted.

"She mentioned this even to you?! I can't believe it!' Tina called.

"You were great, I'm glad you ditched her and what your professor did was awful, you were right when you left." Queenie smiled to her sister.

"She mentioned this part too?" Tina raised an eyebrow.

"You told me I can read your mind! I just wanted to know the rest of the story!" Queenie defended herself.

"Good point, at least she didn't tell you everything and yes Prott was horrible, he was nice to me after the lesson but he went to snitch on me to Pearl and that was cruel." Tina told her.

"I don't think he is a nice person." Queenie mentioned.

"He is not nice, not him and not his wife." Tina muttered.

"Wait, he is married? That's means he lives in the area, in one of the shacks we saw?" Queenie wondered.

"Yes, exactly." Tina answered.

"I wonder if they have kids." Queenie thought out loud.

"I have no idea," Tina shrugged.

"We can sneak to the house and watch." Queenie smirked.

"We can consider it, but not now, I have enough trouble with him, maybe we'll wait for the winter vacation." Tina decided, laughing.

"Fine with me, I miss to our weekly walks," Queenie said, they had hard time to be in the Orphanage, so they went to travel on the mountain many times. They found the small shacks of the teacher who lives near the school.

"Great." Tina smiled.

"How was your time with Queenie?" Sadie asked, open a small talk.

"Fine, you wanted to talk to me on something this morning?" Tina remembered.

"Yes, listen, you need to be in the No-Maj-borns gathering this week." Sadie told her.

"What?! Why? I'm not a No-Maj-born." Tina stated.

"Yes, but it's going to be a different conversation." Sadie explained.

"What you mean?" Tina asked.

"The meeting is going to be on Hallowe'en." Sadie said.

"I'm still don't understand why I need to be there." Tina insisted.

"You'll get all the explanation in the meeting." Sadie tried to avoid answering.

"I need to know the reason." Tina folded her arms.

"Alright, but don't tell this to the others, I'll tell them in Monday morning. Every Hallowe'en we do an event of sharing candies. Each student giving pumpkin full of candies to someone else from his year." Sadie explained.

"From where you get the candies?" Tina asked.

"That the point. Most of the students asking their parents to send them sweets and candies to fill the pumpkin but since No-Maj-borns and orphans can't do that, so in the No-Maj-borns gathering they give you candies to put in the pumpkin you'll give." Sadie explained.

"And since I'm the only orphan in Thunderbird, at least the only one who is not also a No-Maj-born, I need to be in there too." Tina realized.

"Exactly, I know it's not very nice, but everyone is participating in this. You won't have to be in the whole meeting just in the explanation." Sadie told her.

"Fine," Tina shrugged.

After Tina arrived to her room, she went to sleep very quickly she didn't want to talk about that, she was frustrated from what Sadie told her, she found herself imagining how her time in Ilvermorny would have look like if her parents were still alive. She thought the only things she won't have would be letters because she can get those only from Queenie and that she'll be in the Orphanage in the vacation, but she all the time realized that there are more tiny things that effect from her parents' death like the reports to Pearl and the meetings with her or the Hallowe'en story she just finds out about. She wanted her parents back, she wanted to have normal life like everyone else. Tina did a mistake when she told Sadie not to mention this in the morning, if she would have known she could have spoken about that with Queenie and complain, but now she needs to wait for next week to talk about this with her. She fell asleep crying, missing to her parents with the feeling she is alone in the world.

Author note: I know this chapter is a bit boring, chapter 13 will be better because it'll be Halloween preparation chapter. I hope you liked my idea, I tried to do something else from Hogwarts.
