"No, no, no, no, no!" Evelyn called, waking up the other four girls in the room.

"What's going on? Why you yelling in the morning?" Regina yelled at her.

"I can't find my money! The Quodpot team is going to Fitchburg to celebrate the win and I need my money!" Evelyn answered not looking at any of her roommates because she tries to find her money in her area in the room.

"Wait, you going to where?" Tina asked.

"You weren't her yesterday when she told us, they going to one of the cities to celebrate." Nella explained.

"Yes, we also did it after we won." Regina added.

"I found it!" Evelyn declared, in her hand there was small pouch with F on it. "You can go to sleep I'm sorry I interrupted you."

"Thanks," Hazel muttered.

"Enjoy your trip." Nella told her.

"Wait, are you flying to there?" Tina wondered, noticing the broom in her hand.

"Yes, it's more fun then floo." Evelyn shrugged.

"Isn't it dangerous? People can see you." Hazel mentioned.

"No, don't worry Pringle come with us and we'll camouflage ourselves properly." Evelyn told them.

"We floo there." Regina mentioned.

"You went to Salem; we are going to Fitchburg it's a different location." Evelyn reminded her.

"True." Regina shrugged.

Just then the door opened. It was Perdita, her dirty blonde hair already tied in ponytail. "Hey I'm sorry to interrupt you, Evelyn, we need to go, everyone wating for you."

"Right, I know, I couldn't find my money." Evelyn told her tied her hair to a ponytail and went to the main room with Perdita.

"I'm going back to sleep," Hazel decided.

"How was in Fitchburg yesterday? You come back very late." Tina asked Evelyn while they went to dinning room.

"Great, I bought myself a new Broomstick Servicing Kit." Evelyn told them with a smile.

"That is important thing for you." Nella mentioned.

"I know, in my house we have plenty of kits but they're not mine." Evelyn told them.

"What exactly is this kit?" Hazel wondered as they sat in the table.

"It's a kit for brooms, some polishing, clippers, things like that." Evelyn explained.

"Sounds useful." Hazel said and took some waffles.

"Girls, I need to talk to you." Sadie came to their table and sat down in an empty chair.

"What is it, Sadie?" Nella asked and took a bit from a pancake.

"Next week is Halloween. Our tradition in Ilvermorny is to do candy sharing, every student make pumpkin with bunch of candies for another student. In Friday, you'll know to whom you make the candy pumpkin." Sadie explained.

"How do we supposed to get candies?" Nella asked.

"I bought them yesterday!" Evelyn called proudly, "The team told me about that, so we all went to the candy store in Fitchburg, 'Clever Candies'. I have enough sweets to the whole pumpkin."

"That's good, Perdita also returned with many candies from your trip." Sadie mentioned.

"Wait, how I'm supposed to get candies? I don't have money to buy anything! "Hazel reminded her.

"Calm down, that exactly what I came to explain. Nella, you need to ask from your parents to send you some candies. Hazel and Tina in the No-Maj-born gathering they'll tell you everything, you'll use the candies the school buy." Sadie explained. Tina rolled her eyes on that but didn't say anything.

"Alright, I'll send them a letter," Nella told her.

"Hold on, why would Tina be in the No-Maj-born gathering?" Hazel wondered.

"She is right, I don't have any reason to be there." Tina tried to avoid it.

"Because it's the only way she could get the candies and created the pumpkin. So, you need to be there, it's not up for discussion, you'll join the No-Maj-gathering this week and next week." Sadie clarified, looking directly into Tina's eyes.

"Don't worry, I'll be there." Tina muttered and folded her arms.

"Great, enjoy your lessons, I'll see you both in the gathering." Sadie got up and went to the table with her friends.

"Well, at least it's sounds the gathering going to be interesting today, I'm glad you are joining us today, Tina." Hazel smiled. Tina didn't react on that, she wasn't sure what to say about the whole thing, she knew she didn't have a choice but she didn't want to be there with the other No-Maj-borns, her parents were magical, she is not belong there, and Hazel doesn't even realize it.

Hazel was very enthusiastic about the fact that Tina joins them later, she immediately told this to everyone in the Transfiguration classroom. "Girls, Elton, guess what? Tina is joining us to the Halloween preparation in the gathering today!" Hazel called happily.

"That's nice," Carol smiled to Tina.

"Wait, why would you be joining us?" Elton wondered.

"Because I've been asked to." Tina quickly muttered, before Hazel would made the situation worse.

"But you are not a No-Maj-born," Elena stated.

"Maybe she can't afford buying candies." Diamond whispered.

"Yes, well, her parents are dead," Hazel told them like they should have known that by now. Tina wasn't sure what she needs to do. The biggest problem was that most of the other students in the class were listening to this conversation.

"Are you alright?" Nella whispered to Tina.

Before Tina could answer Professor Prott got inside the classroom. Hazel came to sit next to Tina as always. "Seriously? Are you out of your mind?!" Tina called, quiet as she could.

"What?" Hazel asked, not realized what's wrong.

"Why did you tell them that? Why you told them about my parents?!" Tina continued.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think it's a secret." Hazel muttered.

"You shouldn't mention that, any of that!" Tina exclaimed.

"Dillon, Goldstein, can I start my lesson?" Professor Prott asked them and they got quiet.

"I'm sorry," Hazel muttered in the middle of the lesson, when she thought the professor won't hear her. Tina ignored it, she actually ignored the whole lesson, again.

"Goldstein, stay." The professor said in the end of the lesson, just like last week.

"Don't wait for me." Tina hissed to Nella and Evelyn.

"You had enough from my lessons? You don't want to listen in them anymore?" He asked.

"I listened in the lesson in Thursday." Tina said.

"You even know what the lesson subject was?" He asked her.

"I'm not sure..." She muttered, lowering her head.

"The lesson was on Emeric Switch, if you would listen to a word in the lesson, you would have known that." Prott scolded.

"I'm sorry." Tina said again, she knew she had nothing better to say.

"I want you to write a summary about Emeric's life and activities until the lesson in Thursday." Professor Prott demanded.

"But I don't have time for that, I..." Tina started to say before he cut her off.

"Don't argue, I don't want to hear any excuses, you don't listen in the class, so you going to give me work about the subject we learned, next time listen in my class. I'll give you an assignment every Monday if you won't listen to the next lesson, am I clear?" He looked her directly in the eyes.

"Yes, professor." Tina sighed.

"You are dismissed." Prott told her.

Tina didn't want to sit next to Hazel now, but she didn't have any choice. Professor Drew already was in the classroom. Even though the lesson hasn't begun yet, she couldn't ask Nella or Evelyn to switch places with her.

"What did Prott wanted?" Hazel asked, like nothing happened.

"None of your business." Tina answered coldly and sat down.

"Tina..." Hazel started.

"Don't, the lesson is about to start." Tina stated. Drew and Dots are nice professors, so even if she won't listen in their lessons, at least she won't get another extra homework.

After Charms was over, they finally had an actual chance to talk because it was lunch time. But Tina really didn't want it. "Tina, listen, I know I probably shouldn't say that..." Hazel muttered.

"You think? It was my personal life! You can't just tell this to the whole class!" Tina snapped, she started crying, tears she held for a few hours by now.

"She is right, Hazel. It's her choice who needs to know that." Nella added.

"Yes, you can't just tell secrets and private things to everyone else." Evelyn told her.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think." Hazel said.

"Well, you should have!" Tina called.

"It's seemed you told us this without a problem so I thought I could explain it. I just wanted the other No-Maj-borns to know why you'll join us today." Hazel tried to explain herself.

"I'm not hungry." Tina muttered and ran from there. She went in a different direction instead to the dining room and opened the closest door she saw. Her jaw dropped when she saw who was inside.

"Why are we still here?"

"I can't believe we need to deal with a crying child!"

"I always said we should leave!"

Tina arrived to the kitchens, and the Pukwudgies weren't happy to see her. "I'm sorry to interrupt you, I'm just looking for a private room."

"Well, this is not a private room!"

"Yes, we are working here, girl."

"I'm sorry, I'll go now." Tina murmured and got out the room. She dragged her feet to the Arithmancy class and cried there alone. When she heard steps getting close, she whipped off her tears. It was her roommates. Tina grabbed Nella's hand and dragged her gently next to the table. Nella realized the hint and sat next to Tina.

"Tina, you really won't let me sit next to you anymore?" Hazel complained.

Tina didn't answer. "Come, sit next to me." Evelyn told her reassuringly.

Tina quickly left the classroom after Arithmancy was over. She wasn't sure if she should go back to the main room, but she wanted to speak with Rina. She walked slowly, not in her regular way so no one would tell her to come to the meeting, but that was a mistake. She went to the area of the Runes classroom because she knew you could get to the main room from there too but it was a longer way.

"Tina, where are you going? I thought Sadie told you that you need to join us today in the No-Maj-born meeting." Professor Stripes asked her after she saw her in the hallway, she was the one who is in charge on the No-Maj-born meetings so she probably was on her way there.

"She did mention this... I just thought I have some time to go to my room." Tina told her teacher.

"Well, I think we should go to the meeting room together, you don't know where it is after all." The professor offered.

"Fine," Tina sighed.

They went to a room Tina hasn't been in yet. Inside the room there was a huge circle of chairs, most of them were empty. On the sides of the room were a couple of tables with pumpkins on them. Hazel waved to her, really trying to be as friendly as she could to Tina but with no use.

Tina scanned the room until she saw someone familiar from the Orphanage, she didn't want to sit with all the No-Maj-borns from her year. "Hello, Della, can I sit next to you?"

"Hey Tina, what... right, it's Halloween, of course, you are here, sure you can sit next to me." Della told her and smiled, she was in the Orphanage before Tina arrived, but she didn't know how long.

"Thank you." Tina told her and sat in the empty chair who was there.

"How is your time in Ilvermorny until now? I barely saw you even though we are in the same house." Della mentioned.

"It's alright, and it's not like we talked in the Orphanage before." Tina reminded her.

"Yes, but you arrived there only in April and it was probably very overwhelming to meet so many new peoples coming back from Ilvermorny and they are all older than you and no one else is in your age." Della stated.

"Yeah, there were too many new kids for me to get to know them and talk to them. I could talk to Sadie because her room is near us on the third floor but you are downstairs." Tina mentioned.

"The new ones are always getting a room on the top floor unless there are empty rooms on the other floors, so it does make sense." Della told her, just then, they both noticed Sadie got inside with another boy while they holding hands.

"Does Sadie have a boyfriend?" Tina wondered.

"Yeah, she didn't mention it? This is Wade Adamson, he's in her year, they dated for some time by now. Though he doesn't want to walk away from his family he is still in contact with them, they argued about that at the start of the year and they didn't talk for a month, but they move on from that by now." Della explained.

"No, she didn't say anything about this but if they broke up for some time, then I guess she didn't find a reason to tell us about that." Tina told her.

"That does make some sense." Della nodded. By now, most of the students already arrived and they were about to begin.

Theresa was the only one who continued to stand. "Hello students, as you all know Halloween is next week. As always, we'll do candy trading on this day. Everyone will get a name on Friday of someone from their year and this will be the person you'll give him your candies pumpkin. Today you'll create the pumpkins and next week we'll give you candies to fill it in."

"Now you should go and make your pumpkin, go to the tables around, if you need help, ask us to come over." Professor Stripes added.

Everyone went to the tables to start working. Tina felt really weird to be there, she didn't feel related to this or anybody there. There were knives there to carve the pumpkin and even some of the older students used them instead of magic, even though the knives were for the use of the first years who don't know how to carve the pumpkins with a spell. It was so frustrating for her that only because she is the only orphan from Thunderbird who is not No-Maj-born she has to be there. All the time she found out about another thing she needs to do differently. Tina stared at the other first years. They didn't hate the idea at all and were glad to do something without magic. Hazel was very happy, she fell in love with pumpkins when she first joined the wizarding world, so any activity with it was just exactly what she wanted. Tina was very mad about her right now, she saw Hazel as her friend, she was closer to her than to Evelyn and Nella. They talked mostly about sports and they already had inside jokes for themselves. She couldn't understand why she felt betrayed. She didn't tell them not to mention this, she thought it was an obvious thing to do. She told them this on the first day because she didn't want to keep secrets from them, she wanted to be honest, but that doesn't mean everyone else supposed to know that. They only know each other for two months by now; trust is a fragile thing and she was wrong to trust Hazel. She needs to be more careful about who she tells her life story to. She wondered how many students from her year knew about that by now. Most of the students heard the conversation in the morning but she wondered if Gale, Nathan and Tommy already heard the rumors. "Tina, I know it's weird for you to be here, but you need to go and make your candy pumpkin," Professor Calderon-Boot told her.

"I'm sorry professor, I'll do that right away." Tina muttered and got up from her chair. She went to the tables the older students used because she didn't want to be near her year. She was afraid they would say something about the conversation in the morning. So, she preferred to avoid it. Tina went to an unused pumpkin and looked at it. She wasn't sure what to do with it. Near her Sadie and Wade were. Sadie smeared some pumpkin on Wade's face.

Wade laughed, "You'll pay for it! Melofors!" He jinxed Sadie and turned her head into a pumpkin.

"You are not using here in the Pumpkin-Head Jinx here!" Professor Calderon-Boot called and waved her wand to cancel Wade's spell.

"We're sorry professor, it was a joke," Wade apologized.

"Yes, we are sorry, I finished anyway, so I'll let Wade finish his as well," Sadie told her and went from her table to Tina.

"So, you have a boyfriend?" Tina asked Sadie and crossed her arms, she preferred to do this conversation than to carve her pumpkin.

"Yes, I do," Sadie admitted.

"You never mentioned him before," Tina stated.

"Well, that's because he didn't speak to me in a month and a half. He didn't agree that I abandoned my family, but that is my life and I have the right to choose what I want to do and where I want to live." Sadie mentioned.

"Why did he jinx you?" Tina asked.

"It was just a joke. Every year when Halloween is close you could see this jinx everywhere, it's part of the holiday spirit," Sadie shrugged.

"Do you have plans for after Ilvermorny?" Tina wondered.

"No, not yet, but we'll manage. How are you? It's probably weird for you to be here." Sadie said.

"Very weird, I'm not what to do here." Tina sighed.

"You want help? I can use the Severing Charm for you. I'm sure it's weird for you to use a knife instead of a spell for it even though you haven't done something like this before, "Sadie told her.

"Yes, please do, it." Tina answered, it was the best option she had.

Sadie used Diffindo a couple of times on the pumpkin, where Tina told her to cut until the pumpkin had something similar to a face. "That enough?" Sadie asked.

"Yes, thank you," Tina nodded.

Sadie went back to Wade and Tina waited near her pumpkin to the end of the meeting. "Great work everyone, now you should leave the pumpkins here until the next week when you could fill them in with candies," Professor Calderon-Boot told them.

"You can go now, but don't forget to write your name on the note next to the pumpkin," Professor Stripes added.

Tina quickly wrote her name and walked out of the room, after many students who were faster than her. Outside the room she heard a familiar voice: "Gale, how was today meeting with the pumpkins?" It was Phiri. Tina looked her in the eyes and saw her with Gale near the corner of the hallway.

She went to them and grabbed Phiri's hand. "I'm sorry, Gale, but Rina will talk to you later I really have to speak to her now." Tina told the boy and dragged Phiri away. She really needed to talk with someone who is not from her room or Sadie.

When they were alone in another hallway Phiri freed herself from Tina's grip. "Now you can tell me what going on." She stated, if Tina acting like that, it's means something is off, but she can't push Tina to explain it.

Tina sat on the floor and hugged her knees, "It was a horrible day."

"Because you needed to be in the No-Maj-borns meeting?" Phiri assumed and sat down next to Tina.

"Yes, it starts from it. Hazel decided to tell the whole class I'm joining them today in the meeting and when the other No-Maj-borns asked she told them I'm an orphan, so now everyone know that and because it happened in Transfiguration class, I couldn't concentrate on the class, so Prott gave me an extra assignment that I need to do to our next lesson and now to be in this meeting, it was awful!" Tina cried, her speaking was mumbling and not very clear.

"Why did you need to be in this meeting from the first place?" Phiri wondered, wanting to know the full details.

"To make a pumpkin for Halloween trading," Tina explained after another sob. Phiri hugged her.

"It sounds like a very overwhelming situation, but most of it is over. You can't do anything with the fact Hazel told everyone about your parents, it happened and I'm sure most of the kids would be nice about that," Phiri told her.

"Yes, but now they know and they will probably feel pity for me about that," Tina cried.

"But you can't do anything with it, people can react in so many ways, they don't know what to do in situations like this. Besides, it won't even be a major gossip because everyone cares too much about Halloween, I don't think someone will do a big deal from it, don't worry," Phiri said.

Tina whipped her tears, "I guess you have a point."

"Yes, and don't worry about the assignment, I can go to the library with you tomorrow." Phiri reassured her.

"Thanks, I know why I wanted to talk to you, you're a good friend," Tina said, smiling softly.

"Yes, just next time be gentler with it, my wrist is hurt." Phiri joked.

Tina chuckled, "I'm sorry." Then, her face expression returned to be nervous, "Gale probably didn't understand what was wrong." Tina sighed, thinking about the aftermath of her action.

"Don't worry, I'll talk to him, he'll understand," Phiri promised and hugged Tina again.
