Brooklyn was cooking a stir fry over the stove that night when Tiffany returned home from work.
"I'm home, Gina."
Tiffany entered the kitchen and noticed Brooklyn's new hair colour.
"Love the new colour, girl!" Tiffany said, smiling.
"You like it?" Brooklyn asked.
"Like it? I LOVE it!" Tiffany replied.
"And dinner is now served."
Brooklyn put the stir fry into two bowls before passing one over to Tiffany. Soon, they started to eat.
"So, how did the job hunting go?" Tiffany asked Brooklyn.
"Still nothing." Brooklyn replied. "But I did meet this really cute guy outside the agency."
Tiffany was intrigued.
"Ooh, what's his name?"
"His name is Cameron," Brooklyn told Tiffany. "and he even gave me his mobile number!"
"I'm so jealous, Gina!" Tiffany said, laughing.
Brooklyn managed to laugh as well.
Once dinner was over, Tiffany remarked, "That was the best stir fry I've had in yonks!"
Brooklyn smiled. No one ever complimented her on her cooking before.
"Thanks, Tiff."
The next day, Brooklyn decided to give Cameron a call on his mobile.
"Hi, Cameron." she said in a soft tone. "It's Gina Di Marco."
"Oh, hey, Gina." a voice on the other end, which was Cameron's, said. "How's it going?"
"I'm doing well, thank you."
"That's good."
Brooklyn started to blush.
"Say, are you free today?" she asked Cameron.
"Well, I have a job interview at midday." he replied. "But I'm free for the rest of the afternoon."
"Why don't we hang out and go for coffee after your interview?" Brooklyn suggested.
After a few seconds of silence, Cameron agreed. "Sure!"
"Awesome stuff." Brooklyn said. "What time suits you?"
"Just after 1."
"See you then, cutie."
Brooklyn then hung up the phone.
"I'm loving this Gina Di Marco persona." she said to herself, smiling.
At 1:10pm, Brooklyn arrived at Gloria Jeans in the heart of the city. She noticed Cameron sitting at a table before making her way over to him.
"I made it." Brooklyn said. "Lovely to see you, cutie pie!"
"You too, Gina." Cameron responded before he and Brooklyn kissed on the cheek.
Brooklyn sat down across from Cameron as an employee approached her.
"Can I get you anything?" she asked Brooklyn.
"A cappuccino with NO foam, okay?!" Brooklyn replied in a snappish tone.
"No problem." the employee said, who then walked away and rolled her eyes at Brooklyn's attitude.
"You were a bit harsh there, Gina." Cameron said.
"So, how'd your interview go?" Brooklyn asked, changing the subject. The last thing she wanted was for her true persona to come out.
"I think I did well." Cameron replied. "I should hear back from them later this week to find out if I get the job."
"What's it for?"
"Just working in an office."
Brooklyn smiled to herself. Soon, a different employee gave Brooklyn her cappuccino.
"There you are, love." he said.
"Thanks, darling." Brooklyn replied in a sugary sweet tone.
Brooklyn then stared at Cameron for a few seconds, while she drank her cappuccino.
"What?" he asked her.
"I just can't resist how sexy you are!" Brooklyn replied, still using the sugary sweet tone in her voice.
Cameron started to blush.
"After this, why don't we..."
Brooklyn smirked at him before saying, "I love a wild time!"
When Brooklyn returned to Tiffany's apartment later that afternoon, she found her new friend home from work early.
"Hi, Tiff." Brooklyn said. "You're home early."
"My boss gave me an early mark." Tiffany said. "Lucky me!"
"Well, I just caught up with Cameron Watson." Brooklyn said, as she pulled down her hair. "I must say, he is very handsome and quite the spunk!"
Tiffany soon realized what Brooklyn and Cameron got up to.
"Gina Di Marco, you bad girl!" Tiffany said, smirking.
"That's why I'm home late in the afternoon." Brooklyn told her. "It was quite the experience!"
Tiffany laughed.
"So, did you want to come out with me on Friday night?" Tiffany asked Brooklyn.
"Well..." Brooklyn started to reply.
"I won't take 'no' for an answer, Gina." Tiffany said firmly. "I want you to meet some of my girlfriends."
Brooklyn took a deep breath before managing to reply, "Sure, I'd like that."
"How about a pizza for dinner?" Tiffany suggested.
"Sounds good to me." Brooklyn responded. "I'll just go and freshen up."
As Brooklyn entered the bathroom, she closed the door before smiling to herself. Things were starting to pick up for her in Sydney, and there was nothing that was going to stop her from being "Gina Di Marco". As far as Brooklyn was concerned, "Gina" was here to stay, and "Brooklyn" was nothing more than a distant memory.
