Chapter 11: Jedi Ambush

Well I finally started working on Chapter 11 here. I lost my motivation to work on this fic for the past two weeks due to a lack of reviews, so apologies to those of you have been waiting for a new chapter. If anyone has anything to say about this chapter or the whole story that would certainly help. Please review and hopefully it will inspire me to work more on this story.

Ralon and Jaster had been watching the prison where Samal had been kept for the past few days. But he'd been moved to the Kaarkada police station now. With them was Yusano who stood ready.

"We need to move quickly. The Sith are not going to stay and fight for this world. They are just going to take the resources they can get and leave. We must allow them to take Samal and turn him to the dark side!" Ralon said. "The Republic fleet should be here any minute. The Sith will be planning to evacuate. If he gets off world we likely lose him. Are you ready?"

Both his padawan and Echani ally nodded.

"All Sith personnel prepare for immediate evacuation of the planet. Load whatever supplies you can onto the transports and prepare to jump to hyperspace!"

The Sith broadcast was heard by everyone of their soldiers through their comlinks or holocoms. Sith Soldiers or workers were busy in spaceports loading their black shuttles and freighters with whatever resources they had managed to collect from the planet.

In her office, Linassa was also preparing to evacuate herself. She tasked a pair of Sith Terror Troopers she'd called into the room with carrying Samal to the shuttle as he lay unconscious. The Terror Troopers were a special unit outfitted with the best weapons the Sith army could supply. They'd largely replaced the Imperial guard that had once protected the great Sith Emperor. Even for Jedi for they were formidable opponents, armed with repeater rifles, vibroswords and blaster pistols at their hips, as well as jetpacks on their backs. The jetpacks allowed for them to move quickly, either further away or toward an enemy. Their rifles used metal bolts that Jedi could not reflect back at them, their vibroswords would work in face they needed a melee weapon, and the pistol could work when they might need to save their rifle's ammo.

The two cuffed Samal and worked together to carry him ahead as Linassa walked behind them. She'd left Malor's body, as there was no time or reason to bring it. She was however angry at the loss of one of her apprentices. Malor had been a useful brute to destroy her enemies. She'd trained him for over three years now. Yet he'd fallen so easily thanks to his own overconfidence. She was however partially to blame for his death.

Linassa had Samal would been tempted to attack the man who'd killed his Echani Master. She'd even planned to use it to her advantage in the future. To fuel a rivalry between them that would make them grow stronger. Then one day they would fight and Linassa would be left with the stronger apprentice. That had happened much faster than she had thought it would. The Sith Lord only hoped this would not slow her new apprentice's progress.

She, her Sith troopers carrying Samal made it outside where they had a speeder car ready to take them. The lead trooper took the controls while Linassa took the front passenger side. Samal was strapped in the back along with the other trooper. As she sat there, Linassa pulled out her comlink.

"Sadastra, come in!"

"Master. I've managed to load several tons of metal onto our transports!"

"Well get them up into space!" Linassa said.

"At once! I'll meet you and Malor at the rendezvous point!"

The comlink went out before Linassa could inform her second apprentice of Malor's death. The speeder rose a foot off the ground and maneuvered out of the police parking grounds. Soon it was on the street, ready to go off at high speed…

But instead the speeder stopped… mostly. It still seemed to be try to move forward but it as though it couldn't. As though a tractor beam was on it!

"What the-" the pilot said, unsure of what was going on.

But Linassa, properly attuned to the force, could feel its power around them. It was a force wielder that held their speeder back and prevented them from going anywhere. She looked behind them and saw a man with his right hand outstretched. He wasn't dressed like a Jedi… more a common man, but Linassa could the force's incredible power within him. She also recognized his face. Ralon Ogan, one of the orders most well known guardians. He'd slain over a dozen powerful Sith in his time.

Linassa extended her fingertips and shot a bolt of Sith lightning at her foe. It made contact, illuminating the Jedi masters skull. But he did not let go! His teeth clenched, but he shrugged off the pain. The Sith lady hissed and prepared to hit him with a constant stream of lightning. Before she could however, something blue spun and hit their speeder in the blink of an eye. The vehicle collapsed on the street, not going anywhere. The blue thing that had hit them, a lightsaber, flew back to the hand of its owner. Another Jedi, one that was mostly bald with a scar over his left eye. He was young, about the same age as Samal. Linassa guessed he was a padawan.

"Jedi!" she said.

Getting out of the speeder, Linassa reached for her lightsaber at her belt. Its red blade ignited.

"I heard reports that a Jedi had been seen on this planet," she said.

Ralon Ogan drew his own lightsaber, it was a double bladed version. A blue blade like his padawan's sprang to life at either end of the hilt. He didn't reply to her. Obviously he wasn't one to talk to an enemy. She grinned.

"If you wish to fight then come at me, Master Jedi!"

The Jedi frowned, then began advancing toward her one step at a time. As the master did so, the padawan spoke.

"Shall I handle the troopers master?"

"Yes Jaster but-

"Arrggh!"

"No wait! Wait!"

Jaster charged at the Terror Troopers who had taken Samal out of the speeder as they exited. One of them opened fire on Jaster as he charged. The padawan blocked the rounds of metal that came as his way. They melted on contact with the plasma blade. Jaster didn't break his run as he blocked the rounds, then somersaulted into the air. The Terror Trooper rolled forward, avoiding the blade which struck where he'd been a split second ago.

At the same moment, Linassa began an assault on Master Ogan. She seized the speeder she'd just exited from and hurled it at the Jedi Master. He put his hand out, stopping the vehicle before it could crash into him. He diverted it to the side so it instead hit other parked speeders in the street. A small explosion filled the area.

Linassa then turned to the Sith Trooper that held Samal.

"Get him to the shuttle!"

"Yes my lord!"

The jetpack on the Terror Troopers back lit up and he took off holding Samal by the armpits. He soared up, he was getting away!

"Oh no you don't!" a voice called from above.

The flying Terror Trooper saw an Echani standing on top of a nearby roof. He shot with a blaster rifle, hitting the Terror Trooper in the jetpack. It sparked and went out of control, the trooper screamed and dropped his prisoner.

"Samal!" Yusano yelled in fear for his friend.

Jaster saw the boy falling to the ground. He reached out with the force, managing to catch him before he could hit. It might not have killed him but it certainly would have injured him badly. Jaster only held him up for a second, but in that time the still standing Terror Trooper that faced him saw an opening. He shot a volley of metal rounds at the padawan whose back was toward him.

Jaster reacted quickly. He turned in time to block some of the shots, but one caught him in the shoulder. He yelled, unable to contain his rage from the wound. Then he leapt at the Terror Trooper again, blade raised high as he resorted to his preferred form of Ataru and its acrobatic attacks. But the disciplined soldier aimed upward and shot another few rounds. Blinded by his aggressive rage, Jaster didn't switch to defense in time. The bullets hit him and his lightsaber fell out of his hands and he hit the ground.

Out of the corner of his eye, Ralon watched his padawan fall.

"No!" he shouted.

Only for the red blade of Linassa to clash with his blue one.

Well a Jedi had to die sooner or later. Usually it's the master like with Qui Gon or Obi Wan, and later Luke Leia and Han. My first master has already fallen in the form of Brano. Now Ralon must face Linassa. Will I get a piece of the action? Find out? Did you think Malor died too easily last time? Well I did take him by surprise and his arrogance lead to his downfall as it does many in real life as well. Please share any thoughts you have in a review. Even one of those will encourage me to get the next chapter out sooner I think. I think I'll go over this story as well a little bit as I noticed a little inconsistency when I was reading it yesterday.
