30 years had passed since the battle for Alrest had happened and society is very different. My name I Rin, and this is my chronicle of the adventure of my life, I began to write. "Rin, get down here your father wants to speak to you," my mother yelled. She wasn't really my mother, but she and her husband Rex had adopted me after they found me in a forest inside the Ardanian-Tantalese Alliance. I was just a young child, only about 5 years old, and I had just watched my birth parents be brutally ripped apart and eaten by a giant volf pack. I still remember their last words, "Run Rin." Those words still haunt me to this day.

"Okay, Mom!" I yelled down the stairs of our small house in Fonsett. As I walked past her saw how beautiful she was with her goldish-hazel eyes and blonde hair. I knew she was a blade, but she still deeply cared for me. As I walked outside the sun blared in my eyes. Then I saw Dad in front of me. "Rin, Come over here," he called. Once I had gotten over to him he whispered to me. "Don't tell your mom but I think its finally time you try to resonate with a core crystal." "Really!" I said. He had been training me to fight, and take care of myself for years. He taught me everything he knew, from battle strategies, to how to set up camp. We sparred all the time, but even with him holding back, and using a normal weapon, I never bested him, not even once.

"Shh, Shh," he hissed at me, "or your mom 'll hear." He pulled a small crystal in the shape of a cross out of his bag, similar to the jewel that was in mom's chest. But this one was red? "Why is it red," I asked. "It's because it's the third Aegis." He responded. This was all going too fast. I knew one of the Aegis's was destroyed in the battle for Alrest, and that mom was an Aegis. I knew from the stories about Dad's adventure that he learned that there were three Aegis's when he spoke to the Architect. "But you said that the third trinity processor traveled to another dimension?" I was so confused. That's what I thought, until last night when a large portal opened up over your mom's and my bed and spat this out at me." he answered. "But I think you're ready!" he said enthusiastically. "Alright," I said with confidence, I'll do it.

Next thing I know, I'm holding the core crystal, and a light so bright that it could probably be seen in mainland Alrest poured out. The last thing I heard was Mom screaming, "Rex what are you doing?"

I wake up in an area surrounded by a sea of clouds. All I could see were two giant dead beings in the background. "Do you want the power to control your future?" came from a voice behind me. I turn around, and to my surprise, I see a person who looks no older than thirty and has shoulder-length silver hair. "Do you want my power?" he asks. "I-I don't know." I stammered. "The power to change the future can be yours," he said.

After a few minutes of contemplating, I finally decided. "Okay," I said, "I want your power." "Then it is done," he said, "I am Alvis, the third Aegis, and the missing trinity processor," he stated. "I-I'm Rin," came blurting out my mouth. Then Alvis said, "Well, I guess it's time we head back, isn't it now."

When I woke up I could see Mom, Dad, and Alvis all standing above me. "Rex why would you let him bond with an Aegis, of all blades," Mom scolded, "You know the amount of strain that puts on a person." "I know, I know Mythra," Dad replied, "But he bonded with it, otherwise this guy wouldn't be here." He slapped Alvis on the back.

"Mom, Dad?" I questioned. "Oh, Rin," Mom said lovingly. Ugh, there's a throbbing pain in my head. I'm fine," I say. "You did it," Dad congratulated. As I got up, I could really see the concern on her face. So I was really a driver of an Aegis? The first thing that I said after a few minutes of awkward silence was, "Hey dad want to spar?" "Sure!" he replied. "Alvis come on!" I called. When we outside, Dad said, "Since you're using a blade, so will I." I just prayed to the Architect that he didn't choose Mom. "Alright Roc, Dad said, "let's do this." Next thing I knew there was a transparent, teal claymore was in my hands. It had a hole in the middle of it with a symbol in it. 神 I think it was. I readied myself. This is my chance to finally beat him. Stay calm and collected Rin, I thought. Then we launched at each other. Dad sent a flurry of strikes my way. But then time seemed to slow down to almost a halt. "This is one of my powers," Alvis said. "Its know as vision, or foresight. In this time you can see your opponents moves before they even perform them." This is so cool!" I said. Then I saw dad come at me with three slashes. When time resumed, I quickly parried his strikes. The shock on his face was hilarious. "Nice moves. Why don't you try blocking this," Dad said. And then, in a blur, he was behind me and hit one good strike on my back before I even had the chance to see him there. After that, it was over. My movements became sluggish, and even when I used vision, he made a different outcome based on how I moved and prepared for his strike. Barely minutes later, he had both his blades at my neck. "Good try, but next time, try not to rely on foresight that much," he said. I was so confused. How did he know about foresight? It was starting to get dark. "Ahhhh," I yawned. I was wiped after that sparring with Dad. I needed some well-deserved rest.
