Hello readers :) This is a college AU where people in the Marauders Era goes to college with the Percy Jackson characters. I want them to mix so if you have any suggestion about what kind of ship there may be, please leave a review (Ex:Piper/Kingsley or something like that). Also, please note that I'm twelve and have no college experience whatsoever, so forgive me if I get some of the information and vocabulary wrong. But since this is fanfiction, most of the stuff is made up, so don't kill me if something is different than your college. I'm going to add more POVs next time, so tell me what you want. You can also give me some advice about the plot and which characters should be friends. Now enough of me talking, read on!
Warning: slight mention of abuse
It was the start of another year at Half Blood University. There are students and parents milling around, asking for directions, exploring the campus, taking selfies. RAs walked around, handing out maps and information sheets. In front a tall willow tree, several foldable, plastic tables were set up so students can register and get their dorm keys. IDs were handed out, friends greeted each other, movers walked by hauling boxes.
"Aw, too bad you aren't in the same dorm with us, Peter." A tall boy with black hair and silver blue eyes complained as the four of them walked down the path that would lead them to their dormitory.
"Sirius, if you want all four of us to room together, then perhaps you should have chose the all guys dorm instead of the mixed gender ones." Another boy with brown hair replied, rolling his eyes.
"Come on, Remus. How could I pass on a chance to room with a hot girl for the rest of the school year, right James?" Sirius said, looking at his best friend for support. "James? JAMES!"
The boy in question was too busy staring at a red headed girl wearing a cream colored blouse, talking to her family. He finally snapped out of it when Sirius waved a hand in front of his face.
"Geez, what is it with you and red heads. Don't think I didn't notice you staring at that RA earlier, Molly what's her name."
"I was not-" he was cut off by Peter, who gladly changed the subject before a full blown argument starts. "Look, we're here! The Gryffindor Dorm."
"Did you bring everything? Your wallet? Clothes? Charger?"
"Yes mom, I have everything I need." A boy with sea green eyes answered, using the annoyance in his voice to cover up how close to tears he was. He wasn't the most successful in schools, but his mom has always been there for him, ready to cheer him up with a batch of blue chocolate chip cookies when he was feeling down.
"Oh, Percy, you're such a big boy now. I'll miss you so much when you're gone. Remember to call me at least once a week, okay?" A woman with brown hair said, wiping away tears in her eyes.
"I miss you too, mom. And I promise I'll call you every three days. I can move these boxes by myself, don't want to be late for your book conference, I know how much you want to publish your novel. Love you!" With one last hug, Sally got in her car and drove away. Percy didn't stop waving until the blue Prius was out of sight. Then he turned back to his boxes.
"I got this."Twenty five minutes and dropping one of the boxes on his foot later, he collapsed in front of his dorm 4B, completely out of breath.
"Here's your ID."
"Thank you Reyna." A blonde boy replied, before his best friend Leo dragged him off. "C'mon, dude! We have a dorm to go to, roommates to meet, campus to explore, and friends to make."
"Alright Leo, slow down. Let's get our stuff from the car first." Leo pouted, but didn't argue. After we hauled two duffel bags, a suitcase, three boxes and a backpack off Thalia's car, we started walking in the direction of the dormitories. We stopped in front of four building and looked up in awe. Each building was four stories tall and plain white, with one colored streak on the left side going straight up. There was a red, a blue, a green, and a yellow streak.
"So which dormitory are we in?"Leo asked, scratching his head. "The red one, I believe that's the Gryffindor Dormitory." I answered, pointing to the leaflet they handed out earlier. "It says here on the information sheet that the dorms are sorted by year, and all the freshman are in Gryffindor. The sophomores are in Hufflepuff, the yellow building, juniors in Ravenclaw, the blue building, and seniors in Slytherin, which is of course the green building. Juniors and seniors could move out if they want, which is why Ravenclaw and Slytherin is mostly empty."
"Enough of that useless information. Let's explore our dorm, race you to room 4C!" Leo said before running off. I looked at the large pile of boxes and bags at me feet and sighed. Typical of Leo to leave me to carry all these things by myself.
I can't believe I'm actually here at Half Blood University! I've been wanting to come here ever since learning that my mum went to school here too. So far, I liked the looks of the campus. There are lots of flowers and trees scattered all over the place.
"And over there is the central green! I used to spend my weekends sitting in the shades under that large sycamore tree, reading a book. There's always something calming and peaceful about this place." My mum said, smiling. Me and my sister love it when she talks about her college times. When we are little, mum would bring out pictures and point each of her classmates and tell us a story about them. But that was before Petunia began being all distant.
Ever since Tuney found out that she wasn't enrolled in Half Blood University, she began acting all haughty, like she didn't care about this 'oh, so posh' school. And when I got my administration letter a few months ago, she stopped talking to me all together. I really miss her. But it doesn't matter, nothing is going to bring me down today!
Suddenly I saw a familiar face in the crowd. "Hey, Severus!" A boy with oily black hair turned around and smiled before heading over.
"Of course this he would be here. This is a school for freaks!" Petunia muttered loudly, knowing we would hear her. I pretended I didn't notice and went to catch up with Severus while my mum reprimanded her.
"Sev! How's your summer? I didn't get to see you a lot this year, with my part time job at the library and all. But it's okay, we're both here and will have plenty of time to hangout."
"My summer's the usual, just helping my mom around home. You know my dad, he's not getting any better." Severus winced, remembering the drunk man always hitting him for this reason or that. I couldn't help sympathizing him.
Changing the topic, I said, "what dorm are you in? Any chance we'll share? I'm in room 4A."
"I'm in 4E." Oh. My face fell. "But it's okay. We'll still have classes together and see each other on campus a lot." I smiled, and he smiled back.
Annabeth was on a tour. The guide pointed out important buildings like the mess hall, library, rec, etc. But all Annabeth could notice is the architecture. Whoever built this university is a bloody genius, Annabeth thought, they mixed Roman and modern buildings together and made it work. There were Corinthian columns outside a small coffee shop and the paved road looked like an ancient Roman engineer built it. They went in the lecture hall, and immediately Annabeth could tell the acoustics are perfect. The entire roof was made out of glass and sunlight flooded the whole room.
Since she got nothing else to do, Annabeth decided to explore her dorm room. Lugging her two large suitcases behind her, she marveled at the thoughtfulness of the small ramp at the side of the staircase. Who ever built this building knew that people will need to move a lot of things up and down.
The fourth floor was painted a light beige color and there were six doors, three on each side of the hall. Each door had a scarlet sign, and on it carved in delicate gold letters were the dorm number. The only thing that was out of place was the messy array of boxes outside room 4B, Annabeth's dorm, and the boy with wind blown black hair and sea green eyes. He was lying on the floor completely out of breath.
"Are you okay?" Annabeth asked, wondering if this was her roommate.
"I'm fine, exhausted, but fine." The boy answered flashing a grin. "I'm Percy by the way, Percy Jackson."
"Annabeth Chase, and I would shake your hand if I could." Annabeth answered, nodding to the two boxes she was holding.
"I'm in dorm 4B, are you my roommate?" Percy asked after he stood up and brushed off the dust.
"Yup," Annabeth said nodding. He seems pretty nice, she thought, and kinda cute too.
Again, all advice and suggestions are welcome. Please review!
