"Purvi!"A girl around the age of 22 sigh when she heard her name being called. Purvi sigh heavily and get up from her chair by her desk and walk out of her room.
Purvi walk down the grand spiral staircase that stops in living room of the mansion she lives in. Purvi spot a woman sitting on the couch in her business suit while swiping her finger on the tablet in her hand.
"Yes mother." Purvi stops in front of the woman. The business woman look up when she heard Purvi and give her a small smile while her eyes shine with love.
Anyone can become a fool but not Purvi. The woman sitting on couch is her adopted mother who is in her early 50s but looks like in her early 40s. Woman tried her best to maintain her looks and health to look younger.
The reason Purvi know that the smile and the love shining in her eyes is fake is because the woman usually give her this look when she need her help in something but other than that her adopted mother doesn't like her much. The only person who ever love and care about her was her adopted father, Rajan Mathur.
He love her like his own daughter and never once let her feels like she was not his blood. He always make sure to give her everything she needs and never make her feels like an outsider. He was the reason that she is in this mansion because he love kids and for some reason the couple have their own children so her father decided to adopt her while her adopted mother was not much in favor of it but couldn't really do anything to stop her husband.
"Purvi, beta yahan betho mere pass." Purvi adopted mother said to her sweetly. Purvi takes a few steps forward and sit at some distance. Her adopted mother try her best to look hurtful but Purvi could see behind that look.
"Aap ko kuch chahiye?" Purvi asked her as she nervously rub her hands together. Madhu, her adopted mother look at her and sigh.
"Purvi, tum janti ho jab tum sirf 3 saal ki thi tab Rajan tumhe iss ghar mei leke aye thay. Tumhe yaad hai jab hum orphanage aye thay tab tumhari ek muskaan ne Mr. Rajan Mathur, jo ke ek strict business man thay, ko pigla diya tha. Tumhari ek muskaan ne woh kia jo main humesha se karne ki koshish karti thi. Woh tumse bohat pyar karte thay Purvi magar-" Madhu was cut it off by Purvi.
"Karte thay nahi abhi bhi karte hain. Woh yahan nahi hain tou kia hua, humare bech humesha rahen gaye." Purvi says while Madhu look at her and nodded slowly knowing that how much Purvi believe that Rajan will be always in between them.
"Tumne sahi kaha woh humesha humare bech rahen gaye magar Purvi, Rajan ke kuch wade aur kaam hain jo woh pure nahi kar paye aur ab woh kaam hume karne hain aur uske liye mujhe tumhara sath chahye unke bache hue kaamon ko pura karne ke liye. Tou kia tum mera sath dogi?" Madhu asked her. Purvi look away from her face to ground as she think about it. Purvi didn't want to help her in anything.
"Purvi, mujhe pata hai tum yeh nahi chahogi ke woh marne ke baad pareshan hon aur afsoos karein. Liken unki ladli beti hai na unke adhoray kaam pure karne ke liye. Hain na?" Madhu try to blackmail her emotionally. Purvi look at her and nodded slowly because she didn't want her father to regret for anything. She only want him to rest in heaven.
"Theek hai main apki help karungi." Purvi says and stood up to walk away but stop at the entrance of the living room when Madhu call her.
"Purvi, ab jab tum meri help karogi tab phir tum mere sath aaj sham party mei bhi chalogi na?" Madhu asked standing up from her place. Purvi frowned in confusion.
"Konsi party?" Purvi asked her. Madhu started to walk toward her as she answer her question.
"Rajan ke purane business partner Mr. Verma ne party rakhi hai aur hume bulaya hai kuch zaroori baatein karne ke liye. Ache se ready ho jana. Mr. Verma mumbai ke sabse bare business man hain." Madhu told her and patted her shoulder before walking away. Purvi close her eyes and sigh heavily. She never liked business parties. She always stays in her room when her father held parties and only come down to greet a few people who is her father close friends but never meet or heard about Mr. Verma before.
'I guess, I just have to wait and see what he wants to talk about.' Purvi thought and went back in her room to study for her on going project in the company.

"There you go, all set." Purvi personal makeup artist, Shreya says as she steps back after finishing her work. Purvi turn to mirror and saw her looking at the completely different person. Her makeup looks flawless but still she didn't like it.
"Would you mind removing this eye makeup and replacing it with something more soft and natural?" Purvi asked politely. Shreya frown in confusion but did what she was asked to do. A little did she know that Purvi is not much into heavy and dark kind of makeup but seeing her in that beautiful red gown made her think of doing it that way.
"Is this okay?" Shreya asked as she finish doing her magic. Purvi look at herself in mirror again and smile with a nod.
"Perfect. Thank you, Shreya." Purvi give a smile. Shreya return back one and pack up her things.
"Purvi, chalo hum late ho rahe hain." Madhu says as she walk in Purvi's room doing something on her phone. Shreya walk away with her bag leaving the two alone. Purvi stood up from the small stool and look at her mother expectedly to say something about her apperance.
"I am ready." Purvi says with a nervous smile as Madhu look up and nodded before walking out. Purvi sigh sadly and shake her thinking that she expect too much for her. Purvi take a quick glance of herself in full length and walk out after grabbing her phone and clutch.
Purvi follow her mother downstairs and out of the front door. They sat in the car and drive toward Mr. Verma house. Their ride was fill with silence almost all the way expect the time where Madhu had to answer some of the calls. Purvi sigh silently and look out of the window as she saw the building passing by.
"Purvi." Purvi look at her mother when she call her only to see her typing on her phone.
"Yes mother?" Purvi asked and turn her head to look out of the window again.
"Achi lag rahi ho. Yeh dress tum pe suit kar raha hai." Madhu says without looking at her direction. Purvi head snapped toward Madhu when she heard her and lightly pinch herself to see if she was dreaming because Madhu rarely give her a compliments.
"Thank you." Purvi whisper and look out again with a happy smile on her face.
It doesn't take long for them to reach there. Driver pull the car over the side and get out to open the door for them. Madhu get out of the car first and Purvi followed her and look down at her gown before walking beside her mother inside of the mansion.
Purvi look around as they step inside and saw many people in business suits or gown standing and talking to each other. Purvi follow Madhu when she walk somewhere and saw a man around her father age talking to someone else.
"Mr. Verma." Madhu call to get his attention. The old man turn toward them and smile widely.
Purvi look at the man and take in his looks. Sure the man did look old with his salt and pepper kind of hair with slight double chin and wrinkle around the corner of his eyes when he smile.
"Mrs. Mathur, aap hi ka wait ho raha tha." Mr. Verma says as he look at Purvi. "Yeh kon hai?" Purvi look at Madhu and saw her nodding.
"Purvi Mathur, it is nice to meet you." Purvi introduce herself. Mr. Verma eyes brighten by here Purvi and smile.
"Oh... Tou tum ho Purvi. Jiske baare mei Rajan baatein kia karta tha." Mr. Verma says and shake her hand. Purvi smile slighlty at the mention of her late father.
"Anyways, congratulation on 20th anniversary of your company." Madhu says with a smile. Mr. Verma smile and they started to talk about their business.
"Excuse me." Madhu stop her conversation with Mr. Verma and turn to Purvi who look at her with confusion on her face. "Purvi tum jao party enjoy karo, business ki baaton se tum bore ho jaogi." Purvi nodded getting the hint to leave them alone.
Purvi walk away as she saw Madhu getting back to her business talk. Purvi sigh and walk around slowly and greet the few people she remember from the party at her own house.
"Ma'am." Purvi look when she heard someone and saw a waiter standing with a tray of drink in his hand. Purvi smile slightly and pick up a glass. She cautionally take a sip and was relief when she taste soft drink without any trace of alcohol or any other thing.
"You don't look like you belong here." A voice says making Purvi look at her right. Purvi eyebrows shot up in surprise as she saw a handsome man around her age standing looking at her. He gave her a smile that caused her heart to skip a beat.
"W-why did you say that?" Purvi says and mentally slap herself for sounding nervous. She take another sip from her drink and look away from his face. She know if she didn't than she mighty stare at his face all night and will make him think creepy about her.
"Because you are not like these rich type of people. Unless you are but you are also good at hiding it." The man says what he thinks. Purvi shrugged and continue to take few sips.
"I wouldn't like to say that I am rich but at the same time I kind of am, if that makes any sense." Purvi frown in confusion as if did she really make any sense. Purvi look at the man as he laugh lightly.
"It did make sense but in a weird way. Now you say that, you look like you are rich but didn't go at these type of parties." The man says. Purvi hmm and think about it for a few seconds.
"Yeah, you could say that." Purvi nodded and finish off the drink in her glass and put it on the tray of the waiter passing by.
"By the way, I am Kavin Ahuja." The man says introducing himself to her. Purvi look at his hand then at him.
"Purvi Mathur." Purvi put her slighlty cold hand into his warm hand and shake it lightly.
"Nice to meet you, Purvi. I have to go now but it was nice talking to you." Kavin says and give her one last breath taking smile and walk away when she nodded and left his hand.
Purvi hand tingle slightly and she look at it then at the direction where he went. Sure, he did leave some of his charming effect on her. Purvi shake her hand and cool down her face when it heat up with light blush.
"Purvi." Purvi heard Madhu voice and saw her coming toward her. Purvi straighten and look at Madhu.
"Mr. Verma bula rahe hain tumhe. Unko kuch zaroori baat karni hai business se related." Madhu informed her. Purvi nodded and walk away with Madhu beside her. She lead Purvi toward a small hallway and stops in front of a door. Madhu knock twice and they heard a voice calling them to come in.
They enter in and Purvi look around at the home office. There was a desk and a laptop on place on it. There was also a couch and shelf fill with files. Purvi also notice one more person in there beside Mr. Verma who is sitting behind the desk on his chair. A man around her age.
"Purvi, inse milo, yeh hain Mr. Verma ka beta Dushyant." Madhu introduce Purvi to the person. Purvi smile and nodded greeting them. Purvi take seat on the couch as the two visitor chairs where taken by Madhu and Dushyant. Purvi look at Mr. Verma son and could see how much attractive he is but the man outside grabbed her attention.
"Tou Purvi tumhe tou pata hi hoga Rajan aur meri dosti ka." Mr. Verma paused and look at Purvi who nodded and glance at Madhu who choose to ignore her.
"Tou tumhe yeh bhi pata hoga ke Rajan ne mujhse 1 crore rupay liye thay jab ussay business mei lose hua tha." Mr. Verma says. Purvi frowned in confusion. She did know that her father almost lost everything he had a few years ago before he died but never know he take money from his friend to get stable again.
"Now to clear your confusion, mujhe paise nahi chahiye." Mr. Verma says. Purvi sigh in relief hearing him because she know that since her father deceased they had some financial issues in their business.
"Liken ek aur cheez hai jiske baare mei tumhe nahi pata." Mr. Verma paused and stood up from his desk and walk over her with a file and handed it to her.
"Yeh Rajan ne contract banwaya tha ke kyun woh dosti ko rishtedari mei badlna chahta tha." Purvi was frozen when she heard Mr. Verma. She quickly open up the file and saw the contract in which it is written that Rajan and Mr. Verma agreed to get their kids married to each other. Purvi look at the end of the page and saw her father signature.
"Tum dekh sakhti ho yeh Rajan ke signature hain aur sirf woh hi nahi balke hum sab bhi yehi chahte hain. Tou kia tum iss rishte ke liye tayar ho? Kya tum mere bete Dushyant se shadi karogi?" Mr. Verma asked her.
Purvi was shocked as she heard him. She look at him then at Madhu who was now looking at her hopefully. Purvi eyes went back to the file in her hand and saw her father signature.
She never know that her father wants her to marry his friend and former business partner son.
