Oh my a new story! What's this!? Well yes as I had announced this by other project a Rwby story! My time will be divided between A stalker in Lugnica and this story. So if you like this story I highly suggest you check that one out. Anyways I'm rambling too much! Lets start the story!

Chapter 1: Lost in time! (And space)

"Oh my God get us out of here!" Gale yelled at the top of his lungs. He was running, a huge demon chasing him.

"I'm trying but portals are an exact science!" Hoji yelled. Many kids had imaginary friends as kids Gale had a demon who called himself the expert weaponsmith.

"I don't care where we land! Just open one!" He yelled pulling the pin on a grenade and throwing it back.

"We might end up inside a wall!" Hoji replied the beast gaining on them.

"Just get us the fuck out of here!" Gale yelled back.

"Okay but if we die it's your fault!" Hoji said. A portal opened in front of them. It looked like a city. Without thinking it twice ran through it. The portal closed behind him. He let out a triumphant laugh as he looked at where the portal was.

"Not today!" He stopped laughing when he turned around. A girl with a red scythe stood in front of him. A bunch of what he assumed were criminals were looking at him.

"Okay... That was strange... Well go get them!" The guy with orange hair ordered.

"Oh fuck!" Gale said pulling out his katana. He and the girl started fighting off the criminals.

"How did you do that!?" The girl asked excitedly while they fought the criminals off.

"I ate my veggies" Gale jokes taking out four of the thugs. He quickly noticed something. There was some sort of force field around the thugs. He wasn't cutting through it somehow.

'Wow Hoji your weapon is shit' Gale joked.

'Excuse me!? I made it to cut through anything! Maybe your technique is shit!' He countered. He stayed quiet for a few seconds. 'Wait... What's this energy?'

'Something interesting?' Gale asked.

'Eh... Let me investigate this' and with that the voice stopped. Gale and the girl took care of the thugs quickly. He followed the girl as she followed the leader.

"End of the line Red and company!" He said shooting an explosive out of his cane.

'His cane is a grenade launcher!?' Gale thought surprised.

"Two can play that game!" Gale yelled as he pulled out a rocket launcher and shot it. The missile barely missed him.

"What!?" The criminal asked surprised. A woman in some sort of... Witch outfit he guessed appeared to help them.

"Yes! Spank him with that crop!" Gale yelled getting a glare from the woman. She seemed to use magic to keep the bullhead from flying away. Seemed like magic because neither Gale nor Hoji felt magic emanating from her.

A shadowy figure stepped out of the cabin. She created some glass spears and shot it at them. Now that felt like it really was magic. The woman protected them but Gale dove for the girl. The bullhead got away. Their savior turned to look at them.

"You're a huntress!" The girl said excitedly. "Can I have your autograph!?" Gale sighed. He knew where this was going already.

The two of them were of course escorted to a police station. They were forced to give out their weapons. The girl put her scythe on the table which seemed to be retractable.

Gale put the sword on the table. Then a revolver... Then a shotgun... Then a crossbow... Then a flamethrower... Then a rocket launcher... Then a machinegun... The people present stared wide-eyed. The policemen tried to act normal as they took the weapons. The girl he had fought with was in total shock while the lady that saved them tried to look cool even though she was surprised.

They were put in an interrogation room. Gale sat there silently. The woman from before walked into the room crop in hand.

"I hope that you realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly, kids. You put yourself and others in great danger."

"They started it!" The girl said.

"I want my lawyer!" Gale bellowed.

"If it were up to me, you'd be sent home... With a pat on the back." The woman said before slapping the crop on the table making the girl yelp. "And a slap in the hand. But there is someone that would like to meet you." She moves to the side and a man with grey hair and a green scarf. He walked in with a tray of cookies and a cup on the other hand.

He moves closer to them and inspects them. "Ruby Rose... You have silver eyes. and..." Clearly expecting his name.

"Gale Greene" he simply said. His stomach growled. It had been a while since he actually had anything to eat. He quickly grabbed a cookie and ate it.

He showed both of them a video of the fight. He had no clue where the camera was or why it was there but one thing was for sure...

'That angle is so unfavorable!' Gale complained.

'Implying that you have any flattering angles.' Hoji rebutted.

'Fuck you!'

'No thanks'

"So... Where did you learn to do this?" He asked looking at Ruby.

"S-signal academy" she said shyly.

"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?" The man said. Gale heard a loud laugh in his head.

'Most dangerous weapons ever designed!? Has he seen your sword!?'

'Shut up nerd.'

'Excuse me!? I think I know a bit more about weapons than a pipsqueak!'

'Yeah yeah, master weaponsmith and yada yada yada.' Gale said not really in the mood for the whole monologue.

"That's my uncle Qrow!" She said snapping him out of his internal fight. When he looked back at the plate he saw there were no cookies. Ruby had stuffed them all.

"I haven't eaten all day but sure" Gale said disappointed. Ruby looked mortified as she apologized and waved. The camera changed to another point of view. This time it showed Gale stepping out of the portal. It showed him fighting. And then pulling a rocket launcher out of what to the untrained eye would appear as thin air.

"Mr. Gale mind explaining what this is all about?" The man asked putting him running out of the portal in repeat.

"Even if I told you you'd throw me in a loony bin."

"I can assure you. I won't do such thing." The man said. He turned and saw the girl also waiting expecting an answer.

'Tell em just leave me out of the story' Hoji said before going quiet again. He proceeded to tell them that he technically hunted demons. His grandfather taught him how. He opened a portal to escape a demon and somehow ended here.

The man looked as if this turn of events hadn't surprised him. He took a sip of coffee and nodded. "You have an interesting background Mr. Gale. And how do you carry such an arsenal?"

"That is a trade secret" he said chuckling. He looked next to him and Ruby looked at him her eyes glistening with some sort of excitement.

"Ooooh my Oum! That is so cool! Can I see your sword!? Can you tell me more stories!?" She said almost overwhelming Gale. The man motioned for Ruby to calm down a bit.

"Can you go back?" He asked.

'I told you portals are an exact science. Who knows when I'll figure this out' Hoji said in his head.

"At the moment... No... It seems I am stuck here for a while." Gale said letting out a sigh. He turned to Ruby again.

"Do you know who I am?" He asked.

"You're Professor Ozpin. Headmaster of Beacon." Ruby said. Gale looked confused. What the hell is Beacon.

"Quick question. What the hell is Beacon?" Gale asked.

"Beacon is an Academy where we train the future protectors of humanity against the grimm." Ozpin explain.

"Considering I only understood you trained people. I feel I'm not in Kansas anymore..."

"Kansas?" Ruby asked.

"You wouldn't get the reference." Gale quickly clarified.

"Would you like to attend my school Ruby?" Ozpin asked. Ruby quickly nodded

"More than anything!" She said. Ozpin slowly turned to Gale.

"I know that you have no incentive to join Beacon but if you do. I offer you protection and help in whatever I can to help you get home." Ozpin said, Gale looked at him closely. Something didn't sit quite right but right now he was pretty much screwed.

"I mean I don't have where to go why not?" Gale said nonchalantly. "When do classes start."

"That would be next week" Ozpin explained. Before he could say anything else Ruby butted in.

"Hey! Now that you don't have where to stay you can stay at my house!" Ruby said making him raise his brow.

"You sure about that?"

"Yeah totally! Dad and Yang will be okay with it after I explain it!" She said.

'Ooooh a girl is inviting you to his house.' Hoji cooed.

'Stick it where the sun don't shine' Gale countered.

"I guess. Sure... I appreciate the offer." Gale said, Ozpin smiled softly as he clasped his hands.

"Very well. I was going to offer you a room to stay in but considering miss Rose offered you a home I guess that works out too." Ozpin said.

"Then let me be the first to congratulate you on joining Beacon" he told them both. Gale followed Ruby as she guided him to her house. She lived on some island called Patch. Gale yawned as he stretched, he really needed to sleep.

They arrived at the island Ruby asking him many questions excitedly as Gale answered not really putting much thought into it. He saw what seemed to be a small wooden house.

"We're here!" She said excitedly.

'On your left champ' Hoji said. Before Gale could even react a fist connected with his face sending him flying through several trees.

"Owwww fuuuuuuck" Gale moaned as he dragged himself up. In front of him a girl with blonde hair and red eyes. She was wearing some kind of gauntlets picked him up and glared at him.

"So you're the reason why my sister hasn't answered our calls!?" She asked angrily.

"Ow... Not so loud... I feel like an eighteen-wheeler just ran me over." Gale moaned.

"Oh and you're going to feel much worse right about now" she said pulling back her fist.

"Yang! What are you doing!?" Ruby asked dashing at them?

"So you didn't answer because you were out with some guy!?" Yang asked.

"Let me explain!" Ruby said.

"Yes... Yang... Let her explain" a man who Gale could only think was her father said.

They took him in. Gale sat on the chair rubbing his cheek. It hurt like hell, right now he was too tired to give a fuck to be honest. Ruby explained the situation. Their faces went from anger to understanding.

"Gale, I apologize for punching you" Yang said. "Thanks for helping Ruby."

"I'm too tired to be angry so whatever." Gale said. "Where can I sleep?" Gale asked quickly.

"Oh in my room!" Ruby said excitedly.

"She meant the sofa" Taiyang quickly said. Gale nodded went over to the sofa and slumped on it. Falling asleep as quickly as he landed.

"Huh what did I say?" Ruby asked confused.

"Don't worry just go to sleep sis" Yang said. Ruby was about to protest but she yawned and relented. She went upstairs and went to sleep.

Yang and her father sat there watching the unconscious Gale sleep.

"Dad, what do you think of him?" Yang asked.

"Hmm, I don't know he was pretty tired today let's see how he acts tomorrow then we will make a choice.

Gale woke up face first on the ground. He groaned as he got off the ground. He rubbed his face and remembered he had ended God knows where.

'Wakey wakey sleeping beauty' Hoji said.

'What?'

'You got sat the fuck down yesterday! That's what's up.' Hoji said laughing.

'Oh that's why my face hurts?' Gale asked nonchalantly.

'You don't remember?'

'Yeah I was too tired to remember.'

'Well we have to do something to impress them quick'

'Huh? Why?'

'Blondie and her dad are planning to kick us out on the curb depending on what we do today!'

'Huh really!?'

'Yeah! They think we are a bad influence probably!'

'I mean we are' Gale conceded.

'Not the point!'

'Okay okay... Sheesh I'll make em breakfast. Just shut up and leave me be.'

'Don't fuck this up Gale!'

'Shut up!' And with that Hoji went silent. Gale pulled out his phone and put on his earbuds. He looked in the fridge.

"Huh eggs it is" Gale said as he began cooking. He put on his playlist and started cooking.

Ruby woke up to the smell of eggs. And heard something downstairs. She walked downstairs and did her best not to laugh. Gale was there cooking breakfast while singing.

"Come and get your loooove!!!" He sang while dancing. She heard more footsteps coming down the stairs. The Rose/Xiao Long family watched amused as the boy cooked.

Gale slowly turned around and jumped. "Oh shit!" He said.

"No swearing!" Ruby reprimanded.

"I cook breakfast for everyone and I get rewarded with almost a heart attack?" Gale asked. He tossed a piece of bacon to the dog that sat next to his leg.

The dog happily took it and sat on its bed.

"You and Zwei seem to be getting along." Ruby said smiling.

"Of course! I love doggos. Whoever thinks cats are better is simply wrong." Gale said putting a serving for each one of them on the table.

"Thank you for the breakfast" Taiyang said.

"Well its no problem. I debated whether I should after the attempt at my decapitation." Gale said jokingly looking at Yang.

"I said sorry" Yang protested.

"I know. My neck appreciates it" Gale countered sarcastically.

"So you sing?" Ruby asked trying to steer the conversation away.

"My deepest secret is out. Now I'm ruined!" Gale said sarcastically. "But yeah I sing, mostly because I love karaoke.

"Are you worried about your parents?" Yang asked.

"Nah they died long ago and grandfather killed himself after one of his students turned to the dark arts" he said nonchalantly as they all stared wide eyed.

"I-I'm sorry for bringing it up" Yang said.

"Eh all okay. Don't look so gloomy gees. Things happen" Gale said nonchalantly. "Anyways anyone mind telling me where the showers are? I kinda need to hit one."

Taiyang guided him to the shower. He took off his suit and hopped in. He felt the warm water in his face and smiled.

'You seem to be enjoying this' Hoji said. Gale looked to his side and saw Hoji sitting on the sink. Hoji wore some sort of ninja outfit with a white mask with a big smile and red horns on it.

'Well of course. Considering the situation I might as well make the most of it. Anyways any progress on getting us back?'

'No. I don't understand... It's almost as if something is blocking me.' Hoji said.

'Maybe you're getting old.'

'Zip it!' Hoji said. Gale finished up and dressed back up. He waved at the family and sat on a chair. Yang threw at him an envelope. He read it and saw it was for him. It seemed Ozpin gave him some money to actually buy stuff.

"Oh nice I got money now" Gale said whistling.

"Oh we can go shopping today!"

"Eh... I don't feel like it." Gale said stretching.

"Right now I want to relax a bit." He sat on the sofa Zwei jumping on his lap to pet him.

"Oh can we spar!?" Ruby asked excitedly.

"Hmm..." Gale looked at her face her puppy eyes he was about to say no but relented. "Okay fine." Gale said smiling.

'Weak.'

'No one asked you!'

"Before you go out! Why didn't you have your aura up" Yang asked?

"My what?" Gale asked confused.

"Wait you haven't unlocked your aura?" Yang asked.

"Dunno what that is."

"Wait you survived a punch from Yang without aura?" Ruby asked surprise.

"Wait she was aiming to kill!?" He asked horrified.

"No! Well I thought you had aura." She said a bit embarrassed.

"Oh my God you tried to kill me!" He shrieked.

"Calm down everyone" Taiyang said trying to defuse the situation.

"Your daughter tried to punt my head across the continent!" He said.

"I'm sorry okay!?" Yang said.

"Oh no. We sparring now!" Gale said.

"Is that so?" Taiyang said making his blood go cold.

"Friendly sparring. I mean I might be angry but you guys gave me somewhere to stay. Besides I want to see how good people here are fighting." He said.

"What about me?" Ruby whined.

"Okay how about this. First I spar with Yang then with you okay?" Gale said grabbing his katana.

"I'm game" Yang said grabbing her gauntlets.

"I'll be the referee" Taiyang relented. "Are you fighting without aura?"

"I mean unless you can share aura I guess." Gale said nonchalantly.

"Wait I can help you!" Ruby said grabbing his hand. Gale felt eyes glaring at him from two sides as he wished for the sweet release of death. Then he felt it. Something was off he wobbled a bit when he felt this new feeling.

"Wow... What... What was that?" He asked confused.

"How do you feel?"

"Like my head is in the clouds" Gale said.

'That was certainly something.' Hoji pipped. 'Whatever they released... It felt nice I guess.'

'Yeah.'

"That would be your aura" Taiyang explained.

"So I have it now?" Gale asked.

"Yes, well let's go outside."

They went outside Yang and Gale stood on opposite sides. Taiyang as the referee and Ruby cheering on for her sister.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence Ruby!" Gale said sarcastically.

"Sorry! Family comes first" she said.

"Okay this fight will go on until one of you surrenders or your aura hits red. Understood?" Taiyang said.

"Yes" Gale said.

"Yeah" Yang said bringing her fists together.

"Hey Yang yesterday's hit was free! Don't expect the same treatment." Gale said smirking.

"Oh you're on now!" Yang said.

"Begin!" As soon as that was said Gale dashed forward with surprising speed. Yang launched herself using her gauntlets. They clashed as a smoke rose up. Gale blocked the hit dead in it's tracks. He tried a low kick as Yang jumped in the air to blast him.

Gale pushed himself out of the way. His blade glowed gold as he slashed at her. Yang did her best to keep up but the strikes were fast and unrelenting actually hitting her a few times. Yang punched again this time hitting him square in the jaw sending him backward.

"Was that one free too?" She asked smirking.

"Ow! Why are you punching harder all the sudden!?" He asked before dashing at her hitting her with the hilt of his sword and throwing her over his shoulder. She tried hitting him but he had gotten faster blocking each hit.

"How are you so fast?" She asked.

"It's survival instinct I don't want my jaw displaced" he said before throwing her over his shoulder again. The battle continued with Gale whittling down at Yang.

"Stop moving!" Yang said frustrated.

"No! I realized you punch harder the more damage I do. I'm not risking decapitation!" Gale said. Gale breathed deeply as he slowed down. Yang got through only for him to disappear. It almost looked as if he teleported behind her. His blade glowed blue as he stabbed and set her flying. Through a tree.

"Match! The winner is Gale." Taiyang said. Gale went over and helped Yang up.

"You're good" she said.

"Knife to meet you Yang" he said grinning.

"Oh no there's two!" Ruby shriek as Taiyang groaned.

"A fellow jokester?" Yang said.

"You know... I think you and I will get along just fine." Gale said grinning much to the dismay of Ruby and Taiyang.

And cut! A story I had in the backburner I finally feel like it might be time to publish it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it. as for pairings I really don't know which one I'll do so how about this? I'll put it up for a vote. Here are the options okay?
