So with everything going on right now, I've recently had a lot of time on my hands which I've been using to binge-watch/re-watch Merlin, and this idea just randomly came to me so I had to write it down. This is my first oneshot and the first thing I'm posting on this site so I hope you like it! (I have no clue if there's anyone still into Merlin on here since it came out years ago but nonetheless I hope if anyone does come across this they enjoy it!)

Arthur had a problem. Now, this problem wasn't one he could fix with a sword, or ask for council on. No, this problem was something he had to deal with personally. His problem was Merlin.

Now, Merlin had not done anything wrong. He was completing all of the tasks that he was given, he always gave Arthur good advice, and he was extremely loyal. In fact, Arthur almost wished that his manservant had done something wrong if only to give himself an excuse as to why he was avoiding Merlin.

The fact of the matter was, Arthur couldn't stand to be around the raven-haired boy for long at all. His mere presence would make Arthur's stomach feel as if it was doing flips. His voice would always capture the Prince's attention, and would make Arthur think he had heard the voice of an angel. His slender hands would make Arthur want to entwine his servant's fingers with his own. His deep blue eyes that Arthur felt as if he could drown in. His large ears that Arthur wanted to murmur sweet nothings into for hours. His stupid neckerchiefs that covered up the neck that Arthur wanted to mark as his own. His slender yet lean frame that Arthur wanted to pull close and to hold for the rest of time. And his smile. Oh that damned smile that Always made Arthur weak at the knees and made him want to kiss his servant senseless until they were both gasping for air.

Arthur was so caught up in his thoughts and pacing around his chambers that he didn't immediately notice the source of his dilemma was standing right in front of him.

"Are you alright Arthur? Is there anything you need?" Merlin said, bluebell eyes opened wide with concern for his Prince.

Arthur barely heard him. He was too caught up in just how close Merlin was, and how easy it would be for him to simply close the gap between them. So without much of a second thought, that's what he did. He grabbed Merlin by the neckerchief, hearing him let out a small gasp, and pulled him closer until their lips met.

It only took a moment for Arthur's mind to catch up with his head, but when it did he quickly took a couple steps back. He let out a small cough, trying to regain his composure, while looking off to the side, not wanting to meet his manservant's eyes. In doing this however he missed getting to see the lovely shade of crimson painted over Merlin's cheeks.

"That will be all." Arthur said, trying very hard to keep his voice stable.

There was only one thought running through his mind as the other boy left the room.

'I must be going insane.'
