It was a sunny day and blue skies in the land of Kumandra and both Raya, a young human female and her friend Sisu, a young, female water dragon were already headed back to Heart after a trip they made was coming to an end. They were walking towards a nearby town. Tuk Tuk was along with them for the journey.
"I can't believe you got Namaari to laugh so hard. She usually never laughed so hard." chuckled Raya.
"Those who hardly laugh or smile are just screaming for someone to give them a good laugh. That, and burps and farts nearly make anyone laugh." chuckled Sisu.
"You said it wasn't you who let one rip." replied Raya.
"I never said I wouldn't blab about who farted." giggled Sisu. "Spoiler alert, it was me, and I didn't say a word so that's why no one knew who did it."
As Sisu laughed, that's when Raya burst out laughing as the urge to laugh was too much and she was laughing along with the beautiful dragon. After they let their laughter die down. They heard a twig snap and stopped.
"Sisu, did you step on a twig or tree branch or probably a tree?" asked Raya placing her hand on the hilt of her blade.
"That wasn't me." answered Sisu. "Maybe it's just some nearby animal?"
Tuk Tuk made a small grunt and stayed near them in case of an attack. They looked around and saw no one and saw nothing that made the sound. They waited for who or what it was that made the noise to show itself. They heard bushes rustling nearby and when they saw bushes moving, they waited for what was coming till they saw a monkey jump out of the bushes and crawl back up into the trees.
They let out a sigh of relief as the monkey disappeared into the trees. The monkey was making running off with a few bananas as it appeared the creature was just foraging for food like any other wild animal. They felt like they were worried for nothing.
"For a second I was thinking we had something to be afraid of." said Raya.
Their state of comfort was short lived as they heard what sounded like a tree branch snapping off from a tree and loud screaming that sounded like a man, followed by grunts of pain as the person sounded like he was landing on huge leaves until they saw a body fall from the tree and the body was hanging upside down from the tree by a very strong vine that was wrapped around the left ankle. The three stood their in surprise and something that looked like object fell on the ground that were the belongings of the person.
"Ouch! I hate to be him right now." said Sisu giving a pained expression.
The objects that were on the ground was a katana sword that was still in it's scabbard, an odd looking bag, a large machete that was also still in it's scabbard, and they looked up to see that the body looked like a male. The male was appearing to be a slender bodied male with long, shoulder length, blonde hair that was so thick, full and voluminous, looking to be Caucasian from the skin tone, he appeared to be at least tall as Raya if not shorter as he was probably tall enough to reach Raya's chin, it looked like he was wearing a Sapphire colored kimono and black boots.
"How do we get him down?" asked asked Sisu curiously.
"We can pull him down as a counterweight." Raya suggested.
Raya walked towards the young man and grabbed hold of him by the waist with one hand and grabbed one of the vines with the other. She pulled him gently down but the vine that was wrapped around his left ankle appeared to be stronger than it looked and she couldn't free him, she tried pulling harder but the vine was too strong and she could barely pull him down several inches down.
"Okay, this isn't working. Going to have to cut him down." Raya said.
"Or I could do this." Sisu chimed in.
Raya looked up and saw that Sisu came towards the young man and she used her claws to slash the vine in two, cutting the vine and the young male human fell but the young female dragon caught him in her arms before he could hit the ground. Sisu smiled as she knew what she did was not only looking like she did that without thinking but it was an idea that worked.
"I was going to use my sword but that works too." Raya told her.
"I know you thought that was awesome." said Sisu looking pleased with herself.
"Human's don't have claws but at least your claws worked." Raya said hesitantly agreeing with her.
They turned their attention to the young man and they saw his face which his face shown he looked young, he appeared to be in his late teen years, be it seventeen or eighteen years of age and his face was just as thin or slender like his body. With his hair finally down when he was right side up, he looked like he had hair that was looking like a lion's mane on him. Sisu felt her heart racing as she looked right at the young boy.
"Awwww, he looks cute for a human. Can we keep him?" asked Sisu eagerly.
"He's a human being, not a pet." Raya said shaking her head.
Tuk Tuk let out a bellow of curiosity as he got a good view of the young male human. The young male was slowly opening up his eyes and his vision was clearing as he shown to have beautiful blue eyes and he was standing on his own two feet which he was coming out of his dizziness.
"I'm ready for my appointment now, doctor." said the male dizzily.
The male had a bit of a deep voice with a slight southern accent. He started to come out of his dizzy state and his vision was clear as day, He looked towards Raya at first as his hair was parted down the middle.
"Was I knocked out? How long was I out?" he asked curiously.
"You were more dizzy than knocked out." said Raya. "I'm Raya, and are you feeling alright? You fell out of the tree."
"I'm Raito, and please don't tell me I landed on a beautiful woman like you. A gentlemen doesn't strike a lady." said Raito being polite.
Raya blushed a bit and brushed off the feeling she was experiencing. She focused on Raito's condition as she was hoping he wasn't hurt.
"Is anything broken?" Raya asked kindly.
Raito moved his fingers, hands and arms. Than he moved his head and neck around a bit leaned back and than leaned forwards, and from left and right. He felt no pain. He moved his feet and toes, nothing, he moved his legs but he felt a sharp pain in his left leg, letting out a grunt of pain, causing him to place hands on his left leg.
"Mother of the good lord, that stings!" Raito groaned in pain.
"Left leg. I'm going to have to take a look at that." said Raya.
Fear struck Raito at the mentioning of someone having to take a look at a possible wound he had. He turned his back to Raya and shook his head.
"No!" said Raito shakily.
They saw he was shaking in fear as if he was afraid of doctors. Sisu attempted to console Raito of his fears as she placed her hands on his shoulders, this had him slowly raising his body up and he stood straight up, looking straight up at Sisu who looked back at him. Their eyes met but something in Raito started to feel as though something about Sisu made his heart race faster and his mind was filling up with ideas on what he should say to her. Sisu placed one of her hands on his right cheek and the other hand on his chest, it was as if she was trying to show a sign of trust.
"You can trust me and Raya. We wouldn't hurt any innocent person." reassured Sisu. "I promise it won't sting."
Sisu was about to learn her head closer to his face but when she was about to do so, he looked away and looked at the ground. He went silent but he nodded twice as if giving them permission to take a look at his wound.
"Yare." he finally spoke.
He relented and as Sisu released her hands and arms from him was when they saw him lift up the part of his kimono and the pants leg length of his clothing for them to see and what they saw was one red line that was going from the back of his left leg and a bit to the left side of the leg and ended close to the ankle. There was very little blood which was a good sign since he wasn't bleeding enough to be life threatening.
"How bad is it? Am I bleeding? Am I going to lose my leg or something?" said Raito panicking.
"It's alright, nothing a good bandaging couldn't cure." said Raya.
Raito let out a sigh of relief while Raya placed her bag on the ground and as she opened it, she pulled out a roll of bandages, a slip on leg brace, some gauze and what looked like bottle of disinfectant. Sisu reached out to take hold of Raito's left hand as if to show support.
"Maybe we should warn you that there might be a slight sting but not painful." Sisu admitted.
"Oh momma." groaned Raito.
"Just hold still and squeeze my hand a bit if it hurts." Sisu suggested.
Raya poured some disinfectant on some of the gauze and she lighted patted the gauze on his scratch wound and he knew that Sisu was right, it did hurt a little but it wasn't hurting as bad. It felt like a slightly painful tingle like that of a sprain to someone's leg. He let out a few groans of pain and lightly squeezed Sisu's hand.
"Yow, I really wish I could swear right now but I can't do it! Yow!" gasped Raito.
"It's alright." Raya reassured.
Raya pulled out the roll of bandages and she wrapped it around the entire area where the leg wound was and used the machete nearby to cut part of it off and got the bandages to stay on that part of his leg. She took the slip on leg brace and slipped it on his leg as his foot went through the opening and she managed to get it on him. It felt like it perfectly fit on his leg where the bandages were wrapped up in. She placed everything she pulled out of her bag back inside her bag. The pants leg length part of his pants was safely pulled down to cover his leg up and the part of his kimono was placed back down. She got back on her feet.
"It's alright. It's over and looks like you'll be fine." said Raya reassuring him again.
He opened his eyes and moved his leg a bit and felt like he could still move his leg and stand as he was feeling better knowing that it didn't hurt as much as he thought it would. He looked right at Raya and immediately wrapped his arms around her to hug her, she was somehow expecting this and hugged him back.
"ArigatÅ!" said Raito shakily.
"Anytime." replied Raya.
Sisu smiled and reached out to tickle Raito's sides briefly, causing him to laugh and squirm a bit. As soon as he turned to see the huge female dragon, she had her face pressed closely to his with her eyes at close range of his eyes.
"Hiya cutie." chuckled Sisu.
"Is she a real, talking dragon?" asked Raito feeling slight fear.
"You know it, little man." answered Sisu. "I'm Sisu, you need a lift?"
He shook in the body a bit but turned around and looked away from the dragon as if too shy to look her in the eyes. This had Sisu and Raya confused at first but probably suspected he hasn't met a dragon before.
"Raito, where are you from? You look foreign." asked Raya.
"I'm not really from around here. Where I'm from, we don't have dragons in our land, probably because things are different from where I live. So I'm a gaijin, well, I'm kind of a stateless gaijin." Raito confessed.
When they heard him say he was stateless, that's what got them both concerned or worried for him.
"By stateless, you mean?" asked Sisu.
He let out a sigh and knew he couldn't lie to them.
"Lets just say that where I'm from, our land joined another nation and I became stateless or a refugee if you will." said Raito appearing vague.
They uttered a surprising "Oh" as they understood what he meant by the fact he was a stateless person or a refugee.
"Do you need a lift somewhere?" asked Sisu curiously.
He let out a loud hiccup at the question.
"Would you ladies object if I was to come with you till I get to where I want to be?" asked Raito hopefully.
A smile formed on Sisu's face while Raya knew they couldn't just leave him out there since being a princess herself meant she had to help him but also she wanted to help him.
"I wouldn't object to that." said Raya kindly.
Raito looked up and felt a huge relief wash over him while Sisu felt like she was wanting him to go with them as if she was starting to like him. She wrapped her arms around him in a hug as she hugged him from behind, causing him to blush deeply from being hugged by such a beautiful female dragon. His heart raced faster as if shy around a woman. Sisu laughed in excitement.
"Yes! He's coming with us!" Sisu exclaimed in excitement.
Sisu felt happy that Raito was going with them and she planted a kiss to his cheek, causing him to blush so deeply that he let out his biggest and loudest hiccup ever.
"Lead the way, Madame Raya." said Raito nervously.
He got out of Sisu's grip, he grabbed his bag, his sword and his machete as he placed the strap of his machete around his shoulder and his sword was connected back to a strap on his back and placed his bag back to his back and walked into the direction they were facing while they walked in the same direction he was walking in. Raya, Sisu and Tuk Tuk were with him as they were heading towards a fishing community that lived near the water, not at the tip of the land that leads to the water but they were near the water. Along the way there, Sisu would at times flirt with Raito by ether hugging him at times, playfully ruffling his hair or giving him flirtatious expression with her eyes and eyebrows which he would look away and blush everytime she did that.
"Oh look, a tree full of food." Raito pointed out.
He ran towards a few tall trees that had a bunch of apples on them, he tried to find a way to climb up the tree but he couldn't find a way to climb up it and he didn't want to reopen his leg wound. They saw he was trying to get to the apples in the trees and plenty of bananas up there too. Sisu could immediately tell what he was wanting or trying to do.
"Keep your bag open." called Sisu.
She would fly up into the air while she went towards the trees that had the apples and bananas while Raito opened his bag and Sisu used her claws to cut the apples and bananas from the trees and plenty of apples and bananas fell from the trees which Raito used his opened bag to catch plenty of the apples and bananas that fell from the trees. As they landed inside his bag, it filled up his bag with enough of food. Sisu flew back to the ground and was walking on the ground with them as she smiled at both Raya and giving Raito with a flirtatious expression towards Raito which he was seen blushing by her while he looked away, closed his bag and they walked towards the fishing community.
"Sisu likes Raito." Raya teased silently.
"Oh stop it." chuckled Sisu.
They entered the fishing community and there was a lot of people there and it wasn't a town, it was more of a shopping area that wasn't too far away from the actual town they live in. While they were there, Raito was starting to look like he was showing signs of being a gentlemen.
Raito would help out anyone who was elderly when it looked like they needed a hand, he shown he was really strong and can handle heavy lifting. Than he would instruct any of the young kids to be careful when they were doing what ever it was they were doing but he managed to be polite and got the kids to understand him without making them feel confused or upset. He shown he seem to have a gift with people, he would help the elderly when they needed it, knew how to help the kids understand what he told them and made sure they were careful with anything they did and the kids understood he was giving them advice to help them and they shown they understood he was looking out for them. He returned to the three when they were almost at the water.
"Raito, what were you doing?" asked Raya curiously.
"I was taught to help those who needed it. If the elderly need assistance, than I'll give them a hand. If children need advice, guidance or supervision by a responsible adult in case they might get into some hot water, than I'll assist them to help them. Children often are the first to suffer when they're not given the right advice, guidance, supervision or assistance when it comes to many aspects to life. They need someone to give them the proper advice, guidance, supervision or assistance so they can grow up and have a bright future. That, and I was taught to respect a woman and one of the main ways to do that is like what someone once told me. A gentleman doesn't struck a lady." Raito explained.
They were a bit surprised to hear that he was taught all of them ways and how ingrained in him it was and that he was quite a strong young man and a gentlemen towards women, showing respect towards the elderly and how he appears to be a kind young man. Raya appeared to be impressed by this but was also wondering who taught all these aspects to life. Sisu seemed goo-goo eyed about how he is. Even her heart was racing faster for him. They managed to make it to the dock that had a boat that they would be ready to take a trip on to make it back to the Heart of Kumandra. They approached the helmsman who was a heavyset man with a thick and wholly looking beard and medium length hair who appeared to be middle-aged.
"Helmsman!" called Raya.
The heavyset man turned to them and he greeted them with what looked like his hands forming a circle as if it was a greeting. Raito didn't seem to understand what that meant.
"Need me to take you to the Heart of Kumandra?" asked the helmsman.
"Yes, the four of us." Raya answered.
"I'll take you there but it's going to take us till nightfall to get there once we set sail." the helmsman told them.
"Not to worry. It's okay with us." Raya told them.
"Okay, all aboard." said the helmsman.
They got onto the boat which was big enough for all of them to fit on while they were getting comfortable in the seats they sat in and the helmsman got the boat to sail off and he was steering the boat towards their destination.
"I should let you all know that if we get stuck along the way or if we have encounter any trouble that causes the boat unable to go forwards for a bit. I'll have to weigh the anchor." called the helmsman.
"No problem, sailor!" replied Sisu.
As time would pass while the sailed towards the Heart. Raito was curious about a few things.
"Raya, what does this mean?" asked Raito curiously.
He formed his hands into the same formation that the helmsman shown them. They realized that even though he was a foreigner, he wasn't aware of some of the customs of Kumandra.
"It's how we greet each other but it's also a sign of respect to the dragons and respect towards those we meet." answered Raya.
Raito understood but they also understood there was a lot about Kumandra or their customs he didn't know about. They explained to him about Kumandra, the dragons, their magic, the war the land had been through, the orb that was used to keep the Druun and what the Druun does and what the Druun is while the explained what went on when Raya found Sisu and what they all went through in order to put an end to the war and to defeat the Druun forever as they explained to him it had been over a year since the events and that the dragons are back.
Raito found the story to be interesting and entertaining as if he was learning from them. They explained and shown him some of their customs in the land of Kumandra, everything from the food they eat, their customs, culture, way of life, what parts of the land of Kumandra is like from one location to another. He felt like he was learning quite a lot. Sisu would at times try to make Raito laugh but when she attempted to do so, he would quickly pull out a sensu fan that was stored in the sleeve of his kimono and used the fan to hide his blushing face. Sisu was starting to be under the impression that he was afraid of her or that he's taking time to get used to dragons since he did tell them they didn't have dragons where he was from.
As it was starting to get close to nightfall. The boat suddenly stopped and the helmsman was coming out from where he would steer the boat to tell them what just happened as the boat stopped.
"Okay, I've got some news. One, there's a big obstacle not too far from where the boat is, a huge rock, but the good news is I weighed the anchor in time to stop us from moving any further and to prevent ourselves from crashing into it. The bad news is we'll have to steer around it by morning because we normally don't sail during nightfall for two reasons. One, if I get tired and fall asleep, we could crash, and two, when it's dark, it gets so pitch black out there at times that we can't see what's in front of us. So we're going to have to wait till morning to tackle the problem." the helmsman explained sadly. "I apologize."
They all knew this was not only a disappointing thing to go through but they knew the helmsman was right. They had no other choice but to wait and tackle the problem till morning. There was a stoic expression on Raito's face.
"You all might want to cover ears for a minute." said Raito.
They all looked right at him and were curious but not sure what he meant by covering their ears. Was he about to hear a loud sound or anything of the sort? They had no idea.
"Raito, why do we need to cover our ears?" asked Raya.
"I got to let out an emotion to help vent out what I'm feeling right now and it requires me to let out one good scream and I've taken up opera singing before which I'm a tenor and opera singers are known for singing loud enough to the point where sometimes glass breaks but only if you're a soprano but the tenor is just as loud." Raito explained.
He popped his neck and they saw he wasn't kidding and they immediately covered their ears. Raito let out a sigh and when they saw he was about to let out a pent up emotion he was feeling. They saw that he screamed loudly to the point that they could hear it a bit but it as muffled, meaning he was telling the truth about opera singers having powerful singing voices. Than they saw his mouth moving rapidly as it looked like he was probably ranting in anger or possibly swearing. After about a minute or more, he stopped and let out a breath.
"We're good." he told them.
They removed their hands from their ears and saw that Raito uttered a prayer as if praying for forgiveness. Than moved his left hand up, moving it down and moved it left and right.
"You okay?" asked the helmsman.
"If I feel anger or frustration when someone is near me, especially if the person is a beautiful woman. Than I advise them to cover their ears as I would briefly rant verbally to let out the emotion without holding it in and letting it boil over. Especially if there's a possibility that I use a word that not even our grandparents are allowed to use." Raito explained. "A monk suggested it to me and so far, it works, that, or do some jabbing sessions with a punching bag."
"That's a really smart idea to let it out." said Raya in agreement.
Their moment of impressed admiration was interrupted when a loud gurgling sound was heard and it was coming from Raito as he tensed up a bit in the body.
"Is there a bathroom on this boat?" asked Raito with a pant.
"It's in the back near the room that I steer the boat in." answered the helmsman.
Raito took off towards the bathroom faster than Tuk Tuk could roll as fast as possible when curled up like a ball and they were surprised he could run so fast. After he got done using the bathroom. Hours went by and it was nightfall. Everyone had went to sleep but Raito walked passed Sisu quietly as he was standing near the edge of the boat. He was looking at the water, than up at the night sky. The sky was dark but there was so many stars, no clouds but the moon looked full and huge.
There was something going through Raito's mind. He was remembering something that appeared to be a memory. He was imaging a gold circle in the water and there was an image within that said circle of what looked like a ten year old version of himself back in the land he lived in.
The image shown him working on a farm with a woman who appeared to be his mother. They were shown to be working on the farm with plenty of farm hands. Than the image changed and went to an image of him and his mother but he was older as it shown that they were running from enemy soldiers while soldiers from their own land fought them. His heart started to fill heavy with sadness.
The image changed to show that the land him and his mother lived in were that him, his mother and everyone who lived in the land were at a live event that shown that they announced who was their next world leader from the looks of it. The leader they shown was a full grown man, many people cheered while others shown a look of disapproval as if they didn't like this new leader.
The image faded away and turned to show that there was a huge fire, many people were violently protesting, rioting and people were dying left and right. Raito was starting to breathe in and out as if panicking. But than the image changed and it was the last image he imagined as it shown he was probably two years younger than he is today, he was headed somewhere on a big boat that he stowed away on. He looked back at the land he once lived in and saw there was a lot of smoke coming from there as he knew that the violent acts were over but it looked like he was the only survivor of the chaos. The images he saw or imagined he saw in the water faded away as he started to shed a tear or more as he tried to grieve silently.
"Damn that leader of ours! He was corrupt and guilty as hell and that's why our land is no more, he's the reason why the war broke out and everyone died along with him. Damn that leader of ours, damn him to hell!" Raito said in a shaky voice.
"Raito?" came a husky and slightly raspy female's voice.
Raito didn't expect that someone would call out to him but he recognized the husky and raspy female's voice was Sisu. He didn't look at her as if ashamed to show pain, discomfort or despondent in her presence or in her line of vision.
"Raito, what's bothering you?" asked Sisu.
"Don't look at me. I don't want anyone seeing me like this." answered Raito trying in vain to calm himself.
Sisu got closer to him as she placed her hands on his shoulders from behind and placed her head on the top of his head in an attempt to console him. This barely had any effect.
"Raito, something is bothering you and you need to let it out or at the very least talk about it." Sisu kindly suggested.
"You wouldn't understand." Raito sighed.
Sisu knew that he was hurting inside about something as she placed one hand on his stomach and the other hand on his chest where his heart was located. She could feel his heart rate pulsing faster as he blushed so deep red that if his body got warmer, it would dry the tears that stained his face.
"You need to help me understand. Rai once told me that it's like her father has said: In order to get someone to trust you and for you to trust them in terms of uniting everyone to restore peace between anyone. Someone has to take the first step. You can trust me and I won't judge you for anything." Sisu told him.
Hearing her tell him this and seeing how kind Sisu has been towards him along with Raya seemed to have given him a reason to trust them, especially if one of them was Sisu. He felt a strange warmth in his body when Sisu has been embracing him in her arms. He finally relented.
"I know I'm foreign and I come from a foreign land but what happened where I'm from...I can't go back." said Raito finally.
"Why can't you go back?" asked Sisu curiously.
He let out a sigh and knew this wouldn't be easy.
"When my home land was voting for a new leader. We had a brief and small war break out but it was quickly stopped when we were finding out who we'd have as our next new leader. The votes were in and we found out who won. The man who won the election was evil, corrupt and crooked. Some people cheered for his victory while some of us didn't. I was one of the people that knew he was a crooked and corrupt politician who only cared about votes, money and power and all ways to abuse it." Raito explained. "But one day, a war broke out on those who were faithful to him and those who were not. The person who was running against him had died some time after he won the election but I found out this corrupt man found some way to win the election by cheating or rigging something or by doing something so evil that if anyone found out, he'd be forcibly stripped of his title and the position would go to his competitor. Me and those who didn't like him found out how he resorted to win the election, found out he was the one who killed his competitor and made his passing look like a suicide which this was no suicide, he was murdered."
Sisu listened but was surprised that something so horrible could happen. She knew that there were good and bad people out there but didn't know that some people would be so evil that they'd be too far gone.
"Once we knew truth, we confronted both our leader and his followers and his supporters. Just when the truth was about to get out. Someone killed our leader and he died instantly. Than a war broke out, people were dying, rioting, burning places down, people were killing others. Me and my mom tried to escape as we knew that we couldn't stay there. As a result of that, it didn't take long for the entire population of our home land to drop like insects." Raito continued.
Sisu listened and she felt her heart sink. A young boy like Raito going through such a nightmarish situation all because of a corrupt leader and his evil actions.
"Were there any survivors?" asked Sisu curiously.
"You're hugging the only survivor of such a massacre." said Raito sadly.
Sisu knew that he was lucky to survive but it was horrible that he went through such a nightmarish event that went from a corrupt human resorting to illegal actions to become a newly elected leader to get he wants to their new leader causing the foreign land's inhabitants to confront the corrupt individuals that lead to an all out war the second someone murdered their evil leader before the truth could come to light and the war lead to two sides of the conflict fighting each other to the death. Leaving all but one of the inhabitants dead. This means that Raito is homeless, has nowhere to go and he's alone with nothing. She knew that she had to do something to help him.
"Raito, did you have any siblings?" asked Sisu.
"No, it was just me and my mom. I had a father but he was an abusive alcoholic and my mom did the only thing she could do in order to make sure he didn't cause her anymore harm." Raito confessed. "She kicked him out of our home and our lives which she was two months pregnant with me at the time which was probably a good idea since he was causing trouble anyway."
Sisu knew what she had to do in order to help Raito feel better or at least heal him of his emotional scars. She turned him around to face her but when he tried to look up at her in the face or eyes, he blushed and looked away with his eyes closed. Sisu knew there had to be a reason why Raito was so shy and afraid of her or when she's around him.
"Raito, I'm sorry you lost everything because of what this one man did but not all leaders are bad people. When me and Raya first met. I was thinking I was literally the last dragon of my kind but when we restored peace to Kumandra and everyone reconciled and reunited peacefully after we defeated the Druun. "So you can shapeshift?" said Raito caught off guard.

Raito was almost speechless when he found out that Sisu had magical powers as Sisu is the first dragon he met or spotted or glimpsed for that matter. Later that morning

Sisu pulled Raito up on his feet and that's when the helmsman came out as he looked like he had a grim expression on his face.
"I got some bad news. I tried to pull the anchor up but something has it jammed or stuck. I'm a really strong man but I tried pulling it out but it wouldn't budge. So something has it stuck under the water." said the helmsman sadly.
They all walked towards the edge of the boat and knew that there was only one way to get the anchor unstuck from where it was. Someone has to go into the water and swim around to find out what has the anchor stuck.
"Unfortunately, I can't hold my breath long enough to get the anchor out." said the helmsman sadly.

"I'll pull up the anchor." said the helmsman as he walked off.
It wasn't long till they walked back on the center of the boat while the helmsman got the anchor all the way back in by a lever that he used to wind up in circles till it was all the way back to where it should be. She explained that Raito's father turned out to be an abusive alcoholic which his mother kicked out of her own home when she was pregnant with Raito in order to raise Raito by a responsible and loving mother and so that Raito's father wouldn't cause him or her any harm.
She continued to tell her more as Sisu told Raya that the new leader resorted to illegal actions to cheat his way to win the election. Raito and others found out, confronted the evil leader's supporters and the new leader was killed before the truth could get out and the supporters of the evil leader took that as an assassination, a war broke out and turned into a massacre of the entire population and the only survivor was Raito himself.
She went on to tell Raya that he's alone and has no one nor does he have anywhere to go. This was quite the story for Raya to hear which she knew that when she thought she lost her dad, he was revived along with anyone that the Druun had turned to stone with the Druun defeated for good. She knew her case was no way she could sympathize with Raito since the young man's case was completely different. She grew up with a father but Raito didn't have father. She knew they had something else in common about being raised by a single parent.
"So for the past two years, he's been traveling from one place to another like a nomad with nothing but the clothes on his back?" said Raya.

They walked on the dock and reached the path that was to lead them to where they would be heading towards.

"From what you two told me, I figured there was more dragons here in Kumandra, hope I said that name right, but I didn't know Sisu had siblings." said Raito appearing surprised to know this. "I was an only child."
"I too was an only child and I turned out alright." Raya chimed in.
"That's something we have in common." said Raito impressed.
"There is one little thing I'm curious about." said Raya. "The home land you're from. Did everyone there have an accent? We have accents too but I just didn't know there was another world outside of Kumandra."
Raito smiled as he somewhat expected someone to ask him this since he did have a southerner's accent.
"Not all of us have an accent but some of us do. Than again, I grew up in a farming community. For years, we would plant and grow our own food, sell plenty of fruits and veggies in the farmer's market, we even had orchards for same thing but it would have other types of food planted, grown, sold and we would live off a lot of it." Raito explained and revealed to them.
"That's interesting." said Raya and Sisu in unison.
"But how did you learn to sing opera?" asked Raya curiously.
"Had a teacher, we had our own ways of educating ourselves like everyone else." Raito revealed.
Raito sucked in a lot of air and let out a loud but beautifully sung operatic singing note with his voice as he was able to hold the note for a good ten seconds before he stopped. This left both Raya, Sisu and even Tuk Tuk surprised but both impressed yet shocked with amazement.
"Whoa!" said the girls in unison. "That's incredible."
"Just like birds, music brings beauty into the world. Now that I've met a dragon and seen how beautiful she looks, same is said about dragons bringing beauty into this world. Yet I still have a lot to learn about dragons, the customs of this new land and this new land itself." said Raito admitting some humility.
Sisu smiled and kissed Raito on his cheeks. This got him to smile again but without being shy about it. They made it through the lush rainforest with with Raya and Sisu's direction as Raito didn't know where they would go but followed them since he immediately knew they know the path. It took them about an hour or less to reach the temple that is above Heart but once they made it there was when Sisu grabbed hold of Raito and flew him up to the area. Raito was a little afraid at first but he quickly started to like the view. Once they landed and both Raya and Tuk Tuk made it to the same location they were in.
"How was the flight?" joked Raya.
"The view from above was incredible. But Raya, I never seen such a beautiful community within a temple. We didn't have temples where I lived." said Raito taking in the sights.
"You're going to be seeing a lot of things you might not have seen before or have some new experiences around here and within the land of Kumandra where ever you will be in. But I can teach you the customs of our home land while you might learn a few from others. But if you're with me anywhere we go, you stick close to me and do what I tell you, I actually learned from watching what my dad and others do." said Raya instructing him.
"I understand. And that's two things we have common. I learned the same way with everything else. Learning from what I see others do." said Raito as he shown obedience.
Raya wrapped an arm around him in a one armed hug which Raito was surprised by this but he was comfortable with being hugged by them.
"I know someone we'll have to see since we just got back." said Raya. "Follow me."
They walked around the community while Raito's appearance did get a few people staring at him as they too never met a foreigner that wasn't from Kumandra while some of the women there would wave and grin in a flirtatious expression, leaving him to blush and look away while Sisu reassured him that they're the only one for each other in terms of boyfriend and girl friend. They did take in the sights for a bit since Raito hasn't been there before which turned out to be an incredible experience for him.
They made it towards a bridge and as they crossed the bridge, that's when they saw a man stop by them that was ten feet away from them. He was a tall man with his dark hair in a high bun. He saw them from the same distance. There was a silence and Raya came over to him to greet him in a hug. It was Chief Benja, her father.
"Welcome back home, Dewdrop." said Chief Benja with a grin.
They hugged for a bit and released their arms from each other. Raya knew that he had to be told about Raito.
"Ba, there's something that you need to know and it's going to sound a bit surprising." said Raya.
Raya began to tell him everything that she found about Raito from what Sisu told her and as her dad listened, he knew that everything she told him was not only surprising to him like she informed but it also meant that they'd be adding a new member to the family from everything that Raya informed him about.
"Where is he?" asked Chief Benja.
Raya shown him where Raito was and he saw him from the same distance which Raito was seen standing next to Sisu. The dragon was placing her head on top of his head as if to show some emotional consolation ot reassurance. A feeling in Chief Benja's heart was growing and he knew that raising a daughter the way he has been had his own child turn into a wonderful daughter yet he does understand he's never had to raise a son before which he accepted many challenges in his life. After hearing what Raya told him about what Raito's been through in his life. He knew that Raito needs a home and good people in his life. A smile formed on his face.
"Dewdrop, I know I've raised you to be a responsible, loving, and compassionate young woman who knows that taking the first step in making a change for the better is where the healing process starts. To be honest, I half expected you to find the right man once you've at least reached your early twenties. It's how I met your mother. Your mother and I knew when we were expecting you once your mother was pregnant with you, we have expressed that we would love our child no matter if the baby turned out to be a boy or girl. No matter the challenges we faced, we've come out on top because we never gave up." Chief Benja expressed. "But going through puberty is probably one of the toughest challenges since you and I know that no one wants to go through puberty."
"Puberty has always been the worst stage of anyone's life." said Raya in agreement.
"No matter how tough the challenge, we've always came out on top because we never gave up. Which of course, if Raito has been a nomad for two years, than some nomads may need to have a home to live in, one that is safe and has people that can show them the way to living a good life, even if it means adopting another child. And you are a very compassionate young woman to want to help this young boy. And I know that we are the type of family he needs. He may need time to learn how everything works in this land and how our customs go, but with every person, we learn to crawl before we learn to walk, run, and fly." said Chief Benja.
Raya knew this was good news since he was being subtle with his answer but knew that her dad was accepting the new addition to their family by wanting to adopt Raito. She looked towards Sisu and Raito as she whistled for them to come over. Both Sisu, Raito and Tuk Tuk walked over to them, Tuk Tuk rolled his way over but as they were close to Chief Benja. Raito managed to raise his hands up and make the hand sign greeting that he had be shown while he bowed his head. He placed his hands down afterwards and faced him.
"Raito, I know I'm new to many things out there. When I had Raya, being a dad was a new challenge for me, as it is for any man who has children. I once remembered that a married couple had triplets when they were expecting their first child, boy were they surprised when they found out they were having three kids at once." Chief Benja had said.
"As it was a surprise to anyone when they saw a dragon for the first time, especially when the dragons were turned to stone at the time when your daughter, Sisu, and others took on the quest to save the world from the Druun. It must have been intense for them." Raito replied.
"That it was. It was like climbing a mountain." said Raya agreeing with him.
"Yet I do know it would be irresponsible of me or anyone to let you continue to wonder around like a nomad with no home or family to stay with. The right thing to do is let you remain here with us at the Heart of Kumandra." said Chief Benja.
Raito couldn't believe what he was hearing if he wasn't there to hear it himself. His heart was pounding fast with euphoria and he shed a tear from one of his eyes as he ran towards the man and greeted him with a hug. Chief Benja hugged him back as both Raya and Sisu joined in on the group hug.
"Praise God! Praise the Lord!" said Raito in a shaky voice.
It was a big miracle to Raito to become a part of a new family when the family he had before had died along with everyone else from his home land during such a massacre. Being part of a new family and living in a new home with them was like a huge weight was lifted off his back. He got adopted by a family that took him in, he gained a loving older sister, a loving father that would be a better father to him than his biological father would be, he gained a girl friend who turns out to be a beautiful dragon and he gained a new family and a new home. He would show he is a true gentlemen around women, was helpful to the elderly, he was great with the younger kids, he was great with animals, when he met Sisu's siblings, they couldn't get over how cute he appeared to them which they really knew how to make him laugh. Sisu's siblings were a bit surprised to know that both Sisu and Raito have now fallen in love with each other and are a couple yet with how much of a gentlemen and good role model that Raito has shown to be, they accepted their relationship. Raito even got to learn a lot about the new land he's living in, some things took him a bit longer to learn but he got the hang of it.
