"Let's give a round of applause to our Kanto Champion Calem!" An MC said through the mic and the crowd goes wild after
A person in a blue jacket with red hat enters the colosseum
"And now for an opening statement of our previous consecutive champion!"
"CALEM! WAKE UP! -"
A certain black-haired boy was interrupted in his slumber as a man roars in the front yard
"We are going to be late! You know professor is grumpy if he waits in the Dragonite Airlines" a man in his mid-twenties shouted in front of his house
"Why do I have to go…?" The black-haired boy grumbles to himself "Just why do I have to leave Kanto Region"
"Riolu why don't you give him a little pat?" the man winks
The small blue canine roars in agreement and started to walk inside the house to give his trainer a "little" pat
"Riolu? Wait why is your hand glowing!? Wait! WAIT! -" the boy pleaded as he was rushed by the blue canine
Calem a 12 year old boy blessed with talent to train Pokemon his dream is to become a Pokemon Master just like his dad, unfortunately-
"Why do we have to leave Kanto?" Calem asked as he wore his Blue jacket while he leaves the house
Calem dawns a blue jacket with white stripes, blue jeans, and a black short boot. He has a straight, medium length black hair but gets covered with his red cap with sunglasses
"I already told you, Prof. Oak asked me personally to research mega evolutions in Kalos" his father said as he fixes the last remaining things in his car
"I know but why do I have to go too?" He said as he opens the door
"Because who'll take care of Riolu and you?"
"I'm already a trainer you know that dad" Calem was really against moving to Kalos but as much as he hates it he always understand the circumstances
"I know and proud of you, now the Kalos League awaits for you!" he replied
"You still didn't answer my question…" he gave up by strapping his seat belt in
"Ahh you finally made him give up?" A middle-aged man with peach skin, gray hair, and thick, bushy eyebrows asked
"No he still wants to stay but he'll get around" Calem's dad winked at professor as they deposited their luggage's in the conveyer belt
Calem was not paying any mind to them they were talking about another professor in the Kalos region something like that as Calem plays music with his pokegear a gift from his father when he won a junior league
"Now boarding flight to Kalos Region" an automated machine speaked through
"I guess this is it till meet again" Professor Oak said as he raised his right hand
"This is for you Professor Oak I'll be back as soon as I can after all I have to come back to her" the man said as he shook the professor's hand "Calem, Riolu Lets go!"
Calem followed the man as they boarded the plane
"So this is gonna be my new life now huh…" He thought to himself as he looked through the window
In a small town of named Vaniville Town honey blonde haired girl was fixing her stuff as she finished her training, she wiped off the sweat in her forehead with a blue handkerchief with a pokeball design in the corner
"Ahh finished at last" she said to herself, she looked at the handkerchief and a small smile formed in her mouth
"Still using that I see" a short brown-haired woman smiled
The girl immediately turned to red when she remembered she was with her mom
Calem spent almost 15 hours traveling in the plane he was so bored and tried to kill time by playing with Riolu, his pokegear died but his father was typing madly in his laptop. Calem peered through what was he doing and saw raw data on mega evolutions being curious on what he is typing
"Hey dad when you said you're going to research about mega evolutions does that mean like your Charizard?" Calem looked out the window as he saw they were about to land
"Yes why'd you ask?" Still typing in his computer
"Nothing, its still a mystery right? Mega evolutions, Mega Stones" Calem said in a small note
"That's why we we're still researching it hopefully one day we can figure out what is the process of a mega evolution" His dad said
They were both silent for a moment before "Now landing at Kalos region we hoped that you enjoyed your flight" the pilot said
"I guess this is it… my supposedly new home…" Calem thought "Maybe it's not so bad…"
"Looks like someone's excited" his dad grinned while putting away his laptop
They finally landed at the Kalos region and disembark the plane but Calem looked through the Horizons his initial thought on Kalos was different but if he was asked honestly, he thinks that Kalos might be his second home. On the ground he waited eagerly until-
"HELLO KALOS REGION, IM ASH KETCHUM FROM PALLET TOWN!" A boy screamed from the same plane Calem took. Everyone in the airport looked at the kid seemingly dense about his surroundings
"What's up with him" He analyzed him, he wore the same jacket as Calem does, a blue cargo pants and a red hat
"He reminds me of some one…" Calem thought
Then a Pikachu screamed also at the top of its lungs "Hey Riolu its like you obnoxious and annoying haha"
The small blue canine did not take the insult very well his hand glowed and hit Calem in the head making him clutch his head
"Have you ever heard of sarcasm?" Calem whined as the blue pokemon as he made a sound of annoyance
The kid named Ash ran towards the main building of the airport while Calem focused on him
"Do you know him?"
"AH!" Calem exclaimed "Don't scare me like that"
"Oh sorry I thought you know him since we live in the same town as him" his father said
"Haven't heard of him ask Professor Oak if he knows" he suggested
"Wait here I'll call Professor Oak and ask if he can talk to the Professor we're staying at" his dad replied
Calem shrugged his shoulder. As soon as his father disappeared in the main building his attention turned to the skies
"I guess this is it…"
A shadow crossed his field of vision soaring through the skies like a bird, it landed in the roof of a signal light tower and Calem was in total awe when he saw the pokemon magnificently stood, then soon it jumped high but Calem tried to follow but the sun was caught in his eyes blinding him for a moment. If Calem was sure he saw a Blaziken but something was different he already read the full evolutions of pokemon but why was this one different from the ones he's seen
"I need to tell dad" he said and lightly jogged heading to his dad "Could this be?"
"Yes professor we have arrived at the Kalos region, we are about to contact Professor Sycamore but I forgot the number" he sweat dropped "By the way do you know someone named A-"
"Dad!" Calem said while running in his pace
His dad looked at him with curiosity did something happened while he was gone? Is he fine? Those are the thoughts ran through his head but he remained calm because he knew panicking wouldn't help much and also that wasn't his trait to pace out of nervousness
"Oh what happened?" he simply asked
"I saw a pokemon but it wasn't in the pokedex you gave me" Calem explained
"Really? I for sure have completed the pokedex I'm sure it's there" his dad was in deep thought because he managed to complete the pokedex from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova. All that is left to discover was Kalos maybe that's what he was missing "Maybe its from Kalos?"
"Its an evolution of Blaziken!" he pointed out while motioning the shape of blaziken
"Wait don't tell me!? You've encountered more Mega Pokemon?" his dad was more excited it looks like there mega pokemon near them maybe their work would be a breeze
"It looks like you two are already enjoying your stay!" Professor Oak said through the phone
"Oh I'm sorry professor we got out of topic" he apologized
"Don't worry even I got excited but both of you should get a move on before it gets too late why don't I contact professor for you and go visit the town a little bit?" Professor Oak suggested
"How bout it?" his dad looked at Calem and just gave a shrug
"Thank you professor till next time!" he said as he hang back the phone
The two finally stepped out of the airport and got greeted with the majestic look of the Lumiose City
"Well this is it the start of a new adventure are you ready?" his dad asked
"Got no other choice to enjoy it right?" Calem stated
"Okay why don't you go sightseeing while I find the address for the professor"
"What!?" Calem was utterly shocked already 10 mins in the new region his dad was already sending him alone
"Come on it'll be fun besides I don't want you to annoy me so take Riolu and have a stroll in the city, Go challenge the Gym or something"
"Ugh Fineeeee" Calem exhaled
Calem was walking for a solid 30 mins looking for the gym while sightseeing many new pokemon but finally
"So this is the gym huh?" He looked at the tower the shape took form of a slender pyramid "What do you think Riolu?"
Riolu looked at the tower too it was beautiful too but they both remembered it was a Gym, meaning they would have to challenge it
"Ready to head inside?" He asked while looking at his partner
Riolu gave an agreement growl and decided to both head in. Calem thought the interior design looked it was ripped straight out from a Sci-fi movie where a mad scientist was creating a super weapon, many tubes were aligned form the hallway with electricity passing inside but Calem pressed forward until he reached the doo
"I guess the gym leader is an Elec type trainer" Calem said to Riolu, Luckily they weren't on a disadvantage to the pokemon typings
"Hello? Excuse me?" He said while examining a monitor
The monitor prompt up a picture of the Kalos league, Calem recognized the symbol by remembering the exterior of the Gym the symbol was infront of the entrance that's how he deduced that was the pokemon Gym
"Welcome! To the Miare City Gym" the monitor announced
"Um I would like to request a match from the Gym leader" He asked politely
"How many badges do you have?"
"Uh none… This is my first Gym in this region"
"Zero? You need to have at least four Gym badges to challenge the Miare Gym" it said while releasing a lightning coil "I suggest you try again later"
Wait! Think fast! Calem did think fast he stepped back to avoid an electrocution from the lightning coil "What's the deal with these people?"
But soon enough Calem heard a mechanism triggered under him, he took notice of a panel he was stepping on popped open to reveal a pit leading to unknown, Calem had almost no reactions to the mechanism but good thing Riolu has keen senses since he was a pokemon, Riolu quickly jumped to save Calem before he fell into the hole
"Thanks buddy you sure saved me" he said
They quickly left the Gym before they triggered more booby trap
"That was the weirdest Gym I've ever visited" Calem thought to himself, it was weirder than Lt. Surge where Calem looks through a can if that's the right button. Honestly he hated that Gym
"Come on Riolu lets rest at the park I'll call dad and check up on him" he walked towards the other direction of the Gym
But before he got out of the area of the Gym a loud scream was heard from the gym
"AHHH!"
Calem quickly turned to face the cry for help, it was a boy falling out of the gym, a boy in a blue jump suit seemingly threw a machinery on the ground that released a cushion to help the boy who fell. Calem squinted his eyes and recognized the boy it was the boy who screamed at the airport what was his name again? Ash was it?
"Lets go Riolu not much to see here"
Calem plumped down on the parks bench he was frustrated that his dad wasn't picking up any calls and more frustrated that the pokemon Gym didn't accepted his Challenge
"My first day in Kalos and this is the treatment I get? COME ON!" he messed his hair in frustration
"I guess I'll take a nap here-"
"I'm Clemont and this is my little sister Bonnie" a voice came from a near by person
Calem thought he was the only one in the park but he thought wrong he stood up and peeked who was talking, he was shocked to see the same persons again he had met in the gym and the one in the airport
"Nice to meet you Clemont and Bonnie" the teen named Ash as Calem remembered said
"This is so weird meeting the same persons thrice at this point in the same day" he exhaustingly exhaled
"You and your Pikachu are close, if you weren't it wouldn't be sitting on your head after all!" the little girl said or 'Bonnie' as Calem heard
"I really need to rest"
He sat back down again and looked at the skies it was peaceful he was about to fall asleep when
"You're right well then!" a familiar voice that Calem heard again "Let's do this! Go! Bunnelby!"
Calem's drowsiness faded when he heard a pokemon getting called out it was like his blood ran fast and his heart beated more
"A Pokemon battle…" he mumbles to himself as he walked near the edge of the stone wall that leads to the lower level "I haven't seen that pokemon"
Calem took out a pokedex and tried to scan the pokemon but it seems the data wasn't in the pokedex it was only outline figure
"Agh I forgot Dad hasn't been in Kalos he hasn't completed the dex here" he scratched the back of his head and stuffed his pokedex back inside his pocket
"Pikachu! Let's give it our all!" 'Ash' said
"Let's start with a thunderbolt Pikachu!" he commanded, pikachu jumped high in the air and its cheecks emitted out a lot of lightning until it fully covered the pokemon and a stream of concentrated lightning flew to its opponent
"An opening of an Elec type move… Pretty bold" Calem commented
"Bunnelby! Use your ears to whip up some sand!" 'Clemont' instructed, as he did the bunny pokemon used his large ears to dig lightly on the ground and shoved it to the incoming lightning
"Hmm a sand attack to lower its accuracy, backing into a corner eh?"
The two attacks clashed after the smoke clears it was clear that bunnelby wasn't fazed by the attack
"What do you think? It's a normal type, but bunnelby has the perfect counter moves against ground types!" 'Clemont' provokingly said as he pushed his glasses
"This is a tough one Pikachu" 'Ash' nervously sweat
"Now it's our turn Dig!" 'Clemont' next instructed bunnelby jumped used its ears to make a makeshift drill and dug underground
"A two turn move, but its effective against Elec types since it's a ground type move"
"Run Pikachu don't let it know your location!" 'Ash' Commanded, Pikachu ran fast inorder to avoid the hit
"Agility huh?" Calem analyzed each and every move clearly, he and Riolu has the upper hand if they were on the fight but if he was using a Pikachu what could he do?
Clemont smiled as he saw Pikachu running fast in circles to avoid the hit "Now!" surprisingly Bunnelby emerged from underground and used its ears to make Pikachu fly up, once in the air it used its ears to hit Pikachu back to the ground
"That was a solid hit…" Calem thought
"Are you alright Pikachu?" 'Ash' in worry asked, but Pikachu's reply was a volt from its cheeks symbolizing he's still good to go "That's the spirit! Let's now use Quick Attack"
"A high priority move allowing the user to go first…"
Bunnelby also took a solid hit in the chest, it flung back but it used its ear to gain balance and landed on its feet
"Double Slap!" 'Clemont' instructed, its ear glowed and moved fast to get close to Pikachu and started trashing it
"A succession move that allows the pokemon to have 3 - 5 chance of hits"
While the attacked continued Calem felt a vibration in his pocket, he pulled out his Pokegear and looked why did it vibrated. It was a message
"From: Dad
Finally found the professors Lab this is the address … just comeback if you feel like it have fun sightseeing!"
"I'll swing by after this match…"
"Use Iron Tail Pikachu!" 'Ash' commanded it jumped in the air and its tail glowed light blue
"It knows steel type moves!" the little girl said or what Calem heard from 'Bonnie'
"Block it with you ears!" 'Clemont' instructed, Bunnelby quickly catched it with its ears "It worked"
"Finally an opening! Now you can't use your ears, Pikachu hit him with an Electro Ball" 'Ash' Commanded, Pikachu's tail glowed yellow until it produced a light sphere
"An electro ball at point blank range, good luck escaping that" Calem commented once again
An explosion happened when the ball and Bunnelby connected, it was flung back farther than it ever did but it looked like it still survived the attack from Pikachu
"Let's finish this with a quick attack Pikachu!" 'Ash' commanded, Pikachu ran fast
"Looks like this battle is done…" Calem said while walking away finally he wanted to sleep in a bed after he got to the lab
"Pikachu look out!" 'Ash' warned
Calem looked at the field on what was the commotion, he saw there was a light net that was casted to Pikachu
"Prepare for trouble! And make it double! To protect the world from devastation! To unite all people within our nation! To denounce the evils of truth and love! To extend our reach to the stars above! It's Jessie! And James!" Two adult male and female announced as they synchronously chimed
"What the hell?" Calem was in total confusion was this worth his time? Or should he leave? It surprised him that there are Pokemon thieves in daylight but whats shocking is the next part
"Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light! Surrender now, or prepare to fight! Meowth! That's right!" They finished and to everyone's surprise a pokemon Meowth talked
"Impossible T-Team Rocket!?" Calem was in total shock how? When? And Why?
"Whoa! A talking Meowth" 'Clemont' was intrigued on the pokemon how is it possible to talk without any physical help
"Easy there they're bad guys who always steal other pokemon" 'Ash' held Clemont back "They've been going after my Pikachu"
"Well he's right about one thing but Team rocket doesn't just target one Pokemon…"
"I can't stand by and watch you steal others pokemon" 'Clemont' said becoming more serious
"My brothers right! Who do you think you are?" 'Bonnie' said
"Team Rocket that's who!" the group announced
"Pikachu hit them with a thunderbolt!" 'Ash' commanded, as usual pikachu jumped high in the air and started to charge up a huge strike of thunderbolt
"Wobbuffet you know what to do" the female team rocket member ordered. It also jumped in the air and made a barrier to itself
"That's mirror coat! Riolu quick use agility!" Calem instructed Riolu as an aura surrounded him and it became fast to catch the falling Pikachu that got hit by its own attack
They all turned their attention to Calem running towards Riolu as he landed in his feet cradling Pikachu
"Good work buddy" Calem snorted this is going to be fun for him
"Riolu use Aura sphere" Calem confidently said he had a battle strategy in mind
"That will lead you to nowhere!" 'Clemont' said to him
"Trust me on this one!" He grinned knowing he'll succeed
Wobbuffet jumped in the air again and used mirror coat once more to deflect aura sphere
"Quick Riolu use Copycat!" Calem interjected, as soon as Riolu hear it he quickly glowed too and deflected the reflected attack
Wobbuffet got hit hard Aura sphere was unavoidable attack it flinched as soon as he landed, the battle was tough but it wasn't over
"Use Destiny bond" the adult female ordered
A purple outline glowed through Wobbuffet and tried to hit Riolu but suddenly he got pushed by a pokemon
"What the!?" Calem got shocked
"A Froakie?" Clemont said in a small thought
"Froakie? Where is the trainer?" Calem in a loss
"Froakie is a water starter pokemon here in the Kalos Region" Clemont explained
"Oh no… Destiny Bond makes the pokemon faint if the bond also faint" Calem said to them "I'm sorry little buddy"
But Froakie didn't waiver he hopped into the frontline and got ready for battle
"Well then it looks like it wants to go down in a fight before it goes!" Calem gained back his confidence knowing the pokemon won't just give up "Please lend us your strength Mr. Froakie!"
Froakie nodded Riolu, Pikachu, and Bunnelby motioned the same as Froakie taking up the front line and got ready for the battle. Froakie jumped into the air and used its Frubble to shoot at Wobbuffet
"What is that?" Calem asked
"Its Froakies Frubble it's a sticky frothy bubble" 'Clemont said'
Wobbuffet did the same and used once more the mirror coat but failed to reflect it
"I see… it's not an attack so it won't reflect" Calem amazingly blurted out
"What is this!? Its sticky it wont come off" the team rocket said struggling to get loose
"Ready for a Focused blast Riolu?" he smiled knowing this low accuracy but powerful move will hit due to them being stuck in a place
"We'll chime in on that right Pikachu?" 'Ash' gets pumped up
"Don't forget us, Bunnelby is still powerful" 'Clemont' followed "Bunnelby use Dig"
The Rabbit dug down and emerge from the spot in the Team Rocket they got flung in the air, "Pikachu use thunderbolt!" 'Ash' commanded
"Riolu finish it with a Focused blast" Calem instructed, riolu stood in a stance of a hadoken and concentrated his energy into a ball and threw the ball towards the team rocket
It was a powerful move indeed the energy exploded with a loud bang and launched team rocket away
"Team rocket is blasting off again!" They said before disappearing
But as they disappear Calem ran quickly to Froakie he knew that the destiny bond will take place immediately and indeed it took
"Froakie!" Calem shouted making them all turn to Calem
"Oh no…" 'Ash' in defeat said
Calem knew Froakie is weak already and an idea got in his mind
"Riolu follow me" he said before stading up and cradling Froakie
"Where are you going?" 'Clemont' said
"To a Pokemon Professor I know" he said without looking back
"Hang on buddy I'll save you!" he said to Froakie as he gave a weak growl
Even though Calem doesn't see them, he knew they followed him he opened his pokegear to know where the address is
Finally they arrived at the Lab of the professor it was grand it looked like a palace. Calem didn't even bother knocking on the big door burst inside the lab
"Dad! Help!" He begged "Professor Sycamore!"
Two men emerged from a hallway one a familiar face to Calem and a new one, a middle-aged man, with black, curly hair, bluish eyes and some facial hair under his ears, he wears a blue shirt under a white lab coat, black trousers with a yellow belt buckle and brown trainers with grey stripes
"Help this Pokemon is in trouble!" Calem blurted out
"Oh no! Sophie! Please assist us" the professor directed
The professor took Froakie from Calems arm and disappeared to a hallway Calem tried to follow but Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie arrived
"Hey where's Froakie?" 'Ash' asked
"Don't worry its getting treated" Calem said
"Oh Good" Clemont calmed down knowing to pokemon was safe
"Hey we didn't catch your name, My names Ash Ketchum and this is Pikachu" 'Ash' said
"And I'm Clemont and this is Bonnie" 'Clemont' said
"I'm Calem and this is Riolu" Calem introduced himself
"Calem-"
Calem turned around and saw his dad, but to others they felt star struck
"Y-You're!" Clemont couldn't complete his sentence
"YOU'RE THE POKEMON CHAMPION IN KANTO! THE POKEMON MASTER" Ash screamed
"Oh meet my dad…" Calem said
"Hello everyone I think you already know who I am" He smiled "Haha the names Red Isamu the champion of the Kanto region"
A/N: So what you guys think? Haha I concealed the identity of Red throughout the story but he plays a major role on the story I'm really sorry for the people who are expecting Amourshipping, but this story will focus on Kalosshipping for those who want to just read for the romance of the story
