Hi! I decided to try one of those daily prompt sheets for September. I'm using an old list made for January 2019, but I liked the prompts. These will vary in length depending on how much I feel like writing and how carried away I get on that prompt. Expect a mix of characters, genres, and timing. All prompts will be K+ rated unless otherwise specified, and I really doubt I'd write anything above T. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this thing!

Also, I know it's still technically august, but I have 31 prompts and only 30 days, so I hope posting early doesn't cause any problems. And if it does, I don't care. I'm the author. I do what I want.

Disclaimer: I don't own YYH or any of it characters.

Yusuke glared at the building in front of him. Tall, dark and ominous, its boxy windows and shadowy doors were not welcoming in the slightest, despite the too-bright smiles of the too-cheerful teachers standing outside. Shifting, he tugged at his too-big uniform. The collar was too tight and the sleeves were itchy. Plus, the hat looked stupid. How was he supposed to play in this?

Yusuke's gaze wandered to the little playground outside the school. There, a bunch of other kids were climbing the structure, pushing each other on the swingset, and generally having fun. His eye caught on one girl. Her short brown hair bounced cheerfully as she chased after her friends. She looked nice, but before he could go over and say hi, the bell rang, and the teachers started calling people over. He cast one last look at her before grumpily following his teacher into the school, hands shoved deep in his pockets.

Six and a half hours later, Yusuke was glad to be out of that building. His teachers had been snobbish and patronizing, and had disliked him on principle. It was stupid! Just because his mother hadn't been married when she had him didn't mean he was somehow worth less than anyone else! He hated school already. Scowling, he stormed over to the swings and sat down, glaring at his shoes.

He didn't know how long he'd been sitting there when a hand came into view, stuck palm-up underneath his nose. Looking up, he saw the nice girl from earlier. She was smiling at him, pretty brown eyes all crinkled up.

"Hi! I'm Keiko. Wanna be friends?"

As Yusuke watched her, all his anger at the school, the teachers, his classmates melted away. Smiling, he got up and took her hand.

"I'm Yusuke. And I'd like to be friends."

And as Yusuke chased Keiko around the now empty playground, he decided that maybe his first day of school wasn't too bad, after all.

And that's chapter 1! Feel free to drop a review, and, as usual, flames will not be tolerated.
