Izuku Midoriya was a normal kid, except for the fact he was one of the 20% of society that is quirkless. Yet, for some reason, there are very few heroes, but it is probably just because few have useful quirks.

There was one hero, who surpassed all others:

All Might.

He was treated badly by the press most of the time, but he was a fan favorite among civilians. Izuku had wanted to become a hero like him.

His mom sent him to a prestigious school called UA, after winning a scholarship there. He often visited his friend Katsuki, who also went there when he was younger. Katsuki Bakugou honestly was kind of a bully, but Izuku saw the good in him. Bakugou gave Izuku a nickname: Deku.

It happened one day, however, that Izuku somehow manifested the quirk of All Might. All Might promised to show him the ropes of the quirk, One for All.

Fate wanted it a different way.

All Might was busy fighting off Toxic Chainsaw, while trying to destroy a dimensional collider that his archenemy, All for One, had set up to bring back an alternate dimension version of his deceased family. In short, All Might got pinned underneath rubble, his hero form gone.

"Young Midoriya... take this drive and shut the collider down... I'll get up because the Symbol of Peace has to always get up," All Might said, blood ejecting from his mouth in large quantities.

Izuku has heading to do that, when All for One began to approach with two henchmen. One he recognized as his bodyguard, Kurogiri, and the other was a mystery. He wore a spikey mask, and seemed to have several different types of explosives:c4, grenades, etc.

Izuku dashed behind some rubble, and heard the scene play out.

"I know what you are trying to do, and it won't work, His-"

"Silence, old fool. Mr. Yagi, I hate to do this but..." All for One's arm became beefy with all his combined quirks.

"I can't let you live anymore," he said, slamming the enlarged, spiked fist straight onto All Might's head.

Izuku saw the blood generated from this murder, and tried to muffle his screams, but to no avail.

"Kill that guy," he said to the heavily armour clad henchman. He nodded, and dashed toward Izuku.

'Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap! All Might is dead! How am I supposed to become the Symbol of Peace without him?' Izuku half mumbled, half thought, whike running away from the mystery man. He dodged several explosives launched by him, narrowly avoiding the last grenade, which went arwry, exploding a nearby track. Izuku couldn't ignore this, and he ran in front of an incoming train, activated One for All, and braced himself. He skidded along the track, pushing back on the train. He stopped it, and luckily, the train blocked him from the mystery man. He wheezed, his legs slightly broken. 'So there are drawbacks...' he thought, taking out his handy dandy notebook and scribbling some notes down.

His thoughts were interrupted by a crowd of people applauding him. People were taking pictures, and so, he dashed out of there, He appeared on the headlines, though his face was covered, so no one knew it was him. As he made it back to his dorm, he felt a longing. He snuck out and went to his mom's house.

When he arrived through his bedroom window, he heard clattering and hurried steps. The door busted open, showing his mother, Inko Midoriya, with an aluminum baseball bat. "COME OUT WHOEVER YOU ARE! I HAVE A BAT AND AM VERY AFRAID!" she looked around saw Izuku, dropped it.

"I-Izuku! What are you doing here? You have school tomorrow!" She looked at his face, and saw the stress, fear, tiredness, and sadness mixed into a sad lumpy mess. "I guess I can just drive you tomorrow..." She said goodnight and left Izuku to his own thoughts. 'I wonder why Mr. Yagi isn't here...' he pondered, before drifting off into sleep.
