Author's note: I haven't written a fanfiction in a long time so I apologize if this is crap. Also, I apologize if any characters aren't written quite right, I really tried, but I've only played P3P from FeMC's perspective so the characters are based on that play through. Enjoy!
"Shinji?"
His blood ran cold. That voice... He hadn't heard it in almost two years. Without turning around, he grumbled, "Aki send you?" Damn him, he knew I always had a soft spot for her.
"Aki doesn't know I'm here. I came to find you on my own."
"I'm not coming back if that's what you're gonna ask so you might as well leave now."
"Not what I'm here for, smartass," she said with a light giggle. "I know better. I just... Came to check on you. And to bring you this." She gently grasped his arm to turn him to face he and he didn't fight it. The girl standing before him was so familiar, so comforting that for a few seconds he forgot why exactly he had left the dorm in the first place. Her deep green eyes, so unlike any other Japanese girl he had ever seen, reminded him of how the two of them had snuck out of the orphanage growing up to sit on the grassy banks of Iwotodai and stargaze. It was not something he ever would have considered doing on his own and Aki had made fun of him repeatedly, but he had always gone along with it when she asked. It made her happy, which in his more carefree days was more than enough to make him smile. Now though... He shook his head and moved his gaze to the bundle she was holding out to him. It was warm, the smell coming from it wafted towards him nose. He looked at her quizzically.
"I made you some food. Can't promise its any good, but I figured any homemade food would be better than what you could find out here." She frowned. "Aki mentioned you had been looking thinner lately, but he didn't say it was this bad. You're practically a skeleton." Sigh. "I also put a blanket in there. It's going to get colder soon."
After forcing the package into his hands, she turned and started walking away.
"Why?" he called after her.
"You've been taking care of everyone else for as long as I can remember. When are you going to let someone take care of you?"
