First Chapter:
All about duties
Class 2-4 representative was Nakamura Ichika. She was a tall girl who used to be part of the Track and Field –club. Her main sport had been Pole-Vaulting. She was a star.
Nowadays Nakamura was hard-working student and still a star. She was always among top three on grade chart. She looked sophisticated (her family was actually quite wealthy but she didn't advertise that). She never raised her voice. She was ready to enter the society.
She was nothing like Ebumi Masaru. While Ebumi dedicated himself to rugby, Nakamura couldn´t care less about sports these days. Nakamura thought that Ebumi was a delinquent and a weirdo who put black mascara on his eyelashes.
Why they had to be on the same class?
The reason why Nakamura was thinking Ebumi at the moment, was that it was his turn to help her with the class duties. But that idiot was nowhere in sight.
´Moron. ´
Probably Ebumi was on the rugby field, once again. Fine. Nakamura could finish class duties by herself. It was partly her job anyway. And she would make sure that homeroom teacher Saito knew Ebumi was avoiding responsibilities. Men always got themselves away from troubles too easily. And some stupid girls voluntarily helped boys with duties. Well, Nakamura Ichika wasn´t that kind of a girl.
Next day Ebumi came to yell at her during the lunch break.
´Why you had to turn me in? I was going to finish my duties today. I had to practice yesterday, we have a practice game this weekend! ´
Nakamura raised her gaze away from the English textbook.
´You have to do class duties every school day this week, ´ she pointed out, ´that´s why. I did my part. I´m busy too, you know. ´
Ebumi looked angry.
´Saito said I´ve to stay here extra today! ´
´Not my problem´, Nakamura said and looked her English textbook again.
"Stupid bitch", Ebumi hissed in English.
"Excuse me?" Nakamura answered in English too and put her book on the desk.
It was stupid to get provoked but she hated that word.
´Nothing´, Ebumi said gloomily and turned his back to her.
´Coward´, Nakamura said, ´if you´re going to call me... a bitch... then don´t turn your back to me! ´
Now many of their classmates were staring at them. This was nothing new: Nakamura, top student and probably the next member of the student council, was often commenting that Ebumi, former delinquent and edgy rugby player, was ruining the atmosphere of the class. But usually Ebumi didn´t answer her or certainly didn´t call her a bitch.
Ebumi turned his angry face back at her.
´Haaa? Coward? ´
Nakamura stood up.
´Heey there, stop fighting! ´ Natsuki tried to calm them down.
School bell was ringing. Lunch break was over.
Nakamura glanced Ebumi once more and then sat back to her seat.
I hate him, she was thinking. He makes me look bad... No, he makes this whole class look bad.
Luckily, the school year was almost over. Maybe she would get into the different class than he in next semester.
Well, their third school year started. And Nakamura was still at the same class as Ebumi.
But she made it to the Student Council. She was voted to be the president of the Council. So, she didn´t have time to worry about Ebumi.
But then, soon after entrance ceremony, Nakamura was called to the Principal´s Office.
´Have you heard that our rugby team has advanced very much? ´ Principal started after greetings. ´Last semester, they made it to the Inter High. ´
´Um, yes, sir,´ Nakamura answered hesitantly. What the heck?
´I´m sure you´ll make some great cooperation with the rugby team", Principal said smiling, ´I want that some powerful middle-school players will hear about us. ´
So this was all about advertising school.
´Erm, what do you want me to do? ´ Nakamura asked.
´The new captain of the rugby team will be too busy with the team´, Principal pondered, ´I mean Shoota Kibi. But Vice-Captain will be your partner in this, I´m sure. You two will represent our school this year, when we visit middle-schools and stuff like that, school festival etcetra...´
´Fine...´ Nakamura answered. ´And who is...? ´
Office´s door opened loudly.
Nakamura closed her eyes for a second before she turned her head.
Masaru Ebumi entered the room.
´What? ´
