A/N: Well here we go, the prologue of Destiny! Before we get started I would like to address something, someone had a very similar idea to mine and made a story in a similar fashion to this. We had the idea around the same time. I originally posted about this back in chapter 10 (The site will label it chapter 11 cause it counts the prologue) of Winter storm. The release date for the said chapter was march 3rd. The same date of publishing of his story.
I'm not laying claim to ownership of this AU its probably been done before either of us. I did PM the author and he didn't respond, but we had the idea on the same day ( I don't know exact times like what hour but I do know it was on March 3rd, I looked through my email and found when it told me the chapter had published. ) I don't want any trouble with him and I would assume same goes for him. That's just your little PSA before we start, anyway without further wait here we go!

In the Nightkingdom the three moons lit the room fairly well. Arctic was sound asleep. He had serious trouble adjusting to the new sleep schedule but after a little while, it began to make sense. Foeslayer had been very understanding of this and even found Nightwings that were out in the day more than others. When she wasn't home he could hang out with these 'friends' and somewhat enjoyed himself.
Today was supposedly the night his and Foeslayers eggs would hatch, Arctic was excited but also slightly nervous. "Artic," Foeslayer hissed. Arctic rolled over and grumbled something about sleep schedules.
"ARTIC, you slumbering Iceberg the eggs are gonna hatch!" He sat up looking at Foeslayer.
"Wait... what, the eggs are hatching!" Arctic said, rubbing his eyes.
"Yes, now let's go before we miss our dragonet's own birth." She said, taking off through their front porch area.
Arctic quickly followed her, not wanting to lose her black scales in the night. They both landed at the small clearing the eggs currently rested in. He landed behind his mate, his wings naturally draping over her protectively. She was clicking her claws together watching the eggs tentatively.
"Sorry for snapping, I'm just worried," She said, not taking her gaze from the eggs.
"I understand, and hey everything's going to be fine," Arctic said reassuringly entwining his tail around Foeslayer's. As they sat there in silence, Arctic noticed the silver on one of the eggs.
"Is that normal he said worriedly." Pointing to the silver edges.
"Yes," she said smiling at him.
"That happens when Nightwing eggs are born under the moon."
She looked up at the sky, "we haven't had a thrice moon born Dragonet for awhile." She said taking a step closer to the egg.
"Told you that you're special," He said smiling at his mate. She smiled back at him, meeting his gaze. Arctic went back to watching his dragonets.
"If they turn silver under the Moonlight, why isn't this one silver?" Arctic said protectively wrapping his tail around it.
"I don't know, maybe it's because of us?" Foeslayer said leaning into his side. Arctic nodded not commenting on that before they could say anything else the silver egg cracked a little.
Artic's head snapped to the egg, "Should we help him?" He said slowly reaching a talon out to it.
"No," Foeslayer answered.
"He can get out by himself, look!" She exclaimed pointing at the egg.
The dragonet had broken the top of the egg and now his small head was poking out the top of.
"What do we name him," Arctic said, happy to see his dragonet healthy and well.
"I was thinking of Darkstalker." She said picking the little one up in her arms. Arctic gave a warm smile curling his tail around the two. "That sounds just a tad bit creepy don't you think?" He said gently.
"No, he chases back the dark like a hero." She said neutrally. "He's our little hero then," Arctic said not wanting to argue.
"He doesn't look much like an Icewing is that a bad sign?" Arctic said worry seeping back into his voice. Foeslayer frowned.
"I don't think so, I'm sure it's fine. Stop worrying about it, they're perfect." Foeslayer said cradling the young dragonet.
"Of course, I'm happy I have what every Icewing should dream of; freedom." He said brushing his wings with hers. Foeslayer smiled at him and burrowed into his side resting her head against his shoulder.
"Is the other one going to hatch tonight?" he asked, bringing the mentioned egg closer. Foeslayer looked at it, before putting her head back down.
"I don't believe so, maybe we should stay here for the night just in case?" Arctic nodded draping his wings protectively around both of his dragonets, and his mate. He looked at the sky one more time.
Darkstalker, the first thrice born moon dragon in centuries. A child of the moons, a child of mine; Prince Artic of the Icewings. No, now; Arctic of the Nightwings.
He smiled down at Foeslayer, he would die for her and now his dragonet. She meant everything to him. He curled up next to her and slowly drifted to sleep. Nothing would happen to her or his dragonets, not while he was still alive.
A/N: Before you take off let me know what you think, especially the grammar. I always struggle with grammar and try my best but Spell check can miss a few things and I couldn't get this checked by my friend who normally checks it. So I did my own self-check, let me know how it sounds.
Also in the future chapters of this would you rather see it from Artics perspective or Darkstalkers. I was going to sprinkle in a mixture of the two but you guys let me know. Well... thanks for reading see you all next time!
PS: This is much shorter than I originally intended but future chapters will be much longer.
