I should not be writing this, this doesn't concern my plans. But my imaginative mind won't let it go until I write it down.

So here goes the story about ByaHisa. But since I don't particularly like Hisana despite her contribution to Rukia's adoption, and her looks, so I am substituting the names and scenes.

All because she left her baby sister, in order to save herself from dying.

I would understand it, if she left baby Rukia in a nicer place, but no. She just left her.

And because of that, not even Byakuya's great love for her, can make her ideal for me. Even though she had repented.

Her values is way off track from what is acceptable as a human being, as a family, and as an older sister.

I reject her.

I am sorry for being too opinionated, but aside from her abandoning her baby sister, she's a good character, I guess?

And so, our lead will be none other than my favorite pairing: IchiRuki.

DISCLAIMER : I do not own anything from this story. Entertainment purposes only. Song-fic

Warning: IchiHime mentioned… I am not a fan of Orihime, but I don't dislike her. And she's an important friend for Rukia.

If she only have half of Rukia's backbone, I would have liked her.

Wherever You Will Go

Ichigo…

Ichigo…

Rukia called out with soft voice that pained lchigo's heart.

As though a farewell.

"Rukia" Ichigo whispered back. Calling out to the winds of the past.

The past that he treasured deep inside his heart and soul.

The time a certain raven haired girl changed his world.

Do you believe in destiny?

Well as for Ichigo, he knew then, seeing her was like facing destiny itself.

She was his everything.

She was the reason he was, who he is.

Back then…

He was your typical rebellious and prideful young man. He had lived his life as if he owns everything, and despite that nothing interests him.

Being a heir to one of the 4 greatest clans of Soul Society, and the richest of all, made him took for granted everything.

His only concern was to make his grandfather proud, and become a worthy successor.

Being orphaned at a young age: after losing his mother at his birth, and then losing his father years later, his life only revolves on the idea that he is going to be the next head of the clan, and must not show weakness.

And so, he kept all his grief, loneliness, and sadness within.

But seeing someone literally embodies his pains, on such a beautiful face. He was stacked.

He felt connected to her.

Rukia. A commoner girl from Rukongai—the poorest and filthiest place he could imagine. Rob him of his attention.

Attention that had never been completely captured by anything or anyone for that matter.

He saw her at one of his missions outside of Seiretie. And since then, he could not help himself from visiting Rukongai every time he had the chance to, as lieutenant of one of the squads in Gotei 13.

She was a fascinating person, looking at her at a far was his only relief after a long and arduous work. And yet, he couldn't master himself to approach her.

She looks sacred and untouchable. And her smiles—though rare and melancholic, they were incredibly beautiful.

And he knew that she will never be accepted by her clan. She is just a peasant.

Every time that thought came to him, he would turn his back, and yet come back again the next day.

That day, the place where Rukia was working was attacked, and being there, he was forced to show himself.

He was able to save his Rukia.

[So lately, been wondering
Who will be there to take my place
When I'm gone, you'll need love
To light the shadows on your face]

Rukia smiled down at her husband, Ichigo, as she gently caressed his orange locks away from his serene sleeping face.

"Ichigo" she whispered as she forced herself from keeping her tears at bay.

"I love you, Ichigo. I love you. I am sorry that I can not be strong enough to stay by your side, the way I want to, the way you need to. Soon, I will not be here anymore. What will happen to you?" she gently took off her hands from his handsome face.

And turned away crying, shaking. She hugged herself.

"Rukia?" Ichigo asked with concern as he turned towards his wife, as soon as he heard her silent sobs. "are you in pain?"

At this his heart stilled. He knew that someday he would loose her. He knew. And it did not lessen the pain.

She had an uncurable disease, that not even his vast richest and power will enable to save her.

He was powerless to fight the force of nature. The clock of destiny.

"I am just happy, Ichigo. I am happy to have you" Rukia said bravely as she turned towards her husband with tear-stricked face.

Ichigo couldn't help himself from wiping away her tears. Tears that killed him inside more than anything that had ever pierced his body.

It crushed his heart to pieces.

[If a great wave shall fall
And fall upon us all
Then between the sand and stone
Could you make it on your own?]

And so Ichigo devoted, every available time he had after all his obligations and responsibilities were taken cared off. The things he so wanted to get rid off, in order to have time for his wife.

But being the newly appointed captain of his squad, and now the current head of the clan, it was impossible.

He felt like the world was tearing him apart, when all he ever wanted was to be with his beloved.

"Rukia" he called out at the wind.

Now she's gone, and yet, why does the world keep spinning? As if she never existed. Why?

The world is so cruel.

He remembered the time, he had sat there looking at her face. Her life slowly fading.

Her hands in his, the only connection he have of her.

"Rukia" he called out again.

[If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go]

After her passing, he lived his life the way he knew how.

Taking charge of his responsibilities and obligations, and focusing on nothing else.

He had buried his heart and soul, along with his wife.

[And maybe, I'll find out
A way to make it back someday
To watch you, to guide you
Through the darkest of your days]

Rukia painfully observed her husband from afar.

She recalled the first time she had met him.

Back then…

She had tried to save him from getting attacked, but it turned out that it was him who ended up saving her.

And since them, their encounter had been frequent.

Sometimes they would talk for hours, but most of the times they were just content with each other's presence.

And she knew then, that he was a tired man.

He had so much grief, and sadness in the world that he had never shared to anyone except for her. And her heart pained for him.

With her, he was able to speak up his mind, and express his pains. And be a comfort to him.

He was just like she is. A broken hearted soul that wanted connection.

And it terrified her, knowing that she's going to die soon, she was concerned.

She could not let herself become a scar that will weaken him as a man. As her husband.

Rukia hugged herself for comfort, as she turned away.

Ichigo is a strong and kind man.

She convinced herself.

[If a great wave shall fall
And fall upon us all
Well then I hope there's someone out there
Who can bring me back to you]

Life filled with obligations and responsibilities, is a dull way of living and yet efficient.

He was able to do more, but not live more.

"find my sister" Rukia begged on her deathbed.

She said so, in hopes that her wish might give him comfort and mission to continue living, as well as to atone for her sins.

The sins she had been repenting all of her life.

And that wish kept his heart beating.

Until, he saw her.

His heart literally died.

"Orihime"

A person who looks exactly like his diseased wife.

[If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go]

At her adoption, he could barely stand her presence. She rejected her. Hated her even.

How could two different person have completely the same face?

He wanted to kill.

As if the world had not yet been satisfied in taking away his beloved, and now is forcing him to live with her face, that belongs to his own adopted sister/sister in law.

And so, he was unable to keep his cool and rushed it towards the very person who came barging inside the room without permission.

Uryu was stunned by the immense power that engulfed him as Ichigo passed by.

[Run away with my heart
Run away with my hope
Run away with my love]

"Rukia" Ichigo whispered in front of his beloved picture, inside the shrine. "I found your sister, and fulfilled your wish"

For hours, he had stayed inside the shrine alone. Letting the silence engulfed him. Feeling the wound tearing open.

[I know now, just quite how
My life and love might still go on
In your heart, in your mind
I'll stay with you for all of time]

"That's the kind of man you are, that I know in my heart" Rukia whispered to him back then, after baring his heart and soul to her. His pains and griefs, as well as his aspirations.

He remembered how it made him feel stronger and confident to take on the world.

[If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low
I'll go wherever you will go]

"I don't know how to ask about your past without trampling on it, but when that time comes, when you wanted to open up, I will be there to listen" Rukia said with full sincerity, that it struck Ichigo right to his heart.

Nobody had ever been truly sensetive about his feelings, everyone assumed he was fine on his own, just because he was a rich and arrogant brat.

[If I could turn back time
I'll go wherever you will go
If I could make you mine
I'll go wherever you will go
I'll go wherever you will go]

"Ichigo Kurosaki, what's your name?" Ichigo asked nervously at the girl he saved.

"Rukia" she answered back.

The prettiest name he had ever heard.

A/N: what we can learn from here is how Hisana captured the illusive attention of one of the strict-law abiding traditional man. A lesson from two books from Sir Chris and Sir Carnegie.

The need to be understood, to be heard. Sincerity.

[secret: underlying motivation] the need to feel important. For all actions, stems from one's intention whether consciously or unconsciously recognized.
