This is it, my first ever story, I hope you enjoy it and you can correct me in the reviews if you find any errors on the writing since I'm using my phone to write:)

(A week after Simba took the throne)

The Pridelands, after a long time that it was ruled by a lion named Scar who destroyed a once beautiful place the lions called home is finally free from his paws and is now ruled by the rightful heir and king, Simba, son of the late King Mufasa.

The new king sleeps inside the main den peacefully, a week after he reclaimed the throne and has just started to restore the place's old beauty, just then a bird is seen making his way to the king of beasts.

"Good morning Sire", says Zazu, to the slumbering king in the farthest area of the den, when the king didn't even flinch or get up Zazu repeats his statement in a rather more loud way, "GOOD MORNING SIRE".

"WHOA, WHAT WAS THAT?!", the king exclaimed shooting up however still drowsy, he sees the majordomo with a somewhat dissapointed expression, "Oh, it's just you Zazu, good morning to you too", he replied with a smile.

"Sorry to disturb you Sire but we have to look out for the Pridelands and as king it is your duty to give a solution to the matter", Zazu explains.

Simba gives out a look, he knows in himself that he's not entirely ready for this kind of responsibility and even worse he has to restore the Pridelands back to its normal condition without any idea on where to start, but he has to, "Right, let's go", Zazu follows as Simba starts walking towards the exit of the den where he is greeted by many lionesses who just woke up before he did, including Sarafina then his mother, Sarabi.

"Good Morning son", Sarabi nuzzles her son, "Another day, another duty to fulfill".

Simba pulls away from his mother's embrace, "Yeah, it's just that...I'll admit that it's quite hard for me".

Sarabi reassures, "Simba, don't be hard on yourself, take it easy and always remember that we are here to help you, don't be afraid to ask if you need to".

"I will, thanks mom", he nuzzles his mother once more, "I'm gonna go now, me and Zazu has work to do". "Go on", she says as her son walks away.

Simba makes his way while being accompanied by a bickering Zazu, he wasn't really paying attention tho, he's more on thinking about whether it is right for him to rule even though he doesn't know what to do, where to start or if he should've stayed with Timon and Pumbaa in the jungle, he wants the carefree life he once lived but he needs to fulfill a responsibility, he doesn't know anymore, he's lost in his thoughts until a certain someone passes by that got him out of thinking, someone very special to him.

"Good morning Simba, you too Zazu ", Nala greets as she comes across Simba and Zazu near the watering hole. "Good day Nala", Zazu greets back.

"Good morning to you too Nala", he greets her after not actually talking to her or coming across her for days because of his busy schedule, it's not that he's complaining that he doesn't see her often, they're not mates so it's not like he has to but ever since he spent time with her in the jungle, he felt something he's never felt before, a special feeling that's telling him to ask her to be his.

Nala smiles, "I see you're going to go do your duties so I'll get going, I don't want to delay you".

Simba signals to Zazu to leave them to chat, the majordomo then obeys, "No it's fine Nala, it's actually great to see you after days. By the way, what are you doing out here so early?", he asks as he notice that all the other pride members are back at Pride Rock and he knows Nala isn't a morning person.

Nala nervously answers, "Oh, I just came back from Rafiki's tree to consult a check up cause I've been quite sick lately", "And don't worry, it's nothing serious", she adds before Simba could talk.

"You sure Nala?", Simba asks not entirely convinced by Nala's tone of voice. She nods, and he shrugs off his doubt, "Okay, just don't over work or harm yourself, I don't want to lose my best friend", Simba teases although the best friend part doesn't feel right for him when it came out of his mouth.

"Simba!, it's not like I'm gonna die from a common sickness", she says giggling a little.

Simba grins, "I know I just wanted to cheer you up", "What a way to cheer up a person Simba", Nala teased back, minutes of talking until Zazu comes back to interrupt after leaving the two to convers, "Sorry to disturb you Sire but we're late, the earlier we get started, the faster we'll be done, then you two can talk all you want".

Simba replied before things start to get awkward, "Okay, lead the way", he says goodbye to Nala, "See you soon Nala I have to go"

"Bye Simba, goodluck", Nala says.

Just as she watches Simba disappear from the distance her smile turns into a frown remembering her situation. She just found out she's pregnant. She went to Rafiki thinking she's sick after vomiting and feeling dizzy almost every day for the past two days and she was adviced by her mother to go to Rafiki so she obeys. After walking for a few minutes she finally reached Pride Rock, as soon as she climbs up the ledge she was quickly greeted by her mother.

"Nala", Sarafina nuzzles her daughter. "Hi mom", Nala responded.

"So, how did your check-up go?", Sarafina asked still worried as she witnessed how bad Nala vomited earlier this morning.

"It went good mom, nothing is wrong with me", Nala says.

Sarafina sighed in relief, "Thank goodness, my baby is fine".

Speaking of baby, Nala remembered but she is still hesitant to tell her own mother. "She's my mother, she will support and understand, I know she will", and so she does.

"Mom, there's something else I need to tell you", Sarafina is ready to listen and Nala is about to talk when she noticed there's a few lionesses that could hear her, including Zira, "That sneaky lioness".

"But mom, can we go somewhere a little private", Nala requested to her mother and Sarafina agrees, "Of course honey, lead the way". They went to a secluded cave in Pride Rock where lionesses give birth, now it's empty because no lioness will be having a newborn in the mean time.

"So, what are you meaning to talk to me about that seems to be so important?", Sarafina asks.

Nala replies nervously, "Uh...mom, I bought you here in the cave where lionesses go to have their cubs because...I will be needing to go here in a few months", she tried to not directly tell the subject and let her mother process what she just said.

A few seconds had past and Sarafina finally gets it, "Wait, why do you need to go here in a few months?. Unless you're telling you're pregnant?", Nala nodded, "You are?, Kings above, Nala, I'm so happy for you", she nuzzles and hugs her daughter happily.

"Thank you mom, I'm glad you understand", Nala responded.

"Of course I will understand, you're my daughter and the cub you're carrying is my first grandcub".

Out of curiosity Sarafina questions, "But Honey...may I know who the father is?", Nala knew her mother would ask that, "Doesn't she already know who it is?, it's pretty obvious he is the father but I guess she only sees us as friends, even the father of my cub only treats me like a friend, I'm gonna tell her anyways", she thought.

She sighed heavily closing her eyes, "It's Simba."
