Our world is cruel in many ways. Some worse than others. Wars, famine, drought, natural disasters; all things that cause death. But what's worse than that is the system our society is built upon and the fear of loving other people. People have been in pain for so long that many have given up. Others move on, and if you're lucky enough, you might be one of the few people who end up happy and satisfied with their life.

Japan is a nice country. Our economy is thriving and our work force is better than ever, but the mental health of many has yet to thrive. Is it this way in other countries? I wouldn't know, I've never been. The opportunities to go abroad get slimmer as you get older. The exchange programs are always right at someone's front door until a person reaches a certain age. When you turn 20, you're focusing on university and later job hunting. The next thing you know you could either be working around the world, or you could be married with 2, maybe even 3 kids, and plan nice expensive trips that are a once in a while privilege to families who can afford it. I'm not quite there yet.

My name is Bakugou Katsuki, Japanese characters 爆豪 勝己, 爆 (Baku) means "Burst" and 豪(Gou) means "Extraordinarily strong" so my family name means "Explosion Master". I know it's an odd last name. On the other hand, Katsuki is fairly common where 勝 (Katsu) means "Win" and 己(Ki) means "Self". Works perfectly for my quirk, Explosion, if I do say so myself. Although my name changed a little along the way but I'll get to that. This story I'm about to tell you may be a long one of pain and suffering but I promise I'll get to the sappy part you readers all enjoy. I learned English in high school but didn't use it for much because I was never stationed in an English speaking country. It does come in handy for foreigners though.

I don't know where this story will take me, and if I'll even write in my perspective, but it'll be a damn good one. Now onto the story for you damn extras.

"Mama, mama, please please please read me a bed time story," the child batted his eyelashes at his mother several times in an exaggerated way. Something many kids do as a way to taunt their parents into getting what they want. It may not work every time but it works damn well for a bed time story.

The mother rushed her bouncing child to her bed while dodging all of his toys in the room. It was like a labyrinth to get through every night and it was always the mom's mission to complete. "Fine fine Katsuki but you seriously need to go straight to sleep after."

"I will, I will!"

Katsuki's mother sat in his bed in a delicate manner. His mom was always a beauty, even now she still is but he didn't want to admit that. It was her spiky blonde hair and her gorgeous big eyes that caught the attention of many people when she was younger that fortunately little Katsuki had inherited. The name of this woman was Bakugou Mitsuki.

Mitsuki leaned in towards Katsuki quickly and said "On a dark and stormy night," in a dark and husky voice she continued, "the tall dark trees were blowing and the creepy hou—"

"No I don't want to hear a scary story tonight," the little boy interrupted, "I want to hear something else!"

Katsuki was secretly hoping for a particular story every night that his mom only had the desire to tell one night every other week. Mitsuki didn't like to tell her son this story much due to the stereotype that it promotes, but she started anyway, "Many years ago, people were terrorized by horrible goblins and criminals everywhere they went. The people's money was stolen, they're expensive jewelry and clothes were taken as soon as they had even picked it up to buy it! But no one could fight back due to their lack of skill and magnificent ability to stay lazy. But one day a heroic man came to save the town! He would always fly down with his cape flowing majestically in the wind, his fluffy hair slicked back, and his shiny teeth in a huge smile. His name was—

"AlphaMale, AlphaMale!"

"Katsuki, if you keep interrupting me, I swear I will—"

"Sorry Mama keep going!"

Mitsuki continued her exaggerated movements, "And his name was AlphaMale. He would swing down from large buildings and pop out of nowhere to save omega's in distress. Did he do it for fame? No. Did he do it for the omegas? Absolutely not! He did it for the people!"

Katsuki jumped up and down on his bed, "He did it for the people, for the people!"

"Little Blasty if you keep jumping like that you're gonna be like one of those monkeys who fell off and hit his head. Now go to sleep!" His mother tucked him back in and gave him a little tickle on his tummy to which he gave a chuckle in return. Mitsuki got up from the bed, turned the light off and stepped on one of his toys before closing the door. She gave out a little yelp but tried not to be too loud. The toy she stepped on was one of the little boy's All Might figures. All Might was their current "Symbol of Peace", a destroyer of villains who protected the people all with a smile on his face. All these people that Katsuki looks up to and stories that he is interested may not be so bad if all the protagonists in them weren't alphas.

The societal norm was for omegas was simple but complicated. Many married into rich alpha families for the sole purpose of giving birth to alphas. If an omega is born both the mother and child would be thrown out. The omegas, of course, came from rich omega families, which were rare. These rare families were only there to distribute their children to the alpha's for money. Alpha's were seen as rich, athletic, incredibly smart people who could do anything. Rich omegas were for procreation, and poor omegas lived in dirt and their every thought was when their next meal would be, or if they'd even live to see the next day. This wasn't just for providing for themselves or their families. It was in fear of being harmed and, more than likely, raped by an alpha who was strongly influenced by an omega in their heat. Part of the reason most omegas can't get jobs is because employers worry their heat could affect the workers and costumers around them.

The middle class were mostly betas, people who didn't have to worry about pheromones or discrimination. They lived normally like most humans. Most would marry other betas, have beta children, and live their beta lives. They didn't have to worry about not getting even a store clerk job, or being put in a constant state of stress and pressure due to their second gender. If a beta went off and fell in love with an omega or alpha, it was possible the relationship wouldn't last forever. Their loved one might one day find their fated mate and they'd be so attracted to them to the point they can't escape their charm. Although a beta wouldn't die of a broken heart unlike an omega. That's a story for another time.

While society walks on in their path called life, people have different worries. A mother might worry about her child crying in the middle of a movie theater. A man might be nervous about crossing the street because he was in a car accident once. These stresses differentiate throughout each and every person, but there is one people think about so much they may not have time for the very thing it's caused by. Hanahaki disease.

The flowers that consume your body are what keep people from falling in love. Everybody can get it, betas, omegas, and alphas alike. Though statistics say omegas contract the disease more than many due to the constant want, and possibly need, for a partner.

Katsuki has always looked up to All Might. All Might is an alpha and history has yet to see the first ever hero to be revealed as an omega. This led to many kids wanting to grow up as an alpha. They wanted to have a stupendous quirk, that was paired with a fashionable costume, and an unforgettable hero's name. Along with that, came the desire to be an alpha since no one had heard of an "omega hero". It's only ever been a magnificent world of peace because of the hero's we call alphas. Needless to say, Katsuki was the same.

Masaru, the head of the Bakugou household, is a gentle man. He's never lashed out at Mitsuki or their son. His soft brown hair and gentle eyes are what people notice about him first, though he is no coward when it comes to fight. Masaru has never had a noticeable quirk, acid sweat, but his pheromone's are what scare people the most. Katsuki's father is indeed an alpha who, over the year's, has mastered the ability to unleash however much of his pheromones he's wanted. It's worked sufficiently in quite a few situations but the kind man doesn't take it for granted. It's only used for serious situations, which most of the time are in the bedroom.

On the other hand, Mitsuki is a beta. She's always had a temper which Masaru has looked past their entire time together. The bond that Masaru and Mitsuki has is unbreakable. Year's ago when their son was just born, Masaru's fated mate had found him and asked him to marry her. An always snide omega who gave a side eye to anyone and everything who she found more beautiful than herself. Mitsuki's husband tried long and hard to resist her and one night was found by Mitsuki in the middle of the bathroom floor with all the lights off crying hysterically of how much he wanted his supposed fated other half. Still, he refused her. The only reason the woman came was for the money her father promised if she could find her alpha. Fortunately, after a long "talk" with Mitsuki, she left, and never came back. Just goes to prove that their relationship is like a shield that no one can even chip. Masaru refused to give into his alpha side and chose to stay with the woman he was deeply in love with.

As Katsuki grew older, their love for one another grew stronger. Their son notices just how much they love each other even though it's believed that their relationship is taboo. Society has progressed and the modern era has allowed for more beta and alpha/omega relationships. But more people keep their second gender hidden from the world to keep them from facing what people fear most; being alone.

Now Katsuki has finally grown old enough to test for his second gender. He's 17, currently enrolled in his second year of high school at UA, the top hero school in the nation. His quirk gets stronger everyday and he fights for the number one spot in his school. To be the number one hero, you can't just be good at fighting, it seems you also have to be proficient in academics as well.

"No you dumb fuck, just concentrate and do the problem over again!"

"But Bakugou," the student he was teaching carried out his name, "it's so hard. You're a good teacher but I still don't understand math in general."

"You're damn right I'm a good teacher," he smirked, "but you're the problem here. You need to get this one fucking problem and then you can go to sleep."

Katsuki's best friend, also known as Kirishima Eijirou, was not one for brains but he's a damn good fighter. Katsuki would never admit it but he secretly admires his friend for his determination. Eijirou was a confident boy who was optimistic in almost every situation. His black hair that he would dye red signified his urgency for transformations, but it was also a hint towards his love for Eijirou's all time favorite hero, Crimson Riot. The boy would get his habits of talking about manliness from this particular hero who would always talk about chivalry. It was his admiration for this hero that got him through middle school, but it was Katsuki who helped him through his troubled times during their first year together at UA.

Eijirou was adamant on changing the subject so he could get away from studying. It rarely ever works on Katsuki but there are times it does.

"Say, are you nervous for the test tomorrow?"

"What, why?"

"Well, I mean,"he paused to think about what he was going to say next, "what if, we don't get the answer we were expecting. I'm afraid many people are going to be disappointed."

Katsuki looked confused. Kirishima would never bring up a topic like this because he knew his friend's stance on the matter was different than most people's, he didn't care. "So?"

"You know what, never mind, I'm just gonna get some sleep," Eijirou got up to leave and took his first step towards the door when Katsuki called after to him.

"Hey Shitty Hair. It doesn't matter what happens. You're still you after all." The odd part of this situation was because it's normally Eijirou who is comforting Katsuki, not the other way around.

The red head gave a bright smile, "You're right Bakugou! It'll still be you after all."
