Hello, I have made this fan fiction off of my favorite show ever: The Mandalorian. I do not own The Mandalorian or any of the characters in the show or most of the dialogue. I only own my OCs (There are A LOT). In this story Mando will find and raise a foundling following the same sort of story line that Enteringmymind's, The Mandalorians fan fiction does. I was inspired by that story and I will try as much as I can to not repeat anything mentioned in that fan fiction but if I do I'm very sorry.
I will also try as hard as I can to make this kid-friendly (unlike some fan fiction) and I hope you enjoy it. (this is my first fan fiction and the first time I have EVER shared my writing with the world so please go easy on me) And I also forgot to mention that I don't know what planet the beginning is set on because I don't know enough about the planets to pick one that matches my description.
It was a peaceful day in Heron's village. The smell of baked goods floated in the summer wind. The sky was so blue that it looked like it could have been painted that way. The adults were out in the fields while the elders sat on their porches smiling at the little ones who longed to hear stories of the past. They told of wars fought in the village and battles won and lost on the ground they now stood on. Heron never believed those stories. The planet was so quiet and nice that it was impossible that anyone ever fought here. The planet would always be peaceful and that was that. Heron was a stubborn strong little boy, who always put the village in good spirits. Little did he know that the peace and quiet would soon end, and the sky itself would roar in anger at the events that were soon to unfold.
Heron was laying in his bed when he heard the sound. A loud slam like he had never heard before. Screaming erupted as smoke filled the sky. His mother ran into his room.
"Heron we have to go!" she said in terror.
He could see the panic in her eyes.
"What's happening," he asked.
"Heron!" her eyes stared into his and he immediately got up obeying her command.
She grabbed his arm and ran outside, with a small blaster in her hand. The world was chaos. People ran in every direction as laser blasts filled the sky. Heron could see people laying on the ground, blood pouring from wounds. Heron ran with his mother desperate to get away from their attackers. He saw a shadow run after them, in its hand was a blaster and in the other was a large dagger. A vibroblade. Heron had seen them before. They could deliver an electric blast so strong that it could kill almost anything with one figure ran after them and fired it's blaster. His mother immediately collapsed blood trickling out from under her clothes.
"Mom!" Heron screamed, "Mom!"
His eyes filled with tears as the person drew closer. It reloaded it's blaster, getting ready to shoot. Heron knew this was going to be his end. He shielded his mother's body as he began to cry. The person held it's blaster up, but the shot never came.
Heron waited, too scared to turn and look. Finally, he got up. All around him masked warriors descended from the sky, shooting the people who came to bring horror to his village. They were mandalorians. Heron had read stories and heard rumors but they were nothing like they were supposed to be. The stories didn't tell of their strength and the power they held.
His amazement was soon interrupted as he turned back to his mother. She lay still, not moving a muscle. Her beautiful golden robes were tainted with blood and her body was sprawled out in all directions. He looked at her, and could feel grief swell up inside him. He shook her gently, and then harder.
Tears filled his eyes, yet again and he began to sob uncontrollably. He knew that now he was alone. His father had died two years earlier, and he had finally overcome his grief long enough to be happy. But happiness never lasts long.
He felt a hand on his back. He didn't want to look at who it was, he just wanted his mother to open her eyes. But he knew she would never do that again. He saw a mandalorian kneeling next to him, looking at him. His armor was smooth and had no color unlike the other helmets that were painted with beautiful designs. He sat there, saying nothing staring at Heron's face. Finally he spoke.
"Little one," he said, "I need you to come with me."
Heron realized what was happening. The stories told of this. He was a foundling. He would become a mandalorian, and live a mandalorian life. He sometimes dreamed of becoming a great warrior, but he had never thought of it happening like this. Was he ready to leave behind his home and the things he loved most? He didn't really have a choice. He nodded, and the mandalorian picked him up and flew off into the sky. He soon fell asleep, all the events of the day flashed past him as his exhausted body went limp and soft snores came from his chest.
As the story goes on you will start to see changes in the mandalorian code and rules that they follow. I've skipped some events and added others. The characters will be following the same story as the show but things might be a little different. It's my story and I can do whatever I want with it. So, many things will be different. I have another chapter ready to be published so you can expect updates soon.
