Long Live the Evil Triplet

Chapter 1

"I, I had a nightmare."

(Age 4)

"No, let me go!" Louie shouted.

"Huey, Dewey, hold him down." His Uncle Donald commanded.

Rough hands grabbed him as Huey and Dewey held down each of his arms. Louie screamed, kicked, shouted out horrible things to them as they held him down.

"Shhh. Louie." Huey said, "it's all going to be okay." He assured him. He kept saying that over and over as Louie continued to scream.

"Almost got it." Uncle Donald said. Louie stopped struggling long enough to see what his Uncle was talking about and his eyes widen when he saw him lift a syringe at eye level. He squirted it and looked down at his youngest nephew sadly.

"N,No." Louie pleaded, as the syringe inched closer and closer to his arm. "Please, anything but that! It, it gives me nightmares!" He started struggling to get away, but his brother's held onto him even more tightly."

I'm sorry, Louie," Uncle Donald said. "But I can't have you going around harming yourself, your bother's or me. This is for you own good." He told him firmly."

Nooooooooo!" Louie howled as his uncle stuck the needle in his arm.

(Present Day - 11 years Old)

Louie shot up in bed. He had sweat pouring down his face and his heart was pounding a mile a minute. His nightmares were getting worse.

He looked around his room and looked upward at the other two bunk beds. He saw Dewey's arm and leg slumped over the side and heard his loud snoring but couldn't see or hear Huey for he was on the top bunk.

He quietly got out of bed and climbed up to it, careful not to wake Dewey. If he knew that Louie was up and heading for his elder brother in the middle of the night he'd never live it down. He got up to the top bunk and sat cross legged in front of him.

He was sound alseep and almost heistated to wake him up. But the nightmare he just had was still so fresh in his mind that he just couldn't go back to sleep, at least, not yet...

He lifted a finger and poked Huey's cheek.

Huey grunted and swatted his hand and Louie quickly pulled it away just in time not to make contack.

Louie stared at Huey for a few more mintues before poking him in the cheek again. This time, Huey's eyes fluttered open. His face scrunched up in annoyance but then it quickly changed into worried and concern when he saw Louie staring at him with tears in his eyes.

"Louie?" He whispered. "What's the matter? What are you doing up this late?" He asked.

"I, I had another nightmare." He choked out.

Huey quickly sat up, now wide awake.

The last time Louie had a nightmare things ended badly for them.

"A nightmare?" He asked. "W, What was it about?"

Louie racked his brain as he tried to remember the dream. Huey studied him, looking for the signs. He couldn't tell if he was in that state of mind just yet, or not. He looked nervously towards the bedroom door. He wondered if he should get Uncle Donald.

"I, I don't remember it." Louie told him, finally.

Huey looked back at him with relief. The fact that Louie couldn't remember his nightmare was a sign that he wasn't.

"Come here," Huey said, he patted the spot beside him and pulled away part of the covers. Louie smiled and crawled over to lay beside him.

"B,but I still don't want to go to sleep." He whispered. "I, I don't know what it is, but, but I have this weird feeling that if I go back to sleep I'll, I'll be gone."

"Gone?" Huey repeated. "What do you mean, gone?" He asked as he tucked him in.

"Poof." Louie replied, as he let out a yawn, pushing his arms out at the word. "Just, just gone." He rolled on his side so he can face Huey.

"It's okay, Lou." Huey told him. "I'll stay up and make sure you are still here." He promised.

"Promise?" Louie asked, as he felt his eyes about to close.

"Promise." Huey whispered back.

Louie smiled as his eyes slowly closed.

Huey stared down at his brother with worried and concern eyes. He had never used to word gone to discribe part of his nightmares before. Could it be that his little brother was getting worse and not better like they had hoped?

It was still way to painful, and Dewey was just now getting over the last time something terrible happened to him because of Louie.

He couldn't go through what he had to with Louie again, back when it was just the three of them and Uncle Donald living in the house boat. Nobody but him, Dewey, and Uncle Donald knew of Louie's evil persona. He and Dewey weren't kidding when Webby had asked who was the evil triplet back when they first met.

Louie has an evil persona named Luis. Luis comes out whenever Louie feels emotional distress or whenever he can't control the outcome in a situaton.

Huey and Dewey had seen first hand at what Luis is capable of. The first time they met Luis he once poisioned Huey to the point where he had to get his stomach pumped and had to stay for about a week at the hospital, and stabbed Dewey in the ribs.

Later they found out that the only reason Luis had came out in the first place was because he had made the mistake of talking back to their Uncle Donald who grounded him for it. It was the first time he was ever grounded and didn't know how to process what had happened. It was emotional distress which caused Luis to take over.

Luis had only came back a couple more times and each time he did something horrible happened. A fire would break out, one of them would get serverly beaten and instead of tattling on their brother say that they just ran into a door to protect Louie. Because none of this was Louie's fault.

Right?

Huey pondered this until he saw the first ray of sunlight fill the room. He looked back down at Louie sleeping peacefully and decided to mention to Uncle Donald what Louie had told him. He only hoped that his suspsion about Luis coming out was just him being paranoid. No doubt Luis already knew what he and Louie talked about last night. Luis may be a manifest of Louie's evil persona but he can see, feel, and hear just about everything that goes on in Louie's life. If they weren't careful, Huey feared that Luis could one day take over Louie's entire mind, body, and soul and Huey wasn't about to let that happen.

Not if he could help it.

He quietly got up, without waking Louie or Dewey who was still snoring loudly in the bunkbed below and quietly left the room. No sooner had Huey left, Dewey woke up and followed suit, not bothering to be quiet about it either. Just for the simple fact that it was the only way to get Louie up without yelling at him or slapping him away.

Louie's eyes sprung open just as he heard the door close. Louie's heart sank as he scrambled out of bed and went to the full length mirror on the other side of the room. He stared at his reflection and watched in horror as his eyes turned from black to a dark shad of gray. A smile slowly spread across face. His eyes had diolated and he felt that icy cold feeling.

"Luis." Louie muttered.

"Hello again, Lewellyn." Luis replied. "It's been awhile."

"N,No. Go, Go away." Louie said.

"Not gonna happen, Lou- Lou." Luis cooed. "It's time for me to have some fun."

Then Louie felt himself falling, falling into a deep spiral abyass while something else pushed him furthur down as Luis pushed himself up.

No.

Louie thought sadly as he softly landed on his feet. He stared up at what looked like the top of a whole he had just fallen down in.

Not again.

Luis straightened himself up and smiled at his, or rather, Louie's reflection. He could feel him tugging at him, trying to climb his way back up. But Louie's emotional distress was far to great for Luis to allow Louie to break free.

Luis looked down at his now physical hand. He opened and closed it as he got use to the feeling of being able to well, feel.

He had been away for far too long.

"Louie!" Della shouted from downstairs. "Time for breakfast!"

Luis smiled.

Yes.

Breakfast.

Then, the real fun can begin.
