Bad Habit

Remus Lupin was a college bus driver. And a damn good one at that. His bus was a tight ship, no beverages were spilt, no babies cried, nothing. Remus prided himself on his bus's cleanliness and calmness, fellow students tried to get on his bus to avoid campus craze. The bus was his occupation outside of classes, it was nice to have a few extra bucks in his pocket. He wasn't very good at customer service, being too "opinionated" for the average white university-goer's taste (not to mention his inability to make a mocha white chocolate frappe in 3 minutes). So, his bus was the way to go, at least in his mind.

Sure, maybe he never went to parties. Sure, he didn't have any social life whatsoever. Sure, his studies were the sole drive of his life, but Remus Lupin was doing fine.

Until Sirius Black came along.

He was the worst type of passenger, always playing music without headphones and chewing gum loud enough so that anyone within 500 meters could hear. Remus had half a mind to kick him off of his bus, but alas, he was a regular. And a regular that tipped well. Begrudgingly, Remus let him continue on with his loud-music and arrogant-chewing lifestyles. But, oh how it irked him. Every day at 5:13 sharp he was there, sitting on the curb. Remus didn't know how he even remembered his name, but he had heard him talk on the phone (without headphones, the wanker) with someone by the name of "Prongsie" that referred to him as such. And so, Sirius Black came onto his bus without headphones and gum in hand every day.

Today was no different. At 5:12 PM, Remus pulled the bus door open to reveal the 6th semester art student.

Black smiled up at him with those infuriating white teeth. For some reason, he always had a blue scarf, the only color on his dark attire. Remus wondered why he always wore it, maybe it held some significance to him. Just like every other day, his black curly hair was worn in ringlets around his face. Black had a prominent British accent, which made a stark contrast versus Remus' harsh Maine one. This was the perfect demonstration, and he was once more reminded of his passenger's maddening dialect.

When Warren and Portsmarth Ave. met on the corner in front of the Recreation and Wellness center, Remus couldn't bite his tongue.

"Next time, wear headphones." Remus gave a forced smile, gesturing to lack of them.

"So, there's going to be a next time... I wasn't expecting such flirtatiousness from a coach driver." Black said cheekily, winking at Remus and sauntering off the bus. Remus couldn't believe his ears. The nerve of some people! This was exactly what drove him to live alone, people (like the aforementioned git) took too much of his patience, save for Lily, the only person who was immune to his reserved fashion.

In conclusion, Remus Lupin could conclude that certain people (ie, Sirius Black) were imbeciles and Remus had no time for such idiocy.

But God, he would be the death of him.
