CHAPTER 1 - THE BEGINNING
00000
-VOICE-OVER NARRATION-
You probably think that this is just a normal sightseeing trip, riding in an airplane above the ocean, just to see some normal sights.
Well…you couldn't be more wrong about that.
My name is Aria Sands.
And yes, that is my name.
And this…this is how it all started…here in my special kind of beginning…of a great adventure of a lifetime.
00000
SOMEWHERE ABOVE THE OCEAN…FLYING AROUND IN AN AIRPLANE LEISURELY LIKE ENJOYING THE SIGHTSEEING OF A BEAUTIFUL SCENE…
An airplane whizzed by in the skies almost noisy as it flies by while the only occupants in it, are just the pilot and the pilot's sole client, which is the young woman in her early twenties, who is Aria Sands.
This woman named Aria had just graduated from college at the early age of eighteen and spent about two years taking care of loose ends so that she'll spend the rest of her life, adventuring or back-packing across the whole globe, to try to find true meaning and purpose in her life.
With all the savings she got from her part-time jobs, as well as the inheritance money left behind from her family when they all passed away by natural causes, accidents, and other kinds of death-until Aria is the only one left of the Sands family and the sole heir and owner of whatever wealth left behind in the last will and family testament of her family, she now embarks on the grand adventure she's taking on to achieve her life's goal.
Even though she knows very well that she's too young to go on a reckless kind of adventure such as this…she'd rather face it on early than later on in the future, wasting time that she had already done with her family since Aria was practically estranged and distant all her life when she first went to elementary school.
Well, it doesn't matter since it was already too little, too late, as the saying goes.
But Aria won't turn this kind of little dream away into doing what she wants, even for a short moment or something, after graduating from college.
Right now, she's focused on making her first video log of herself since she started her world trip by riding in an airplane and flying to sight-see the entirety of all the world's oceans, islands, and such.
"Hey, guys! This is Aria Sands, streaming live in this first video log of a long-time adventure that I'm going to be taking on. Now I know that there are a lot of people doing this sort of thing. But this is one kind of adventure that you've never seen before. Trust me-it's the kind that you'll love watching and experiencing through my eyes-or rather through this video. I hope you guys enjoy it while you can!"
After making her first announcement about herself, Aria moved the recording camera to look through the windows outside the airplane to see the vast ocean the plane is flying above and through. Aria was voicing out and explaining to her camera about the list of places she's planning for her adventure, and sparing no expense to excite her viewers a little about it.
But unfortunately, that happy kind of excitement was abruptly put to an end when something happened.
LOUD CRACK! BOOM! CRACK! SPARKS! FIZZ!
Aria jumped in surprise, turned off the camera from recording, and looked towards the pilot seat as she's suddenly not liking those foreboding ominous sounds of that when she heard them.
The pilot tried to reassure her that it's probably nothing but Aria didn't believe him.
And it looks like her disbelief and suspicions became true when more of the loud noisy cracking and breaking sounds of the airplane occurred and this time one of the engines of the right side of the plane started smoking like something really broke and that there is a problem now.
Aria gasped and then the pilot is telling her to stay on her seat and put on her seat belt, and she did as he told her to do, strapping the belt tightly on her and sitting tensely on her chair like she's bracing for the impact of a bumpy landing or worse, a crash-landing.
It seems that her foreboding thoughts became true, even worse than she's feeling tense now, when the pilot cried frantically through the head-set radio, trying to regain control or something over his airplane.
[Mayday! Mayday! We're going down! The engine on the right side has broken apart! I repeat-we're going down!]
The pilot yelled frantically, trying to get helpful assistance back to mainland base or something but there's no response with the way how the man's starting to panic when Aria noticed this.
Aria felt the whole plane jolt and move in turbulence, just in her sole seat, and braced herself more for the incoming impact or not.
And that's when Aria thought she caught sight of an island through the window-before the plane went diving down in a free-fall.
[Mayday! MAYDAY! WE'RE GOING DOWN! WE'RE FALLING!] the pilot screamed like it's his last words.
Aria gasped once more and she would have screamed but it was already too late to do that when the airplane went crashing through trees and dense leaves and stuff in the jungle as the smoking plane crashes down and the pilot tries to make a safe landing but couldn't.
Aria jostled in her seat from the airplane being bumped and crashing through the trees before it all went to a stop by her instantly going into a blackout like something hit her on the head hard and rendered her unconscious.

-ARIA SAND'S VOICE-OVER NARRATION-
And just like that…
Everything seems to change…in a certain big way of sorts…
00000
Aria groaned as she slowly returned to consciousness from being hit on the head.
She raised a hand to check her mental faculties and see if she's bleeding or not but fortunately, she has not bled yet except the only thing she seemed to be suffering is just a head concussion and some bruises she's now feeling from being jostled and bumped about inside the airplane.
She called out for the pilot, asking if he's alright but there's no answer or any reply back from him, which caused Aria to think the worst.
It didn't take long for her to shake off the blurry vision she got from the slight head concussion, and then her eyesight started clearing up. And when it did, she raised one of her hands up to hold back the sudden vomit rising to her mouth when she saw that the pilot is dead.
In the quickest but most gruesome way.
Aria tried to turn away from the horrible sight but she can't help but stare at the dead pilot who was impaled by the broken debris upon the airplane crashing down and nose-diving front first against a hard tree or rock boulder or something and one of the propellers got twisted back and crashed through the front window, that impaled the pilot almost completely through and back out the chest, nearly cleaving the dead man in half in the gruesome bloody way.
Aria took deep breaths to calm herself and her rising nausea down and it worked as she slowly removed her tight belt on herself that protected her from the plane crash miraculously. Once she got herself free, she carefully looked around and was gentle and cautious in her footsteps inside the still jostling plane she's in like it landed in a dangerous spot where it could possibly fall again, like on the edge of the cliff or high up in the tree branches or something like that.
But when she looked outside a bit, she was relieved to see that they just landed into a pile of rocks that cause some metal parts of the plane to bend inwards from the crash-landing and there's no worry of tipping or falling over into the edge of death.
After ensuring that she's truly safe, she went to look for her things as well as other supplies and needed to get out of the plane, in case it might turn up more problems like engine trouble or it breaks on fire or something. She found her pack and then there were other rucksacks or bags full of supplies and she got them out of the plane one by one, and though they were really heavy, she managed to get them all out before her ominous suspicions became true when there was a start of sparks and then the engine went blazing on fire.
Once she pulled all the bags and packs a far distance away from the plane, Aria nearly jumped in surprise when the airplane exploded behind her and she turned to see it burning in a fiery inferno blazing hotly, but not hot enough to cause a forest fire in the dense wild jungle she's now stranded in.
She stared at the burning airplane for a moment, feeling guilty that she didn't have time to take out the pilot's body too, to give him a proper burial but she figured that being burnt to ashes by the fire is enough of a respectful funeral for him, since he died quickly and hopefully, painlessly from the plane crash.
When she finally snapped out of her staring daze for almost a long moment and realized that she must not stick around near the area of the burning plane, since wildlife might come and check the fire out of curiosity from the noise and everything. And Aria knew very well that the local wildlife might turn out to be not-so-friendly kinds and choose to prey on her so she moved quickly to get out of there and find suitable shelter.
Aria didn't have much difficulty, dragging the heavy bags and packs, and finding the good kind of shelter she's looking for. And the added fact that she had a weapon ready, which is just a sharp army knife and handgun she found among the bags, Aria is prepared to face whatever might come at her or something.
Granted, she never had a real-life experience defending herself against anything, even though the only threats she was a little afraid of, were humankind. But now that she's in the jungle with whatever dangerous wildlife is lurking around and about, it looks like Aria needs to brush up on her skills to fend off any of those dangers.
She was tense all the way as she tried to carry all the bags and packs while trying to find shelter in the wild jungle, almost jumping or jolting skittishly every time she hears a snapping noise or a chirping cry. But when she finally found it, she gave out a sigh of relief like she was instantly exhausted for being the pack mule, carrying all the heavy luggage.
The shelter Aria found, turned out to be a cave, and it is situated almost a bit high up the bottom edge of a cliff of a slightly big rocky hill, which is out of reach for any land predators as well as too low for any aerial predators to come up there. But when Aria climbed up there easily, she double-checked to make sure that there are really no living occupants inside, whether its animal or human kinds.
After she checked it, with only the handgun and knife to defend herself and looked all around the cave and found it truly empty of anything, Aria nodded with relief and satisfaction upon finding this cave suitable as her temporary shelter until she might something else that is more solid and secure for her to stay in and perhaps call for help.
To lift up all the heavy bags from down below, Aria had already prepared the rope to carry them up into the cave, one by one like before and it didn't take long for her to get everything up there until the last heavy pack came up and she grabbed and carried it into the cave shelter.
After getting the bags inside, she opened some up to make some kind of perimeter alert or alarm system so that it will double the security measures for the shelter to be safer and after she did that, she made and lit up a small low fire to light up the dark cave but not high enough to attract any predators around or about. Once she did that, and the time has passed to nighttime already, much to Aria's surprise on noticing it, she took out a water bottle and few biscuits to replenish herself with energy and then make up a small cot bedding for her to sleep and rest for another day.
Since Aria feels a little relieved and relaxed that she's safe up there in the cave for the time being, however long that will be, after eating the small rations as dinner, she set up her bed and went to sleep like she's been completely tired for the ordeals she went through that day.
She prayed that by the next day tomorrow, everything will be different and she'll be prepared and ready to do whatever tasks to survive through this unknown wild jungle she crash-landed in and face whatever creatures that are locally living or occupying this place.
However, unbeknownst to Aria Sands…there were already some creatures in that very jungle, aware of her presence, ever since the airplane flew over and then crashed down into the island.
Many eyes that are all eerie and predator-like…staring up at Aria's makeshift shelter in that cliff edge's cave.
All lurking and hiding in the shadows, deep in the trees, like they're waiting for a chance to pounce onto the unsuspecting victim or something.
There was some hissing, snarling, or clicking sounds coming from those scary eyes that are gazing sharply from the shadows…in some familiar way that they sounded like or the type of seemingly recognizable sound tones that other people might know.
It didn't take long for those eyes to disappear when the moon shines bright late at night at the time and they returned to whatever nest or dwelling they had come from and will return to wait on their innocent vulnerable prey, that is Aria.

Just what kind of wildlife creatures are there lurking in wait for poor Aria when she finds out about them?
And what kind of dangers she's going to face when she figures out and discovers where she truly is?
