"I don't see why you want to go here Grace..." Opal's voice trailed off a bit as she put some red lipgloss on to match her red off the shoulder dress. She sprayed some perfume on and looked at herself in the mirror, just had finished putting on some make up to match. The vibrant red looked beautiful on her deep brown skin. Opal was a 24 year old vampire huntress. She hunted vampires because of her ex who was a faerie-vampire hybrid and her main target was now Eric Northman.

"This is all for your benefit," Grace put on some black lipstick to match her black dress with sheer sleeves. The dress paired well with her peachy skin tone. "It'll put you one step closer to the prey you've been huntin' for months." Her thick southern accented voice said with a smile. Opal shook her head and rolled her eyes playful.

"If I can get near him...he bashes people's faces in just for walking up to him.." Opal sighed and got in the car with Grace after heading out Grace's house and locking the door.

"You have a protection spell on ya. He won't hurt ya. I have a money back guarantee for a reason." Grace winks at at her best friend and drove them to Fangtasia.

After showing their IDs they walked inside, the red walls bright with the lighting of the bar. Humans and vampires were dancing, drinking, or just making out. Opal's eyes scanned the area slowly as Grace walked up to the bar and ordered herself a drink. Someone's blue eyes were on Grace, a pale vampire with dark hair. He was wearing a plain grey t-shirt with blue jeans.

Opal walked to Grace and she stared at a blonde short haired vampire who was sitting on his throne like chair. The studs on his leather jacket shine against the light. He glanced at Opal as she looked at him. Locking eyes for a quick second, Opal looked away but could feel his cold eyes still on her.

The dark haired vampire from before got up from his table and slowly approached the two women.

"Excuse me.." his deep southern accent was like music to Grace's ears. Both of them looked at the man in front of them, Grace blushing.

"Hello!" She tried to keep her cool, thinking about how handsome he looked.

"I just happened to notice you across from the other side...and I was wonderin if you would care to join me..if it's no trouble that is, your friend can come too" Bill looked at Grace in her green eyes, his eyes were calming to her. He then glanced at Opal and flashed a warm smile at her.

Grace smiled but then looked at Opal.

"O..oh! Um, It's up to you" she tried not to stammer. Opal looked at the vampire as she could still feel those eyes on her.

"Sure." She shivered slightly, trying to ignore the feeling. The three walked over to where he was sitting at earlier.

He took a sip of his tru blood. "What brings you lovely ladies to Fangtasia?" He asked.

"Call it morbid curiosity!" Grace giggled and smiled at him, pushing her red hair back behind her ears. Her plump smiling face riddled with freckles.

"We like a little flavor in our lives." She spoke to Bill as the blonde kept staring Opal down with mild interest from behind them. Opal turned and glanced at him. His eyebrows rose some when she made eye contact again with him. Peeking Eric's interest in her even more, that she had the balls to look at him again. Bill looked at Opal before speaking, gripping his bottle.

"It seems he's taking an interest to you." He paused for a moment. "Just don't stare too much or make too much eye contact with him. It's not a good idea." The dark haired man sipped his drink.

"He doesn't seem all that scary. Franky he just seems high and mighty" Grace sipped her drink.

"Well...Eric is the leader of our whole district so power can be scary. The sheriff that doesn't have any regard for human lives." their new friend looked at Grace. As he was finishing his sentence, a young human girl walked up to Eric slowly.

"Excuse me sir." She swallowed hard, shaking softly. Eric sighed and looked away from Opal, his eyes now on the trembling woman before him, his face had a bored look to it.

"C-Can I touch your hand?" She asked nervously. Eric stared at her for a few moments before slowly standing up from his chair, towering over her, over everyone in the bar with his height being six foot five inches.

"Damn! he's tall," Grace said in shock, glancing at Opal, she whispered to her. "Are you wanna do this?"

Opal watched, as seeing Eric's full height was starting to worry her.

"I will be fine Grace." Opal whispered back.

"There's not any real point in whisperin because we can still hear you." Bill whispered to the two. Grace covered her mouth to stifle a giggle at his comment.

"Oh. Y'all's senses are that strong?" She was surprised.

"Please sir," the woman stared up at Eric. "All I want is to touch your hand! You're so beautiful."

"You'll feel these hands...just not the way you intended." Eric sighed before grabbing her by the throat and lifting her off the ground. He threw her across the room like she weighted nothing, sending her crashing against one of the tables, spilling her jaw open. Opal stared in shocked and Grace, in horror. Pam, who stood to the left of Eric just sighed as her fangs popped out. As the girl bled out from her gash, a few vampires grabbed her and dragged her out of the bar. A few small puddles of blood and teeth were smeared where she was laying at.

Grace's heartbeat was fast as fear overtook her, Eric gazed at Opal again. Causing Opal to look at him. Getting up from her chair. Opal slowly made her way towards the tall blonde.

"Here comes another one." Pam rolled her eyes. Bill gently put his hand on Opal's arm, grabbing onto it.

"That's not a good idea.." he was worried as Grace looked at her friend in surprise.

Eric rose an eyebrow at her, trying not to let anyone see the growing smirk on his face. "That's quite alright Bill..let her approach."

Bill gritted his teeth together, knowing that he can't go against Eric's words he slowly let go of Opal's arm. Opal walked up the steps to Eric but Pam stepped in front of her, her fangs still out.

"What do you want human?" She stared down at her.

"Stand down Pam, it's alright." Eric looked at Opal with the most interest he's shown all night as Pam crossed her arms.

"You want to approach me after seeing that display?" He asked, still standing.

"Want to approach you? I already did." She looked up at him. Eric couldn't help but to smile at her attitude.

"You're right. You're in front of me. But you approached me after seeing someone else get rejected. Are you bold? Or is that bravery just a guise to hide your stupidity?" He leaned down close to her. "What are you trying to accomplish here?" He wrinkled his nose.

"Is that...magic I smell?"

Grace grabbed onto Bill's arm, scared, her heart racing. Bill gently wrapped his arm around Grace's shoulder and whispered to her. His cold hand against her warm skin made her shiver.

"Undo that spell."

"I can't..It doesn't work like that.." Grace shook her head.

"Well I can assure you that I'm not as stupid as you think." Opal stared at Eric, unfazed. Smiling some.

"Apparently not, if you have a friend who puts a spell on you before you come here. I wonder why they would need to do that..." he narrows his eyes, staring at Opal's wrists and neck which had a collar and bracelets made out of sliver. "What are you trying to accomplish by coming here?"

"I just wanted to see what all the fuss over you is about...and now that I'm here...I still don't have a clue...but if it makes you feel better...I'll come back tomorrow without my friend's spell." Opal smirked. Bill was shocked at how forward and bold Opal was. He looked at Grace and blinked in surprise "Does she have a death wish?"

Eric looked surprised and smirked as well. "And without your sliver. Then we have a deal." Grace gripped Bill's sleeve even more, her heart now racing with panic. Bill rubbed her shoulder to ease her worries. Opal nodded and grinned wide at the tall vampire in front of her.

"Deal. I'll see you tomorrow, Eric." She smirked before walking back to Grace and Bill. Eric stared at her body, admiring her shape and noticing she also had the same sliver bands, around her thighs. He stared at how the colors of shiny grey and red paired perfectly with her deep brown, mocha like skin. Now wishing that red wasn't just from her clothes, but red from the warm blood he wanted to see run down her body as he claimed her as his.

Grace hugged Opal tight when she walked up to them and Grace could feel Opal shaking slightly. The feeling of Eric's eyes on her was so much stronger now. He slowly sat back in his seat with his legs crossed in his black jeans. Just staring intensely at her, watching her every move.

"Are you really going to entertain her?" Pam asked him in Old Norse, placing her hand on her hip.

"We will see if she shows up again." He replied back in their language, his eyes still fixated on the girl in the red dress, listening to their conversation.

"I'm okay! I'm okay," Opal laughed, still a bit shaken up from her encounter with Eric.

"But I think I need a drink!" She laughed more.

"That's an understatement." Bill handed her a few dollars. "It'll be on me. The name's Bill Compton." He smiled at them.

"Thank you." Opal took the money from the vampire and made her way to the bar.

"I'm Grace Abernathy. It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Compton." Grace twirled her hair with her soft fingers, wondering how did Bill know she put a protection spell on Opal.

"The pleasure is all mine Miss Abernathy." Bill's grin was very toothy, making her blush and giggle.

"What's a charming man doing in a place like this?"

"I like to sometimes come by here and see old faces, a place like this isn't meant for a good woman like you" Bill stared into her eyes some. "But I'm glad you did show up." He took a swig of his drink with a smile.

As Grace and Bill got to know each other., Opal was staring at the wall's menu, trying to figure out what she wanted. Eric gave the bartender a quick look before he spoke.

"What can I get ya?" The bartender asked gruffly.

"Do you have anything sweet?"

"Tequila sunrise is pretty sweet." He set down a glass he just finished cleaning.

"I'll take one of those please." She watched as he began to make the order she requested.

He handed her the drink and glanced at Eric. Opal handed him the money but he went back to cleaning glasses without taking it.

"Excuse me. You didn't take my money." She frowned some.

He shot her a quick look. "Your money isn't welcomed here." He looked at Eric again as Eric stared at them. Opal felt his eyes on her again so she looked back at the intimidating vampire. He smirked at her ever so slightly and her eyes grew big. She looked away fast, took her drink and money, then walked back to the table.

"I think that..Eric let me have a free drink." She sipped her sunrise as the two in front of her looked shocked. Eric smiled to himself, listening in.

"That's impressive. Not even Pam gets a free drink!" Bill was surprised and Pam rolled her eyes.

"I reckon bein bold has it's pros" Bill smiled as Opal laughed some "I guess you're right." She gave Eric another glance, who was watching her with an unreadable expression.

Bill looked over at Grace, clearing his throat some.

"Ms. Abernathy, I was wonderin if you'd like to accompany me on a date sometime tomorrow."

Her face turned almost as red as her hair.

"I'd love that!" She tried to keep from smiling too hard.

"Say around 7 PM? I could meet you at your house or somewhere if you'd like."

"Here, you can meet me at my shop. I close around that time so it would be better to meet me there." Grace handed him a black card with pretty sliver color lettering that had the name and address on it. As Bill was looking at the card and Eric was looking at Opal, two humans walked up to Eric and got ahold of her hand. Eric looked at them as the man kissed his hand as the woman kissed his shoe. This pissed Eric off. He stood up almost faster than the human eye could see, staring at them, with an eerily calm look on his face. Grace jumped as Eric stood up and Opal watched.

"W-were sorry!" The man stuttered.

"We just wanted to show our appreciation for you!" the woman started to shake.

"On your hands and knees.." Eric's voice was calm. "Heads to the ground and apologize. Now." His calm voice was now demanding.

The couple dropped to their knees, begging him for his forgiveness. Tears falling down their faces. Eric slowly put his foot onto the man's head. Pam got up and followed Eric, putting her foot on the woman's head before speaking to Eric in Old Norse.

"You owe me new shoes." she huffed. Eric chuckles and nodded before adding more pressure onto the man's head.

"Please stop! It hurts! Please forgive me!" the man began to sob. The woman cried out in pain as Pam also added some pressure. Eric sighed and brought his foot up before sending it crashing down, shattering the man's skull into pieces. His head split open and caving inwards as blood and brain matter flew all over Eric's black boot. Pam crushed the woman's skull at the same time Eric did, pouting and cursing that her new pink shoes were ruined. Grace covered her mouth, looking like she was about to throw up and Bill just watched with a saddened look on his face. A vampire on stand by came up to Eric and Pam, taking their messy shoes off while another vampire took the bodies away. As Eric's bloody shoe was being removed, he locked eyes with Opal once again, his gaze slightly threatening. She didn't break her stare which caused Eric to smirk and show her his long sharp fangs. Suddenly, Opal felt something on her shoulder. She looked to see it was Grace's hand.

"Let's go.." Grace had pure panic in her voice.

"Plus, the bar closes in a few hours anyway." Bill took a last big swig of his Tru Blood before leaving with the girls. "Well..it was nice meetin you lovely ladies but I have to get goin." Bill chuckled. "It's past my bed time," he turned his attention to Grace. "I'll see you tomorrow Ms. Abernathy."

"I'll see you tomorrow Mr. Compton! Have a safe night." She smiled.

He smiled back before stepping in his car and driving off. Grace watched him go with a smile.

Opal looked at Grace as she got into the car with her.

"So you two are going out on a date?" Opal asked, feeling wary. Grace nodded.

"You know how I feel about vampires..they're good for nothing blood suckers!" Opal's face was twisting up. "I don't have issue with people dating vampires but I would die if something happened to you." She gripped the hem of her dress.

"Leave me alone Opal, he's quite the gentleman."

"Okay. But if he so much as lays a finger on you to harm you. I will kill him." Opal crossed her legs. "And don't worry about putting any spells on me tomorrow."

"Alright alright." Grace sighed, stopping at a red light. "I'm surprised he could even tell that you had on you."

Opal gave Grace a funny look.

"Grace...what do you know about vampires?"

"Not much in all reality." She began to drive forward once the light turned green.

"Their senses are about thousand times better than any animal and they're fast and strong as hell." Opal informed her.

"I guess it makes sense how Eric could crush those people's skulls so easily..." Grace frowned and gripped the steering wheel a little tighter. "Are you sure you don't want to have any protection tomorrow? What if he hurts you? I couldn't live with myself if that happened."

"I don't want any protection..I'll be fine. I know their weaknesses...I've killed plenty of vampires." Opal patted Grace's shoulder.

"That's true... but I think this one is different. But if you're sure." Grace sighed. The rest of the drive was a bit quiet. Grace pulled into Opal's driveway, she lived in a cute log captain about 30 minutes outside of town.

Opal hugged her friend and smiled.

"I'm coming to your shop at your lunch hour. To teach you more about vampires." Opal smiled and laughed before going inside her house. Grace laughed and drove home. Thinking about how exciting her date with an actual vampire would be, as Opal laid in bed, thinking the opposite, of how evil Eric of how—attractive he was?
