Mathew set his phone down, blankly staring ahead. The stuffy room felt clean, less suffocating. The sudden release of the frosty grasp of loneliness melted away. What was this feeling? Yes, he knew they were his friends, but he couldn't but feel like they were fake. He guessed this proved him wrong and that they were genuine friends. He had met them online purely by accident, joining the wrong Discord server. At first, they thought he was someone else. (IKEA's sibling) But after the clear up, they quickly became friends. Surprisingly, Tomato was the first to befriend him. Then Lillie, then Debbie, Kiwi, and finally IKEA. Mathew finally sat up from his bed, soft breathing signalling that his brother was still asleep. He slipped out of his bed, putting on his uniform and opened the curtains. Alfred wined from the top bunk, hiding underneath his blanket. Mathew sighed, rubbing his face. Another hectic day.
Kiku shut his phone off, slipping his phone back into his pocket. He leaned back in his chair, eyes closing. A seedling of happiness and excitement sprouted in his stomach. Vines of warmth caressed him, something he hasn't felt in a long time. Yes, he had friends like Ludwig, Feli, and Hercules, but he felt like he had a deeper connection with his friends online. He chuckled to himself, how could he feel closer with people who he hadn't seen their faces?
"Ah, Japan, I see that your early as always!" A German accent interrupted his thoughts. Kiku looked over at the doorway, spotting Ludwig. Another day in the Newspaper club.
Roderich set his phone on the piano bench beside him. He straightened his back, placing his fingers on the keys. He started up a melody without even thinking, eyes glazed as he drifted off.

They didn't push or dive into his problems. They respected him and didn't treat him differently. At first, he was hesitant to use technology, but once he was alone, he finally explored the internet. The server he entered was small, but he was glad that he joined. With the last chord and note he played, his hands hovered over the keys before resting at his sides. Elizabeta tilted her head. She sat near the window, as she did every morning to listen to Roderich's playing. However, this morning's song felt different. She couldn't place her finger on it, but it felt happy.
Romano set his phone down. He picked up his cup of Espresso, downing it. He then poured himself some more, nibbling on cookies. Romano glared at the window across his room, eyebrows narrowed. He was confused about what he was feeling. His mind reeled, trying to identify this feeling. It was unfamiliar, something he hasn't felt in a long time. His heart swelled with joy, heart beating in excitement. He froze, was it Joy? Downing the last of his Espresso, he jumped up and picked up his bag. Romano grabbed the last cookies before storming out of his dorm room.
Berwald was on his way to school, the other Nordics walking ahead of him. The Campus was huge, sporting vast fields and large buildings. As his friends continued chatting, he drifted off into thought. He was excited for sure, but nervous. Would they be scared by his appearance? He was just shy, scared to mess up when talking. But his friends online didn't judge him. A small smile made way on his face. Joy rippled through him. The sudden rush of contempt washed over him.
The rest of the Nordics shivered, looking back at Sweden. He had a small smile, eyes narrowed.
Liechtenstein sighed with contempt, hugging her stuffed bear. She giggled, hopping off her bed. A warm smile adorned her features, having an extra leap in her stride. Switzerland looked up at her, standing at the door with his shoes on.
"Good morning Bruder!" Lillie beamed, slipping on her shoes. Basch chuckled, "What has you in such a good mood?"
"Miss Hungary and Miss Ukraine invited me to a cafe tomorrow. Is it ok if I go?"
Of course, she wasn't meeting up with them. Lillie knew that if she told him she was meeting up with strangers from online, he wouldn't let her go. Even if he did, he would follow her and most likely shoot up the cafe.
