Chapter 1

Kierra Olinsky was sleeping peacefully until she was suddenly awoken by her roommate and best friend, Aiden Voight.

"Wake up sleepy," Aiden Voight said.

"No, I don't want to!" Kierra Olinsky said, as she turned her head away from him.

"Today is our last day, you don't want to be late do you?" Aiden Voight asked. For the past 16 weeks Aiden Voight and Kierra Olinsky had been going to Firefighter Academy. Most people might think that they would follow in their father's footsteps, but the two friends always dreamt about becoming firefighters.

It all started when they were 8 years old. The two of them were in Math class when out of nowhere the building burst into flames. Kierra Olinsky and Aiden Voight were trapped in the classroom, until firefighter Wallace Boden pulled them out. They and their father's were forever grateful to him and the second the two friends could, they enrolled in Academy.

"Go away, Aiden," Kierra Olinsky, groaned.

"I didn't wanna do this, but I guess I'll have to," Aiden Voight said as he grabbed his friend's foot and dragged her off the bed. Kierra Olinsky landed on the floor with a thump.

"I hate you," Kierra Olinsky said as she stood up and hit her roommate with a pillow.

"I know you do," Aiden Voight replied.

"Fine let's get going," Kierra Olinsky grumbled.

"Aren't you forgetting something?" Aiden Voight asked.

"I don't think so," Kierra Olinsky replies.

"I don't think showing up like that will get you any extra points," Aiden Voight said as he motioned towards the girls outfit. It was just a simple checkered shirt that Kierra Olinsky had stolen from Aiden Voight.

"Fine. Now get out so I can change," Kierra Olinsky says as she starts to shove him out of the room. She of course failed due to her small height. Aiden Voight took after his father and was 6 feet tall, and compared to Kierra Olinsky's small height of 5'3, he was a giant.

Aiden Voight walked out of his friend's room and started to make her coffee. A Kierra Olinsky without a coffee in the morning was scary. Yes, she was short, but she was very feisty.

Kierra Olinsky threw on a pair of yoga pants and a shirt before grabbing her shoes and walking out. Aiden Voight was already at the coffee table with a coffee and a bagel, her favorite breakfast. She thanked him and the two of them headed out the door.

"Are you ready?" Aiden Voight asked his friend as she tried to find a good radio station. She finally settled on 93.9, which played Rock music. Right now it was playing one of Kierra Olinsky's favorite bands, Journey. She turned the music up and sang along to it.

"You're really stuck in the 70's aren't you?" Aiden Voight said as he went to turn down the music.

"Hey. No touchie!" Kierra Olinsky said as she slapped his hand away.

"Ok," Aiden Voight said as he put his hands back on the steering wheel.

"And no I'm not stuck in the 70's. The 70's just had better music," Kierra Olinsky said.

"Whatever you say," Aiden Voight said as he shook his head. Kierra Olinsky just laughed as she went back to singing along with the song. After 15 minutes of Kierra Olinsky's singing along to the music they finally got to the Academy.

"Here goes nothing," Aiden Voight said as the two got out of the car. They walked into the entrance and signed in before going to change into their turnout gear. The two of them finished and walked outside where the rest of their class was waiting. When everybody else joined them, the instructor started calling out names. Kierra Olinsky and Aiden Voight were at the back of the group so they would have to wait a while.

"The instructor's kinda cute," Kierra Olinsky whispered to Aiden Voight.

"Eww. I don't need to know these things," Aiden Voight said as he shoved his friend slightly.

"Ok, whatever," Kierra Olinsky said as she went back to staring at the instructor. He was new, Kierra Olinsky hadn't seen him before in the time she had been there. The instructor was pretty cute. He had black hair with specks of grey, and eyes that seemed to state into your soul. Kierra Olinsky didn't realize how long she had been staring at him, because before she knew it he was calling her name.

"Olinsky," the instructor called.

Kierra Olinsky snapped out of her thought and walked up the stairs into the smoky container. All she had to do was make her way through it. Kierra Olinsky put on her mask and entered the container. It was pitch black inside, so using her hands she felt around the wall. After 3 minutes she found a handle and turned it. After she turned it she could immediately see again. Kierra Olinsky took off her mask and went to the next stage. She picked up the hose and started carrying it up the flight of stairs. She was almost there, only a couple more steps. Her foot touched the last step and she dropped the hose before running off to the dummy drag.

This would have been hard for her due to her height, but when Kierra Olinsky was in highschool she would run practices with Aiden Voight, who was the star Football player. Kierra Olinsky slipped her arms underneath the dummy and began to drag it to where her fellow candidates were. She was almost there, maybe another 10 feet. She gritted her teeth together and dragged it the rest of the way before dropping the dummy's body onto the ground. She felt her fellow candidates pat her on the back and congratulate her while she waited for the instructor to give her her score.

"Nice one. 6 minutes and 30 seconds," the instructor said. Kierra Olinsky couldn't help but smile. That was the best score she hadn't gotten. 20 minutes later Kierra Olinsky saw Aiden Voight climbing up the stairs so she started to scream for him. He got on the last step and picked up the dummy and carried it. The both of them had made it. They had passed firefighter Academy. Aiden Voight placed the dummy down and the two friends hugged each other tightly.

"You stink," Aiden Voight said as he pulled away.

"I think it's you who stinks," Kierra Olinsky joked. The instructor read off Aiden Voight's time and it was 6 minutes 45 seconds.

"Nice one. Not as good as me, but still nice," Kierra Olinsky joked.

"Very fun squirt," Aiden Voight said.

"Don't even," Kierra Olinsky said. 'Squirt' was the nickname that Aiden Voight had come up with when they were in grade school. Kierra Olinsky had been the shortest one in the grade, and much to her dismay, the nickname stuck.

"You know you love it," Aiden Voight joked.

"No, no I don't," Kierra Olinsky said. She didn't hate it, or like it.

"Alright, great job guys. You can go home and by tomorrow, if you passed, we'll send you your new assignment," the instructor said.

"Wanna go to the station?" Aiden Voight asked as he and Kierra Olinsky walked out.

"Yes. Gotta tell them somehow. Beside's Tristain isn't expecting me for," Kierra Olinsky said as she checked her watch, " a couple hours."

Tristan was the manager of a bar that Kierra Olinsky sung and played the guitar at. She had been working there for a couple years, and it had a disant pay and good hours.

"Great. Then let's go," Aiden Voight said as he climbed into his car. Kierra Olinsky reached over to turn on the radio, but Aiden Voight grabbed her hands and stopped her.

"No," Aiden Voight said.

"Please," Kierra Olinsky said as she gave Aiden Voight puppy dog eyes.

"Nope. Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole," Aiden Voight said.

"Did you seriously just…?" Kierra Olinsky asked.

"Yes. Yes I did," Aiden Voight said laughing.

"Fine," Kierra Olinsky said as she slumped against the seat. Aiden Voight laughed and started up the car and drove to the Station. When they got there they walked in and Truddy looked suspiciously at them.

"What did you kids do this time?" Truddy asked.

"Nothing, Truddy. We passed our exams. We are officially Candidates," Kierra Olinsky said as she smiled.

"That's amazing!" Truddy said as she hugged the two.

"What's amazing?" Halstead asked as he walked down the stairs.

"We passed our exams," Kierra Olinsky squealed.

"I knew you could do it," Halstead said as he hugged Kierra Olinsky tightly.

"Well we gotta go tell our dad's, later Halstead," Aiden Voight said as he slung his arm around Kierra Olinsky's shoulder.

"You like her, don't you Halstead?" Truddy asked once the two had gotten far enough away.

"Mini Olinsky? Nah," Halstead said as he walked out of the building.

Kierra Olinsky and Aiden Voight opened up the door and walked into where Intelligence was. When they got there Olinsky saw them first, and he jumped up to hug his daughter.

"How'd it go, kid?" Antonio Dawson asked from his desk. Antonio Dawson was like a brother to the girl. He would protect her no matter what.

"We passed. I got 6 minutes 30, and he got 6 minutes 45," Kierra Olinsky said with a smile.

"So my daughter beat Voight's son!" Alvin Olinsky said. At this Voight walked out and looked at the two kids.

"What's going on here?" Hank Voight asked.

"Ah nothing. Just my daughter beating your son," Alvin Olinsky said.

"No way. That's amazing Kierra," Hank Voight said as he hugged the two, "you we're gonna talk about this." Hank Voight joked. At this the pair just laughed and Olinsky stood up.

"We've got to run an errand, you two stay here. All right?" Olinsky said as he stood up and kissed the top his daughter's head.

"Bye dad," Kierra Olinsky said as the two men walked out.

"What are you working on?" Kierra Olinsky asked as she sat next to Antonio Dawson and spun around in the chair.

"Bad dope, killed lots of girl recently," Antonio Dawson said.

"Any connections?" Kierra Olinsky asked as she pulled her feet up onto the chair and sat on them.

"Yes. This one club. All the girls work there and recently saw this guy," Antonio Dawson said as he pointed to a picture of a middle aged man on the board, "Nick Hasan."

"I could go undercover," Kierra Olinsky said. Kierra Olinsky had gone undercover before, but never something this serious. It was all for druggies.

"No. You know your dad doesn't like it," Antonio Dawson said.

"He won't have to know. Besides Aiden can come with me," Kierra Olinsky said.

"Girls got a point. Who knows when we'll get another opportunity," Adam Ruzek said.

"Thank you, Ruzek," Kierra Olinsky said. Adam Ruzek was always on her side.

"Of course Mini O," Adam Ruzek said. Kierra Olinsky just ignored this and looked back at Antonio Dawson.

"It's not up to me. You know it's up to Halstead," Antonio Dawson said. At this Kierra Olinsky spun around and looked at Jay Halstead.

"Fine," Jay Halstead said. At this Kierra Olinsky jumped up and went to hug him. At first he was tense but then he softened up.

"Your clothes are in the locker in the back," Adam Ruzek said. Kierra Olinsky and Aiden Voight walked out of the room and into the locker room. Aiden Voight wouldn't need to change, however Kierra Olinsky did have to. Kierra Olinsky opened the locker and found a short tight looking navy dress.

"Are they serious?" Kierra Olinsky said as she held it up to herself.

"You won't be in it long," Aiden Voight jokingly said.

"Aiden!" Kierra Olinsky said as she slapped him. Aiden Voight just held up his hands in surrender.

"Turn around," Kierra Olinsky demanded. Aiden Voight did as he was told, and she slipped out of her clothes. She shimmied into the tight fitting dress, and when she got into it she tried to pull it down. It reached about mid thigh and she felt so uncomfortable in it.

"You can turn around," Kierra Olinsky said as she grabbed the heels. Kierra Olinsky was not a heel person, or a dress person for that matter. Her ideal outfit was a pair of yoga pants and a hoodie.

"Dang girl," Aiden Voight said jokingly.

"Stop it," Kierra Olinsky said as she managed to get the last heel on. When she did, and stood up straight, she tripped over herself. Luckily Aiden Voight rushed over and caught her before she flaceplanted.

"I hate this," Kierra Olinsky said.

"It was your idea," Aiden Voight said as he took off his jacket.

"Yeah, but I didn't realize it involved this," she said as she gestured to her outfit.

"Here. So the boys don't stare at your butt," Aiden Voight said as he handed her his jacket.

"Thank you," Kierra Olinsky said as she put it on. It was just long enough to cover up her butt.

"You guys ready yet?" Jay Halstead yelled from outside.

"Yeah," Kierra Olinsky said as Aiden Voight helped her out of the locker room. When they got out Adam Ruzek looked over at her, and did a double take.

"Eyes off, Ruzek," Jay Halstead said. Ruzek just nodded and turned around.

"We need to get a mic on you," Antonio Dawson said.

"All right," Kierra Olinsky. Jay Halstead led her to a different room, with the help of Aiden Voight.

"Can you, uh," Jay Halstead said.

"Wow, Halstead. Moving a bit quickly aren't we," Kierra Olinsky joked. Jay Halstead's face turned red and he cleared his throat.

"I'm kidding," Kierra Olinsky said as she handed Aiden Voight his jacket back. She turned around and a couple seconds later felt Jay Halstead's warm breath on her neck. She shuddered and then felt hands on her back. Jay Halstead unzipped the back of the girl's dress and with minimum skin contact put the mic in place.

"Uh. I'm done," Jay Halstead said as he zipped up Kierra Olinsky's dress.

"Thanks," Kieera Olinsky said as she turned around. She started walking but then tripped again.

"You know what, that's it," Kierra Olinsky mumbled as she took off the shoes and continued walking.

"Hey wait!" Jay Halstead screamed. Kierra Olinsky turned around and he gave her the jacket back.

"Thanks," Kierra Olinsky said. Kierra Olinsky and Aiden Voight went downstairs and headed to the Club. When they got there Kierra Olinsky walked through the back.

"You must be, Kierra," one of the girls said. Kierra Olinsky spun around and nodded.

"Great. My name's Ally," the girl said. The girl was about 19 years old.

"Nice to meet you," Kierra Olinsky said as she put her shoes back on.

"I'll introduce you to everyone," Ally said.

"How do you walk in these things," Kierra Olinsky said as she stumbled around.

"Practice. Lots of it. This is Bunny, Clarissa, and Amelia. You are filling in for Krystal," Ally said as she introduced Kierra Olinsky to the girls.

"Nice to meet you guys. We'll get you out of here. What do I need to know about Nick?" Kierra Olinsky asked.

"Heavy drinker. Takes lots of girls home," Bunny said.

"Ok. Well I should head out," Kierra Olinsky said as she walked out of the room. She immediately spotted Aiden Voight at the bar and walked over to him.

"You ready?" Kierra whispered.

"Are you?" Aiden Voight asked.

"Yeah. You got my back," Kierra said as she patted his shoulder and walked away. Kierra Olinsky walked around the room for a while until she spotted him and as quietly as she could she said, "I see him."

Kierra Olinsky made her way over to him and sat next to him. The guy looked her up and down and gave her a smile that sent shivers through her bones.

"You're new here?" The guy asked.

"Yep. I'm replacing Mia," Kierra Olinsky said as she gave him her biggest smile.

"Let's go to my place," The guy said. The way he said gave Kierra Olinsky no way to say no.

"Ok, hey Bunny. Can you tell Kyle I'm clocking off early?" Kierra Olinsky asked.

"Of, course," Bunny said. Kierra stood up with the guy and walked out the back door.

"She's leaving," Aiden Voight said into his earpiece.

Kierra Olinsky opened the door and the second they stepped out they were swarmed by CPD.

"CPD! Put your hands up," Adam Ruzek yelled. The guy looked around before he grabbed a gun out of his pocket and put it to Kierra Olinsky's head.

"Anybody moves and she dies!" The guy yelled.

"Halstead. You got a clean shot?" Erin Lindsay asked.

"Not yet," Jay Halstead said from his position on the roof. The guy stepped back with Kierra Olinsky in his arms and Kierra Olinsky looked over at where Jay Halstead was waiting. Kierra Olinsky picked up her foot and stomped on the guy's toe. He momentarily let go of Kierra Olinsky, but this was enough time for her to dive out of the way.

"Got a clear shot," Jay Halstead said as he took the shot. The bullet travelled from where Jay Halstead was waiting, and hit the guy right in the leg. Intelligence had a rule. Never shoot to kill, unless absolutely necessary.

Erin Lindsay ran over to the guy and put him in handcuffs. Antonio Dawson walked over to where Kierra Olinsky was wiping the trash off of her.

"You did good," Antonio Dawson said as he handed her his jacket.

"Thanks, Antonio," Kierra Olinsky said as she put the jacket on. Kierra Olinsky walked over to where Aiden Voight was standing and slung an arm around him.

"Ready to face our dad's?" He asked.

"No. Not really," Kierra Olinsky said.

An: Here is chapter 1. How do you guys like it?
