So this is my first piece for...well a long time so don't judge it too harshly. Warning y'all right now I have NO idea how this is gonna turn out cause I've got tons if ideas including time travel so...get ready for a really wild ride. I'm rating M in case of whatever I want cause I'm an uncensored type of person. Possible LuffyXNami. Maybe some other pairings. Not sure yet. Well let's go!

Chapter 1
The girl
Third person P.O.V.
Upon a cliff, on a small island in the East Blue, sat a little girl with dark hair and freckles. She stared out to the sea while her mother cried into her curls. Clutched tightly in her mother's fist was the newspaper. The girl wasn't sure why her mother had broken into hysterics when she had read it earlier in the day. The girl couldn't yet read but on the page she had seen a picture of a man with a cowboy hat. She thought he looked strangely familiar to a picture her mother had tucked away in her dresser but the girl, barely two years old at the time, didn't understand what was wrong. She sat silently letting her mother snuggle deeper into her.
"He never knew about you."
The girl looked at her mother quizzically.
"One day when you're older...I hope you understand that I did that for you both..but now...he never got to..."
Once again tears took over her mother's face. The girl still not understanding but seeing how upset her mother was hugged her and cooed "It o'tay mama".
Her mother closed her eyes and remember what else she had seen on the paper. He had family. A brother. She'd keep that information tucked away. For now.
The woman hugged her daughter closer to her chest and whispered to her with the name she only said when no one else was around.
"Thank you my sweet Portgas D. Scarlet"
*10 years later*
Scarlet sat once again at that same cliff. This time she sat alone next to a cross. The dirt was still freshly upturned showing that the grave was for one who had recently departed. The name engraved was that of her mother. She had gotten sick and never got better. Before she had died, however, she had told Scarlet to find him. Something about her needing safety and them being family and knowing her father.
Her father... Scarlet had heard the stories her mother told her whole life. How her father had rushed in and saved her mother only to spend a week with her before sailing back off. How her mother was never angry and how they "kept in touch". How her existence was hidden from him. How he was an amazing pirate with a huge bounty. How he had died...And from the townspeople she learned how hated he was. How hated his bloodline was. Scarlet shivered at the thought of someone finding out about her being a part of said bloodline.
She looked at the recent wanted poster in her hand. It was of him. The man her mother apparently believed could be trusted. The man she would have to find. She raised a brow at the picture. The man looked nothing like the picture of the baby faced young man she remembered seeing as a child. He seemed to have bulked up quite a bit and the beginning of a five o clock shadow peppered a now strong jawline, but there, upon the mans head, was the straw hat she knew the man was famous for and below the photo, in big bold letters, the name of the pirate her father had once called his brother. Monkey D. Luffy.
*3 years later*
Scarlet stayed hidden behind the crates aboard the ship. It had been over a month since she left the last island and heard that the straw hats were spotted sailing around the East blue. Word was the captain grew up on an island nearby and he was stopping by for a visit. This cargo ship just so happened to be headed to that island. Suddenly her stomache growled. Not wanting to alert anyone onboard she grabbed a fruit from the crate next to her to eat. If she had bothered to look closer she would've noticed that the fruit had a strange shape. It looked like a puffy cloud but inside the white were also clouds of dark reds, oranges, and yellows. She had tried to eat the whole thing at once and nearly choked.
'What the hell kind of fruit-'
Before she could finish her thought she heard one of the crewman shout.
"DAWN ISLAND IS IN VIEW"
'Well then. Looks like I'll be meeting you soon...Uncle Luffy'
