227: Who Tells Your Story - A Hamilcast Fanfic

When recording the commentary track for the Hamilton movie, writer and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and Hamilcast host Gillian Pensavalle are transported back to colonial America and get to meet their hero Alexander Hamilton first hand. I don't own Hamilton, it belongs to LMM, I was given permission to use Gillian's name and character by Gillian herself

1. You're listening to the Hamilcast

"Are the drinks ready? Did we make enough popcorn?"

"Gillian was nervous about today. Sure, they were friends for a while and had the chance to record episodes for the Hamilcast before, but this time was different

"It was July of 2020, the heat dome was in full swing and COVID-19 was still around, but Lin-Manuel Miranda was able to make it to the apartment to record one of the most important pieces for the Hamilcast – a full commentary track for the HamilFilm based on Lin's notes in the Hamiltome, live from the room where the podcast happens.

"I made sure to make Lin's favorite. I'll be back in a few hours, tell him I said hi"

That was Mike (You know Mike), Gillian's husband, creative partner on many projects and the official Hamilcast mixologist. He left the apartment for a meeting, it's a shame he'll miss Lin, but he had to go.

Gillian was making the final preparations for the recording session when the doorbell rang; she opened the door to greet her friend, the genius award winning performer was there, wearing his favorite grey hoodie and holding a notebook with any other thoughts he might have for the recording.

"Thank you so much for helping me with this" he said to her as he was sitting on the couch. Disney+ and the movie were ready, microphones and headgear were laid out on the table, and next to them were a bowl of popcorn and a pitcher of "Spark into a Flame" nutcracker cocktail and two large glasses and a signed copy of "Hamilton: The Revolution". They were ready to begin the recording.

"Hi, I'm stage and now screen's Lin-Manuel Miranda, and you're listening to the Hamilcast" Lin started with his famous opening bit, now adjusted to the release of the movie.

"Hello everyone, it's me Gillian with a special episode of the Hamilcast because today I have Lin-Manuel Miranda with me again and we're gonna record the commentary track for the #HamilFilm on Disney+!"

The recording went well, the movie played as Lin was telling the audience about his observations and thoughts that came during the making, that is until they reached Satisfied….
