This. This is me exploring plotholes in both the books and movies. If you think I'm wrong on anything, please leave a review explaning why. Flames will be deleted, but comstructive criticism is very much welcomed.
Now, onto exploring and explaining the plot holes
1. The Cullens Should have Still Sparkled
Now. Let me explain. We all know of the vampires sparkling in the sunshine, yes? Well, why didn't they sparkle while they were out during the day?
And before you say 'oH, tHe SuN wAsN't OuT', well, that shouldn't have mattered.
Yes, the clouds block the sun somewhat, but not completely. Otherwise there'd be no fucking light at all.
So they should have sparkled at least somewhat. But they didn't. If anyone has a possible explanation for this I'll love to hear it.
2. No, Jacob wasn't attracted to Bella because of Renesmee, that's bullshit.Ugh. There's so many things wrong with that 'excuse' Stephanie Meyers gave us. Doesn't she know how periods work? Periods prepare female bodies for pregnancy, producing one egg each month. And, unless Bella was some freak of nature, more than she already was, that is, she had periods. She produced one egg each month. You're telling me Jacob was attracted to every egg her body made during the course of over f o u r books? You're telling me that? I call bullshit. Because it takes two people to make a baby. You can't make a baby by yourself. So if Jacob was supposedly attracted to Renesmee because he could 'sense' Bella would give birth to her, that's complete and utter bullshit. Why wasn't he attracted to Edward too? I mean, Edward did have a part in making Renesmee. Shouldn't he have been 'attracted' to the single sperm that penetrated Bella's egg? Let's face the facts. Jacob was attracted to Bella, and when he happened to imprint on Renesmee when she was born, he decided that if he couldn't have Bella, he would have the next best thing, her daughter.
3. Why weren't the females with more traumatic pasts more traumatised?3a. Rosalie
As we all know, Meyers gave Esme, Rosalie and Alice tragic backstories. My question is, why weren't they more affected by it? Did I miss something?
Why wasn't Rosalie more torn up about her rape? Why wasn't she as traumatised? Why did Meyers make her seem as though she instantly bounced back, just wanting revenge?
To me, it looked as though she hadn't done any research at all. Like, she just really didn't seem traumatized to me.
3b. Esme
And Esme. Esme was abused by her husband, and lost her baby cause he died of an illness. Yet, there's no remenents of that time? No past habits that Esme shows? At the very least, I don't see any. And I do think there should have been, really.
3c. Alice
Alice was placed in an insane asylum when she was human, because her family thought her crazy. Yet, hasn't anyone questioned that Alice may actually be a tad crazy? She may very well just be good at hiding it. Because, from what I've heard, insane asylums in the 20th century weren't very kind. They used torture methods that fucked up patients big time. Why did Alice supposedly come out of there so sane? Why, apparently, wasn't she affected more?
4. We're just going to ignore Edward's creepy af behavior and his family enabling it?
Edward was controlling towards Bella. He was manipulative. He actually tried to scare her when it was revealed what he was. He watched her sleep by sneaking into her room through her window. Her fucking window. And his family no doubt knew! Alice has visions, yes? She'd have seen this creepy as fuck behavior!
God. I'm gonna have to do another chapter tackling this topic alone. So I'll leave you with this for now while I sort out a much more fleshed out chapter.
5. Bella's shield
As we all know, Bella has a shield, which was active even when she was human. Edward couldn't read her mind. Neither could Aro. Jane couldn't use her power on her. Neither could Zafrira. Why? They all could only affect the mind. And Bella's was shielded.
So, why then, could Alice see her future? Why could Alice see the decisions she was gonna make if her mind was supposedly shielded? Anyone care to explain this to me?
