A/N: Hi, there! I'm not sure what to say… This is the first time, in a long time, that I've started a new FanFic! I've never written a Mario story before, and anyone, who's familiar with my work, knows I mostly write Zelda and Home Alone stories. Though, this idea has been in my head for a few years now. Now that I have more time to write, I thought I'd get started on it! I just finished playing through Super Mario Sunshine again (the first time I did was over ten years ago), and it got me in the mood to write this. Also, I thought it was the perfect time to write something Corona-related… Right? (I used to call it "Beer Mountain". Now, I think it'll be called "Virus Mountain"…) Anyway, this may not be the best first start, but it's a start! I guess I should finish with this Author's Note, so we can get started! :D
Corona Mountain Days
Chapter 1: Arrival
Peach's PoV:
The hatch of the Mecha-Bowser machine opens, revealing a green landscape. My eyes widen at how breathtaking it is, momentarily forgetting my fear of being with Bowser's son. I don't even know the child's name, and he thinks I'm his Mother! What has Bowser been telling him? I knew the Koopa King was in love with me (which, I find disturbing), but to drag his own son into it, is disturbing, in a different manner…
"Well, we're here, Mama Peach!" the little Koopa speaks. The whole time we were travelling to where we are now, we never spoke to each other. I never got to learn his name!
"Um…" I begin, unsurely. "Honey, I think there's been…"
"What? A misunderstanding? Ha!" The kid is smart, for knowing such big words. He jumps out of the machine, standing in front of me, like he was at the amusement park. He turns to face me and says, "By the way, in case you don't remember, I'm Junior—Bowser Junior!"
"Oh, yes…" Of course, I didn't know that, because I didn't know Bowser even had a son!
"Well, come on, Mama Peach! We've gotta go see Papa!" He lends me his hand. He's polite, that's for sure! Though, I still find it unsettling that he carried me around the way he did, when he was disguised as Mario.
"Umm… Where are we going?"
"To our vacation home! We've come here on vacation, too!"
"But, how did you know Mario and the rest of us were…"
"Nevermind that!" he interrupts me. "Now, come on! Papa will be getting impatient!"
I know that if I don't comply, he'll just pick me up and carry me out of this machine. So, I take the easy way out, by taking his hand. I lift up my dress and step out. Junior startles me by grabbing a hold of me by my waist and jumping down from the machine.
Once we land, he lets go of my waist, but takes me by the hand and leads me behind Mecha-Bowser's head. The beautiful green landscape is behind us, because, what enters my vision next, is Isle Delfino's massive volcano.
My eyes widen fearfully, before asking, "Junior… I thought you said we were going to your vacation home?!"
"We are! It's just around this corner here!" He points up ahead. Though, I still can't help but look up at the massive volcano, towering over us. I fear it could erupt at any time!
"Junior, what if this volcano erupts?!"
"Don't worry, Mama Peach, it won't erupt…"
I sigh and kindly ask him, "Junior, could you please not call me 'Mama Peach'? I'm not your…"
"But, you are my Mama!"
"Just stop saying my name at the end of it, please?" I don't like being called "Mama" by him, but I'll take it over being called "Mama Peach".
"Alright, Mama," Is this kid delusional?
Finally, we make it around the corner, and a small, cottage-like house is sitting right beside the volcano. Whose crazy idea was it to have a house beside a volcano?!
"See?! Our vacation home! Since we wanted to be out of the way, we thought it was really convenient. But, it's nothing like our castle, back home…"
"I'll say… It's cute, though!" It really is, but, at the same time, it's frightening that Junior brought me here.
"I knew you'd like it, Mama Pe… Mama!" I smile, because the child is honestly adorable, but he's definitely, in no way, shape, or form, related to me… I think I'd remember having a spiky-shelled child!
We make it to the front door of the small house, and I'm curious what it'll be like to see Bowser here. I'm used to him, being at his own castle, when he'd lock me in a dungeon there. He'd lock me away, until it was time for Mario to come… That's when he'd release me, and make me watch the battle between the two of them. Honestly, it was quite pathetic how easily Bowser could lose… I know Bowser is in love with me, but why the dungeon? Why the trauma?
Bowser Junior's short, stubby arm reaches up for the doorknob. He walks me through the door, and into the tiny home. "Papa!" he calls. "We're home!"
I look around my new (temporary) home. It's as small as can be. There's a seating area to the left of me, but with no TV. There's a kitchenette with a small dining table to the right of me. Ahead of me, there's a hallway running horizontally. As I'm admiring the tiny home, the monster, the King of Koopas himself, walks into the hallway entry archway. I jump a little, startled by his appearance.
"Junior! You've returned with your lovely Mother!" His arms are wide open. I become concerned that he's ready for a hug… He strides toward me and gently hugs me. I feel like I completely disappear in his arms (and not emotionally, either). The action isn't returned on my behalf. "Oh, it's so nice to have you back, my dear,"
Once his scaly body pulls away from me, I ask him, "'Back'? What do you mean? After all, you've only been kidnapping me, at least once a year…"
Before I can continue, he tries to place his finger to my lips. Though, he seems to forget how massive his finger is, since it takes up my entire face. "Now, now, you know that's not true, Peach. You know Mario's the one, who's been abducting you, right?"
"Umm… I'm pretty sure my Father, King Toadstool, would tell you otherwise," I speak firmly.
"King Toadstool, my Father-in-law? Yeah, he would know all about the criminal that Mario is!"
"If Mario's such a criminal, why were you locking me away in a dungeon every time you brought me to your castle?" I cross my arms.
"For your protection, of course!" he immediately answers, but it's obviously a lie.
I look down at Junior, who nods enthusiastically. I sigh, shake my head, and ask Bowser, "Is that what you've been telling your son, who, I'm guessing, is no older than four?"
"Hey! I'm five!" Junior speaks up.
I quickly look down at him, before looking up at his Father and asking, "Is this the sort of example you wish to set for your son? Lying?" I'm trying to sound mad at Bowser, but, with my soft voice, I'm completely unintimidating.
"Papa never lies! He told me you, Mama, were kidnapped by a bad man, named 'Mario'!"
I feel sorry for the child. He's grown up, raised by a lying Father. This Koopa King sits on a Throne of Lies. What else has he told this poor child? Where's his real Mother? How is it Bowser has a five-year-old, without Mario or I knowing?
Bowser, seeming to want to end this conversation, places his giant hand on my back, leading me further into the house. He changes the conversation by saying, "So, my darling, I'll show you where your sleeping quarters are, unless you'd rather sleep with me?" Bowser winks at me.
I feel revolted, as I kindly try pushing away Bowser (without much luck) and say, "Umm… No, thanks," Please, Mario, come here soon! I have a feeling this is going to be worse than those times I've been locked in Bowser's dungeons…

A/N: Thanks for reading! Please let me know what you think! :D I'm not entirely sure if this is an original idea, but it's something I've always wondered, ever since I realized that Mario and the others were on Isle Delfino for more than one day (I was six, when I first started playing this game)! Once I got to Pianta Village, I realized Peach was up at Corona Mountain for more than one day. This is my take on what happened up there. (Also, yes, at a young age, I visualized a cottage up there… Because, honestly, where else would they stay?) Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the rest of this, and will see what happened to Peach up on Beer/Virus Mountain! :D
